Good opportunity to ask EXP's CEO questions in real time. Glad to see EXP reaching out to new investors who may be unfamiliar with the ultra-premium segment of the market.

Glad to see the cost cutting continues. To me money is better spent on the THC side of the business, like solventless extraction equipment for popular live full spectrum extracts, and advanced automated packaging equipment to save labor costs. Every dollar spent needs to be justified from here on out... glta

https://seekingalpha.com/article/4372531-next-green-waves-nxgwf-ceo-michael-jennings-on-q4-2020-results-earnings-call-transcript
Seeking Alpha got the quarter wrong, it's Q2 results not Q4, but it's nice have the call in print form. Thanks NGW!!!
Mike did a good job summarizing NGW's plans for the future. My take on his comments were... They will be looking to expand capacity, but not at any cost. They will be looking for the right opportunity at the right price, including building a new facility on there own land in Coalinga. The tissue culture partnership with Green Venus is moving forward with a possible launch date in Q4. Full spectrum vape carts and gummie edibles are new products coming soon. The CFO said operation costs are coming down, and they hope to hit $1M EBITDA in the near future. These are just my impressions of what was said during the call. Others may have a different take. glta
Sounded to me like they would be doing solventless extraction (Hash, Hash Rosin, Dry Sift), before they consider solvent based extraction.
Looks like concentrate consumers are moving more and more to solventless full spectrum extracts, based on all the new full spectrum products entering the market. Seems like a smart move to invest in the extraction technology of the future over the past. Plus it's much less expensive, safer, and faster to set up a solventless lab. Like this move. glta

GI544, Potentially great news for Decibel product sales. Canopy Growth is opening 10 new stores in Alberta. Currently Decibel's Prairie Records stores carry lots of Canopy Growth products. You would think that Canopy will return the favor by carrying Qwest branded products at their new stores. If so that would add 10 new dispensaries where Qwest products will be sold in Alberta. Will update once they are open for business, and display their inventory online. Seems only fair to me... gl

From what I can dig up it appears he left the company in good shape with iAnthus having secured $100M in financing from Gotham Green one month before his departure. According to the press release he left the company on good terms almost a year ago. Don't think what's happening to them now can be placed on his shoulders. That would be on the new directors that came in afterwards. Paul could be taking a bath on iAnthus just like the rest of their shareholders if he didn't see the writing on the wall. I'm giving him some leeway before I form an opinion on his ability to turn 1933 around. To me he's off to a good start concentrating on the Nevada market with high THC premium products. gl

This should help the new CEO implement the changes that are needed to bring the company into profitability. His first big test is to get 1933 cashed up with the ongoing private placement that was recently extended.
With the new focus on THC products for Nevada consumers, along with continued cost cutting, 1933 could become a premium craft producer making a tidy profit in no time.
I noticed Birdhouse Skateboards, Denver Dab Co, Grizzly Griptap, and OG DNA Genetics, no longer appear as 1933's partners in today's release. Smart move to sell your own brands unless it's something unique like Pantry, and 5 Star. Always imho glta

EXP's new COB Sean MacNeil has written a very interesting article, Why are LP's failing? (It just seemed so easy...)
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-lps-failing-just-seemed-so-easy-sean-macneil
Totally agree with Sean that expensive and complicated grow systems are usually unnecessary, especially at the craft level of cultivation. **NEWS** Decibel Releases Second Quarter Results Highlighting Positive Developments with Launch of Cannabis 2.0 Products
https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/decibel-releases-second-quarter-results-highlighting-positive-developments-with-launch-of-cannabis-2-0-products-883050113.html
Wasn't sure if Decibel would achieve positive cash flow this quarter, but was happy to see they made it. Pretty amazing that same store sales increased 37% during a pandemic, but not surprising as Canadian cannabis sales have been on the rise nationally. They increased store revenues to $3.8M for an average of $950K per store. Decibel has since added two more stores during the current quarter.
Also happy to hear Decibel has begun shipping its first orders of concentrates and vapes into the provinces. This will add a completely new revenue stream going forward. Good to know the Thunderchild cultivation facility is now substantially completed, and Qwest has started bringing their new high THC genetics into the facility. Hopefully this means Health Canada is getting ready to approve the facility for commercial production.
It's also very reassuring to know that Decibel is in compliance with all its financial covenants and expects to remain in compliance for the remainder of its 12 month forecast. Hopefully the addition of 2 more stores, plus concentrate revenues, and Thunderchild adding 4x more cultivation capacity/revenues, will help the company pay down debt quickly over this period.
To me this was a great report under adverse conditions. Congrats to the entire Decibel team for continuing to provide essential products to customers during unprecedented times without interruption. Someday cannabis investors will begin to appreciate the premium craft segment of the market, but until that day I will continue to buy and hold. glta
1933 has been heavily promoting their Canna Hemp products on Instagram. They are currently offering a swag bundle with orders over $100 that includes a set of Canna Hemp lip balms. Another well known CBD company, Veritas Farms, just reported lip balm is a #1 seller nationally.
Instead of trying to offer every CBD product imaginable, 1933 should focus on what's actually selling nationally in large numbers like lip balm at the point of sale. Veritas is using bowls of lip balms located at the check out registers. Simple and effective merchandising is key.
1933 needs to realize they don't need multiple SKU's for every possible CBD need. To me 1933 just needs to have a few affordable products that sell like hot cakes rather than trying to be all things to all people. imho glta
https://www.instagram.com/p/CECIKbcD1cE/
YMR, Decibel opened two new stores earlier this month. One is in Calgary, the other in Edmonton. This brings their total to six active Prairie Records cannabis dispensaries operating in two provinces.
This should really help the Q3 numbers since Canadian cannabis sales are currently at record highs. The Q2 numbers could come any day now, and should give us a good read on their progress towards achieving cash flow positive results.
Don't think the market is reflecting the true value of Decibel just yet, but as they close in on profitability things could rapidly change for the better. Especially with the added revenues from Qwest concentrate products about to come online.
Also Qwest has been really busy releasing new high THC cultivars like Kush Mints, Pineapple Cake, and Point Break. Check it out on their Instagram below :) GL

Glad to see EXP is beginning their Cannabis 2.0 products with Gummies. Chocolate and Gummies seem to be the big winners in the edible space. Looking forward to seeing the Citizen Stash concentrates that were announced to be coming soon. Also Citizen Stash will be introducing a new strain shown here on Instagram.

Looks like another winner, in a long line of winners. Glad to see Citizen Stash posting again on Instagram. Social media is super important these days, especially in Canada where traditional advertising is not allowed. Hopefully we see more of it in the future. glta
My take. If NGW is planning to double or triple capacity, as Mike has stated, they will need more dispensaries to sell their products in the near future. NGW will now have a distributor relationship to act as their sales force leaving NGW to focus on what they do best, growing and extracting premium cannabis.
Also NGW's extraction facility is about to come online and should be producing much higher volumes of concentrate products for themselves, and other growers. NGW could be a growers one stop shop to extract, package, brand, and distribute their products for them using a fee based menu for services provided.
With the upcoming increase in flower and extraction capacity NGW will need a trusted distribution network to keep the product flowing without interruption. That's my take on it. gl
Looks like NGW has entered a distribution deal with premium cannabis accessories company CRONJA. It appears they have negotiated a deal with NGW as their preferred So Cal distributor. The co-founders came from the PAX & JUUL companies so they probably have plenty of cannabis dispensary connections to help NGW expand their footprint. Like :)

GRWG had a good quarter, but still only posted a positive net income of $2.6 million. My guesstimate for NGW, based on the preliminary numbers they provided for Q2, is around $1.4 million positive net income. If so NGW is way outperforming GRWG based on market caps. We'll find out soon enough. glta
Grape Sundae is also available @ 30.2% THC!!!
Looks like the pheno hunt was successful!!!
Congrats to Mike & the entire NGW team!!!
GI544, Think you may be right on the tide turning here. 1933's new President says they are cutting out anything that doesn't show a quick path to profitability. I'm thinking some of the CBD products will be first to go. Maybe keep the new CBD plus line and jettison the rest. Also some unproductive partnerships might need the ax.
Sounds to me like their main focus going forward will be producing THC products for the Nevada market, which seems smart to me. THC products will always be the cash cow of the cannabis industry. It may take a quarter or two to right the ship, but I like the direction the new management team is heading. gl

NGW has vastly expanded their concentrate products since my last update. HaH Coalinga has 20 concentrate products listed online. NGW products account for 11 of the 20 available. Wow!!! This is up from just 1 concentrate product available early last week. Looks like NGW is going all in on higher margin concentrate products. Sounds good to me. NGW also has 3 of its most popular dried flower strains available including GMO Cookies, which is #1 in potency @ 32.86% THC. They also have the #1 most potent concentrate, Wedding Cake Diamonds @ 85.59% THC. With cannabis sales in California at record levels NGW's high potency products should be selling like hot cakes. The NGW team is on fire producing high THC/Terp products consumers want. Like :)
They should also consider growing vertically using shorter autoflowering strains, and double capacity that way. Quicker and less costly. imho gl
California cannabis sales reach record $348 million in July
https://mjbizdaily.com/california-records-record-high-348-million-in-cannabis-sales-in-july/
Noticing the cannabis dispensaries are currently running low on cannabis inventory across all product categories. Have a Heart usually has 50 to 60 strains of dried flower available, now there are only 13 available. Two weeks ago NGW had 8 products available at HaH, now there are only 2 remaining. California could be heading into a cannabis shortage if they aren't there already. If so good news for NGW product sales. glta

Glad to see 1933 is doubling their CBD products potency while lowering their prices. CBD products have remained overpriced considering the drastic decrease in bulk CBD prices that manufacturers pay on the wholesale market. This should help 1933 stand out in a overpriced CBD market where consumers are seeking value pricing now more than ever. Also glad to see 1933 is expanding their hemp seed oil products for sale on Amazon and Walmart's online stores. The new CEO is fighting for market share by right pricing products in a overpriced space. Like :)
Really think a Target/Thrive merger would be good for both companies. Target has the facility and Thrive has the expertise and manpower. They also have a small cultivation/extraction facility as well.
Target brings more to the table as far as licensed square footage, but Thrive brings the know how to make it successful. Seems like a 50/50 merger would be more cost effective than the expenses incurred by two companies with the synergies created.
Thrive has already shown interest in merging with a public company in the past when they had talks with Beleave Cannabis. This might already be in the works, but as a shareholder my vote would be to merge. Win Win :) glta

Great partnership that offers a unique product to the Nevada market through 1933's supply chain. With 1933's recent focus on flower it's good to see the extraction division is still bringing in new business to the company as well. Welcome aboard!!!
Looks like Las Vegas cannabis sales are up. Another Las Vegas cannabis cultivator just reported that sales for July were up 64% with gross sales of $3.2 million.
Flower One's CEO had this to say about their revenue returning to pre-COVID-19 levels.
"These past several months have been challenging, and Nevada continues to see the impact of COVID-19 on its economy and its residents. Our Company's dedication to servicing the Nevada cannabis market and providing our retail partners with a consistent supply of some of the highest-quality product available, even in unprecedented circumstances, is evident in our July sales numbers. We are pleased to see the recent pace of our sales returning to pre-COVID-19 levels, even without a full recovery of tourism to Nevada," said Ken Villazor, President and Chief Executive Officer of Flower One.
Villazor continued: "Throughout the past few months, Flower One has acutely focused on improving our operational efficiencies and increasing the market penetration of our growing brand portfolio, including premium brands Cookies and 22Red. We've also continued to diversify our revenue base and added 14 new retail accounts since the start of the second quarter for a total of 93 accounts. We look forward to continuing to support our brand and retail partners as the Nevada economy rebounds."

Hard to say what may have happened here. The deal to ship cannabis to Israel sounded like it was already in progress in the press release. I've seen releases get pulled back for revision and re-released in corrected form.
Maybe Target doesn't want to sell their 50% share of the product wholesale. The earlier Thrive/Target JV press release said Target would sell their share through their own supply chain.
Wouldn't be surprised if the deal gets modified in some way with a new press release showing the changes. imho glta
