HERE WE GO. http://watch.bnn.ca/squeezeplay/december-2009/squeezeplay-december-10-2009/#clip244949 - ZAPPING CO2
Well done. This is Canadas Busines News Network.
As politicians, scientists and climate change watchers debate what to do about greenhouse gas emissions in Copenhagen, one company has come up with a unique solution. BNN speaks to Larry Kristof, CEO, Mantra Venture Group, whose company has proposed zapping CO2 through electro-reduction.
i just chatted with kol. he said larry was on tv yesterday on bbn.ca talking about the ERC, ill find it and post.
the holiday season is a great time to accumulate
this is big for Mantra,
Working with the Swiss, bringing together our synergistic technologies for hydrogen power
Mantra has recently concluded a Collaboration Agreement with Ecole Politechnique Federale de Lausanne, a leading Swiss university (department: Faculté des Sciences de Base, Institut des Sciences et Ingénierie Chimiques (ISIC)), and Granit Green Networks SA (http://www.granit.net/ ) who commercialize green technology, often by way of private-public partnerships, to achieve sustainable development. The EPFL team of professors and scientists is lead by Dr. Gabor Laurenczy; Granit’s founder is Dr. Alain Jenny. We are collaborating specifically to explore the value in combining our electro reduction of carbon dioxide (ERC) technology and their hydrogen on demand at pressure technology. It is an exciting opportunity that we believe can lead to a large market potential.
Ecole Politechnique Federal de Lausanne is a leading Swiss university with an excellent reputation. We are collaborating with a skilled and proven team of scientists and researchers who have invented the EPFL technology – it is now PCT patent pending. Granit SA is an interesting company with a nearly 40 year history of commercializing green technologies – it has acquired the license to this opportunity.
The benefit of our working together is that we can explore the synergy between our two technologies:
• ERC will produce clean formic acid having a negative carbon balance when done correctly (it does not use fossil fuels for power)
• Formic acid is a safe, secure hydrogen carrier; for transportation and storage it is much safer than hydrogen gas under pressure
• The EPFL/GGN system will produce 636 liters of hydrogen at ambient pressure from 1 liter of formic acid at pressures up to 600 bar (a very high pressure)
• For most hydrogen applications it is impractical to deal with the gas at ambient pressure as it is too voluminous – it must be compressed, a step that usually requires energy and time
• The two technologies together represents clean hydrogen gas at a suitable pressure wherever and whenever needed.
The excitement, however, lies in understanding the potential applications and the markets that this can open up. The market for hydrogen is huge because it is a surgically clean fuel. It is perfect when it can be created from a clean source of formic acid (by ERC), and because it is much safer and easier to transport and store as formic acid liquid. Clean hydrogen on demand at pressure: the perfect fuel for many applications and especially the standard fuel cell.
The combined technologies can overcome the hydrogen infrastructure barrier – our society’s inability to make hydrogen readily available where and when needed. The hydrogen infrastructure barrier contributes to the recent success of battery powered light commuter cars n outcompeting similar vehicles powered by fuel cell. If the fuel cell’s potential is to be accessed and to succeed, new technology is required. The potential market in this application alone is the equivalent of replacing up to 20% of oil usage in the US – it is potentially huge.
GGN is planning shortly to test a boat powered by hydrogen, driving a fuel cell giving quiet, efficient electric propulsion – a dramatic demonstration of their technology.
Mantra very much looks forward to exploring the combined technologies with GGN and having access to its many resources including EPFL. The project that we are working toward is an example of the power of synergy. As we succeed together, and as we find applications of use in industry, we will also prove the power of collaboration.
we need some offer smackers and get this party started.
people may want to get in this before that magazine hits the doorsteps. cause Mantra will not be missed by anyone who reads.
i did a little research on this magazine and it seems that they send out 38,000 hard copies. Mantra said this just came out today digitally. So we should see some nice reaction next week to this article.

Some more great info from the Mantra HQ.

these guys are good. Just a quite day out there.
very quiet indeed
sometimes all it takes is little articles like this and boom to a new level. its great though. Good to see an OTCBB company making the largest financial paper in Canada for something that is good.
Just recieved from Mantra HQ. Here is a nice article about Mantra in Canadas largest financial newspaper, the Financial Post.
http://www.financialpost.com/todays-paper/story.html?id=2305703
here is the equity short position link. on the left side of the site you will find it and then plug in the security. http://otcbb.com/asp/OTCE_Short_Interest_popup.asp?Symbol=mvtg&StlmtDt=11/13/2009
i really think 2010 will be a very good year for all of us.
i know that some is short 30K shares of Mantra, if you look up the equity short postition, on otcbb.com, its for as of Nov. 13.
that would my guess as to who is keeping this puppy down. hopefully we see a nice short squeeze.
I will give CABN that, Byron is very good on the camera and interviews. BUT. The last round of financing was at an 80% discount to market. where at 5 and 7 cents that person/persons are very profiatble. I think that what CABN is trying to accomplish is wonderful and would be great if it reached the market. There are just a few concerning issues i had with the structure of the company.
PATENTS PENDING, not in place and only just applied for. Acutally how much liquid building blocks for fuel(not gasoline)are they producing. Show me some numbers here.
Mantra does not convert to gasoline. Never said they did. Formic acid is the product which is a safe carrier of hydrogen FYI. Mass amounts of formic acid can cure the hydrogen infrastructure worldwide. Do u think 3M steps into anything small. NOPE.
i am liking the stability of MVTG. just wish it was at a price north of 2-5 bucks. in time.
seriously need to look into MVTG, this one will be big people. collaboration with 3M, a Saudi Arabia University, Koreans, Carbon Dioxide Recycling Technology. this will make huge strides in 2010.
MVTG collaborates with 3M. This is the start of something massive. CO2 recycling into valuable chemicals. take a peak
MVTG collaborates with 3M. More detailed news about their progress should be coming shortly. a very sexy looking stock, CO2 recycling technology. One of a kind

MVTG collaborated with 3M few weeks back and look to have some more impressive news in the near future regarding that collaboration
i beg to differ. carbon sciences just put through a patent application, so your looking at a few years to be passed if all goes well. they claim they can now go full scale. gooood luck with that. So then why isnt ANY fortune 100 company looking at them? why havent they recieved any funding? their share dilution is already laughable and then someone gets a ton of stock at 80 percent discount. I personally would run for cover.
Everyone should check out MVTG, recently collaborates with 3M. Very nice entry point.
if you are a tech lover. check out MVTG, a CO2 recycling tech like carbon science but much more advanced. recently collaborated with 3M to further develope and support from fed government. Over 2 years into the world wide patenting process.
Has anyone checked out MVTG latley, 3M collaboration
does anyone else think that someone is trying this down. constantly throwing 1000 shares at the bid.
Do these people think that 3M has gone somewhere else? I dont think so, it will only continue to build in strength. We are at the start of something large.
a very slow day in the market, looks like people are still sleeping from the turkey dinners.
i feel that non of your comments have been positive to date. no one here wants to hear your two cents. you obviously have not a clue what is going on. you should take your comments to another board.
i agree also. someone is looking to keep this down. 1000 shares. $170 bucks. big whoop.
i know larry is out of town in meetings for the next few days. hopefully something great comes back with him. go mantra!
dear Mr Ecomike,
Have you done your comparison from Mantra to Carbon Sciences? For me there is no comparison. I cant help but notice that carbon sciences being at such an early stage company (just filed a patent application) and in need of the type of financing to commercialize with already 170m S/O, no partners in sight, and no government support is a death spiral for investors.
And then you see the nail in the coffin with them doing a finacing at 80% discount to market.
you might want to take a closer look at Mantra. they now have 3M, Koreans, Saudis, and government support. 32 million shares OS and around 6 million in the float.
you would think that 3M and government support will add some nice credability to the ERC technology.
My opinion is that something major will be around the corner in the near future.
im thinking 2010 will be a huge year for Mantra.
its looking like we are stable at this area. looking good mantra
got mine. didnt think that would happen that fast. get them while their hot.
ragi,, did you get filled yet? i joined you at .18
they are a serious group and i know 3M has been dealing with mantra for about the last 6 months. Its just the start but you would have think that their is a bigger picture
