TREND1, Disagreement can be good, one can't learn without varied input, but I think with larger volume, one can buy from other individuals, as well as mm, SO, the spread can be smaller, and one has a much bigger group of buyers/sellers to interact with -- sorry if this doesn't make sense, could not think of a better way to say it. My experience with options seems to support my view, tho options are not ETFs. I'd rather trade with emotional individuals than MM, at any rate. I certainly am not an authority on the subject, but given the choice, I will pick volume every time. JMHO, LOL
Any other opinions out there???
cheers,
bobjack
cottonmather, only consider the ones that have decent volume,
here's a link to tons of ETFs:

Hi MSC290, thanks, I thought about that one, but was to lazy and frustrated after tryin about 6 of the others that I had layin around. Finally just got frustrated and thought, WHY BOTHER, I can waste so much time doin stuff like that. Another one I had high hopes for was Beatrix from about 03 or 04. They all laughed at me and the compaq turd box, LOL
I have had good luck with beatrix on others from about the same vintage, tho.

berge, I was surprised to find out that OO was starting to run excel macros -- I looked real hard at OO for macros about a year ago -- no support then, but as I looked for the links for you for wine n codeweavers (I have dabbled in Linux off and on for years), I saw that OO had made a lot of headway in the last year.
I just wasted many hours tryin to get a live cd (many different flavors) to run on an old celeron 677/128 meg of ram. None would boot.
It is a real OLDIE, I should be kicked for even tryin it.
good luck,
bobjack

Hi Ranger, I think you are right on time to slightly early.
We appear to have been mapping out reverse "head n shoulders" on most indices.
I sold some mvv at 68 and some at 70 and bot em back today at 66 n 65.60 (just guessing at the possible right shoulder targets) -- GOT VERY Lucky on the sells. got a little order in to buy mvv at 63, just in case we get that low.
Do you watch Ron and Maurice Walker???
I have been watching these 2 sites for a few weeks now.
They helped me figure my targets and patterns.
I had gotten into mvv at about 64 earlier (on the left shoulder) only to watch it go on down to 60 before reversing back up.
I had about 10% of my capital in sso from about 61.50 on left shoulder and watched it go down to about 54, reverse up to 62.5, and sold it at 61.44 (broke even) just before the drop today. I just went all for mvv and left the sso for you today.
Someone on iHub pointed these twin sites out to me.

Thanks, Ranger, Looks like it's working out for sure,
he's pretty good!

Gleno, here's where ya went wrong on the chart,
remove the img src="http:// from the front of your address and add usual [chart/chart] boxes at the start and end, leaving
[GLENOchart]stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SharpChartv05.ServletDriver?chart=$bpndx,pltad[pa][da][f!3!!]&pnf=y[GLENO/chart]
you were just tired,
take care buddy,
bobjack
Gleno's Bullish % of the NDX chart, "Anyway it is in Bear Confirmed territory"..
Gleno, you were just tired.
jakemem, you are talking 15 min time frame, Gleno is talking 5 min time frame -- they can print different bars (and box) sizes if based on atr and not points.
Read the chart school topic at:
http://stockcharts.com/school/doku.php?id=chart_school:chart_analysis:renko
and here's a Matthew Frailey system using the Renko:
http://breakpointtrades.com/CamtasiaFiles/Renkosystem/Renkosystem.html
leftyg seems to have boiled down a good system for trading mvv and mzz, the drawback is it is NOT EXCITING, most of us here are to prone to jumping helter skelter and begging for action, so lefty's system is just too BLAZAI for us.
The "BEST" is Steve's MVP system - I subscribe to it - and I think leftyg splits money between MVP and his system.
I only watch and learn from curiosity and fear that Steve could disappear (sell his system, get deathly sick, any number of untold possibilities).
I TOO, STRUGGLE with trying to "GAME" MVP.
I could have made 50% more than I have if I had just trusted MVP and followed it EXACTLY.
I subscribed at the start of a streak of loosers.
I had started to follow MVP when it was FREE, and got in at the start of a couple of loosers that time also!!
Me n Gleno -- "The Kiss of Death Brothers" LOL...
Those 2 experiences certainly had an impact on my trust level.
BUT, I watched all the winning signals after that (I didn't take them as I still had scorched skin)
I got reamed few times by brokers with different opening figures, which hurt my faith also.
BUT, my personality also works against me, HENCE the Tendency to Try to Game MVP.
Steve has already been there and done that!! LOL
Had I waded into MVP (went in in steps), the bad timing of losers would not have hurt so much. All those who signed on at the start of a big string of winners REALLY made out.
I made the mistake of taking my first subscription trade signal in the middle also (another loser tho the signal was a winner, I lost by taking it in the middle), another BAD MOVE - JUST GREEDY.
regards,
bobjack
john9o9, WOW, Good Point!!
Gleno, Ya Ho, this one works, but the one from the prior post (#54501) does not. I don't have a clue what the difference is, BUT, this one flies!!! I use a couple charts that you put together for me, on a daily basis.
I have a couple that charger threw out for me over the weekend.
They are MID 10 and 15 min. I'll stash this one with them
Thank you Kind Sir,
And I think The Opposite Of That "Pincer" is "The Spreader" ==> you know how Mr Market Spreads Me Cheeks every chance he gets, LOL,
bobjack
Gleno, they both revert to daily ...
thanks,
bobjack
Gleno, YA, I was just gettin ready to respond and looked to see if anyone else had.
Some of those penny stockers like 1 min charts with the pincer, I think,
Freto has that daily setup.
I had looked for a pincer definition yesterday and knew what it was, BUT, did a more thorough search after you asked the question, and lo and behold I found the stuff I showed you today. You now know as much as I do.. LOL
Hope you get us a great chart whipped up,
thanks,
bobjack
Gleno, a Pincer appears to be a narrowing of the space between a PPO Bottom and an ADX High, when the two graphs are stacked:
PPO over Top of ADX.
Kinda like narrowing of Bollinger Bands.

chainik, I just lurk here, BUT, I always (daily) look for your posts,
SOOO, PLEASE enjoy your VAC, and we will think about YOU enjoying yourself, watch out for the ticks, skeeters, n snakes LOL,
bobjack
Lefty, thanks again for all your info on your system.
How long have you used this system with the rydex funds, if you don't mind telling it?? (I know you recently switched to MVV/MZZ twins).
thanks,
bobjack
Hi Gleno, Are you talking about the top or bottom of the "Bricks", or the actual Closing Price?
Can you post the charts that you are referring to -- that sounds like another QUIRK that we might want to remember?
TIA,
bobjack
Be, You Got It Buddy,
bobjack
Thanks Charger, always a bunch of tricks to have to remember, huh,
bobjack
Gleno, I think that "short term trends (counter trends) in larger trends" is the way to look at that.
The ideal trade is when the short term trend is with the long term trend, right???
the more time frames that signal a "same direction trade" simultaneously, should lead one to expect a higher rate of success..
bobjack
I'll second that!!
Hi charger, can you post that same chart using the $MID ticker instead of wavx so we can watch it update mid real time??
tia,
bobjack
Hi leftyg, It appears to me that "in a trend reversal..the change in price is 2 bricks in size" can actually be almost 3 bricks, and still appear as 2 bricks.
If the initial trend paints a new red brick, moves to within a hair (say 95%)of painting the next red brick, then reverses, price can move almost]/b] 3 bricks to paint the new white reversal brick.
I have been studying the renkos all week, and I believe that I am right. Trying to guess profits and loss' from looking at daily renkos appears to be rather hard also. It appears that one assumes to catch the turns, when the daily can paint several new boxes at the update, which would preclude one to make a trade at the turning point (middle of that string of new boxes).
It's the same effect as having stops hit by gap openings and then returning back close to filling the gap, or actually filling the gap.
I recognize that while watching intraday, renkos can paint and then remove boxes at the close of the period. It seems that there are two major factors clouding the usefulness of the renko.
1) intraday is more errattic (painting/unpainting boxes)
2) daily can paint many boxes at once - that gap effect
I am fascinated by the renkos, but cannot quite come to grips with these situations that I have mentioned.
I hope someone here can explain it better, or show me that I am looking at it incorrectly!!
I have been burnt many times by thinking I understood forms of t/a, and even trading practices/rules of the brokers.
tia,
bobjack
Hi Chico, I have watched you and Gloe post about the Chaikin,
and having only looked at it on QT, I could never see why you guys liked it. Seemed useless to me.
"For some reason, the QT version seems much more erratic."
[b[NOW, I understand why it looked so useless to me!! Have never seen it on any other intra-day charts
thanks for the enlightenment,
bobjack
Frank, bot some WB @ 17.82 -- had a 30 min buy signal and trinq dropped -- afraid of BBT here,
regards,
bobjack
rab120, That's Good -- I thought you might end the story with the guy becoming a woman,
bobjack
Frank, I had an order entered (read that typed into the entry form) for 500 shares @ 22.07 while it kept dropping - watched it go below the 22.07 to 21.41 and kept watching "trinq" (it had fallen and went back up a couple of cycles), BUT NEVER had the Kahonnas to hit the Order Entry Button. This being Option Exp week scared me to much, and I FROZE -- Did You go for it??
Toward the end of the day, I kept watching and it looked like a flag forming, but I saw it close to the top of the orig down channel and still chickened out -- Part of my fear was gettin stopped out and then being unable to trade while waiting for the 3 day period to clear - it woulda been a portion of my IRA...
If you took it, I AM ROOTIN FOR YA!!!
Dang ME, and thanks for pointing them out,
bobjack
Hi Frank, How bout an update on your thoughts on BBT and WB.
BBT took that hit this morning, and hovering at about 22.75.
TIA,
bobjack
Hi Gleno, That came across as daily, not 60 min for us non subscribers,
thanks,
bobjack

Hi mrnatural, Looking at the first yellow line, and counting or labeling each, I see somewhat obviously Aug 04 Bottom, Dec 04 top, April 05 bottom, Aug 05 top, Nov 05 bottom, May 06 top, July 06 bottom, Nov 06 top, Mar 07 Bot, July 07 Top, Nov 07 Bot, May 08 Top -- REALLY LOOKS LIKE A BOTTOM -- And Upcoming JULY 08 Cycle which should be a Bottom to fit the sequence (Looks like it will be a TOP) --
Looks like both 08 Cycles are Reversed with each other -- Can you comment on the chart and this observation further -- I may be missing something simple, but I cannot figure/understand the look of the 08' cycles relative to all the others...
A Few other cycles look a little flaky, I get them, but the first two 08' Just Look WAY OUT OF WACK!!!
Thanks,
bobjack
Hi Poker, Nah, not looking for a conspiracy, just saying that there was a third one, maybe deleted by accident,

Poker, looks like #14732, #14733, and #14735 are missing, so three are missing,
