I like to think that every day more and more shares are going into the hands of longer term holders, making less and less shares available for daily trading. This should inevitably lead to a very nice sustained pop.
* StockScouter rates stocks from 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, using a system of advanced mathematics to determine a stock's expected risk and return.
* Ratings are displayed on a bell curve, meaning there will be fewer ratings of 1 and 10 and far more of 4 through 7.
Very nice. This may account for the recent run up in SP.

The Company generated revenues of $3.35 million in the 2010 third quarter, representing $452,691 or 19% increase compared to $2.81 million in the 2009 third quarter. Revenue from our China operations increased $421,359 or 19% from $2.19 million in the 2009 third quarter to $2.61 million in the 2010 third quarter. Revenue from our Australia operations has increased by $121,332 or 19% from $622,921 in the 2009 third quarter to $744,253 in the 2010 third quarter. The increase in revenue from China operations is partially because of the investment in the waste paper and cardboards recycling business from June 2010. Although exports of materials from Australia are still suffering from the global financial crisis, our Australia operation business is gradually recovering.
Yesterday I received letters from TD Waterhouse saying that they will begin charging a $100 transaction fee for NSAs held after Dec 31, 2010, and an annual custody per position of $250. The 4 non-standard assets that HRCT spun-off would now cost a pretty penny to hold. I redeemed all my positions as worthless.

This question was specifically addressed during the Q&A. The 5-10 projection was tempered down, but not totally discarded. Part of the projection was pushed forward one quarter.
This would be one of the 5-10 projected in the Q2 CC. More to come before year end.
That's great. All the more for us.
A reader in today’s SF Chronicle posed a question regarding the best way to remember his “10 million” passwords. David Einstein, the Chronicle’s “Computing Q&A” answer man responded with a recommendation for Master Lock Vault, “a new service that let’s you store and retrieve all your access information in one place online. It uses 256-bit encryption… the service is free and there’s an I-Phone app for it.” (www.masterlock.com/masterlockvault/)
The site took me about 15 minutes to navigate and set up a test vault. So if I store passwords here, I can access the site, look up what I could not remember, and then continue on my merry way.
I sent Mr. Einstein a letter regarding TPM’s and WAVX software, which in addition to other aspects of security, allows the storage of passwords in a secure vault on the user’s PC. Store it there and you do not even need to remember it.
Of course I included the URL to my WAVX timeline: http://timelines.ws/subjects/WaveSystems.HTML
I suspect every major city has a similar PC “Q&A guru.” All of these guys need to be notified of TPMs and the WAVX solution. This issue is clearly gaining public attention.
Shares tomorrow may not be that cheap. Who's going to sell when the next quarter is projected as Wave's best to date? Perhaps a few, disappointed by today's number's, may opt out. I do not think many shares will become available at much lower prices. Knowing what you know would you be short here? The general prognosis is very strong, not only for the near term, but well into the long term.
A bit of summary:
Internal expansion and associated expenses to meet rising demand
Large customer active thru HP channel, significant monthly revenue expected
OEM opportunities to develop over the next 12 month… including Lenovo
SED demand growing in Europe
Q4 shaping up as strongest ever
Growing pipeline, strong repeat order base
PW moving to 80,000 seats and continuing to 150,000 seats
Government awareness high, progress expected ion 2011
System integrators need to move forward
E-sign, licensed by Xerox, growing and currently cash neutral
Enormous emerging market
Small customer servers to come live in 2011
5-10 large deals still possible for close in 2010, a few are very solid for Q4
2011 rev estimate of 45mil plus is reasonable
Management of BitLocker is available to enterprises on a per seat basis @ $45/seat
Market still being pulled forward.
Oh...
Oh....
Oh.....
I get so excited every time a CC comes around.
I just can't wait for Monday to roll in.
Despite past disappointments...
One of these days it will be a very good one for sure!!
Cyber security in the news:
2010 Nov 4, European computer guards battled against a simulated attempt by hackers to bring down critical Internet services in the first pan-continental test of cyber defences. All 27 of the EU member nations as well as Iceland, Norway and Switzerland took part in the simulation. The USA held its own major exercise against a large-scale cyber attack on critical infrastructure in late September with 12 international partners and 60 private companies. Cyber security will be one of the top issues that NATO leaders will tackle at a summit of the 28-nation military alliance in Lisbon on November 20-29.

I have a little theory that WAVX could be at the heart of a virtual butterfly that takes wing with government contracts. This theory centers around Wave Systems, but includes all WAVX partners and the whole cohort of the TCG. When government contracts begin to kick in Wave SP will rapidly climb. The SP of all associated partners should also rise and share holders in all the associated companies will begin to see their investments turn profitable. This broadly-based advance could well kick start a major move in the technology sector and in turn the whole stock market. Shareholders across the board will be rewarded and will become more willing to spend on consumer goods and other larger ticket items, which have been put off. This in turn should lead to improvements in the labor market as companies hire to meet rising demand. This scenario should play out strongly in 2011 and well into 2012. I am hoping to see some validation of this with the Nov 8 CC. Opinions to the contrary are most welcome.
Anybody here still holding their ETAK shares? It appears to be growing as a real operation.
At least 7.4 mil in rev.
I have decided that my WAVX timeline file (http://timelines.ws/subjects/WaveSystems.HTML) should include government and corporate activities that appear to be significantly relevant to the historic development of the hardware-based security story. This was prodded by a recent report in which Intel unveiled a deal to buy German chipmaker Infineon Technologies AG's wireless unit for $1.4 billion.” I am hoping that this re-assessment will broaden access to the understanding of Wave Systems and its role in the development of the hardware-based security story. Any post here documenting this will be considered for inclusion into the WAVX timeline. The following is a quick sample look at Wave and Infineon related stories back to 2002:

2003 Mar 6, Wave Systems Is Key Partner of Infineon Technology's Silicon Trust Partnership Program.

2005 Nov 9, Members of the Trusted Computing Group have elected representatives from Infineon, Seagate Technologies and Wave Systems to the organization's board of directors for a one-year term. Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is an open industry standards organization whose specifications help vendors build products that let users protect critical data and information across a variety of devices and platforms.

2006 Feb 15, Our prime competitor in this space is Infineon. Infineon builds chips. They’ve also built a software stack that works with their chip. One of Infineon’s biggest disadvantages is that their software only runs with Infineon’s chips. Wave’s software today runs on Infineon chips, ST Micro chips, Atmel chips, Winbond chips and Broadcom chips.

Nice:
The FiReGlobal : West Coast Conference is proud to announce that Wave Systems Corp. has been selected as a FiReStar company. In addition to passing the challenges of similar competitions, FiReStar companies, both local and global, are chosen for their potential to bring large-scale positive change to the world.
“Wave Systems is going to show Conference attendees something they thought was impossible, in today’s increasingly dangerous world: hack-proof security down to the device. Anyone interested in moving their enterprise into this world should make a point of attending and meeting their team,” said Mark Anderson, CEO of SNS, Chair of FiRe and FiReGlobal: West Coast.
What's your horizon for the next pop?
Nice. Thank you.
Not a very inspiring CC. Looks like SP will tread water until more word comes of the pending merger.
I was very surprised by today's market action re: STX.
Pending takeover and expected good report tomorrow...
We shall see...
Seagate CC Wednesday at 2PM, Pac. time.
The 2000 "no E" trades represent the last time HRCT traded before the "E" and shows up when a quote for "HRCT" is requested.
Yes. There's a Seagate board. Take a look.
You're right. I missed the date at the bottom.
I still think we're on the verge of something.
SP is up some 30 cents over the last 4 trading days.
Friday will be very interesting due to options expiration.
For me to exercise my few options the WAVX SP would need to pass 2.60, and I would need to sell an equal amount of current shares.
Am wondering what might be the impact to Wave if Seagate goes private. My initial guess is no immediate impact modified by less than normal future public disclosures on the part of Seagate.
News in this sector is coming in pretty fast these days, even if not directly from WAVX. Thus the wonderful value of this board.
Nice find. Multiple mention of Wave Systems.
Seagate Technology plc (NASDAQ:STX) announced today that it has received a preliminary indication of interest regarding a going private transaction. The company is in discussions with the party from whom it received the indication of interest, and its board of directors is evaluating the indication of interest and other strategic alternatives. The company has retained Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated and Perella Weinberg Partners LP to provide financial advice and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Arthur Cox as legal counsel. There is no assurance that the company will receive a formal offer or that any transaction will take place.
WAVX up in afterhours to 2.53.
Those who bought the Oct 2.50 calls only may gain if shares close above 2.50. Those who sold calls do gain if shares close at or below 2.50.
If SP moves above 2.50, holders of calls will either exercise their calls or sell them, most likely at a loss depending on how much they paid to get them, unless the SP moves up substantially during the day.
There are not that many open calls... 1279 showing on TD America. Options do have some affect here, it's just hard to tell how much.
Here's a little look back at the Wave-Hitachi relationship:

2009 Jan 27, WAVX today announced its support for a new industry specification to enable stronger data protection and help organizations comply with increasingly tough regulations aimed at preventing a data breach. The first public version of the Trusted Computing Group's Opal security subsystem storage specification was announced today, giving vendors a "blueprint" for developing self-encrypting drives that secure data. Wave has developed or is working on Opal-compliant FDE solutions with Fujitsu, Toshiba and Hitachi, along with its currently shipping FDE solution with Seagate.

2010 Jun 8, Wave Systems Corp. announced today that the current production version of its EMBASSY(R) security software is compatible with Hitachi Global Storage Technologies' (Hitachi GST) Travelstar(TM) self-encrypting hard drives (SEDs) available through Hitachi's worldwide distribution channels this month. The drives (specific models listed below) are some of the first commercially available self-encrypting hard drives based on Opal, the Trusted Computing Group's storage specification that defines a set of drive security features. Wave EMBASSY management software (available separately from Wave's channel partners, resellers and direct from Wave) provides IT managers with robust capabilities for deploying, administering and managing Hitachi's SEDs.

No idea. I keep the box hidden. Ask the new moderators. Better be quick. They may be gone very soon.
That is still to be determined.
Interesting. Now we shall see if anybody else sees value here.
Busy evening. Nice work. Thank you!
