Another patent granted today for device. This one enables allows for all memory on a single chip, unheard of today and another speed boost and power saver. They are locking up this tech inside and out.
Yup, good luck, later.
Not another word from me strik.
JJ, here Is a link to a great post explaining status of 100nm and 40nm.
http://agoracom.com/ir/POETTechnologies/forums/discussion/topics/634399-i-hope/messages/1990133#message
JJ, my guess is that 100nm is long done, 40nm is too and that's the sweet spot as it takes us beyond current leading edge CMOS. I believe the big partnership is tied to the 40nm achievement. The move to 40 from 100 in 6 months is remarkable and demonstrates the facility with which further node reductions may be achieved. Their history is such that incremental announcements in the past have fond nothing for the share price. So I think the ad brings with it a bevy of announcements that will remove any doubts.
I am done with ifs and have moved to when's. They have proven the physical science. The ads reflect this, the language is not speculative, it is definitive.
I understand your caution and respect it, I am simply at a point personally where the dots connect enough for me to feel confident that where POET is now is way beyond what is reflected in the share price, and that is about to change as well. Good luck and feel free to explore the Agoracom site and links for in depth info.
JJ, the ads are clearly a prelude. Otherwise, they would just be money foolishly burned, something this management would not do.
"One company is changing the foundation of electronics." That is not an empty boast, it is not hubris. It says they have the means to do it, that it has been proven. But the ad by itself means nothing. Expect a CEO (industry renowned), partnerships, with or without equity stakes, licensing deals, big names, the beginnings of a mood to a bigger market (NASDAQ) At least 2 of these should happen in short order. Nasdaq will take several months. That is a lot to wrap our heads around.
The technology is formidable and they have been able to build it with the peripheral and integral devices to not only protect the IP, but to enable it to penetrate ever wider and deeper industry segments. While I believe (regrettably) it gets taken out long before 2020, if it does not, "Powered by POET" will likely be ubiquitous and dominant in the technology world. And it's still less than a buck a share!
Their plan is to list on the Nasdaq, ideally without reverse split, by summer. This means $4 share price minimum.ads now running several times a day in Bloomberg, has to be a prelude to a much bigger campaign or series of announcements.
I anticipate these will start next week. Not being a pumper regarding announcements, history shows they make updates to their corporate presentation and/or press releases around this time of month consistently. Also pulled all industry articles from their website today, indicative of an updated underway.
Good luck. And find more info on Agoracom website and POET Facebook group.
If you are invested here, you are pretty smart yourself.
Great stuff buc, thanks.
No horse in the race Sunday, as a gambler, I'd say 27-17 Seahawks. Just a feeling though.
Good times coming for POET, if no news next week, warrant overhang could hold it down to the 11th at the latest in my opinion, but after that, nothing but upside. Hope for you the Pats win though.
POET ad is done.
http://www.b-tv.com/poet-technologies/
You don't do an ad unless you have a product that is ready to rock.
Good pickup strik, added another 40k yesterday and today.
As for the rest of you, sung to the Captain Morgan's rum commercial tune:
Uh-oh, yore in trouble, if you didn't buy POET very soon it's gonna double.
Updates available.
Updates available.
Check out latest, including update today. Key takeaways: they are accelerating addition of top level execs and staff; translation, as this company does not do such things arbitrarily, they are ramping up for big things to come. Also they updated the Corporate Presentation on the poet-technologies.com/investors website to state that 40nm transition to foundry will be completed this month. Huge news.
Finally, the have enhanced a key patent and trademarked "Powered by POET" (check out all of the applications for which this can be used). Enjoy!

Note that this company is providing very low keyed but substantive updates, this may well sit at these levels for a few more weeks, or even months, but when they do go from stealth to wealth mode, it will happen suddenly and in large measure, as it is truly disruptive to the entire microprocessor ecosystem.
Yeah, I'm too cheap to buy the private messaging feature so it wasn't meant for you. So fwiw, you can disregard it. ??
Tic tock tic tock
Hey Narnia, if you are out there, last year you put out the mass of information, it's at the top of the message board now. In it, there was information regarding number of share holders as of December 14, 2013, it broke out US shareholders as well. Where did you get that info and is there an update available.?
Hey Rick,
This will answer some of your questions.
http://www.poet-technologies.com/the-poet-platform/
Also check out their corporate presentation on the site. Speed and power savings are anticipated to be stunning and disruptive.
The answer to many of your question is yes. They see no barriers to moving to smaller nodes, 40nm does function at or beyond the level of 14nm SI. The "O" in POET represents their optical on chip functionality. Most importantly for many potential licensees, the POET process is readily deployed to existing manufacturing processes versus requiring billions in retooling. Their first products will be PET, the optical features will be developed after the electronic side is commercialized.
The timing is perfect, coming at the near end of silicon's ability to be further reduced. Nodes beyond 14nm are prohibitively expensive, unstable, and have limited incremental improvements in performance.
I've been referring others to Agoracom as a great resource. I am not an expert on the tech, but many there are. Good luck.
Great to have you over there Buc, hopefully others will check in as well while we develop the community here and pass on the word.
Check in at Agoracom board also, some long term investors, tech savvy excellent for research, resourcing.
Been investing for a very long time. Never came across a company that was so far along (after 25 yrs of R&D, thanks you Dr. Taylor, universities and grants), now being commercially developed by the best TCAD company in the world (for no expense per quarterly report, I suspect a partnership deal is already done for a percentage of POET), where the technology has the real potential to disrupt a $600 billion international industry, for the next 30 years. Now add in the former CEO of Global Foundries, recently taking an increased role as co-Chairman, and being situated in the center of Silicon Valley to commence business development.
Take an industry that has run up against the technological wall ( further node reductions are prohibitively expensive, marginally effective, and highly unstable), desperate for a miracle. Add in a new technology, POET, that can achieve higher speeds at lower power, on otherwise obsolete equipment, saving 10s of billions in Capex. A company shielded by patents that include those for quantum computing. A technology that is in nearly everything that carries an electrical charge.
Finally, take a stock that is hidden away on a nefarious Canadian exchange, subject to manipulation, and absent any visibility, and you have IBM circa 1950, Microsoft circa 1983, Apple at 1.50 per share, well if you don't get it by now, you never will.
It's like being able to buy shares in the IPO of the century, before Wall Street can even touch it. Enjoy.
As long as volume keeps up, should be in good shape.
Can't tell you what to do. I am maxed out and in no mood to trade the recent run up, wish I had done it before though! I'm in for the long haul. Some would tell you to wait until it is entirely de-risked, when the events I described have happened. I think Manocha de- risked us today by taking the Co-Chairman position with the task of hiring the CEO. Have a good night.
I think tax loss selling might occur in next few weeks for those in above current levels, so they can buy back ASAP. Depends how much the word spreads, or doesn't. Lots of moving parts.
I suspect we may see some big partnership announcements before then, board member resignation today suggests making room for some new blood likely from industry collaborator/partner.
Technologically, 40nm prototype announcement will be the watershed event, precedes revenues but tells the tech world we have arrived.
I expect these along with CEO well before summer. Enjoy the ride.
Smart, the way the Canadian market acts, we could see a pullback if volume does not stay high, anytime buying interest wanes they take it down as far as they can to scare off retail investors.
The pieces keep being put into perfect position, expect the CEO to be another big name, heavy speculation out there already about who it will be. Manocha's acceptance of this role fully validates status POET will achieve in the marketplace. The market will still be slow to catch on, enjoy the opportunity to beat the market to the punch.
And if you can, a Roth IRA investment could provide you with a tax free legacy.
I think they are very comfortable as page 10 indicates they have cash on hand to take them through 2015. This does not take into account potential options payments, and revenues which had been indicated to come as early as this quarter or 1q15.
Welcome! Much more available google "poet technologies Scovel" and follow to YouTube links and other links/resource sites.
Stock based compensation accounted for the increased loss. Not a concern in terms of cash burn. They are in good shape. Company is frugal, options granted raise cash when exercised.
Don't be deceived by US volume strik, I suspect they run many of our trades though Canadian exchanges, since I have had days when my purchases exceeded shown US volume.
I won't say that it was done to prepare for POET, but it does say something for IBM to pay that much just to get out. The industry is absolutely primed for a new technology, if POET is legit, and I believe the science to be so, they could not have chosen a better moment in time to enter the picture. If you haven't already, check out Agoracom for some excellent information, links, tech knowledge. Also POET's most recent corporate presentation. Good luck with both.
Hey Steve, saw your post over at POETF. Amazing these two stocks are at same PPS right now, technically great entry point. I do think POET gets to monetization first, but certainly potential/ synergy is possible.
Ajit Manocha is a heavyweight acquisition for them. You can take it to the bank that they will be a disrupting force or he wouldn't' waste his time. Good luck.
Added some more today, selling should be done, news not far off.
Pressure on a large holder who has to liquidate some before end of month. These prices are crazy cheap. And tech is real. Hang on to your shares.
Enjoy strik, you will not be disappointed. You got a steal. The technology will permeate every area currently dominated by silicon, and in many applications it will displace it.
Incredible PPS today, after announcing the opening of a San Jose office with the former CEO of Global Foundries, now POET's Exec VP, there to make deals. Malicious manipulation is creating a tremendous buying opportunity. Just bought some more. An office in Silicon Valley is not a smokescreen, it's validation. Enjoy! In a year you can brag that you bought this way under a buck!
Here's a link to their updated presentation.
http://poet-technologies.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/POET-Technologies-Corporate-Overview.pdf
The verticals they will have impact in are all encompassing, cell phones to servers, power management, analog, digital, optical.
The share price won't move until revenue or a major deal is announced. Until then enjoy the opportunity to buy shares at a ridiculously cheap level, as the risks fall to the wayside and the run up to a major rollout progresses.
Synopsys is utilizing its most advanced software to accelerate the POET design work they are doing. This is huge news! SNPS simply doesn't do this unless what they have is truly groundbreaking. Way too many big clients clamoring for their resources to fast path this otherwise. Enjoy the ride.
