Mr Szilard, your response on #2282 is very tetchy, what could be troubling you? I take great offense at your derogatory remarks as i am a cat-man and the wife is a cat lady(we run a small scale shelter for homeless cats). Could it be that you are beginning to see the truth and you don't like it one bit?
Mr Bystander, i am going to give you a plain English interpretation of entropy and hopefully you will understand the atrocious misuse of this term. Energy can be converted from one form to another, examples being electrical to mechanical(motors), mechanical to electrical(generators), heat to mechanical(engines), electrical to heat(heaters). In most of these conversions a high degree of efficiency can be achieved with careful engineering but there is one exception: heat can never be completely converted to one of the other forms and heat is considered to be inferior to other forms of energy. Entropy gives us a measure of that part of heat energy which cannot be converted and is lost, generally to the environment. This was the original application of entropy and it's scope has been greatly expanded since then but the concept is basically the same. An increase in entropy is to be avoided as it implies loss and in engineering many ideal processes are modeled as "isentropic" which means no change in entropy throughout the process. One certainly cannot use entropy to achieve some desired outcome. Using language like that falls into the category of "not even wrong".
"What is the NBBO, bid/ask........" I have no idea, i assume it is some financial concept.
I don't know if i can find the original stuff where his flagrant misuse of scientific terms resides as it was nearly six years ago. If i can find the original claims there will be a mother lode of such nonscience. I will see if i can find it, it's got to be filed under fiction.
Mr Curious Bystander, i would have to look at his exact wording to give you any sort of answer on that. If i can find it i will make a comment. The "slingshot" is a gravitational effect with no application in electromagnetics. Thermodynamics can be a difficult subject unless one has an aptitude for science but in simple English it says the following: one can never get more out of a system than one puts in and secondly one can never get the full amount out that one puts in as there will always be losses to some extent.
I can't speak for Richard H2 but i have nothing against ASTRA. Holcomb is a different matter as the nonsense he produces is an affront to science and it is the reason i am here. Holcomb joins a long list of hucksters who have promised the impossible like free energy, perpetual motion, cars that run on water etc, etc and a host of other "free lunch" schemes with the intention of fraud. Everything else ASTRA does is real world tech which may or may not work out, as is the case with any business, but why they have got involved with a charlatan like Holcomb is a mystery and to me deeply troubling.
Not so fast Mr Szilard. Inertia is an important parameter to be considered when generating systems have to deal with transient load steps as you quite correctly stated. This is a short lived effect which uses some of the stored energy in the rotating machinery to help supply the load and this is a very important point as Danzik says his doohickey produces xlbs amount of "inertia power". This is just plain silly as lbs are the wrong units for rotational inertia and what use is something that is only momentary when continuous power is required? However in science precise use of language is important and please note "inertia in power systems" is quite different from "inertia power", the latter is meaningless. "Point of entropy" is actually meaningless despite what you have found: one can have points of maximum entropy or minimum entropy but without the added adjective it tells us nothing. For example if one had a Ferrari that could do 180mph one would not say it had a "point of speed " of 180mph, one would say it had a "point of maximum speed" of 180mph. I am very familiar with the laws of thermodynamics and it is those very laws that say Danzik's ideas are nonsense.
The "technology" is equally bad. Misconcepts such as "inertia power" and "point of entropy" are meaningless word salad. Also the "slingshot" effect has no application whatsoever in electromagnetics. All their waffle refers to "noted engineer" Danzik!!, no engineer would misuse scientific terms in such a manner.
Meanwhile i am still waiting for magnetic propulsion "soon to be released". I have lost track of how long this has been up. I thought i had seen a magnet "engine" ~6 years ago or was i dreaming? Ah yes, that's it, i must have been dreaming.
My interest is physics and protecting the truth about the laws of physics. Other criteria such as stock price and past court cases are not really matters of great concern to me although i may make occasional comments. I did a quick search on "judge Kornreich" and i saw nothing that would be damaging. I would reckon we all have "skeletons the cupboard" if the search is deep enough.
We may argue like "cats and dogs" at times but i would hate to see any of the posters come to harm. If you happen to be in Florida, in the danger area, please take care and i hope all survive this dreadful weather event. And all the other posters, on either side, please stay safe.
That's fine by me , Mr Szilard, as anybody with a modicum of scientific understanding could see what Danzik comes out with is not science but word salad misusing scientific terms.
Very quiet around here lately, i wonder has "the penny finally dropped"?
Mr Szilard, a first year engineering student could see through the false claims quantum propagates. As such i do not believe your statement that an engineer accompanied you and invested. Entirely incredible.
Forget it, i constantly screw up things. I am not quite sure what the rest of your post is about but if you are in line for Milton please follow all safety messages and stay safe.
No problem and thank you for your courteous response.
I think i know what is causing the disparity. I was quoting a -99.43% figure for all time, that is from the beginning. This was the figure quoted yesterday with a google search for asre stock. Just to be clear i have never bought any stock in any business.
When something, anything, has lost 99.43% of it's original value then all that is left is 0.57%. Glad to see you recognise Holcomb for what it is.
I will repeat again that it is the Holcomb nonsense that got my attention and motivated me to make these posts. As regards ASTRA, i have no interest directly other than why a legitimate business would involve itself with a goon like Holcomb. If ASTRA were to ditch Holcomb, i would be gone from this forum but i would maintain my stance against Holcomb.
Five minutes ago i clicked on a webpage that brought me to this forum back around 15/3 and i noticed the believers in Holcomb were saying UL certification was being carried out. Here we are 6months later with no certification. What do you say now?
Please explain how you have come to the conclusion that my maths are in error. The figure freely available for asre stock shows that it is -99.43% of the of the original.
Hi Mr Dorick, you think ~12months? I don't know, nearly 6years ago all who had a basic grasp of physics were gobsmacked at the "inductance energy earth engine " claims, which of course were utterly ridiculous. Everyone assumed a rapid demise but it reappeared several years later as the "photon engine", equally preposterous and he is still at it. He is a slippery dude, as is obvious from his legal history and it is hard to predict what may happen. I would never have believed the magnet contraption from nearly 6years ago would still be here in some form today.
Indeed, Richard h2, i agree with all you have said but i have a few comments to add. The lack of regulatory approval for Holcomb is actually immaterial as none of it works as claimed, ie even with UL accreditation it is still going nowhere. I would have more chance of pole vaulting over the Sears tower than any of Holcomb's gizmos doing what is claimed. As regards the rest of ASTRA projects, they are real world concepts as opposed to Holcomb's pipe dreams and they may or may not work out- i have no interest in these matters as none of them are in conflict with the laws of physics. My only motivation in posting here is to denounce that which is utterly impossible due to being in contravention of the most secure of all physical laws.
Mr Curious Bystander, i'll bet you a "Dorick Doohickey" that there will only be token installations, these with the sole purpose of ensnaring further investors.
Yep, they all seem to be fake apart from Aesir, whose web page is devoid of information.
As i have said previously finance is not where my abilities lie but i cannot help notice that ASRE stock is now valued at 0.57% of it's original quotation. While not every investor would have bought in at the original price there is no avoiding the conclusion that it is not doing well. The stock is and has been oscillating around a very low figure and the slight increase noted on the 4/10 is really negligible.
Quite correct, Mr Curious Bystander, it would take a miracle/divine intervention for Danzik's ideas to work. Personally i don't believe in miracles, but that is me and i don't ask anyone to accept my ideas. I believe in science.
Curious Bystander with ref to #2221, there can be no question that it is a scam. If you accept (1) magnets are not a source of energy, (2) the energy obtainable from indoor photovoltaics is negligible, both of which can be assured by a professional, then Danzik's stuff is utterly worthless. I reckon he will just try to milk it for as long as possible before moving on to his next "invention", maybe the Danzik turboencabulator or the Danzik discombobulator. Just look at his history, does not inspire confidence.
Indeed i blundered. Thank you, Mr Dorick for the correction and apologies to MJ16 for my error.
Telling the truth is not bashing. The laws of physics rule out all "free lunch" hoaxes, such as Holcomb's as well as many others.
The way things work is, i believe, as follows: Quantum does some installations which provide no benefit but Quantum absorbs the losses and in the process produce a "happy customer". Happy customers are used to encourage investors whose money can be used to perpetuate the process. A Ponzi scheme of sorts.
Indeed Mr Dorick, i had intended to make a similar comment but there was so much other nonsense to address that i forgot. Lithography is primarily a printing process and as regards "deposition", all semiconductors are manufactured by vapour/gas deposition on the substrate. So nothing new here. Again i must point out the lies being propagated in the website you alluded to: a maximum of 4% can be recovered with all surfaces covered in panels, NOT 50%. Can you imagine the difficulties of having the floor covered in photovoltaics?
I am very dubious of your statements, Mr Szilard. No half competent engineer would accept the waffle that Danzik comes out with. There are some things which are inherently impossible, regardless of technology. An example is: can you levitate by pulling hard on your shoelaces? Of course you cannot. Danzik's claims, framed in atrocious misuse of scientific terms, fall into the category of "inherently impossible". First we had the "earth engine", a stand alone generator which failed to function and replaced by the "photon engine" and now we have "heat receivers", whatever that is meant to mean. What's next? The only way to produce energy on site is (1) a hydrocarbon burning engine, (2) a wind turbine or (3) exterior solar cells. You can call them direct energy, autonomous energy or any thing else you want but they are the ONLY way to do it.
Holcomb simply cannot be doing well as his ideas are in contravention of known physical laws.
Mr Szilard, i am not claiming to be dispensing wisdom. I am simply stating the basic laws of the physics involved in energy analysis. But hey, don't listen to a word i say, for all you know about me i could be a total nutjob: seek a professional fully independent appraisal of what Danzik is spouting and you will be in for a major shock.
If true, this is bad news. Entirely predictable, unfortunately.
A small room 5mx 4m by 2m in height illuminated by four 11.5w led sources. In this room 76 square metres of panels would return a maximum of 2watts. Not remotely feasible.
Mr Dorick, an excellent synopsis, thank you. Mr Szilard ask me any technical question you may want answered. I can't claim to answer everything but i will try my best. There is , however no point in asking me about the terms that Danzik uses as they are basically mumbo-jumbo word salad.
Personally i don't believe a word of what Mr Szilard is saying as there is negligible energy that can be harvested indoors. "Thermal receiver" is more of the word salad that Danzik utters.
Nonsense, Mr Szilard. 4% is the absolute max return with ALL floors, walls and ceiling covered with panels and miles of cabling. Have you sought the opinion of a professional engineer/physicist or do you simply accept all that Danzik dishes out?
