apparently there is more to the story of the sobbing women getting booted off, either her seat mates were unaware or condoned her "F" bomb laden rant earlier (before video started) she refused to sit down so the flight could depart, after repeated requests. and she used more than the traditional "F" bomb, responding to the male flight attendant, by calling him a" F*@*ing F@##ot" not everyone may agree but "bye felicia" i wouldn't wanna pay money to have my family have to sit on a plane listening to this woman or anyone else talk like that, in front of women and children, she was non compliant and in breach of more than one FAA regulation, intimidating crew members, threatening behavior (verbal), and non compliant with a safety request. (thats just to start with)
heard a rumor about more expansion into Asia, once we get Haneda going and Sydney in Dec. rumors of Aukland, as well as cities in Asia. heard there were some really good deals going to Hong Kong, i work F/C, but if your on, i will take care of you.
i have only had to remove someone once (thankfully) and it was a family of 5 (husband, wife, 9YO, 4YO, and lap child.) they had fought, screamed and threw tantrum with basically everyone they encountered. when they came on they insisted on sitting in 9 DEF(3 seats) - (5 people). it was a light load, so suggested they spread out and get comfortable, (didn't work). then explained, would be necessary as there were only 4 masks above the 3 seats, no luck, tried the kindness, tried the necessary, finally as this woman is just refusing to "separate" even after i explained there would be no oxygen for one of you should there be a decompression. and i was only asking they sit in 9 AB directly across the aisle, she still was refusing, and was like if i don't sit where I want then nobody is going. she was vulgar, abusive and more, but when the cops came she turned on the water works, and screamed abuse. when in actuality it was about the safety. she claimed it was her right, if she wanted to risk it
the video doesn't show the incident, just the aftermath, but it "appears" they were boarding and she refused to let anyone pass till she was ready, and even after a flight attendant asked her to step aside, to let some others pass, she still refused, i heard her say she didn't realize f/a was talking to her, and it is unfortunate, but i wasn't there, her treatment was bad in the video (but there really is not a nice way to kick someone off a plane). a less civilized society every day.
a lot of crazies, i have seen folks go full on "whack-a-doodle" at gate or TSA and then walk on plane like an angel, most of time its psgr on psgr conflict, the employee-psgr conflicts make better headlines, some folks confuse a airplane ticket with a lotto ticket and literally instigate shenanigans for a lawsuit. not that low wages and low employee morale doesn't have a cost, but most employees just looking to get thru the day with low drama, and being mean and ugly is too much work. unfortunate to loose a customer, ever, but the vast majority are going to buy the cheapest ticket they can, going where they want around the time they need to get there. they aint going to pay a couple hundred more dollars to fly another carrier cause they once saw or experienced poor customer service. fortunately (like a bad haircut) they are rare, but not much you can do about it. i see good things the next few months. GLTA
not a good video, but i will just say, two sides to every story, not even the folks sitting there may really know the whole story, a lot of crazies out there, and one person can jeopardize the safety of ALL on board, so i just tell people to follow the rules (like everyone else) and complain once on the ground. nothing wrong with asking, just don't get in a grudge match with folks holding trump cards.
Sky-high September traffic
September 2015 traffic was up 7.2 percent versus September 2014, with total revenue passenger miles for the month being 18.1 billion. Total capacity was 21.9 billion available seat miles, up 3.7 percent versus the same period a year ago. Total passenger load factor was 82.7 percent, up 2.7 points versus September 2014. Our traffic, capacity and load factor each broke records for the month. We continue to expect our third quarter 2015 consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to be down approximately six to eight percent and our third quarter pretax margin excluding special items to be between 17 and 18 percent.
get her now, she's gonna bounce.......
No peaks and valleys today? Thought I was looking at wrong stock. Still not 50. But I will breath better above 44.
its time to check the books, where is the DOJ now? somebody is making some money. and when you are the largest most profitable airline in the world.....and shareholders get this....HMMMM
can someone post the earnings dates for everyone, isn't it about to be a new earnings report every day? like 5/6/7/8?
bargain shopping, emptying the cooking jar, piggy bank, and holding off on home improvements, didn't think i would see these prices again, betting this will be sweet in several weeks, let alone several months
well, that was kinda an ugly roller coaster day,
48.00 by OCT 8th? totally doable, thoughts?
very quiet on here, was expecting a busy short week, announcements start weds, right? AAL's fri?
suspicious reporting, its not uncommon for a chunk of ice to fall off a plane and hit a house, its not uncommon for a piece of trim, sheathing or gear flap/door to shear off, its rare, but not unheard of, by no means is this the first (or last) runway approach light at the start of the runway, that got clipped, hell there is even a lil probe on the back tail underside of some planes that let the pilot know the angles too steep when taking off and the tail is about to scrape. this is such minutia, no one got hurt, no one was even aware of most of these situations, far worse happens daily around the world, must be slow news day, fuel savings-every flight, company synergies-every flight, contract in place-every flight, one plane departs without enough soft drinks-stock tanks. go figure
ready for that 45 degree climb rest of day to 45.(starting in 10
yes, today was fun, i will be just fine, a dollar a day for a week, will be just fine.
sorry but a lot of employees will be selling shares tomorrow, we need the money, (to live on)
hoping the drop was yesterday, but employees are finding out right now, about our portion of the stock held back to cover lawsuits, well we petitioned for it, judge wouldn't release it all but some of it since the legal payouts have been less than expected. the shares are so small that many flight attendants will get zero (because the amount is not equal to a whole share, (they get nothing cause they are rounding it down. avg is 4 shares, if $ amount owed me was just 4 more dollars, i would have got 5 shares (37.50/41.50)th oh well, another distribution, is another distribution, yeaaahhh, lets hope judge settles this finally and gives the share holders their piece of the pie thats being held back
so looking to buy new car, (cash) i should wait till Nov 1st. thanks for info. held on this long, might as well try and squeeze what i can, from her, still have core, but eager to get some things done with my fluff. i have 1250 of my 3K fluff shares that i bought at 48.00 (when we started dropping off that wonderful 56.00) who knew it would drop that far. but just want my fluff back at 48.00. not loosing any on this beast. holding core to 58.00-60.00 and then i am looking for something new. but this has been best, most supportive, least negative group i have been in, thanks guys, for a life changer
well we have done everything else, i concur, lets try paying down a bit of the debt and see if that works, we have tried everything else. can't hurt. whats the date for 3Q and the next guesstimated potential for share price uptick? OCT. 17th i think someone mentioned
sounds like the greek debt plan is finalized. now if only we can recover from THIER bad news
i see "ancillary" fees are not exclusive to the U.S.
i can tell you, while the airlines make money on your checked bag fees (now), they definitely do NOT want to charge you, or want you to check bags, period. cause they know they loose customers to fees and they loose cargo space with your luggage. they very much prefer cargo (which is where the money is) the psgr tkt profits are razor thin. if you doubt it try shipping your bag (say 40-50 lbs.) either USPS or fed ex. as compared to the fees on extra luggage. and your right, if everyone carried there luggage on and stowed it themselves (thats like free labor and storage for the airlines) but if you check it, they have to hire people to load it, unload it, calculate weight and balance, take off profitable cargo, not to mention, the lost bags or claims for damage. while i miss the all inclusive days, myself, to get the low fares, its become ala carte'. you rarely book a hotel, and expect free drinks, free laundry, free min bar, free whatever anymore, and so too the airlines have trimmed, leaving the choice to the customer whether they want to pay for it or not. internationally (not as bad as it used to be) i still see people moving like it is "allied van" movers, with unbelievable amount of luggage. i myself have shipped my luggage ahead to cruise ship (it was a 3 week-er) and wasn't gonna shlep it. and for a few bucks more, it was worth it
what is the date, of the dividend, those who hold stock as of?. __(1st of AUG?)_____, will receive shares
on what date?____18th__?_____august, lets hope the lawyers and execs don't take too much
we did better when we were loosing Billions
yes, this is garbage, should be 47 today, and i don't care about the shoulda, coulda, woulda with the chinese market, or the "inquiry" into a free market (if you don't like airlines making a profit you shouldn't have deregulated them) or even the greece thing. other than higher than "the other guys" debt, all good news, fuel our biggest expense (or was) can literally make any problem go away by throwing money at it, the model built on 100 a barrel oil, was gonna be even better with more fuel efficient planes. even if it is gonna be a while before we see 58-62 share price that i can live with, but they should stabilize this price with the buybacks, to prevent these huge swings. this is crazy, this volatility is good for no one. even the day traders are gonna get bitten, eventually.

what are dividend dates? in AUG, right?
i think strong leadership, needs, to pull, the trigger, and starts some buybacks to put this ps where it needs to be, or buyback some of our debt, both will have great impact on pos
... we need social media to light up with pressure to take action. his job is to make share holders happy, WEEL.L, let see it, do something
makes no sense at all, even in Vegas you know the odds, going in, this makes less sense than a coin toss
there is so many rules, regulations, scheduled maintenance, un scheduled maintenance, repairs, scheduling, a/c substitutions, a/c taken out of service, and then their is management, can you say fickle, make a plan and take action. jjjeeezz. its a mazing the plane ever gets off the ground with how many people it takes to ultimately sign off before its ok to take off. but we are still better than, and always will be better than UNIT*D. somebody needs to whip that red headed step child
