"Nvidia doesn't want to just dominate the graphics card market, it wants to own it"
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3001749/components-graphics/nvidia-doesnt-want-to-just-dominate-the-graphics-card-market-it-wants-to-own-it.html
"...All of this activity adds up to a typical move we’ve seen played out by Apple, Microsoft, and many other technology companies: create products that encourage people to invest in and stay insidde your ecosystem. PC gamers are a fickle sort and would readily swap out GeForce graphics cards in droves for AMD R9 GPUs if the gaming world started trending towards Team Red. Nvidia wants to counteract that possibility by making the world of Nvidia far more appealing. You might come to Nvidia for the graphics performance, but you’ll stay for all the extra perks that come with being a GeForce graphics card owner—or at least Nvidia hopes so...."

All Washington Chipotle restaurants close amid E. coli investigation

All Chipotle restaurants in Washington state are closed as health officials investigate an outbreak of E. coli food poisoning linked to sites in Washington and Oregon.
At least 22 people have been sickened with the E. coli bacteria, including 19 in Washington and three in the Portland area, health officials reported Saturday. Eight have been hospitalized, officials announced at a downtown Seattle news conference. No deaths have been reported.
In Washington, 17 of the 19 who have been sickened ate at Chipotle, leading state health officials to believe a food product at the Mexican food chain may be the source of the infections.
The culprit appears to be Shiga toxin-producing E. coli bacteria, according to Dr. Scott Lindquist, the Washington state epidemiologist. But tests to identify the specific strain of the potentially dangerous bug are not yet complete.
“I’m concerned that this could be a serious outbreak,” he said.
Stenson, please. Thanks!

Network Computing article on today's Cloudpath news:
"As a latecomer to the enterprise 11n market when it was in its heyday, Ruckus no doubt hopes to leverage Cloudpath’s customer base to sell more 802.11ac network gear as older 11n deployments come up for refresh. But the WLAN vendor has bigger aspirations with this acquisition.
Ruckus has long been a proponent of Hotspot 2.0, which could transform public WiFi by bringing enterprise-grade security to the masses, but getting mass buy-in hasn’t been easy. Ruckus has deep penetration in the carrier space, and by extension access to huge customer volume at a time when carriers are looking ever-harder at WiFi to augment their services. Add the proven and easy onboarding capabilities provided by Cloudpath, and Ruckus might just be in a position to facilitate wider adoption of Hotspot 2.0.
With Cloudpath, Ruckus also is acquiring a complete solution that's superior to the competition. It’s becoming fairly common for WLAN vendors to offer abbreviated versions of Cloudpath’s capabilities. I’ve taken a number of them to task for leaving out important features that Cloudpath provided early on, including options like toggling IPv6 support on or off, making sure device firewalls are on, and that system updates are set to automatic.
Beyond simple onboarding, Cloudpath provides basic, but critical, device management functions. In my experience, this provisioning sets clients with a common basic posture that leads to dramatically reduced trouble ticket counts and a known baseline to troubleshoot from."

I don't have FB account either. Not sure if Bruce's wife checks this board for him.
There are several good articles in the link you posted.
For those interested in following Bruce's cancer fight, here is a FB post by his wife today.

Good news! Bruce's blood work came back good enough to do one more round of chemo! Praise God! His Dr says any more chemo after this will cause more harm - complete loss of hs immune system- than good. We know that once the chemo stops this aggressive deadly cancer always comes back, so we are thankful for this extra month. Your prayers, calls, cards and visits help us so much. Bruce's spirits are good, but he is unable to much, he is weak and tires easily. We appreciate all your prayers, we put our trust in God, knowing He holds us close to Him, and He gives us the strength to fight this battle.

Bruce's MRI was for the most part good. No sign of a tumor coming back, just a little more cancer around where they took out the first tumor. The bad news are his blood counts. He barely qualified for the next round of chemo that starts Thursday. His blood is crashing, the Dr. felt this will probably be his last chemo treatment. The rest is all very grim. Thanks for all the prayers and also for remembering Bruce's birthday this Friday P.O. BOX 333 Trenton, FL 32693.

September 7 at 3:51am
Hi Everyone, I want to give you an update on Bruce. He just completed the 4th round of 5 days on chemo 23 days off. The dose of chemo had to be lowered because his platelets had dropped again. But he tolerated the chemo better this time. I want to say a special hello to his friends in i-hub, the cards you are sending make a very big difference, thank you so much! His next MRI is the 18th of this month, that will show where we stand with this deadly cancer! He is repeating himself a lot and getting his words mixed up, but he still holds my hand when we watch TV, and most of the time there is a ready smile!! Come by and see him if you're in the area, or send a card. I'll post again after the MRI. Thanks for all your prayers we feel them!!

A small Redmond startup that is backed by the big name and deep pockets of Bill Gates announced Tuesday it has signed a major agreement with a manufacturer to get its inventive satellite antenna systems to market.
The antennas could have major implications for mobile Internet connections, Kundtz said. Right now, big dishes must spin around, using a mechanical pointing system that is constantly following the satellite.
“We are replacing that with something that can scan electronically,” Kundtz said. “It’s a completely new type of antenna design. We will be able to point the beam wherever we want to.”
Kymeta plans to make antennas to enable Internet broadband for pretty much anything that moves — boats, planes, cars, you name it.
“A car being connected to a satellite is groundbreaking,” Kundtz said. “You couldn’t do that if you had to stick a 500-pound piece of equipment in it.”
Instead, Kymeta’s antennas could potentially be placed in the car’s windshield.
