Discussion about dosage is essentially an attempt to cast shadow/doubt on results/outcome. We should let the company speak about the science the facts. They know the best.

I agree with you Steady_T. Given the context and the preceding statement/sentence from Missling, it sounds more like other countries/regions/territories of the world (even though “territory” is an usage for regions within Australia). For reference to the context and the statement...I am reposting the following from earlier post (which is taken from the CC)
>>>>>>
Quote:
So we expect actually an increase in enrollment because we're adding sites. We have to appreciate that so far the enrollment has been exclusively in Australia. And I understand that we have reached the highest enrollment in Australia ever in the history of Alzheimer’s study enrollment in terms of numbers recruited for Alzheimer’s patients.
So now we are expanding to additional territories and so this will allow what we believe in addition to the existing sites in Australia for an uptick in enrollment speed for the Alzheimer’s study.

DoubleJ23, Good reasoning. Makes sense.
vg_future
tredenwater2, agreed.
Yes WolfofMia. My point was that we cannot simply say placebo is as good as medicine which is a way for folks to imply that the medicine is not effective.....and that is totally wrong and misleading.
JMHO,
vg_future
wolfofMia & grich1, these are open-label extensions which mean that the placebo folks most likely be getting the actual medicine. So, if they weren't doing good (as opposed to the folks on the medicine), then they willingly opt for extension. Hence 100%.
Perfect! Thanks. Looks like our data with 32 patients is equivalent or carries more punch than the large scale trials. Looks like we are in the process of proving it. ??????
georgejjl, is this from the 5:30 session today? Thanks.
I bet they are pursuing it. I will also bet that the answer from IR would be “we will be pursuing every avenue to speed up the approval” and there will be no mention of TGA specifically. I agree with them considering the manipulation that happens with this stock. They will announce it when the approval comes through.

Investor2014, yes. EOM
Okay. I didn't know that. Thanks for that the info. Is that the float that they released while the insiders and VCs held the remaining? They already have 160 million in cash...so, looks like the IPO and the subsequent dilution raised money at good prices to give them the cash hoard.
-vg_future
Investor2014, I think KRTX will still be around 27 million outstanding shares after the public offering. I am not predicting what happens to their stock price and how their future plans unravel. Just pointing out that they haven't diluted much yet.
The current market (Biogen and other prominent failures) helped propel the stock beyond the stock worthiness...but, is helping KRTX raise 250 million at a very small dilution.
I wish AVXL journey has started now. In this environment and the amount of positive NEWS, AVXL would be over 100 while waiting for the next leg up.
JMHO,

Application is not necessarily PRed...approval would have to be of course. EOM
I assume Macfarlane knows the difference between same person asking vs multiple people asking. EOM
JJ, I will chime in even though it is unsolicited. Participants in the trials are people who are going through lot of suffering day in day out and are looking for a relief. They don’t ask questions about extension just out of curiosity....they are asking out of their concern. They might want to know if they can continue the medicine that is most likely working for them. Each participant wouldn’t know if it is working for other participants (even if it is working for them), so they would naturally have anxiety and concern and hence could be asking about extension consistently as it involves lot more participants’ response.
Any other interpretation of the statement is purely intellectual tease (what if scenarios) coming from the sidelines.
JMHO,

Good info wildcard235. Thanks. IMHO (no one has to agree and everyone has their valid reasons for their decisions...I totally respect them), if your shares are lent out for shorting, someone is basically using your shares against you (beat you and suck out the potential of the shares appreciation). Again, nothing against anyone's decision. JMHO.
-vg_future
Brichnyc, I can’t speak for your finances and situation. But, 3.75% is just few cents and with the borrowed shares, shorts can cause bigger damage. So, maybe you can take your shares back and get bigger returns while starving the shorts and preventing short attacks.
I apologize for unsolicited thoughts/comments. Just thinking out loud.
-vg_future
Wouldn’t that be the right thing to do. When you can raise 250 million, why keep the additional 15 million deal alive and separate....just fold it under the big one (it doesn’t have to be used as originally intended). I am with the party that feels that this is real good NEWS....as someone said, clearing the deck for something big.
-vg_future
I am afraid not. The 250 shelf was announced in July 1st week. The 15 mill stuff is from June 7th.
Lima4918, read my post...that is my opinion.
BostonSportsNut, so as mentioned in the amendment, they suspended the sale of any remaining shares related to the $15 mill worth shares mentioned in the June, 2019 support plume this, right? Am I reading/understanding it right?
This could mean that either they are done or they don’t need additional funds or they have a better deal somewhere else. JMHO.
-vg_future
I think we might be over analyzing the situation. IMHO, tomorrow’s presentation will be there whether they have an analyst coverage from the house or not. In fact, a presentation like this could help in getting investments and new coverage. If there is any change, then we will hear about it or would have heard by now. So, I repeat, we might be over analyzing it.
vg_future
yes..volume could be speaking volumes. Maybe something in the works.
Possible! Keeping fingers crossed.
The stock is moving with volume. Let's focus on that for now...something is or has triggered this.
-vg_future
brichnyc and TempePhil, thanks for the reports of your conversations with the IR folks. Appreciate your time and effort.
-vg_future
Thanks. Appreciate the clarification. EOM.
basparks79, understand that you cannot share much info. Can you tell if "Investment Group" means yours or you are talking about some other group. I can understand if you cannot share that info either.
TIA,
vg_future
It is all in perspective...you are choosing to look at it from negative angle. They could have lightened for any reason or mandate (if they didn't like it..why even keep 3 million shares...not a small number by any means).
That is alright. Index fund or otherwise, institutions add stability. Also, the institutional ownership went from 16.06% (as of June 30th) to 22.3% as of Aug 14th. Number of institutions also went up by few. So, that is a positive sign. There is no need to pick one or two institutions that lightened up for whatever the reason might be. Regarding the bio funds, they will come when they come...they might try to get in at a higher price..so, that is their decision/choice.
vg_future
Thanks Rubyred77 for the link. Looks like Blackrock added around 2.6 mill shares State Street Corp around 600K shares while PW cut its position by around 495K shares. Net position change across board seems like a big positive.
-vg_future
Looks like you have a pretty negative view of the CEOs and you are putting your bias on Missling. You don't know for sure why he bought when he bought, but willing to chime in your negative slant. Anyway, your opinion your wish.
-vg_future
Facts: A purchase is always a positive sign as opposed to a sale. One of the famous quotes...Insiders could sell for lot of reasons, but they buy only for one reason.
Look at the total purchase..not the individual purchases that got executed over period.
JMHO,
vg_future
McMagyar, good points and good answers. EOM
Biostockclub, good catch. This is not just confidence speaking...I bet he has a strong reason to be so confident. That is clarity.
-vg_future
Thanks mauismart for the info. I had a suspicion that no analyst would ask about this because they know how the shelf offerings (if ever exercised/executed) work. Even if asked, we might most likely have gotten a standard answer (even if there is a deal that is ready to be announced tomorrow....hypothetically speaking).
JMHO,
vg_future
Great NEWS Mycroft! Thanks for posting that. I got on the call a little late and missed it.
Any discussion about the shelf registration?
TIA,
vg_future
Good question Investor2014. I think it is positive (and they are making it clear) and is telling me that they don't have to touch the new shelf shares to raise money for the trials. That money could be touched for other reasons...partners..major commercial launch..etc.
-vg_future
Is this the peer-reviewed article he hinted in the past.....if so, that is good NEWS.
From this morning’s PR...
” A recent peer-reviewed scientific publication titled, Neuronal Sigma-1 receptors: signaling functions and protective roles in neurodegenerative diseases, details the mechanism of action of Sigma-1 receptors (S1R) and references ANAVEX®2-73 among the relevant S1R ligands. The paper summarizes: “In conclusion, S1R is incredibly versatile in its ability to foster neuronal homeostasis in the context of several neurodegenerative disorders.”5“
TTTav66, thanks for the info. So is it possible that clinical trials site is just catching up on the update and also the current status might as well be “Recruiting complete”?
