The following is not a response to you, as I agree with your assessment. These are just the comments I have been wanting to make as I have been lurking here for the past few days...

I got to see our new location this week. It was cleaner and neater than I had expected it to be based on that address. I did not go in to meet anyone, as I was coming back to work from my lunch break (already late, but I had to go see) but I did drive very slowly around the outside to check it out. I got adventurous in my Civic and drove to the back to see where the testing and proving grounds were and I drove that little hunk o metal up some kind of road gravel dump that might have been the space they were referring to. The next time I am up there I will give a tug on the office door. Very nice indeed.

I have not wavered in my belief in the intent of this company. I still feel with certainty that slow and steady wins the race and there is no reason to push the progress of this company any faster than it is going with it's own momentum and direction. Far too often we judge another's decisions with the knowledge of only a tiny bit of the facts surrounding our perceived interpretation. The things I read sounded like excellent milestones and to me it was very positive news. I do not understand why there could be such negativity in this announcement. No, it is not a headline stating "LMN announces one for one swap" or anything like that, it is a headline that says, "TOVC creates yet another opportunity in both the global and domestic marketplace". That ain’t bad news to me.

Why is it that we cannot recognize people for their achievements and encourage continued success? I mean, would it hurt anyone to pay a compliment and consequently engage in building one of the few neglected components of any business - the human factor?

Neb's definition of business is: The interaction of two people during the process of exchange of goods, services or ideas.

And you can stop at word #5, if you are in a hurry.

A Story:
So I am at the intersection of Culver and Main and I am waiting to turn left to go westbound on Main and I am behind four cars and the light is red. When the light turned green, the first car had the space to go as not one car was driving southbound on Culver through the intersection that I could see. The second car was not as lucky and a car was in their view as it was coming over the rise toward them. (This literally happened tonight, by the way, as in less than an hour ago) So the second car sat there in the intersection waiting to turn. The third car in line was impatient and honked its horn.
The driver was impatient and wanted to force another driver, who was fully in control of their own individual situation, to make a move that would have put them in danger. I immediately cursed the driver ahead of me for beeping at the driver ahead of them because I feel it is a rude, pushy and generally nasty thing to do in just about any case. But then I looked myself and I could not see a car coming at all, since there was someone in the southbound left turn lane and my view was blocked to the oncoming southbound traffic as they come up over a rise and come into view quite close to the actual intersection. So I paused a minute and thought that perhaps the driver ahead of me could not see the car coming either and just made the assumption that the driver at the light was not paying attention or was just being slow and that is the actual reason why he honked the horn (I still cursed him as it is still a rude thing to do...).
So his perception was far different from the reality and had the first driver listened to the horn and tried to go ahead to satisfy the guy behind him he may very well have crashed.
The point I am so tritely yet truly illustrating is that we need to either have trust and faith in what those who are making the decisions for our company are doing, or simply leave the room. Sell your shares if you do not believe, or be a positive influence on the collective that has everything to gain from a broad marketing effort.

I mean, after all, being smart does not preclude being kind. The science is sound, the concepts are protected, and the market is huge. Let's give these guys some encouragement and thanks for at least attempting to make ME money by working hard and staying to the path that THEY determine to be the correct course of action in the long run.

Oh, and the next time I do go to the new building, I will be putting in an order for a CVT to be retrofitted into my Honda. I will pay them whatever it costs, and I will show it to everyone I meet. I agree with Leitrim that the parking lot should be full of seekers with the right marketing efforts. I trust they will fix any weaknesses in the marketing department as soon as they can, if it is even needed.

Yeah, sometimes it is nice to be a part of a solution rather than stand on the sidelines and criticize.

I sure hope they have one that will match my interior…
