A small Redmond startup that is backed by the big name and deep pockets of Bill Gates announced Tuesday it has signed a major agreement with a manufacturer to get its inventive satellite antenna systems to market.
The antennas could have major implications for mobile Internet connections, Kundtz said. Right now, big dishes must spin around, using a mechanical pointing system that is constantly following the satellite.
“We are replacing that with something that can scan electronically,” Kundtz said. “It’s a completely new type of antenna design. We will be able to point the beam wherever we want to.”
Kymeta plans to make antennas to enable Internet broadband for pretty much anything that moves — boats, planes, cars, you name it.
“A car being connected to a satellite is groundbreaking,” Kundtz said. “You couldn’t do that if you had to stick a 500-pound piece of equipment in it.”
Instead, Kymeta’s antennas could potentially be placed in the car’s windshield.

Bruce's wife, Karen, posted this on FB August 5th.
"Bruce has finished another round of chemo. This was a tough one.The dose had been increased so it was hard on him. He had his words really messed up, so it was hard to know what he was talking about sometimes. Mostly he slept a lot. If you live close, please visit, it makes him be more aware and engaged, otherwise he just sits a lot! If you can't visit , please send a note or card, they help a lot too. PO Box 333 Trenton, FL 32693. If you can't come by or send a card please pray for us. This is wicked stage 4 terminal brain cancer, and the fight is hard!"

Thanks for all your notes on W10. I haven't had a problem (yet) with uodates. Did you stop the automatic update feature? If the uodate causes a problem, what difference would it make if it's an automatic update or a manual update....the update is still flawed either way. ?

Ok, I'm typing this from windows 10 upgrade. My absolute all time favorite was XP. I never had windows 7; went from XP to 8.0....aaarrrgh! We'll see how this goes. It can't be worse than 8.1.
I do NOT have your expertise in these matters, Flo, so I may be calling upon your skills and willingness to help and share.
Thanks in advance...lol.
Lol.....although, I also have an iPad ! You'll get an update, one way or the other.
My pc is a little over a year old, had 8.1 and all the updates along the way. Not sure if being a bit newer than yours is making a difference.
This process is now on " installing features and drivers". It did a restart after copying files. It's 56% done with the upgrade.
What will I get when it's all done? I'll soon see, although I'll wait to study and play with it tomorrow as I'm about ready to enjoy dinner and a glass of wine.
Downloaded no problems. Then a lengthy "prepare to install" phase, then a restart, and now on an "upgrading windows" screen, 15% done. This phase is copying files, then installing features and drivers, and configuring settings. There is a note saying "your pc will restart several times. Sit back and relax". I've been at this maybe an hour so far.
Hi Bruce...you are really missed around here and it's great to see your post today. Lots of prayers being said on your behalf. Take care and God bless you...

Bruce Thompson Glioblastoma Fight

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to give all Bruce's iHub friends an update. He would really love some cards as he does not use the computer anymore! Again his address is:
P.O BOX 333
Trenton, FL 32693
(This was posted on FB page by Bruce's wife, Karen.)

Cool, that's just what the doctor ordered......thanks.
Spread the word all over iHub... let's flood that PO Box,
Bruce Thompson
PO Box 333

Thinking out loud here...
Bruce has had an impact on our 'high tech' lives, from diligently answering a myriad of newbie to expert questions, to assisting many with new terminator computer builds.
On January 16th, he wrote this heart wrenching post: "I need to talk."
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=109978436
There were a few Bruce updates and then nothing ... until Newly located Karen Thompson's Facebook page highlighting Bruce's glioblastoma fight.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bruce-Thompson-Glioblastoma-Fight/725371917561421
What really struck me is not too long ago she asked on FB for people to send cards to him via regular mail. (Bruce doesn't use the computer, cell phone, etc anymore.). She was sincere in thanking the nine people who sent cards.
I do not want to diminish the sincerity of those nine people, but I do believe Bruce's friends in this iHub community can dwarf that by at least ten times. How about a massive card sending campaign to Bruce? It's quite likely many have already done so.
Other iHub boards outside Dream Machine might need his address, too, so it's shown below.
It just might put a smile on their faces to receive an outpouring of compassion from a bunch of 'strangers'.
Let's put the postman to work...

LONDON (AP) — World No. 1 Rory McIlroy has ruptured a ligament in his left ankle while playing soccer less than two weeks before the start of his British Open title defense.
The Northern Irish golfer gave no indication how long he would be out in the announcement Monday on his Instagram account, only saying that he is "working hard to get back as soon as I can."
"Total rupture of left ATFL (ankle ligament) and associated joint capsule damage in a soccer kickabout with friends on Saturday," McIlroy wrote. "Continuing to assess extent of injury and treatment plan day by day. Rehab already started..... Working hard to get back as soon as I can."
The British Open starts on July 16 at St. Andrews in Scotland.

Hi newly....I'm not a FB member either. If you look again at that page you'll see the post from today over on the left side just beneath those two photos of Bruce and his wife. If you scroll thru all her prior posts there is a photo of Bruce after his surgery...massive scar. Bless their hearts.
Yes, it would be great if she knew of this site and all the folks here who keep him in prayer.
From your link and posted by his wife:

"I want to give all of you an update on Bruce. He is in what is called the maintenance phase of his brain cancer. 5 days on chemo then 23 days off. Continue until the blood can't take anymore. Well last months - first round - chemo dropped his platelet count in half, so this might be his last round. We were hopeful he would get at least 5 rounds. The next tumor will come back much faster with out the chemo. This is a very aggressive cancer, the tumors always come back. Today is day 1 of 5. Bruce handles the chemo well except his short term memory goes out the window, and his speech is real mixed up, glad it's ony 5 days!! Thanks for your continued prayers!"
Agreed.....not enjoying FOX broadcast at all. Announcers are weak....you can practically tell in advance what they'll say.
Radius Health Up on Positive Data on Fracture Candidate......Zacks headline. Sweet.
That was my reasoning for putting Michael Putnam in my mix. He lives there, has played Chambers Bay nearly 40 times, his brother is a Chambers Bay caddy and has almost 500 carries. Oh, and that same brother is Michael Putnam's caddy this US Open. If local knowledge is worth anything, this team has it.
We shall see.....anybody's ball game...

I see on the leaderboard that Paul Casey has WD. Now I'm down to four players. Spieth needs a good day today.
Looks like a good decision.
"Bruce Lucas, the Company's Chairman and CEO, said, "Our first quarter was our best quarter in the Company's history and produced record earnings of $30.1 million. We continue to outperform expectations as evidenced by year-over-year triple digit increases in net premiums earned and net operating income. We continue to add voluntary production ahead of expectations as production for personal residential in the first quarter grew by 56% compared to the fourth quarter of 2014. We were also recently named by SNL as the fastest growing P&C insurer in the U.S. in 2014, which is the second consecutive year in which Heritage was named the top growth insurer in the U.S. This accomplishment is especially impressive given the strong financial performance of the Company to date. We are proud to once again deliver shareholder returns significantly above market expectations."

Lol....actually, Jason Day played a practice round with Tiger and reportedly said some of Tiger's shots were "squirelly". Then an analyst said TPC will eat him alive if he doesn't drive the ball better than he did at the Masters. Yeah, throw in his heartbreak over Vonn, etc., so I booted him off my picks.
Now watch him "do a Rory" who played great after his break up !
I'd like to make a change....please take out Tiger and replace with Rose. Thanks very much.

Nvidia, the graphic-card master, wants to do for self-driving cars what it’s done for gaming and supercomputing. It wants to supply the hardware core—the automotive brain onto which others can build their applications.
It’s called Drive PX, and next month it will be released to auto makers and top-tier suppliers for US $10,000 a pop. It packs a pair of the company’s Tegra X1 processors, each capable of a bit more than a teraflop—a trillion floating-point operations per second. Together they can manage up to 12 cameras, including units that monitor the driver for things like drowsiness or distractedness. “Sensor fusion,” which puts the various streams of data into a single picture, can even include input from radar and its laser-ranging equivalent, lidar. The result is the ability to recognize cars, pedestrians and street signs.
Auto companies that work with Nvidia (which, by the way, already has processors of one kind or another in some 8 million cars) and are presumed to be lining up for the development kit include Tesla, Audi and BMW, as well as top-tier suppliers, such as Delphi. These companies will build their own systems on top of the Nvidia framework.

Your reply made me realize you post about graphene, not graphite. So, I did some reading...found this useful:
https://goldstockbull.com/articles/how-to-invest-in-graphite-and-the-future-of-graphene/
I'd like to make a switch on one of my picks. Please remove Tiger and replace with Jimmy Walker. Thanks !
You've referenced graphite in prior posts. Here is a clip from the aluminum battery article:
"A team lead by chemistry professor Hongjie Dai at Stanford University in California made a breakthrough by accidentally discovering that graphite made a good partner to aluminum, Stanford said in a statement.
In a prototype, aluminum was used to make the negatively-charged anode while graphite provided material for the positively charged cathode."

Thanks for running the contest.
Great to see you posting today. So many people, known and unknown to you, praying for you. Hope you recover from the infections soon so you can get the transfer to Duke. Keep the faith....and, Happy Easter.
Spieth, please, for this one. Thanks for doing the contest...looking forward to the majors!
Kevin Na this week. Thanks!
