Motorola, Teikon and Neah links or alumni......plus the ownership of the largest chip foundry Ne Xt terra like the Paul Sildo video...lots going on in Abu Dhabi.
The Neah video showed the batteries made on the silicon foundry chip equipment, it would seem if a company just upgraded its chip making equipment and was the largest (as called out in the video) chip making company that they could well use the older equipment to make the new Neah batteries.... NeXt Terra as in the title of the video.... coincidentally located in Abu Dhabi. . Not to mention that it's just one of several outlandish ideas that Daimler has written checks to of late, including the Volocopter drone taxi.
https://www.engadget.com/2017/09/14/daimler-fast-charging-storedot-investment/
Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz (and others) is pushing to get the majority of its vehicles to run on electricity. But there's still the issue of slow battery charging times that needs to be overcome if users are going to abandon gas. Which is why Daimler is throwing some of its cash towards Israeli startup StoreDot, which is working on a way to fully charge an EV in just five minutes.
The company has raised $60 million in investment, with other partners including Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovitch and Samsung. Although it's the latter that's more interesting, since it's a company that knows a thing or two about the need for stable fast-charging batteries. StoreDot will spend the cash on developing FlashBattery, its replacement for Lithium Ion tech that will offer 300 miles of range on a single charge.
It's hoped that, in the not-too distant future, FlashBatteries will be built into production EVs at source as a modern-day replacement for existing power-storage tech. The fact that Daimler's backing the project makes that a little bit more likely, since the pair can develop automotive-friendly solutions together. Not to mention that it's just one of several outlandish ideas that Daimler has written checks to of late, including the Volocopter drone taxi.

In 2017, VTO developed and verified innovative lithium ion technology with the potential to reduce battery pack cost to $219/kWh
alpha-En Corporation and Argonne National Lab Will Advance alpha-En Technology to Produce Lithium Metal Anodes for EV Batteries with $750,000 Award From DOE Technology Commercialization Fund
https://energy.gov/eere/articles/energy-department-announces-15-million-batteries-and-electrification-enable-extreme
Today, the Energy Department announced up to $15 million for research projects on batteries and vehicle electrification technologies to enable extreme fast charging. The Department's Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO) funds early-stage, high-risk research to generate knowledge upon which industry can develop and deploy innovative transportation energy technologies that improve efficiency, lower costs, and increase use of secure, domestic energy sources.
VTO is seeking research projects to develop plug-in electric vehicle systems that can recharge rapidly at high power levels, decreasing charge time to 15 minutes or less. Advanced battery projects will focus on early-stage research of battery cells that can enable extreme fast charging, while electrification projects will support the development and verification of electric drive systems and infrastructure for extreme fast charging (400-kW).
In a new VTO-funded report also being released today, researchers at Idaho National Laboratory teamed with Argonne National Laboratory and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to identify technical gaps to implementing an extreme fast charging network in the United States. This report highlights technical gaps at the battery, vehicle, and infrastructure levels. The full report can be found on the VTO reports and publication page.
In 2017, VTO developed and verified innovative lithium ion technology with the potential to reduce battery pack cost to $219/kWh of usable energy, an approximately 80% reduction since 2008. This funding opportunity aims to continue building on this progress to decrease the time needed to charge an electric vehicle and drive down battery costs to save consumers and businesses money.
For more information on this funding opportunity and application requirements, please visit the EERE Exchange website or Grants.gov.
If you look through the References from these reports all seem to be from April 2017 or much earlier....before the Neah battery samples arrive so it is quite interesting time of the reports and references. (check all the footnotes..)

From the Article:
Our goal is to give drivers an experience they're familiar with, and that is being able to pull into a station, charge their battery and be on their way in about 10 minutes," said Argonne chemist and battery expert Ira Bloom, who sees this happening in the near future. DOE's Vehicle Technologies Office is demonstrating its commitment to this effort through a $15 million funding opportunity announced Oct. 24.
If and I mean If, NEAH gets some of that funding then we will know its their battery that sparked the "in the near future" comment.

Julia,
I contacted the PI (Ira Bloom) and here is his update on this project:
Greg: It took a while to get the CRADA paperwork in place. The CRADA was fully executed on 4/18/2017. We received the initial samples for characterization from NEAH Power. The samples were shipped to us on 5/26/2017 and were received in June. The baseline material was characterized in terms of microstructure; these results were shared with NEAH by e-mail and discussed with them on a phone call on 7/10/2017. We continue to characterize their materials and should have more results to share with them by the end of the week. --Ira
So, it looks like things are now on track and the project is underway.

Julia,
I contacted the PI (Ira Bloom) and here is his update on this project:
Greg: It took a while to get the CRADA paperwork in place. The CRADA was fully executed on 4/18/2017. We received the initial samples for characterization from NEAH Power. The samples were shipped to us on 5/26/2017 and were received in June. The baseline material was characterized in terms of microstructure; these results were shared with NEAH by e-mail and discussed with them on a phone call on 7/10/2017. We continue to characterize their materials and should have more results to share with them by the end of the week. --Ira
So, it looks like things are now on track and the project is underway.

Neah has been added as collaborator with a much bigger budget..
Ira Bloom is listed on websites very little current information from Argonne mostly 2016 news....

Correct and in complete agreement..
Its just one of the those
Things that make you go Hmmmm.
As you said, this could be coincidence. Or it could be NPWZ has a battery that does what they it does and recharges quickly because of its 3 D design and meet the safety standards are per the video...

Is it just a coincidence that the Team Lead working with NEAH on the VTO project is quoted here and announced as point on the new development push and the funding opportunity ?
http://www.usagnet.com/state_headlines/state_story.php?tble=IL2017&ID=1245
From the Article:
Our goal is to give drivers an experience they're familiar with, and that is being able to pull into a station, charge their battery and be on their way in about 10 minutes," said Argonne chemist and battery expert Ira Bloom, who sees this happening in the near future. DOE's Vehicle Technologies Office is demonstrating its commitment to this effort through a $15 million funding opportunity announced Oct. 24.
If and I mean If, NEAH gets some of that funding then we will know its their battery that sparked the "in the near future" comment.
How fast can a NEAH battery charge ? Supposedly the fact that NEAH batteries are composed of massive numbers of tiny batteries ( pores ) they have a fast re-charge because the re-charge time is determined by each pore.
In many cases un-related things are posted here, this is the 3rd in a series of news announcements by Argonne and I had seen the others with no relation to NEAH , except possibly a reference to silicon in the batteries and the problems inherent along with advantages in one of them. Then I saw this one and it is quoting the Chief Scientist who has been looking at the NEAH battery since summer.
In the last VTO post test characterization update in the June 2017 merit review of the prior years testing, there were no profound discoveries announced. They abused a set of batteries and they degraded accordingly. Then NEAH was added to the collaboration and 5 months later the Chief Scientist gets positive about mainstreaming EV's ?
Things that make you go Hmmmm.
As I said, this could be coincidence.
If you read the last PR, it seems that the might have caught up to the March 27th statements...
We continue our efforts on multiple fronts to capitalize the Company to realize the potential of the different technologies, with an emphasis on the PowerChip® battery
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/neah-power-systems-company-update---march-2017-617168523.html
BOTHELL, Washington, March 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
Neah Power Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: NPWZ) (OTC: NPWZ) - today issued the following Company update:
Business development and capital sourcing: This continues to be a challenge for the Company, and we are pursuing various financing and licensing avenues in different regions of the world.
I was in China in December 2016 for discussions related to the licensing of the Company products, due to the emphasis on the hydrogen economy in China. A NY Times, Jan 05 2017, report indicates that the China government is expected to spend about $350B between now and 2020 to deploy a hydrogen economy. The Company representatives, including myself, are scheduled to travel again to China during 25th - 31st March 2017 to further the dialog on the battery technology and the hydrogen technology. We can only guess that the China trip would have something to do with battery production....perhaps Globalfoundries Gobalfab business with the references to the IoE by Paul Sildo...
Separately, I was traveling in the UAE and the UK in January 2017, to pursue funding and / or licensing avenues and we continue to have dialog with these entities.(maybe this is the IKEA power wall deal)
We recently added Mr. Paul Sidlo to the Board of Directors. Mr. Sidlo, an accomplished executive and technology visionary is based out of Abu Dhabi, and is managing various relationships in the region that are critical to the future success of the Company. Paul was made CO CEO and Pres of Marketing ( at least 3 very good XNGRI video were released, an office as opened in Abu Dabhi and one in India...and the office in Seattle and Washington....
We are in the process of shipping samples to Argonne National Laboratory related to the PowerChip® battery. We are very optimistic about the performance of the battery based on the performance we have seen to date.
We know this was a success at least the battery have arrived and that Neah power is a collaborator with the 4 other national labs is there something going on with the XFC capabilities of the Neah battery, is there a Fisker battery with Neah Tech? what of the Daimler rumor, who's battery did Telsa put in the Semi Truck? it is not the one they were using.....
Thank you for your continued support and best regards,
Chris D'Couto
President and CEO
About Neah Power Systems, Inc.
Neah Power Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:NPWZ)
We continue our efforts on multiple fronts to capitalize the Company to realize the potential of the different technologies, with an emphasis on the PowerChip® battery. For recent followers of the Company, we want to highlight our key products. We have the PowerChip® anaerobic (non-air) fuel cell, most recently accepted by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of the Government of India. We also have the Formira Hydrogen on Demand (Formira HOD), the most energy dense solution for the generation of hydrogen from a safe liquid source. The BuzzBar Suite is an off-grid charging solution for consumer and commercial applications. We shipped our BuzzBar Gen2 product, and have a Gen3 design that will ship once we close the next round of financing. Finally, we have the PowerChip® Battery which recently received a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy in the advanced manufacturing category in partnership with Argonne National Laboratory. All of our products and technologies are covered by 15 patents, 11 pending patent applications and various trade secrets and know how.
Jeffery Sakaquchi and some of the other board members....
You have to ask yourself why would they remain connected with a firm that has gone dark....most likely some personal connection to some future revenue stream.
Jeffery was chairman of the board...and it went dark....hopefully the absence of some of the prior members is an indication that the controlling influence as to the company have been replaced....
Why would this people be connected with NPWZ for all these years?
Paul did release 3 video only two of which still work.....and seems to have an office in Called Spectrum IT Abu Dhabi from which he could easily be running XNGRI. There is Paul, and IT guy who no doubt is running the XNGRI website.... and a lawyer doing MOU if the past is any indicator....

NEW VIDEO:
https://vimeo.com/231188779
Paul Sidlo has a new XNRGI video showing the safety of the battery.
They take a battery punch a nail through it twice ( normally would short the battery ) then cut the edges and expose the wafer material.
The whole time measuring voltage output which stays steady and temperature which stays steady.
This is impressive !
Bill
from the xnrgi video
Maybe, with the NEAH Power Fuel cell, as a range extender as well it is an interesting concept....

Very interesting article. I'm not claiming there is any connection, other than the promises made by the XNRGI website fit the bill, but we've heard many promises before.
Tesla’s newest promises on Semi Truck, Roadster break the laws of batteries
To deliver on promises Elon Musk made last week, Tesla would have to far exceed what is currently thought possible
Elon Musk knows how to make promises. Even by his own standards, the promises made last week while introducing two new Tesla vehicles — the heavy-duty Semi Truck and the speedy Roadster — are monuments of envelope pushing. To deliver, according to close observers of battery technology, Tesla would have to far exceed what is currently thought possible.
