I have decided that my WAVX timeline file (http://timelines.ws/subjects/WaveSystems.HTML) should include government and corporate activities that appear to be significantly relevant to the historic development of the hardware-based security story. This was prodded by a recent report in which Intel unveiled a deal to buy German chipmaker Infineon Technologies AG's wireless unit for $1.4 billion.” I am hoping that this re-assessment will broaden access to the understanding of Wave Systems and its role in the development of the hardware-based security story. Any post here documenting this will be considered for inclusion into the WAVX timeline. The following is a quick sample look at Wave and Infineon related stories back to 2002:

2002 Nov 18, Dow Jones Coverage of Wave/Infineon TPM.

2005 Nov 9, Members of the Trusted Computing Group have elected representatives from Infineon, Seagate Technologies and Wave Systems to the organization's board of directors for a one-year term. 2006 Feb 15, Our prime competitor in this space is Infineon. Infineon builds chips. They’ve also built a software stack that works with their chip. One of Infineon’s biggest disadvantages is that their software only runs with Infineon’s chips. Wave’s software today runs on Infineon chips, ST Micro chips, Atmel chips, Winbond chips and Broadcom chips.
