Note Apple only have LiquidMetal brand right within CIP material.
However, they do have LiquidMetal trade name right in China (with no restriction).
Would you mind sharing the latest legal insight (other than wait till next March)?
Special events will make this quarterly financial bottom and top line meaningless.
1. One time revenue for END OF LIFE production of LM105
2. Severance pack for staff reduction
Biocompatible + Biodegradable = Bionic
Great job digging
This will ring the siren of the COI police
Not yet completed for all cases.
They are complied to 10993 in "surface device for use up to 30 days"
They need to complete 10993-3.
End customer needs to complete 10993-6 since it needs implantation procedure.
There are few more check boxes missing according to 10993 standard
Namely Genotoxiity, Hemocompatibility, Subchronic toxixity, Implantation
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_10993
When compared to LM105 result::
It looks like they have completed half of the implant test.
It still missed two of them.
I need to check iso10933 detail to see what’s what in terms of mandatory and optional.
IMPLANT LIFE TIME SHOCK ABSORBER (Pick Six)
1. Dimensional control/repeatability
2. Strength
3. Corrosion resistance
N/A Hardness & Scratch Resistance
4. High elastic limit
5. Non-magnetic
N/A Surface finish
6. Complex shapes
This brings a very interesting ME ONLY application in medical world.
Implant Lifetime Shock Absorber within JOINT.
ME ONLY is much easier to accept
LQMT is only responsible for ISO 10993 as a material (not product to be associated with).

LM-106c
https://www.liquidmetal.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Flier_Biocompatibility_v100919.pdf
Design Guide 5.0 did not contain info about 10993 Biocompatibility
"This process confirmed the material’s suitability for minimally invasive medical devices".
SALT FOG
• ASTM B117 standard ranks LM105 as good as the best crystalline alloys.
• Liquidmetal amorphous alloys can be repassivated after bead blasting for medical applications.
• Bead blasted and passivated surfaces are comparable to Titanium 6-4 in salt fog environments after 336 hours.
Like that enthusiasm....

Medical Implant Device Market for new material
https://www.aarp.org/content/dam/aarp/ppi/2017/08/understanding-the-market-for-implantable-medical-devices.pdf
Due to all kinds of age old political and infrastructure stables, default material such as stainless steel and titanium are somewhat untouchable.
$50 material cost within a $50,000 surgical procedure cost will limit any form of "cost reduction" types of ME TOO offering.
Net shape forming BMG vs MIM based Stainless Steel offer is at best a ME TOO product.
Tight Tolerance, Elasticity is not a requirement for Medical Implant Device.
Limited size was a big negative until now with 700 grams capability.
On individual component level, BMG alone cannot replace Stainless Steel.
However, in system level, if another break through component (such as Biodegradable Magnesium screw/staples) is also required,
then our sales folks will have some LEVERAGE to knock down the incumbent Stainless Steel.
Imagine HIP replacement surgery where artificial HIP must be tied back with tendons and ligaments.
Biodegradable screw and staples will obsolete need of screw and staples removal upon body heal.
Securing a PaceMaker or an ICD at a precise location can enjoy similar benefit.
BMG HIP + Biodegradable magnesium screw/staples will be a wonderful combo and must to sold together.
Wonder who owns both those wonderful technology......
I expect “blog” news will be spelled out in more detail (investor language) and hence SEC compliance.
They are at least one revision behind in contents.
It should have Biocompatibility included.
They decided to rush out the PR just ahead of earnings.
PR highlight following:
1. CE market involvement
2. Decoupling of Engel/Materion
3. Disclosed details of Eon machines
4. Medical market is not in any rush
5. Mirror finish (reflectiveness spec) excluded
Let’s hear it from the legal folks here on the lawsuit front.
Time to put all the pieces together.

According to the announcement of Eontec, the cumulative investment in magnesium alloy materials projects totaled 2 billion yuan. The first phase of the total investment is 500 million yuan, which is jointly invested by the signatories of the cooperation agreement. Eontec, Ningde Times, Sanxiang New Materials, and Wanshun Group intend to invest in a joint venture company with a proportion of 30%: 25%: 25%: 20%, and the joint venture will carry out the project.
Same requirement will be needed for Face ID camera housing.
Apple plans to shrink the “notch” by shrinking the 3D camera in front. They must tighten tolerance as result.
Flatness tight tolerance is the one major ME ONLY feature for BMG.
Stainless Steel MIM is currently “cherry picking” to meet Apple spec.
Damn. FBI does not work that fast.
iPad Pro casing can be stamped.

1000-C machines.....here we come.
Bill Johnson thought 300-C achievement was incredible and cannot be done.

This is why CE exclusion is in the PLA is to prevent Apple reach.

YiHao is not a whale CM
Note reporting time
Do you think the increase of machines at Yihao is from Yihao Sales effort, LQMT or EON?
Huawei.
Eontec has 300/500/1000 series machine. LF has only the 300 machine,
-A vs -C appears to be robotic inclusion (which looks more like add on rather than integrated). Robotic showing in this video only cover "load" and "unload".
I believe there are much more robotic further down the conveyer belts which should includes basic post processing such as de-gate, water jet, polish, PVD.
Very good question.
I will look into it.
I don’t see why not.
These machines are not contained high torque machinery like some of those giant diecast machines.
Steel I-beam structure are generic for mfr building. Unlike LF which was not built for heavy machinery for 2nd floor.
Same Eon 2024 project

Total JV cost 380 millions RMB
Eontec (via subsidiary Eon Liquidmetal) contribute 200 millions RMB.
State contribute remainder.
