Brilliant!
We sell more, we make more.
It's just so simple!
By golly I wish I had thought of that!

Any chance you could post a link? I don't see them on Schwab or here on iHub. Thanks in advance!
-Neb
And where would I find those financials?
-Neb
Now that I think about it I kinda wish it had only been 5...

I'm still trying to figure out where he is speaking from. Clearly neither one is in the $5000/month office, unless the "office" is actually a house and the "lease" is actually a mortgage payment. I guess I would understand working from home, but when you have a company with only one employee what would be the purpose? Perhaps the scientific advisory board holds their brainstorming meetings there and he is social distancing from them?
And why are the Regen talks only 10 minutes while everyone else is no less than 20, and most are a half hour or more?
Strange way to do business. But what do I know - I don't own a biotech company...
-Neb
Why is it that every time this man speaks the share price tanks?
-Neb
Happy to help. After all, I know everything.
Oh wait, I was paraphrasing my wife. She said I THINK I know everything...
-Neb
He likely bought the Maserati Levante model. Far more practical and easier to enter when tipsy. Also has a bottle holder for that 30 year Glenfiddich.
Should be an interesting year coming up.
Not really sure where I stand on this company. Seems as shady as they get, and I don't think I could ever have run my businesses the way he does and succeed - let alone sleep at night...
But stranger things have happened in the world and I'm just hoping for that momentary share price jump. I believe other real research companies will eventually find some solutions to cancer, and if in some tiny way his patents contribute then hooray for him. Pretty sure kindness and helping the world are not his motivations, though.
Tick tock tick tock...

Merry Christmas to you Sid! And to everyone who reads and posts on this board! All opinions and all views.
Wealth is measured by many things. I wish them upon you all!
-Neb
Was he sober?
-Neb
My thoughts?
Hopefully sobriety. Let's start there.
-Neb
Maybe he just wants to give it a go sober this time...

Well, I must admit that viewing the "presentation" was a bit entertaining - like watching an accident...
Let it be known I am not a basher or pumper as I would not waste my time on ANY stock unless it was my own (or if I was paid...). I'm not a day trader - just a regular working stiff that dropped a few dollars on a random selection of pinkies. This is the one I have left. *Sigh*
It was fascinating to watch the "CEO" bumble and stumble unable to handle the technology or concept flow of his own creation. He appeared hungover during the presentation (I recognize the idiosyncrasies from my own experience many years ago) and seemed quite relieved once he handed the presentation over to his cohort.
His friend, who appeared to be speaking from his closet, had a better handle on the actual chemistry, but he still seemed to be digging up concepts and ideas that he found in the basement when cleaning it out after his great aunt passed away. I can see the meeting now... "Hey look at this," says Lander, " an old manilla folder with my pretend pharmaceuticals that I made for my 10th grade chemistry class! They look so real! It even has my worthless patents!". Koos replies, "Can we trade it for a bottle of tequila?". "No no no! But, we could find a middle school that puts on practice entrepreneurial programs and pretend we are a big pharmaceutical company!" (Writer's note: I used to put on plays with my sisters when I was 4 and strangely this presentation brought me right back there for some reason)
I couldn't make it all the way to the end, but perhaps when I do I will change my opinion. Not holding out a ton of hope on that one.
I sure do hope some miracle, or mistake, happens and the SP rises again so I can snatch my dollars back.
Good luck to all investors and I am going out to enjoy the first snow in the Finger Lakes!
-Neb
Strangely quiet in here...
Hmmmm....
-Neb
I hope you find something!
I enjoy reading all the exchanges on this board - you traders are outta control!!
Liking the momentum right now.
I always did enjoy the green... :P
Great day to all!!
That's not their site - that is a"yellow pages" of companies. If you click on the actual link to their site there is nothing there.
Nice try. ;)
I'm small time and not a day trader, but in to win.

False or misleading information really doesn't help.

Hello!!
No one has been here for quite some time. I thought I would break the ice and welcome anyone who might be aware of the company or knowledgeable in this industry.
I read in my local news about the RNA production company moving into the Eastman Business Park. It appears they have a process to create RNA for both biological and agricultural applications. According to their press release they are positioned to scale their operation to become the largest producer in the world.
To become public they merged with this shell - I think it was a shell...or SPAC...or something.
Anyway, it is a local company for me and I grabbed a few shares so now I am following the progress.
Hope to see some posts on this board in the near future.
Happy Fall, All!
-Neb
Pumpty Dump! My life for you!!
Sorry, Steven King's "The Stand" reference...
Yup, I'm a share holder, albeit a small one. Total gamble shot in the dark from ages ago. Been holding for years before the R/S. Just another Rochester based company I fell into. (well, not Rochester based anymore) Fun ride indeed.
Hope all are healthy and well! Happy holidays to all!! Go ACAI!!

Forgive me if I am not knowledgeable about such things, but isn't this something that should have been disclosed to shareholders? I thought a public company had to share the legal filings, etc. through a 10-K or 8-K or something K. I assume this is a legal filing of some sort. And as it seems we have not been told anything about these specific intentions.
I will review the latest updates to see how this event was addressed...unless someone already has and would like to share.
I have been a shareholder for more than 15 years and although they have backtracked a million times they have always at least mentioned their intentions as far as I remember. Perhaps shady in some cases but I was always able to understand their intended actions. This one is completely in the dark to me.
Certain things are beyond my comprehension, like changing the name of the company but not changing the sign on the building. Like buying a defunct piece of software made by someone else and claiming it to be a breakthrough that the company designed. Like gaining a multi-million dollar investor and doing nothing to take advantage of his expertise and experience. Like going from a company that is honorable, innovative and shrewd to becoming untrustworthy, deceptive, and irresponsible.
I do hope that my dismal feeling is just that - a feeling - and that they pull themselves from the wreckage.
But now we head to the pink sheets...
*sigh*
I hope everyone who celebrated Easter had a happy one!
Neb
I went to update my watch software and for some reason I ended up with a Tim Horton's coupon and a e-book on the history of curling.
Then I realized my mistake - I downloaded updates from MyCanadian...
Neb
Could someone post the update or at least a functioning link? The link above only links to itself! I can not find it on the company website either...
Sure gives ME confidence...
*sigh*

There is a take home device that most sleep specialists use today. I just used one on Friday night - we share the same potential prognosis, Dino - my doctor told me I may have sleep apnea. I too refused to stay the night at the local sleep clinic and they gave me the device. It read my O2 level with a little finger clip, my breathing with a small hose ext to my nose and mouth similar to an O2 delivery hose, and a strap around my chest to measure my breathing and sleeping orientation. It was surprisingly small and easy to handle. I was quite astounded that I kept it on all night - I usually can't handle stuff like that!! :P
I am not sure that the watch is an alternative for this device, but if it were I would MUCH rather have worn something like that. Not sure that it can do the O2 measurement and I am pretty sure it can't do the orientation aspect either, which is required for the testing (if you are on your back or your side or front when the breathing is interrupted).
The product sounds good for what it is intended - to measure alertness and send the signal to the appropriate party when alertness is compromised. Keep it simple and targeted and it will take on its own momentum. I sure hope that Torvec...er, uh, CurAegis can make it happen. I have been watching and waiting for quite some time, although my investment dollars are far fewer than most of you on this board. I am very grateful to read your conversations here and I have learned a ton from all of your experience and insight. Keep the civility and the reality maintained and we will all likely profit from the endeavor.
Good luck to all and have a great week!!
I have 2100 shares and I don't work for the company. Most of my friends and family say I am very friendly though...
Whatever list you would like to include me in is up to you.
:)
Maybe we actually have a practice run on the 24th. Casa Larga is a nice place and I'll bet if they don't have anything going on that night we could get it cheap. We could get all the hostility out then and hash out the questions. That way, we could all walk in confidently prepared for the squirming to begin...
I truly hope it is not a lynch mob. I have heard stories of the past meetings being a bit rough. Holding them to the wall is good, but not in a hostile way. If the shareholders determine that the management is totally incompetent (which I submit it is not) we can change it. But to attack those who are trying to make money for you and me and themselves seems a bit like shooting yourself in the foot.
Preparation, honesty, accountability and positive forward thinking are all required for a successful event.
-Neb
I second that idea. A list of questions to be submitted on, say, next Tuesday would be nice to gather.
I for one have many questions, but I am sure they are similar in nature to the longer term holders here so I will not suggest any right now. I am sure that as the questions get posted mine will not be unique and might actually be unnecessary as they may not take the entire historical scope into consideration. I will lurk on the side for now.
I hope others agree that this is a superb idea. Let's get some efficiency into the meeting and fill it with meat and not a bunch of side dishes. (sorry for the food analogy - I have not had breakfast yet...)
-Neb
Good Morning!
I can no longer PM, so I just wanted to say a hearty thanks for the message sent to me. I look forward to the meeting and seeing future information posted, whatever that might be - hopefully soon.
Good luck to all, and see you at the shareholder's meeting!
-Neb
Um, forgive my late entry on this issue, but does anyone know if, when, or how information about Torvec is to be disseminated here in the iBox? I thought that there was some great information or at least starting points for people to learn about the company on there.
What happened? Just because the moderator leaves we actually have to take away any least bit of positive marketing and possible investor interest? I am so confused and slightly disillusioned.
*ahem*
As was mentioned by leitrim long ago, or not so long ago, I have been only a lurker here and on the previous board(s), or a Newbie as he/she affectionately called me. I have recently grown the cohones to post and reveal my soul to the world and have joyously participated. I have made mistakes, put my foot - OK, my FEET, in my mouth, learned a ton, and found that there actually is a legitimate, seemingly honest and civil place for human discussion and all was well with Neb and the world at large. Then something happened:
I bought a subscription to iHub and discovered other boards. Not so nice on some, but some great stuff on others. The immaturity seemed to outweigh the civilized thoughts on most, but again this one was great and I thought that it was what iHub was really trying to be - a place to exchange information. Exchange information. Yes, exchange information.
Not own information.
But somehow because the moderator has left the information that was displayed to benefit future stockholders and assist current stockholders is no longer available to the public. As I said before, I am confused. I am a stockholder, although somehow considered insignificant because I am not wealthy enough to own more than a couple thousand shares, and I believe in the company and the technology we own. I have stated my positive beliefs many times - ad nauseum (sp.?) to some, in fact. But it is because of this belief that I am astounded by what has happened to the iBox.
When the biggest complaints are about the lack of proper marketing and the lack of transparency, I find it odd that ANYONE would do this to a company I assume they own and might also believe in. I do hope that someone will return the iBox to it's original state or if not then please inform me, and those who have not taken the opportunity to ask, what the actual deal is.
Thank you to all in advance.
Stunned,
-Neb
Hi Artguy,
I have not seen a deleted post in a while. I have not looked to see who our new moderator is, though...
Could you PM the link? I did not get in on time to take advantage of the information you were sharing and I am interested in industry related information as a Torvec shareholder.
Thanks!
-Neb
And some of us are grateful. Well done, Cap'm. Great stuff indeed.
-Neb
And therefore may you hold shares of the company making carpet stain remover...
Happy New Year to All!
And thanks to you especially, lowman, for all the insight and knowledge you have inadvertently given me...
And to all the posters on this board - thanks for sharing your humor and your human stories that have made me laugh, cry, and everything in between.
Peace to all.

Dread50above,
I am very grateful for what has been done here with this board. I can guarantee that my subscription to iHub will not be renewed, as the only board I really enjoyed and continue to enjoy to this day is the Torvec board. Thanks to you, Dread - and thanks Artguy, Torvecian, newspeed, Leitrim, trucker, 99Er, allnumbers, and the many others with so many opinions about this company and the players in the industry.
I must say I am very sad to see this discussion go away, as it was very educational for me. I might have been an annoying pain in the a$$ for some of you, as my perspective is my own and I am not an engineer with technical contributions. But I truly think that I will enjoy the shareholder's meeting and I will learn more there, but for now I shall feel a bit out of touch not reading the comments of such educated individuals.
I can not stand to read the drivel at the Yahoo board and I refuse to post there as it is a waste of time, and there is no other board I can think of that has the content of this caliber.
So I will see you all at the meeting, and again, thank you Dread for doing all the hard work so that I did not have to. You are greatly appreciated by many.
A safe New Year to all, and may the coming days be good ones for us all. There are far greater things in this world we live in then a stock price or even a company's success. There is magic in the trees and the sky and the water but the most magic is in human beings. And there is so much danger lurking all over this tiny planet just waiting to eliminate it. Nukes in the hands of evil, politically motivated decisions on human rights, I mean the list goes on.
So go give someone a hug and remember what this life is REALLY all about.
Peace.
-Neb
In some senses it is indeed a big deal. The big deal was that a play by play of something that should have been kept internal to those running the company was revealed and published without, perhaps, thinking it through. If anyone read the content of the material that was removed, they might agree with me that it sounded a bit too much a "what I did last summer and with who (or is it whom)" essay and not so much a corporate status report. I think it was simply another mistake made by someone in the company and it was realized.
The big deal is that they have the ability, hindsight, and confidence to reverse or alter course when things are not right, as demonstrated in the past many times. Who is to say there was some kind of phone call or request by the suitors of our technology to take that portion off? Who is to say it was not the author herself who thought it was not something to be published at this time? Why could it not be something totally unrelated? And what if it was!?!? Who actually knows other than those who made the decision?
Right. None of us. So why must we speculate on such an item? Why can we not look at the facts we have and the history we own?
It was the right move to take that part out of the public information displayed on the internet for marketing and information purposes, as it did sound a bit out of character with the rest of the CEO Update(s), which I think can be somewhat amateur or kinda non-corporate at times. Imagine a small outfit looking for some technology and even though a small part of our technology could be a comfortable fit they may look elsewhere after reading about the nearly completed and active negotiations with very large companies with whom (or is it who?) they could not compete. It is just a small thing in the grand scope but it could take even a small opportunity off the table without even trying to.
Just a smart move to correct something that should not have happened in the first place. I must say that my only complaint about our company so far is that the marketing efforts have not been addressed yet, or at least not in any visible results driven way that I can see from my non-management perspective, and they are very important at this time in our life cycle. I respect and believe in the company's leaders, so I trust there will be an appropriate effort at the appropriate time.
And maybe it is already going on in a way I don't understand, as this industry continues to surprise me. And maybe this correction is one more step toward that focus on outward image and market buyer appeal.
-Neb
Thank you for this post, Artguy. I could not have said it better.
I am still confused as to what the negativity and insulting is all about. I had lurked and then posted here and there (another board) for quite some time, and it still seems odd that anyone would want to play these games in such a company. Here we have a very high end engineering company with a pretty intense history and IP portfolio and some just want to go back to their days of being rejected on the playground. It is just odd to me.
If there are issues with the way the company is run, be a part of the solution and don't stand on the sidelines and point and laugh. Find a way to help and solve the problem, if it is a problem. And if you can't do that, then simply walk away. It is your money at stake...or, um, is it...?
I look forward to the shareholders meeting and I sure do hope everyone there has the class to reveal their "behind the windshield names" and debate like humans with fact and emotion properly balanced in the vein of those who view their OWN brains as IP!
(And just so there are no acronym confusions, that's Intellectual Property - not Internet Protocol or the Iberian Peninsula...)
-Neb
I find it interesting that in a flurry of reconstruction and hole plugging he touts the company as American to the workers and then brings in a guy who is going to reduce supply costs by going to the Asian markets instead of the domestic markets.
"Another ex-Home Depot executive, John Campi, is working in purchasing. Chrysler purchases about $40 billion in parts and materials a year, almost all of it from suppliers in North America. Mr. Campi has pushed to buy more parts from Asia, people familiar with the matter said, including car and truck batteries from India. Chrysler executives warned that the batteries are difficult to ship and apt to lose their charge in transport, but he is pushing ahead with the effort, these people said."
-Neb
Oh, great, thanks a bunch...
If I bring a six of cola and one of root beer could I count on a quarter hike or so in price?
I second that comment. Thanks, Dread for all you have done to help me educate myself and to allow me to enjoy the intellectual exchange.
To all the Torvec holders have a safe and wonderful holiday and an exciting New Year's celebration and I look forward to meeting you all at the shareholder's meeting in January.
-Neb
OK Leitrim, I will not answer your question but I would love to make some comments...
*biting my lip*
;)
The following is not a response to you, as I agree with your assessment. These are just the comments I have been wanting to make as I have been lurking here for the past few days...
I got to see our new location this week. It was cleaner and neater than I had expected it to be based on that address. I did not go in to meet anyone, as I was coming back to work from my lunch break (already late, but I had to go see) but I did drive very slowly around the outside to check it out. I got adventurous in my Civic and drove to the back to see where the testing and proving grounds were and I drove that little hunk o metal up some kind of road gravel dump that might have been the space they were referring to. The next time I am up there I will give a tug on the office door. Very nice indeed.
I have not wavered in my belief in the intent of this company. I still feel with certainty that slow and steady wins the race and there is no reason to push the progress of this company any faster than it is going with it's own momentum and direction. Far too often we judge another's decisions with the knowledge of only a tiny bit of the facts surrounding our perceived interpretation. The things I read sounded like excellent milestones and to me it was very positive news. I do not understand why there could be such negativity in this announcement. No, it is not a headline stating "LMN announces one for one swap" or anything like that, it is a headline that says, "TOVC creates yet another opportunity in both the global and domestic marketplace". That ain’t bad news to me.
Why is it that we cannot recognize people for their achievements and encourage continued success? I mean, would it hurt anyone to pay a compliment and consequently engage in building one of the few neglected components of any business - the human factor?
Neb's definition of business is: The interaction of two people during the process of exchange of goods, services or ideas.
And you can stop at word #5, if you are in a hurry.
A Story:
So I am at the intersection of Culver and Main and I am waiting to turn left to go westbound on Main and I am behind four cars and the light is red. When the light turned green, the first car had the space to go as not one car was driving southbound on Culver through the intersection that I could see. The second car was not as lucky and a car was in their view as it was coming over the rise toward them. (This literally happened tonight, by the way, as in less than an hour ago) So the second car sat there in the intersection waiting to turn. The third car in line was impatient and honked its horn.
The driver was impatient and wanted to force another driver, who was fully in control of their own individual situation, to make a move that would have put them in danger. I immediately cursed the driver ahead of me for beeping at the driver ahead of them because I feel it is a rude, pushy and generally nasty thing to do in just about any case. But then I looked myself and I could not see a car coming at all, since there was someone in the southbound left turn lane and my view was blocked to the oncoming southbound traffic as they come up over a rise and come into view quite close to the actual intersection. So I paused a minute and thought that perhaps the driver ahead of me could not see the car coming either and just made the assumption that the driver at the light was not paying attention or was just being slow and that is the actual reason why he honked the horn (I still cursed him as it is still a rude thing to do...).
So his perception was far different from the reality and had the first driver listened to the horn and tried to go ahead to satisfy the guy behind him he may very well have crashed.
The point I am so tritely yet truly illustrating is that we need to either have trust and faith in what those who are making the decisions for our company are doing, or simply leave the room. Sell your shares if you do not believe, or be a positive influence on the collective that has everything to gain from a broad marketing effort.
I mean, after all, being smart does not preclude being kind. The science is sound, the concepts are protected, and the market is huge. Let's give these guys some encouragement and thanks for at least attempting to make ME money by working hard and staying to the path that THEY determine to be the correct course of action in the long run.
Oh, and the next time I do go to the new building, I will be putting in an order for a CVT to be retrofitted into my Honda. I will pay them whatever it costs, and I will show it to everyone I meet. I agree with Leitrim that the parking lot should be full of seekers with the right marketing efforts. I trust they will fix any weaknesses in the marketing department as soon as they can, if it is even needed.
Yeah, sometimes it is nice to be a part of a solution rather than stand on the sidelines and criticize.
I sure hope they have one that will match my interior…
-Neb
Hold on...which one is it...not liquefy...um...
Is there a phone number on this KitchenAid? Maybe on the bottom? Aw, crap - I tipped it over looking for the number and you fell out, Torvecian. I am so sorry. Perhaps we can reassemble you from the various parts on the floor here. Stand by...
OK, I just scooped you up and put most of you back in the machine.
*wiping the puddle with a paper towel*
Gotta set it high for just a second so as not to reveal my mishap. There. Now, back to a nice gentle "mix".
Maybe allnumbers can give me the tour of the new facility which I STILL have not gotten to see yet. I know he has been there and talked with the Gleasmans about it. (I am assuming gender here, allnumbers may very well be female. I suspect I will answer that question for myself at the shareholders meeting.)
-Neb
So maybe we turn you down to a gentle "mix" setting...
-Neb
Right on, 99ER!
