The POET Chips can be manufactured in what are otherwise becoming obsolete foundries. POET technology breathes new life into many of the smaller players. IBM facilities might be perfect place for them to collaborate.
Bought some more today at 1.17, simply ridiculous. Exec VP Manocha seated with Eric Schmidt at Empire a Club luncheon today. Not that it means something for now, but it shows Manocha's standing in the tech community. And he is with POET because...
Worth a read, whole thing, but for quick info, pages 7-9, 26,38.

Now with devices under design at Synopsys (TCAD) and a foundry. Doubt it will get any cheaper. Head table with Eric Schmidt for lunch tomorrow at Empire Club. Former CEO Global Foundries now Exec VP (Ajit Manocha). Check his bio. Legit.
Lightwave doing some good things but don't appear to be as far along. Good luck here, or there. But don't dismiss without DD. Might be worth changing horses, at least for a while.
Check out my Sept 2 post for a little more detail. I'm thinking they may be further ahead in the process than they are given credit for, which makes the current PPS attractive.
He's back for a second helping, my guess to cover his short position.
POET and Dr. Taylor, it's like giving a chess master a 5 move head start. By the time the big boys realize the game is afoot they will have to beg to play.
Yeah, there aren't enough streets in California to name after failed biotechs. :>)
What has become the usual, run up on great news, then cut off. If you trade, you could have made a fortune selling above 1.60 and buying back in the 1.20s, several times in past few months. Not a panic situation by any stretch, if volatility makes you squeamish, nothing wrong with that, either close your eyes and wait for big news, it will come, or add down at these levels because when it takes off, might be 6 months to a year, you will not want to be left out. Very, very low failure risk, very, very high reward potential. Good luck. I have been afraid to trade it, but I keep finding ways to add more shares each time it falls like this.
POET has designed a process that replaces silicon wafer technology, using gallium arsenide. The chips will run at speeds up to 100 times faster than silicon and use up to 1/7 of the energy. It can also include multiple devices on a single chip, replacing several chips with a single chip that can handle multiple memory and functions. The chips can be produced on existing semiconductor platforms, saving the industry billions in retooling. These partnerships with Synopsys and the unnamed foundry further validate that this is not a dream, it is the real deal. For starters think of a phone that will need to be charged no more than once per week. Now think what that alone will be worth. Then think of every other device that uses chips, computers, servers, tablets etc, able to run at much higher speeds and using much less power. And they are alone with this technology. Intel is currently worth $175 billion. What will this be worth if it's chips are so much faster and burn a fraction of the power. Enjoy.
Check out what they do, how they do it and when it will be commercialized. I'm an old timer bee around these small developmental stocks for years, none has so much potential and is so close to realizing it. Check the resources I provided , do not trust whatI tell you on its own Validate, appreciate and then celebrate! Enjoy!
Bingo!
Not sure how it works with pinks, but if there were new information they would have had to file for disclosure and the presentation would have generated a PR.
Lots of heat right now, has to break one way or the other, the Dr. Pierce leaving post tells me they want to create a panic now because good news may be imminent. There is no way he leaves as they are coming up on so many events and continuing to explore turning non responders into responders. Also, there is likely a vesting period for some of his shares and he has not finished a year with company yet. Just noise in my opinion.
In the past the company has not hesitated to post PRs for almost any reason. They are silent now for a reason, JMHO.
Reasons to buy.
1) Pelligrino 1.0 placed a valuation of $1 billion on POET. So that is $5+ per share, albeit years ago, but still a 250% valuation higher than today.
2. POET has met all of its major milestones and is in the process of validating production. This undoubtedly ratchets the Pelligrino 2.0 to multiples of 1.0.
3.An incredible number of ancillary technologies, applications and intellectual property have been developed and are either in patent or application process
4.A Nasdaq listing will significantly advance the visibility and value of the company. Yes, there will be volatility and games as hedge funds and big investors posture to obtain as many shares as cheaply as possible. But as the technology advances to the commercial stage, these will subside and a steady increase of value should ensue as the revenue streams evolve.
5.Ajit Manocha has joined the company in a leadership versus advisory capacity. This is significant because he was not brought in as window dressing, he was brought on to lead through the hazardous jungles of partnerships, licensing, sub contracting, acquisition...you name it. And he will acquire 2 million shares over time. His salary is a pittance of what he could get anywhere else. He chose POET, right here and right now, and he understands the value of those shares will be tremendously higher than the $1.75 options as they mature.
6. The risks associated with this company are now down to one, an epic fail in ability to replicate the technology at a commercial production level. These risks are substantially mitigated by the progress to date, by Dr. Taylor's measured statements of scalability and replication with limited retooling, indicating his address of this potential farrier throughout the development stages. So we are left with this small risk against the vast implications of success.
I have an idea of the technology's potential, I know nothing of GaAs, 100 nm or thyristors, sensors, etc. but I do know that if I add the above points together I arrive at a current value well above Pelligrino 1.0, and a potential for seemingly incredible multiples of that number in the not too distant future. In my universe, I have no other investment or potential investment that approaches this in terms of maturity, likelihood for success, leadership and explosive potential. These factors are why I will not be critical of short term price fluctuations.
The vacuum created by the lack of information is always filled by (reasonable or unreasonable) doubt. It's up to each individual to sort through these doubts, weigh them against that which we believe to be truths and adjust our perceptions accordingly.
POETF--- former CEO of second largest foundry in the world has just come on board. Will produce chips that run up to 100x faster and use 1/7th of the energy. And no one here in the US has even heard of them yet. Generational stock. Moving to Nasdaq soon, then Boom!
Everybody dreams of the 100 baggers, I'll settle for a 20 bagger. POETF.
On second thought, better to wait it out here for some additional quality participation.
Buc and Narnia, you should stop by Agoracom sometime, some really good knowledge shared there. Hoping to get more to show up here after they trade on the Nasdaq.
Not ruling out all, fact is am far from well versed in this field so I really can't speculate about the photonics race. As for POET, here's a brief piece of info that may prove valuable.

Good luck.
I think we are talking different languages here Steve, transmission versus processing? Good luck with Lightwave.
Mmrich, had to seek you out. You were dead on with PLUG and I owe you and still kick myself for selling WAY too early. You must look at POETF, the next PLUG and more. Agoracom.com site excellent dd and this link.

Huge news last week and just got hammered down because of potential RS, to move to Nasdaq. Good luck, think short ribs!
Bottom line: next gen integrated circuit to replace silicon, speed at 10x and energy use at 1/7th burn. Nobody knows them because they are on Canadian exchange now, Nasdaq soon then boom!
Steve you should read up on what they have. Their website provides a nice overview and Agoracom.com has some excellent links. Good luck.
Lots of thinks stalled out these days. Check out POETF when you get a chance too. Mack
Very, very strange, unheard of in my opinion. This level of silence is way beyond the norm, I am guessing something is happening. Still, July and August are the devil's playground, the sluggishness of the overall market allows the wolf pack to manipulate small companies' PPS in the absence of any real news. Last time they pushed it down this far it popped quickly back to 70s.
They are closer to 6 months to a year from production, prototype at 100nm in production validation process with foundry being finalized. And they are years ahead of everyone on this. That's why the former CEO of the world's second largest foundry has come on board as of last week.
Looks like the scam ends today.
Tough to say, multiples of current. Would look at PPS over next few days, just announced possible move to a US market (Nasdaq) and a reverse split. PPS will likely fall because of reverse, value proposition remains. Might get some shares at a 20% discount though. Good luck. Go to their website, good info and overview.
It has potential to be game changing tech.
Buying more today, this is just too cheap. Market cap potential 10s of billions in a few years.
A most informative and welcome post. Thank you so much!
This stock is held by lots of Wall Street types, so expect volatility as they attempt create and dispose of positions to maximize profit. Would not be surprised to see it fall back to 1.80 range but it's all fun and games for them. I suspect over the next 5 months if you are not into trading, better to tuck it away and cash in a nice Christmas present after Jan 1.
Also if you place stop losses on thus type of stock, expect to get burned as they read the level II info and force it down to trigger stop loss selling so they can grab more cheap shares.
Actually, I like when this happens because their actions are far more predictable, and I am not averse to riding the waves.
Lasers, you are an exception to my generalized statement and no intent to offend you. Keep up the good work. GLTY
Like the stock currently this board has become dead money. Feel free to delete immediately as you do with any post that tell it like it is, with one notable exception.
Vacation from all of this calls.
Sold a bunch of this last week to buy a Inovio. Vacation paid for.
3 shares traded today. Smoke signals?

Hey kid, I look at it this way. You are young, you learn from your mistakes. This is a good risk to take in my opinion. I worked and still do at age 60, wish I had taken chances with stocks earlier. Just know when to take a profit, and don't ever fall in love with a stock. If this goes to 1.20s, wherever it stalls after that, I am out for at least a while.
And don't forget, when the market corrects, 90% of stocks go down. Take a time out and start all over 12-18 months into a correction when no one else wants to touch a stock. Good luck.
Are you mocking what he owns? $10,000 could be a fortune to some. Well, at least I hope it turns into a fortune got their sake (all right, for my sake)
Fear not you will be able to add more at that price soon!
Hey ero, not like it's the Harvard Law Review.
99% of what is said here is rehash or reassurance, you are one of the 1%.
I am far more of a user here than a contributor, so I greatly appreciate the many here who are far more knowledgeable than me.
Reality is, at some point, in the absence of new info, it all becomes old.
Just remember this. Punit is not in this for us, we are a necessary evil to allow him to pursue his honorable dream.
The hostility and immaturity some showed whenever contrarian views were presented (reverse split, dilution, etc) destroys the real value of intelligent discourse which is to sharpen our ability to evaluate all perspectives and glean the best, sometimes from those from whom you expect the least. Look forward to your refreshing and thought provoking insights Eros.
Until we get PII results, partnership prospects and PPS will languish. No big pharma is going to make a move until those results are positive. The data may differentiate ONCS from the hundreds of other small developmental stage players to extent that big pharma can justify making a move. Politically they cannot justify anything before that happens. Heads would roll if they partnered and data would come back neutral or negative.
Still we remain in a very good spot based on interim data, so it is a waiting game, hopefully not for very long.
Point of clarification: I took some off the board but not at .90s or high 80s... Or high 70s! :>(
