AI ($20.45) is probably one good ticker to watch as a barometer to see if we get a real artificial intelligence mania. I don't know the history, but on a 3-year chart, this thing was already at 160 in the past. So maybe artificial intelligence already had its mania in the past? Anyway, the company had news yesterday which was pretty typical of mania plays, "Hey, we do artificial intelligence and incorporate ChatGBT. We're gonna have some products in a month." Lots of big names included, lots of buzzwords, and even a quote from a General (who they fail to mention also happens to work for the company).
I have no idea if this, or any other company will be successful, but the press release feels mania-ish:

GM - The one I was referring to is the Chevy Bolt not the Volt. Chevy calls the Bolt an EUV (electric utility vehicle). Supposedly has good interior room, and I'd say it's reasonably comparable to something like a Toyota Rav4:
https://www.newcars.com/reviews/chevrolet-bolteuv-vs-toyota-rav4hybrid-suv.html
(Again, I'm not recommending it and have never driven one, but have read some pretty good reviews for anyone who might be looking at EVs)
Just haven't seen much news progress thus far. Seems like very few companies listed. Do you us tzero yourself and how have you found the experience?
GM - I've noticed that the Chevy Bolt gets really good reviews and is only like a $27k MSRP. I've not driven one, but it actually looks like it could be a pretty good value for an EV
BDCO - Don't want to jinx it, but BDCO making a little bit of a move.
Yeah, I think we might be entering into a period where any company that announces anything to do with AI is just gonna ramp in price for a few days. Just like with pot stocks awhile back, and 3D printing stocks before that, etc etc. Feels like AI is about to become all the rage.
SI - A good guy to follow on this is veteran short-seller Marc Cohodes. He's been all over Silvergate, plus he called FTX a fraud long before it happened. He's also just fun to listen to. Look up some of his interviews on youtube, if you haven't already.
Additional Charting and Price Tools (Someone asked awhile back where to find natgas prices)
I like sites that are no signup required, fast, and give me as much information as possible on all markets on one screen so I don't have to go thru umpteen dropdown boxes and then wait for the page to refresh each time, etc. For general market info, these two links work best for me:
1) Finviz Futures
If your brain works better with a quick glance at colors, then this is probably the link for you. These are very close to real-time quotes on virtually every market, with no scrolling, plus you can hover over each box to get a little pop-up graph:
https://finviz.com/futures.ashx
2) Trading Economics (quotes are slightly delayed)
This site actually works best for me, because my brain tends to work better on grids, and having similar things grouped together. Plus, you can access long-term graphs very quickly to see where the price is historically, without having to wait for the page to refresh (the link below is to natgas, at the bottom of the chart click on "All" and it re-draws the chart instantly.) Off to the right are other commodities listed, with their prices constantly updated but slightly delayed. Any of those can be clicked on to pull up a chart. Also on the right side, you'll see words at the top that are essentially tabs which are: "Commodity Forex Index Stock Bond Crypto". Click on any of the words and it moves instantly to nicely grouped pricing, about everything in that group, with no page-loading necessary. Lightning fast.

Re Freeport, I'll be darned, it finally happened. And they did get approval end of Jan. So they were correct on the timing (on the fourth try, ha!) Market not reacting to it much.
Curious, do you like SD and SBOW at these levels? I'm tempted. I knew about the hedging, but most of all just kind of like the price action. NG price is plummeting, but for the time being those two have stopped going down.
Yeah, I think you're right
Yeah, it's possible that's the company "website" rather than the one I previously posted.
CDs starting to edge out T-bills for anyone looking to park some safe money for awhile, assuming the banking system doesn't collapse :) Thru brokerages you can get a non-callable 1yr CD paying 4.75% from Charles Schwab Bank, interest at maturity. Whereas the latest 52-week T-bill auction went off at 4.692%. Longer-term CDs are even better when compared to T-notes, whose rates are trending slightly down
Re natgas, kind of interesting that stocks like SD and SBOW are definitely down, but not hitting new lows. Maybe consolidating at the bottom? Even if that's the case, my guess is it's more of a longer term play. If natgas goes down to $2 even, I'll definitely be a buyer of some of these with the idea of holding for a year or two. Natgas has a tendency to have sharp spikes up and sharp spikes down.
This appears to be the company website:

Ignore Button. This is not meant to be snarky, just informational in case anyone truly isn't aware. There's an Ignore button that you can click on for any poster that you don't want to hear. Why live in misery? Click on Ignore and you'll never see any posts from that poster again. Problem solved. Come back and enjoy life. The image below shows where the Ignore button is (circled in red). So as not to offend any other posters, I've used one of my own posts:
Natgas price, yeah it's odd how either thru way too much pumping of a narrative and/or getting lucky on weather both here and abroad, we're gettin darn close to the price beginning with a 2.
Europe gas down from 300 to mid-50s.
Also, the Feds have not responded to Freeport on re-starting. Might happen tomorrow or months from now, who knows. Freeport had asked for a response by yesterday and maybe the price blipped up shortly in anticipation, and the market is once again disappointed. Gotta wonder how Freeport is surviving financially.
Yeah, I find it's often a year or two, forget what the company was with this ticker symbol, and then you just look at your portfolio list and there's some symbol that way up for the day. haha. Sell!
Bank loan portfolio quality? I hadn't thought much about the banking industry until I started opening some of these credit card offers. Got another one from Citibank, 0% for one year, then 28.74% after that. Is that debt ever really going to get paid off? Perhaps huge write-downs coming in another year or two?
I'm just completely shocked by these loan shark rates. Seems like cc rates used to be 12.9%, 14%, that sort of thing.
Nice! Curious, how long ago did you buy?
OT: This is pretty shocking. A couple of artificial intelligence sites have been open for public use for only a few months. According to this Wharton professor, these sites are close to being able to pass some of the toughest professional exams:
I think we haven't fully absorbed the fact that careful academic papers have found ChatGPT clearly passes some of the most challenging American professional exams:

Re natgas, kind of dubious that Freeport says they've completed all their work and submitted an application to begin some procedures that will lead to re-start. They want the Feds to respond in one day. Sounds laughable, but I have no idea how long such a response normally takes. Freeport hasn't had the best relationship with the Feds thus far. Unless the Feds have already approved everything and this is just a formality, this feels like Freeport is trying to pressure the Feds. We'll see how it goes:

NIce!
NG - Freeport restart may extend to February. Shocking! Freeport LNG is private so no idea of their financials, but one has to wonder if they don't have to face some sort of bk or restructuring. We'll be looking at 3/4 of a year with no operations, no money coming in the door. That's tough for any company to survive:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/freeport-lng-may-extend-texas-172328653.html
Re credit card debt, I'm sure you get credit card offers in the mail, same here. I usually just tear them up. Couple days ago, decided to open one from CapitalOne. Talk about shock. They offer a few months of 0% interest and then 26.99% after that! I mean holy crap, that's almost impossible to pay off debt at that rate.
NG more firmly into the 3's this morning. Getting closer to where it's traded historically. Europe gas now around $70, down from $300+. Record high winter temps in Europe.
Energy - More trouble ahead? Cramer has a near-perfect track record of being wrong . . . and he's predicting a boom:
Charts suggest oil, natural gas and wheat could be due for a ‘boom,’ Jim Cramer says https://t.co/2uryrGz383
— CNBC (@CNBC) January 3, 2023
NG (briefly?) breaks into the 3's.
Due to exceptionally weak heating demand, I'm projecting a very bearish +2 BCF daily #natgas storage injection today. However, today will be a near-term bottom for gas demand. Nonetheless, I still expect withdrawals to be at or below the 5-yr avg for at least the next 10-14 days. pic.twitter.com/tNbSQFgVJx

LUV - Final post on this. I don't watch much news, so the only reason I even know about it is becuz I have a relative currently stranded and thought it was a one-off thing. Southwest is based in Dallas, never seen anything like it:
Every single @SouthwestAir arrival into @DallasLoveField is currently #cancelled ✈️ 🆘 pic.twitter.com/7EiXoOXjcN
— Kelly Laco (@kelly_laco) December 26, 2022
LUV - Kind of surprised on Southwest. I thought it would be down maybe 20%. The market doesn't seem to think the problems are that big of a deal. They've cancelled nearly 70% of flights and many peeps are gonna be stranded at airports for 5-7 days:
What a mess. This is the Southwest Airlines baggage claim at Tampa International. There’s 24 more Southwest flights canceled this morning. Many tags on these stranded bags are from travelers from Denver, Houston and Baltimore @BN9 pic.twitter.com/4C6XFA9eib
— Angie Angers (@angie_angers) December 27, 2022
ACDC - Nice! The vertically-integrated thing sure seems like would be a huge benefit to customers and it seems to be working thus far.
LUV - Will be interesting to see how far Southwest Airlines tumbles tomorrow. Leaving massive numbers of people stranded right around Christmas and keeping them stranded in airports till after New Year's -- that's gonna be one massive class action lawsuit settlement. Seems like maybe something majorly wrong with the organization
OT: Merry Christmas to All
ACDC Yes, indeed. Nice move
-Merrry Christmas to you and everyone on the board!
BDCO has seen some improved bid size for a number of days
AATC I bought a small number of shares this morning at 3.79. My logic/guess is that most of the massive selling is from funds that cannot hold shares in OTC companies. And those fund managers are likely to be off for the holidays for all the days after today and before New Year's, and they might as well sell of this position before the end of the year, so sell today. We'll see.
NG - Freeport has been so accurate on their estimated re-start dates that I see no reason not to trust them lol.
I'd guess end of Jan is best case scenario and assumes little to no disagreement from the regulators. If the Feds don't find the answers to be satisfactory, not implausible it could stretch out a few more months. My wild guess is that Feb/March is probably more realistic. Heck, at some point it's got to end.
