There is a take home device that most sleep specialists use today. I just used one on Friday night - we share the same potential prognosis, Dino - my doctor told me I may have sleep apnea. I too refused to stay the night at the local sleep clinic and they gave me the device. It read my O2 level with a little finger clip, my breathing with a small hose ext to my nose and mouth similar to an O2 delivery hose, and a strap around my chest to measure my breathing and sleeping orientation. It was surprisingly small and easy to handle. I was quite astounded that I kept it on all night - I usually can't handle stuff like that!! :P

I am not sure that the watch is an alternative for this device, but if it were I would MUCH rather have worn something like that. Not sure that it can do the O2 measurement and I am pretty sure it can't do the orientation aspect either, which is required for the testing (if you are on your back or your side or front when the breathing is interrupted).

The product sounds good for what it is intended - to measure alertness and send the signal to the appropriate party when alertness is compromised. Keep it simple and targeted and it will take on its own momentum. I sure hope that Torvec...er, uh, CurAegis can make it happen. I have been watching and waiting for quite some time, although my investment dollars are far fewer than most of you on this board. I am very grateful to read your conversations here and I have learned a ton from all of your experience and insight. Keep the civility and the reality maintained and we will all likely profit from the endeavor.

Good luck to all and have a great week!!
