Let’s not forget, no place to sell it. There are very few towns even allowing recreational shops. Since you can’t take the cannabis over to another state to sell it, where will all this cannabis that’ll supposedly be grown in this million SF dream be sold? There will be a lot of cannabis available on July 1, just no place to sell it.
Dive in and bid it up if you have so much conviction. Not a lot on the buy side today. Seems volume is dying out already.
If you’re right then I guess the foundation work for bldg 3 is just for show too. I agree that’s far away from completion, but at least I see something happening.
I doubt he’s going to drop any type of negative news before he presents tomorrow. That wouldn’t be very smart.
Tim is presenting to investors again tomorrow and plans to provide an update on the MMCC project. I guess updates are only for potential accredited investors and not for the average shareholder
Well, at least the deal isn’t dead as is being suggested. Why do site improvement, pour concrete and talk about MMCC in the press if the deal is dead?
Don't believe what you read in the Herald News or what their buddies at NB Guide/Southcoast Today write. For a couple dollars, those rags will print/post anything
When is tomorrow, Alex?
Everyone in SE Massachusetts knows that the giant greenhouse isn’t “all approved” or “shovel ready”. Even if it was, nobody is building it for free and ACAN’s word is worthless.
What to make of the latest S-1 filed yesterday... Doesn't say the deal is dead...
I suspect this story isn’t true. I doubt the CFO told some stranger anything of substance that could be construed as insider information.
Now what should anyone think about the fact that ACAN's only preferred partner, Bask Inc., wasn't one of the early applicants for a recreational license??? I know what I think...
I don’t see the relevance to ACAN.
Even at 30%, they'd need to sell an awful lot of cannabis, edibles and vape carts to make a dent in what it'll cost to build ACAN's greenhouse of dreams. Bask is most likely paying at least 6K/month just to run the lights to grow the product
The stock price is almost intriguing down here but not at $4. I’d take some shares at the price they like to give their friends. Even that is a premium considering they have nothing but a concept
I don’t have 6 mil but you’re welcome to use yours. Unless someone’s willing to pay up to lease, nothing is going to be built. I doubt bask could support a place like that. Would take a lot of patients and people willing to pay a lot for weed. I saw bask’s med prices. Imagine what rec prices will look like. Who in Massachusetts is going to pay that except at a cannabis bar? I have real doubts there will be a demand for this type of place unless the price is right.
I have no idea what it is you're trying to say...
Bask Inc. is the only "plant house" that the CEO has at the moment and I believe it was fully funded by ACAN and it's shareholders. The CEO and his investor buddies still get rich and ACAN shareholders get to look at pretty renderings of "make believe" greenhouses that have never and probably will never be built. What recourse would anyone have against ACAN is they just closed their doors and gave up the greenhouse dream and kept the dispensary? It's buyer beware when you're playing with cannabis stocks
So, is he thinking ACAN is a front to funnel money to Bask, Inc with no real intention of building anything? The thought had crossed my mind. A couple guys get rich off the ACAN hype. It’s not out of the realm of possibility
What’s with the B.S. stories? There are no such reports of a federal raid today
There are many reasons to not believe in this company but, I don't think I'm buying into this claim.
The endless beat down of this stock over the lady couple weeks tells me nobody believes this company will ever realize their pipe dream or maybe insiders know the game is almost over so they’re dumping while they can still squeeze a profit.
Is there additional information that hasn't given in their filings? They claim to be transparent so I doubt they would withhold any information that shareholders and the public would deem important....
I'm sure they've already paid themselves back for the costs of going public. They can just keep making loans and give out warrants for more worthless stock.
I doubt those guys have lost a dime of their own money.
you're right. My bad. I guess they'll just simply disappear since they really don't have much skin in the game
My hunch is they sell the Freetown land back to the developer for another huge loss.
I guess the standard for “Certified B Corp” is rather low. Their idea of being transparent is talking about the Freetown project with some no name interviewer from a no name local rag online site. Any big news coming about this company couldn’t possibly be positive at this point. They just continue to bleed investors so they can open small grow operations and dispensaries in Mass.. The ceo and a few of his buddies will get rich and investors will be caught holding the bag
Try him at his dispensary. You can get the address and phone number at cometobask.com. That seems to be his only focus.
Looks like we're getting closer to those "accredited investor" prices...
I'm not sure if you know the area but, Fairhaven and Freetown not allowing recreational sales really isn't a big deal. Freetown would have allowed only one store even if it voted to allow it and Fairhaven is much larger. Recreational stores will be allowed in many of the surrounding towns and cities.
Lack of capital and execution is what holds this company back, not state and local policies. Recreational is coming on July 1 whether ACAN is ready or not. We all know that's a big NOT.
I see the lighting power density limits on cannabis cultivation as an advantage to ACAN. That's one of the things that originally attracted me to this company. The greenhouse model can easily meet the threshold. Any new warehouse facilities will have a difficult time. It can be done but, I'm sure it will be at the cost of some yield.
It's all a moot point since they can't seem to execute the plan.
The ban Freetown voted for was for retail "sales" only. It does not ban cultivators of recreational cannabis. The sample ballot it pretty clear and is on the town's website.
Hope I see SLTK at NECANN this weekend. Massachusetts recreational cultivation licenses start May 1
I just read there’s another company investing $7 million in Somerset for a 66K sf facility. Voters just approved zoning. ACAN is so far behind it not funny. They can’t even get a 30k sf greenhouse going. Again, wake me up when this is under $2/share.
Who cares? What good are approvals? Wake me up when they have funding to build out 1 million SF or when the stock price gets below $2... Better yet, wake me up when at least phase 1 starts getting built... Until then, no amount of hype is going to make this company worth buying again. I’ve heard nothing but hype for almost 2 years. This project was hyped up last winter and ground breaking was supposed to be last spring. Maybe the company should hold a conference call or something to let investors know what to expect and when to expect it. Nobody cares when and where the CEO is “presenting” yet that’s all the news they can come up with.
The new code only applies to new construction permits so existing lights don’t need to be replaced. It’s going to be an issue in many states. If the feds ever legalize, you can bet energy usage will be curbed. California will be right there too
These guys are really going to need to develop an LED fixture. I know my state has amended the building code to allow only 36 watts of lighting per square foot. Most growers are at 45-65 watts per square foot using 1000W HPS.
I read Tim is trying to get another dispensary in Dartmouth. I guess he needs to drum up product demand before he builds a greenhouse in which his dispensary co. Bask Inc. will be the only tenant. The only grower interested in his greenhouse is the one at Bask. The only "Preferred Partner" ACAN has. That one partner won't generate enough revenue to keep the dream alive
Thanks for confirming what's been said. The PR was a desperate attempt at pumping the stock price and trading volume. I'm not sure what they are planning to do with the multiple $800K loans they got recently. I wouldn't expect anything more than a flattened site and road work by the end of the year, all while taking on more and more debt. The clock is ticking on them. I have to say, this is the least transparent, transparent company I've ever heard of. No investor calls or any info by anyone from the company unless the CEO is "presenting" somewhere. Is that a "Certified B Corp"? I wanted to believe in the company but I feel duped instead
I think you are replying to the wrong post... I'm certainly not backing up a truck for this company unless it's a trash truck.
I'll believe there is significant construction going on when I see the site web cam displayed on the G.C.'s website with a lot of cars parked at the site and actual work happening. Until then, these pumping attempts will be ignored. Seriously, nice 22 second video of a dump truck driving on the site and 5 cars in the parking lot....
