This company is certainly no threat to Sigma Labs, but this does tend to confuse things a bit:
http://www.therecycler.com/posts/print-rite-launches-3d-printer-and-consumables/
Print-Rite is a company that manufactures knock-off toner cartridges, and looks like they're getting in the 3d printing of plastics. I'm glad Printrite3d is a registered trademark.
Dadx4, thanks for the message. Unfortunately, I can't respond to private messages since I don't subscribe to IHUB. Actually tore it doing yoga of all things. Want to get back to playing ultimate frisbee and beach volleyball (I'm an old man, 51 playing young man's games). Upside, is I will have more time to work on the blog, and hope to have it done by Monday next week.
Yeah, I'm not to concerned either way on the email. Just found out I have a torn meniscus in my left knee. Bad news, no sports for a while. Good news is that it will leave more free time to work on the blog.
I'm assuming your referring to the email I sent him; and no reply yet.
Nice work and yeah I will put your graphic right at the top of the blog. I will follow with a table that provides some more narrative about Sigma's relationships, including references for those that want more detail. That way between the graphic and the table, people will be able to get a decent understanding that Sigma, while a small company, has impressive relationships.
The blog is taking a while as I am learning about Sigma while I'm doing it and want to make sure it is factually accurate, and the connections that I'm making can be backed up. It's actually a great DD exercise, which I kind of new going into it.
Good one.
Thanks for the info. That's what it looks like to me, but I'll do some more research and see if I can pin it down.
As I mentioned last week I'm working on a blog to update where Sigma Labs is at. At the beginning of the blog I am going to have a table that shows the various, grants, contracts, agreements Sigma has in place with entities such as NIST, America Makes, various aerospace companies, etc. A quick summary that shows all the great relationships they have.
Question I have is did Sigma Labs (B6Sigma) win two America Makes awards? The following two links have B6Sigma on two different teams.
This one does not list Honeywell or Aerojet Rocketdyne:
http://www.manufacturing.gov/MSAM_Awards.html
And this Sigma press release names Honeywell & Aerojet Rocketdyne as part of the team:
http://sigmalabsinc.com/index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=95&cntnt01origid=77&cntnt01returnid=59
What am I missing?
Not sure the exact involvement Sigma has with the 3d printed engine manufactured by Aerojet Rocketdyne, but they're both on the team that won the "America Makes" Award:
SIGMA LABS, INC. PART OF TEAM AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS "AMERICA MAKES" ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING PROJECT
SIGMA LABS NEWS RELEASE - Sigma Labs Partners with General Electric Aviation, Honeywell Aerospace, and Aerojet Rocketdyne for "America Makes" Project

Sounds like more hits then misses on getting a reply to an email, which is good. I have a big chunk (for me) invested in Sigma, so I plan on being an active investor. I'm in it for the long haul, but still want to be kept up to date as much as possible.
Good to hear that Mark got back to you in a prompt manner. I will give him time to get back to me. And trust me, on one hand, I hope that they're so busy that they can't return emails.
Does it make sense to call the company and complain, if questions are not being answered? I emailed them through their website with questions and got no response (not surprised). I called them and specifically asked who I should email my questions to regardig investor relations and the receptionist gave me Mark Cola's email. Got an out of office reply, will be back Monday. I figure I'll give until mid next week for a response. Even if they can't or don't want to answer a question a quick email stating "sorry, we can't answer that" should be sent out.
Semantics aside, LQMT has and will continue to benefit from both Apple exposure and the Crucible patents.
Please provide more "backward looking statements," they're fascinating (this is sarcasm).
Watts, first off my suggestion to split the board in two was sarcasm. While no one can deny your incredible knowledge of LQMT (you could write the definitive history of LQMT) calling what you do "healthy" is a stretch at best. You're 99 posts away from 5,000 on this board, and over the last 9 months (my involvement in LQMT) a large %age of those have been bitter, backward looking opinions. We all understand management is important, and a company’s track record is important. Wonder if it would hurt to put some of that knowledge into explaining why Apple would be investing huge sums of $ in LQMT, why Hauck came on board, the patents, etc. No one is asking for you to blow smoke and rah rah LQMT, but it might be healthy to have a little hope.
Secondly, I've been in and out of LQMT, got back in when the Visser issue was settled. I welcome and appreciate both sides of the argument. Two things I don't appreciate, those that hype the stock for no apparent reason and those that live in the past. The company is evolving; sure mgmt is the same, but companies like Apple, Materion etc., aren't intimately involved here for their health. Sorry things aren’t going to plan for you here. And truth be told, I would block your posts, if it wasn’t for the fact that if and when good news hits, you’re one of the few here knowledgeable enough that could potentially put some additional pieces of information together. That is, of course, if you’re not too consumed with your pessimism at that moment in time.
I think it is time to split this board in two. We can have one board for those that like to dig up articles from 10 years ago, complain about management, and be bitter till their heart's content. And we can have another board that discusses the present, realizes the sizable investment Apple has made in LQMT, and realizes there is potential in the future. How do we make this happen?
Now it is down .0059 cents and 1.7% with a volume of 6500, so back to normal. I like their product, but don't like how low the trading volume is lately, especially with news being released recently. What is your take on the following recent press release:
"FLYHT Aerospace Solutions Ltd. ("FLYHT") (TSX-VENTURE:FLY)(OTCQX:FLYLF) is pleased to announce it has granted incentive stock options for an aggregate 2,495,750 common shares, subject to regulatory approval, to employees, officers and directors under the stock option plan approved at the Annual and Special meeting on June 24, 2014.
The stock options are exercisable at a price of $0.40 per share which is approximately 8% above the current trading price on the TSX Venture Exchange. They also feature immediate vesting and expire on December 31, 2017. A maximum of 10% of the issued and outstanding shares are reserved under the Company's stock option plan. The options, and any common shares issued upon exercise of the stock options are subject to a four-month resale restriction."
My Scottrade account is showing FLYLF up today 0.29 cents, up 84% on a volume of 500. How is that possible?
Email sent. Unfortunately, looks like I won't get a reply until next week: "I'm currently out of the office. Returning Monday, 30th of June."
I will add that to the email. I'm going to send the email after lunch in about an hour. So if anyone else has anything to add, let me know.
Since it seems like a question worth asking, I'm going to email Mark Cola and ask how they acquired (purchased, leased, etc.) the EOS printer. Before I do, any other questions I should ask that he may be able to answer.
We have Management, Monitoring & Metrics. Driftinwayoflife is going to award 1,000 shares of SGLB to the winner.
It would be nice to know what it stands for. And surprised that it is not spelled out on the Justia Trademarks site. Also, after looking at them again, IPQA was filed on the same date as IPQM: June 3, 2014. I assumed IPQA was trademarked a while ago.
So Sigma has two trademarks now: IPQA & IPQM
http://trademarks.justia.com/owners/sigma-labs-inc-2871299/
I'm assuming IPQM stands for "In Process Quality Management"
Here's some old news: Sigma Labs Partners with General Electric Aviation, Honeywell Aerospace, and Aerojet Rocketdyne for "America Makes" Project
Here's some new news:
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/aerojet-rocketdyne-successfully-tests-engine-made-entirely-with-additive-manufacturing-2014-06-23?reflink=MW_news_stmp
Anyone know how closely we're working with Aerojet Rocketdyne?
Thanks. I haven't starting compiling it yet, I'm thinking with my work schedule it will probably be a few days to a week until it is ready.
Will do, and I'll definitely be looking for input and opinions from many on this board.
Checked out the wiki, yeah it's OK but I like the blog idea better. I want to present facts about the company and then provide some commentary/opinion to potentially help connect some dots. For example when the casual investor sees the PR that Sigma bought/acquired (I'm going to email them and ask, which it is) an EOS Model 290 advanced 3D metal printer, I want to provide additional commentary. Many won't realize that GE has many EOS printers and that the Model 290 has Materialise software loaded on it. Thus the Sigma/GE/EOS/Materialise connection is further solidified. And while I realize there are many more knowledgeable investors on this board than me (yourself included), I will look to bounce ideas off of this board and steal others commentary, where appropriate.
So I've been posting news, press releases, etc. regarding Sigma Labs within the comments section of SGLB articles on Seeking Alpha and various other sites. I've also directed people to JJ's "Unofficial Sigma Lab's Blog." Was thinking of starting a blog, from where JJ left off (April 11, 2014) to the present. Before I do that I would like to know if it can be posted just below JJ's blog on IHUB. I have a free membership at IHUB, so don't know if I could do it or someone else (with a pay membership) would have to post it. I will obviously include all the major news and agreements in the blog, but if others want to suggest other relevant news they have found that may be often the beaten path, that would be good.
Silversmith, thanks for providing your opinion on this. Seems like more dots are being connected.
I agree it is positive news towards the path to commercialization. On a separate note: What, if any, affect does the Materialise IPO have on Sigma?
I know we want to put a positive spin on things, but let's be real, based on what we currently know about Adurant Tech, it's difficult to assess them and their true capabilities. And BTW, I am as long as long can be, as I have a big chunk of change (for me at least) riding on Sigma.
Yeah, I think I'm just spoiled with all the large companies that Sigma is aligned with. I'm not saying Adurant Tech is not capable (because I really have no idea and know very little about "big data"), just wish they were a bigger and more established company.
Anyone here know much about Adurant Technologies? My initial excitement has waned after doing a little research. Appears to be a company with less than 10 employees and $1-5 million in revenue (source zoominfo.com). The corporate HQ is a small commercial condominium:
757 Maleta Ln Suite 201 Castle Rock, CO 80108
Commercial Condominium | 1,222 sq ft
They are an Oracle Gold Partner, for what that is worth.
Time permitting (I'm leaving for vacation, Park City on Friday) I'll take a crack at it. There will be both fact and opinion contained within it, since obviously we don't know all the facts.
Well there are patents that show a connection between GTAT and LQMT, and GTAT is ramping up. Watt we got is the opinion of the most jaded, would like to get an opinion from someone that is a bit more objective. Uh oh, I feel a nasty reply/poem coming on.
Well additivemanufacturing.com seems to think at least some of those jobs are related to AM/3D printing, or they wouldn't have put it on there website:
http://additivemanufacturing.com/tag/ges-advanced-manufacturing-works/
Not sure how relevant this is to LQMT, but maybe someone smarter than me can comment:
http://seekingalpha.com/article/2264433-gt-advanced-technologies-update-latest-supply-chain-check
For what it's worth, Materialise is there.
