Lizzy; yes, my Care Team prescribed me 100 day refills (I think?). Apparently, they'd sent my prescription to CVS. I didn't need it now, seems the younger generation doesn't know how to read. I specifically requested just a change to my quantity. They may not get it? I'll check with the pharmacy.
Thanks,
Nuke
Lizzy; yes, tragic for sure, just proves my point about Insurance Companies (my #3 on the hit list). They could care less about peoples health in general.
Inactive ingredients in Brand Vascepa: per the attached bottle label;
tocopherol - They are fat-soluble alcohols with antioxidant properties, important in the stabilization of cell membranes.
gelatin - a virtually colorless and tasteless water-soluble protein prepared from collagen and used in food preparation as the basis of jellies, in photographic processes, and in glue.
glycerin - a sweet syrupy trihydroxy alcohol obtained by saponification of fats and oils
malititol - a sugar alcohol, Sugar alcohols are found naturally in some fruits and vegetables. They're also considered carbohydrates.
sorbitol - a sugar, a sweet-tasting crystalline compound found in some fruit.
They don't list the % of each. Dang everything has sugar
funnygi; thanks for the link. I was able to get 1 gm Vascepa monthly cost of $45 with Humana. I have Humana with my Medicare Advantage Plan. My zip is 86322, it may be different for other zip codes, shouldn't be... but, you never know these days.
https://www.ehealthmedicareplans.com/v2?planYear=2023#/quote-plans/MA/86322/03120/YAVAPAI/ssd833755AF/14/p1/f2:drugs
Capt; too funny, thanks for the levity.
There's blood in the water alright.... that and $50 burritos. Wouldn't it be great if Amarin was a point of discussion? More share price escalation.
Tell that to the shareholders of Medco. You're entitled to your own opinion and what you do with your shares. As for me, I'm voting all my shares with EPADI and Alex Denner.
I'm not getting any younger.
Unbelievable; you dudes can stroke each others libido all you want. You know JesseLivermore warned us of not selling out to Big Pharma. Well, that was before the avalanche hit us.
If you think management has done a good job think again. Good job at what? Milking the company and shareholders out of stock options and rewarding themselves wonderful salaries. What have they done really? Only when Alex Denner had the cahones enough to call them out on their lavish lifestyles and bumbling of European acceptance of Vascepa.
Karim made a lot of promises which he hasn't kept. He's hired his old cronies and made sure they were paid well with no accountability and performance goals. Must be pretty nice to live in Zug, Switzerland on a $5 million + a year salary plus stock options. The "silence" is deafening. The non-communication is enough for me to cast my shares for Denner.
Only when approached with the threat of losing their jobs, have they decided to throw the shareholders a bone "with no meat." Show me the money
What is your plan? Because I don't think management has a plan. They still want to go it alone it. This is ludicrous. No partners, all lip service. This drug has a time value. The more time wasted the less chance we have of recovering our investment. Plain and simple.
The only reason the share price has gone up is because of Denner and those familiar with his track record have been buying shares in anticipation of what's about to happen. Denners plan is simple. Find a buyer, negotiate a decent price, do the deal.... Done, we're outta here.
Hopefully, its with a company that has a need for a great drug and pays a good dividend.
Duke; I knew. I just feel that Mitigate is very subjective. How does one measure the effectiveness of Vascepa on Covid?
My reasoning is, I’ve been on Vascepa for over 3 years. I’ve had Covid twice. This last bout was more serious than my first bout after the Ukraine.
I guess I’m not seeing what the hoopla is for helping Covid patients recover from Covid?
I was prescribed Paxlovid and Albuterol this time around. I didn’t take anything for my first bout with Covid. Although the symptoms were milder. I didn’t have Upper Respiratory problems.
That’s all I’m saying, I didn’t know or how would I know if Vascepa was helping with inflammation?
Vascepa didn’t do squat for the Covid I had. Since I’ve been taking V all along. Let’s not get our hopes up on Mitigate. Perhaps with Respect and Brave we’ll see some positive outcomes.
Pharmacy Dude; So, tell those folks who’ve been in Amarin for over 10 years? So, you’re saying we haven’t been patient enough? Wait how long before Amarin Management creates value for the investors, then sell?
R U kidding me?
DAR: What we don't know is all the workings going on behind the scenes. Like all the countries who've bought into reimbursement. The Italian sales team brought out by Sleven was very good to see, it gave me an insight to the people who were hired. This is great stuff. Did management send any of us a personal note as to the status of each country? Sure there's been a lot of effort by management. But, I'm afraid it's too little too late. It's been crickets for so long. Is giving the shareholders updates a "Secret?" Is this going to tip Amarin's hand to other companies in the same space?
"Pay for Performance" is a big deal for me since all my years as a Front-line employee depended upon my continuing contribution. What have you done for me lately?
It's about time somebody stuck up for the shareholders. The management surely hasn't.
Birdbrain: It's pretty simple really. One has to ask themselves; Do we believe in a Company with a current Management and Board of Directors who;
>Refused to support EPADI efforts for reinstating our patents
>Was silent for so long, incommunicado to it's shareholders and its failure to listen to shareholders.
>Supported "Dead Wood" directors at the cost of shareholder value
>Allowed themselves stock options and raises not based upon any performance goals
>Management and BOD was bereft of any accountability for their actions or inactions.
>Squandering of an Asset VASCEPA (Patent protection) which has a time value
>Did I leave anything out?
Alex Denner on the other hand;
>Provided some hope to the shareholders during times of dire need
>Supported an Open dialogue and made his desires known to Amarin. Amarin refused to acknowledge and therefore we have the "Terse Letter" written by a drunk person? Really? I'd be pissed off as well, if I owned 25 million shares and management dissed me or my opinions.
>Denner's track record speaks for itself. He's not a corporate marauder, he's a saviour to those of us who believe in this drug. and have spent years over a decade of loyalty to Vascepa.
>Denner mirrors the desire of many on this board, we only wish he will be successful in making things right.
>Did I leave anything out?
I'm thinking buy it now while we're still below $2. Market takes a bit to react to such news and figure out who the good guys are.
Me bad, sell low, re-buy high. That's alright, I'm still on the right side of the dirt.... Kind of makes you feel sorry for those who sold and haven't left or left.... hint, hint, wink, wink....
I may have lost money selling too early, but buying back is the smarter thing to do at this point. I don't think we see the share price cratering at this point. This can only be viewed as good news for us beleaguered shareholders.
GLTA,
Nuke
Interesting to see what effect this News will have on the share price? Market reaction may be a wait and see....? IMHO, this is very positive for us the shareholders, it's time is way past due...
Shake-ups are usually not good news, but in our case.."thumbs up"
See? I sold some shares and the share price went up, never fails...
swg_tdr; will do either way, we'll see what my Nurse Practitioner says, then go from there. If successful, it'll be some time before I do my next refill, probably April-May time period.
take care,
Nuke
lizzy, this is what I just wrote to my PCP;
Good morning, I'm requesting a change to my VASCEPA prescription intervals. I would like to change my prescription from 90 days to 100 days with an automatic refill at 100 day intervals. According to some information I've received, insurance companies allow this change due to end of year "Donut hole" effect. Last year (December 2022) I paid an additional $250 for my last 90 day script for VASCEPA. Sources have told me that with the additional 10 days added, that I wouldn't cost any extra and is allowed by my insurance company. Let me know if this is possible, thank you.
Any updates or changes let me know, thanks again,
Nuke
Pfizer made a bundle in 2022 and presumably it will make a bundle in 2023 and beyond with Paxlovid. The medication works, the Chinese need it, they can't produce it fast enough.
Hmmm Dr. Stewart Chief Medical Officer @ GlaxoSmithKline. I'm not going to conjecture anything at this point, no sense in getting our hopes up. If it's going to happen, it happens.
Dr. Stewart if you can read faces? It's about time Amarin got some experienced Board members. He looks rather young for someone with 30 year of experience? And he has "Hair"... :D)

Thanks Lizzy, you've explained it well. I'll call my PCP and make sure she updates her records. Alas, my current Nurse Practitioner is retiring, so I'll need to break-in her replacement. Hopefully, I won't get any pushback. Every little bit helps nowadays.
So, I'm going to request (3) 100 day refills for 2023, correct? I'll also have to setup mail delivery through Humana
Who woulda known that you could do this?
Happy as a clam this morning.... :D) Amarin north of 20% up @ 1.80....Yipppeee!!
TU,
Nuke
Website is fixed. Pinch me the stock is up 18%....:D)
North: Impressive, but not nearly enough generating capacity. Wave technology has been around for quite some time. I've seen articles where they've done this in Scotland, way before this young woman's time. Although her design has merit, unless the concept is built to such numbers it is a drop in the bucket comparatively speaking. Any idea what the generating outputs are for this device? As a typical American's Power consumption is out of control.
Now, with the electric cars being added to an already taxed electrical grid. Imagine, each electric vehicle charging is like running a 30 amp welder full blast for 8 hrs. There would have to be millions upon millions of these installed along shore lines. They would require security measures to prevent vandalism.
The keyword here is; Large Baseload Generating Units that run 24/7 for long periods of time. Surrounded by Triple security fencing with Concertina Wire and guard dogs.
Izzy; I don't understand? So, you order (3) 100 day (400 capsules) + 100 (400 capsules) + 100 (400 capsules) good for = 300 days worth? What about the remaining 65 days?
DAR: very good, 42% that was higher than I thought. I don't think I can use GoodRx with my Medicare Advantage. My Humana Rep sad Mail order Vascepa would cost me $70 for 30 days (120 capsules). So, we're very close.
I'll find out come April-May when I get my next script.
ralphey; if you're talking hydroelectric power just the opposite happens. Utilities pump at night and run turbines during the day. Provided they have enough water in the reservoirs. Lake Powell (Glen Canyon Dam) and Lake Mead (Hoover Dam) are at the historical lows. They're not producing any power. You do present an interesting point however. Running simultaneous systems (generator) and (pumps) is not very cost efficient as this cuts into Utility profits. Utilities want to maximize profits, so, they'll produce power during the day and sell it at Peak prices. They'll pump at night using Off-peak power.
Renewable like Photovoltaic particularly, the electricity would have to be stored, to be used afterhours. This would require huge battery banks (not cost effective). There are Solar Generators (focused arrays on a tower). That provide Thermal energy that drives a turbine generator. This thermal energy can be stored and run the turbine. This only works for a few hours after the sun goes down.
https://www.energy.gov/lpo/solanaCollector
The dilemma, particularly in California, is you have huge daytime demand especially in the summer. AC requirements are probably the number #1 user of electricity. Hence the dilemma with having expensive renewables with no backup for night time off-peak loads.
California cut off it's nose to spite it's face. Our country has 435 years of coal deposits left. 90 years worth of uranium. Wind generators need replacing, photovoltaic panels last about 20 years max,
Sorry California, but your screwed, better get your Nukes back up and generating before you don't have enough power to run your blenders. Charging an electric car? Fat chance.
An example of how to do it; France generates 70% plus of it's electricity needs using Nuclear Power. Germany (3 Nukes), they buy extra nuclear power from France. Which country is worse off during an energy crisis? Anyone, anyone? Now couple that with the Russian oil sanctions and "You my friends have the Perfect Storm.". France should be able to reimburse. Stick that up your periscope Germany.
Std: there’s a lot Cali could do with the extra power (albeit expensive $$). They could build centralized chillers for the downtown buildings. We have them in Phoenix. Basically, you’re freezing salt water in huge containers. And running your chilled water lines through this ice. This is for Air Conditioning of these huge buildings. Although in Phoenix we use “off peak” electricity for this and use the chilled water during the day.
As for Diablo Canyon, don’t be too upset. Nuclear power plants are built very robust. Not like Chernobyl or Fukushima. Diablo Canyon is a System 80 design, very robust, similar to a Nuclear Submarine.
As for San Andreas fault being near the Nuke Plant. I’ve heard that the fault itself is far enough out from the coast as to not cause a problem. Besides buildings have to be built in accordance with codes. Look at Japan “Earthquake Capital” you got to get power from somewhere.
Don’t worry North the Kalifornia Kalamity Kids (tree huggers) will be all over this.
It’ll endanger a rare species of sea plankton as the waves turn turbines inside the “Wave” machine. Or what happens if little Johnnie runs into one on his surfboard? Lawsuits galore
Marjac, that’s about right. You’re getting a break. I paid $575 for 90 days @ Costco for my wife’s Vascepa. That was using the $9 Vascepa card too. That was last year.
If I calculated it right, you’re paying roughly $3000 annually for Vascepa.
Zip; true retail price for Vascepa is around $1000 for a 90 script. Which is $333 for 30 days. How do I know this? Because I had reached my yearly allowance ($4200) under BCBS last month. My last script of Vascepa cost me $226. I had other scripts filled during the year, but I had run over my allowance.
Now that I’m on Medicare Advantage, my allowance through Humana has gone up. $4600 per year. I’ll see what happens this year.
I was wrong it was Nyhiem Hines from Buffalo. I thought he'd said Damar Hamlin...
Ramfan: Wow... you were right, Damar Hamlin took the opening kick-off in for a touchdown in todays game between the Bills & Patriots. Cardinals got smacked by the 49ers 38-13. Youch.
Cardinals used a 4th string quarterback and a lot of Rookies.
Thanks jasbg; I apologize, I do believe I could watch this using Kanopy (with ads). Of course it means loading Kanopy signing up, which I don't care to do. Because for some reason you get inundated with spam after you do it. I'll figure out something. maybe Youtube has it? I just don't want to pay for watching any movies.
TIA,
Nuke
Nope, thanks again, great stuff. date of the publication? Luca Ruffini is still working for Amarin I suppose?
Sorry jasbg; NADA on all 3 links. Only available in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
Wow, just google the Faroe Islands, what beautiful scenery. Cold, but beautiful. No trees. Lots of fishing I bet.
Thanks Sleven, Wow.... I started peeling the onion skins. There appears to be some really motivated, focused folks working for Amarin in Italy. Good find.
This beats reading the sports page. So many positions. You'd think this is a legitimate company or something? :D) Someone's been working hard to develop this talent.
Reassures my belief in the company.
Thanks,
Nuke
jasbg; I have Amazon Prime. I found the movie, but I'm unable to play it. It said movie is unavailable in my location. It will probably be a rent or buy when it does become available.
Is this title "Free" in your region? I'm going to check Netflix, as I'm on family share.
What I find most frustrating with Streaming TV especially here in the USA. The idea of cord cutting seemed to be a big fad about 1-2 years ago. This idea has vaporized into something really sleezy. When Streaming first came out it was "hot." Now, not so much. There's too much, too many subscription services offering the same things with their little twists. When you're finally able to get the programming you want, you're paying just as much as before with cable or satellite. Very frustrating as a consumer. Everybody wants your money.....
Would I pay $5 to watch my sports team play an ad free game....hmmmm? Surely not more.
TIA,
Nuke
Interesting analogy isn't it? If the people working for Karim Mikhail feel compelled to excel or not under his leadership? Of course a lot of times managers surround themselves with people who share the same values and goals. Those outside the "Circle" (Meet the Fokkers) find other employment.
This of course is outside the Upper management "Pleasers". I'm talking the front-line folks.
Ramfan; I've been pondering about what you said about coaching. We (AZ Cardinals) need a clipboard throwing, yelling, in your face coach. You act too mamby-pamby and players disrespect you. If nationalities have anything to do with coaching, then the temperaments of these coaches below attest to that. I understand genealogy isn't the only factor. It's also environment, parenting and the all knowing word "Kismet" that unmeasurable quality most good coaches have the ability to motivate players. A "mental toughness". A good team reflects a good coach. The word "team chemistry" not only applies to sports, but our workaday world. Think back over one's career and you'd be able to pick out the best boss's. Their the one's you'd work the hardest for, giving it the best you got.

Thanks Bouf, how much is it? Is it seasonal? In other words, can I sign up just for the season?
Invest; good to know, our notes seem to match pretty good. Today, I cleaned house, did some laundry, butchered the hog (just kidding).... :D)
No, I don't disagree with your assessment. Paxlovid seems to work, at first I was hesitant with all the hoopla with the vaccines, boosters, face mask theories, face shields, ect, then I decided to take the nurses advice and try Paxlovid.
Its the folks with the face masks and face shields with their dogs in the shopping carts that I'm utterly amazed with. And those driving their cars with face masks on. Really?
I'd gotten the Johnson & Jansen vaccine, that was enough for me, never had a reaction.
Here's hoping I made it through flu season once again. Thanks for the confirmation
Strange? I went through Yahoo portal and went to Profile. Clicked on Amarin Company Link how I normally do and the new page comes up, I'm unable to navigate anywhere?
jasbg; I do have Prime, thanks, I'll do that with the missus. She's a musician, so she'll like it.
