What do you mean?
It’s up from under $.20 at start of year. Ups and downs. If you believe in the future the day to day changes in SP are pretty irrelevant.
And if you DON’T believe, same thing
Their FB page just posted that they’re adding the product of the year logo on their packaging.
I think that’s a strong move
They sell ice cream to the distributors and supermarkets. Sounds like lots of resellers want to buy it for such a new product.
They don't sell to the consumers in the supermarket any more than Heinz ketchup or Preparation H do.
Wholesale IS the marketplace. Wholesale is the Meijer chain and other chains and distributors that you kept insisting were scams. Remember?
If wholesale is not the marketplace, what is it?
And sounds like the share count is the same as what you posted back on 3/19 in post 2363. So, are you trying to imply today when you say "finally"? You mean, finally 2 weeks ago?
When you say you watch the RSI, is that 1 day? 5 days? 30?
I see in Ameritrade each chart timeframe has its own RSI and they are different based on the timeframe
Which one do you focus on?
Kind of agree with him. Thought it would end up down much more than 10%
I imagine they will do what’s required to meet the demand
They’ve put that goal of 10k stores out there publicly a bunch of times already and I’m sure they understand what’s involved
Looks like Jim Christianson has been around the block once or twice
Good point.
Although like one of the other posters said, if their biggest problem is how to supply 10k stores later this year, well, that’s definitely a great problem to have (although still a problem)
Really good segment!
Which part?
That’s a question. I’m not a trader
Should have been “does it look like shorting?”
They’re in Boston, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco and more
Better to have lots of publicity than none, but yes, it would be better if more people could get the product. Takes time
Yup. Somebody didn’t like it
Looks like shorting?
Here’s the paragraph from the release. Doesn’t sound like they sold assets other than inventory of their products.
Any reason for you to think this is not just from sales of products?
Seems to me that putting this out there without mentioning they sold off assets (like vehicles and such??) would constitute misleading info
Here you go, from 2/26 release
“The Company has already shipped product to fulfill the initial Wonder purchase order, which was received on February 19. As of the date of this release, Nightfood revenues to date for the current quarter have surpassed the $102,188 reported for the quarter ending September 30, 2018, making this the highest revenue quarter in Company history. “
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nightfood-ice-cream-expands-california-140100596.html
It was mentioned in the news release. Highest compared to the previous highest.
You do read the releases right?
The previous high was a bit over $100k, so they had that beat sometime in late February
Yup. Looks like paying the licensing fee for the rights to use the product of the year logo is paying off in a huge way
Another great move by management!
Good point!!!
Couldn’t agree more
What do you mean no sales numbers? Weeks ago they announced they had surpassed their highest revenue quarter ever.
So, when you say “no sales numbers” please clarify what you mean by that
What do you mean “nothing more”? They’ve got distribution in over a dozen states, tons of media, rave reviews on the ice cream, and reports from consumers it is selling out
You said a few weeks ago it’s all about revenues, well they announced last month they had already recorded their highest revenue quarter ever
That’s a lot more than hype
This is not a company hyping itself. This is national and local media hyping the product
Big difference
Think about why media covers a product? Do you think they paid Fox business, fast company, the Washington post?
Or do you think they are covering the ice cream because they think it’s of interest to consumers?
Which?
Sacramento morning show
They posted this on FB and said it coincides with the the launch in Northern California
https://gooddaysacramento.cbslocal.com/video/4047432-nightfood-ice-cream/
I said it last week. The amount of media is really something
The media coverage is seriously impressive. Every day there’s another big hit
I’m long and a believer
Just wanted to clarify your post. If somebody comes on and sees you say it’s not selling because it tastes bad they will have exactly the wrong idea
Long-time lurker on this board. Always appreciated your input. Prescient.
I'm just saying your post wasn't clear. This to me looks like you're saying it's both bad and not selling:
the product is not selling out because it sucks.
I’m not sure he didn’t use too many negatives which didn’t make it unambiguous regarding what he wasn’t trying not to say
Wait. Are you saying the product sucks and it’s not selling out?
Our are you saying the product is really good and that’s why it’s selling out?
It sounds like you’re saying it sucks and is selling poorly, but I thought you were the guy the other day who said it was good??
Likely some on this board bought in the teens and sold all/some in the 60’s, 70’s or 80’s
if you want the answer to the volume question, you may need to look no further than the twitter feed of Timothy Sykes
He posted about NGTF in early Feb, and again on tuesday
probably mostly day-traders but who knows?
And why were there sellers at $.20 in December? Different people see different things. That’s what makes a market and horse races
The PR that went out 3 full trading days ago?
I remember you had concerns about low volume before the weekend and now concerns about high volume? What is the appropriate amount of volume you’re targeting here for this stock?
Best part of that article is when it says
“Nearly half (48 percent) of millennials say "in bed watching TV" is where they choose to enjoy ice cream, “
That’s pretty freakin specific.
I guess it’s a double edged sword
Do you follow their Facebook feed?
Great find....any idea where their next chain will be?
Do you guys follow the FB feed? A few months ago they posted a video of Folkson sampling the ice cream from a plain white container and somebody pointed out it looked like he had a Meijer nametag on
So much info on that feed if you’re an investor.
But yes, of course they taste the product. That doesn’t mean consumers will like it. Products do get on shelf and then fail all the time.
#JustSayin
Just saying it’s one thing to sell it TO the supermarkets. Then it’s another challenge to sell it TO the consumers
New products get in to stores all the time and then fail because the consumers either don’t bother to try the product or they try it and don’t like it or don’t repurchase for some reason
Not saying that will be the case here, but we can’t confuse distribution and sales to retailers with what really matters which is consumers that buy and rebuy.
In that respect I have to agree with Tolduso. Doesn’t matter what the fees are to use the award in their marketing or that they are actually in this store or that. Once you believe the company is legit, the only other thing that matters is if consumers are buying. Sales numbers may still be small if they’re only in a small number of stores, but if it’s selling well in 100 or 500, then there’s reason to think it will sell well in 2k or 10k
Without numbers at this point best we can do is hear from people like you who have access to a store and it’s good to hear
Did you listen to the interview last week? Folkson explained this is not an e-commerce biz. Basically who cares if anybody ever buy online
Also, it was previously addressed by another poster that any ice cream bought on amazon is basically in the same price range
Really, do you think people are buying Haagen daz by mail?
I meant no way to know if people are buying the ice cream off the shelf
The ice cream winner last year was a Skinny Cow product. Skinny Cow is owned by Nestle. This year, Nestle had multiple winners, including Butterfinger, Tic Tam and Kinder eggs.
Nestle also owns haagen dazs, dreyers, and Edy's. I wonder if NGTF beat out some of those brands, and who the other ice cream finalists were this year?
Did you guys see that Haagen Dazs launched a new line of ice cream with alcohol in them? here's an article
Notice their mdia blitz was 2/7 and 2/8, the exact same dates NGTF was announced as the winner and put out their news...
I bet that was one of the other finalists...just a guess??
