I guess I’m not as smart and savvy as others on this board. I was waiting for AA & BTD for this “wonder drug” A2-73, which has not happened. I was thinking a 10B MC would have been possible if this happened or it was approved for ALZ treatment, so I was “holding on” for that possibility.
Could, woulda, shoulda…..but I don’t get excited by a few cents here or there. I am waiting for the day this opens up 10+ bucks higher than the previous close—that would get me excited.
Till then…..
Oh well, George, maybe tomorrow!
Maybe not to you, but it matters a lot to me.
Correction: you assume that the stock is being manipulated. If/When the company submits their application to the EMA and the stock is still languishing, then I might see your viewpoint. Until then, all of these conspiracy theories just seem to be a convenient excuse for management’s poor execution and communication.
As to your other accusation, go back and read Steady’s comment again. I’ve been here for 9 years—sorry if I don’t get excited about 8% upward moves when the stock is down 75% from its high. I’m just keeping it real.
You are spot on!! Missling’s priorities seem skewed to self preservation, rather than getting an approved drug to market in a timely manner. This was so evident by that Rett data release on Jan 2nd, right after he qualified for his year end bonus.
I’d prefer if they put Missling out to pasture, as I think he is an albatross to shareholder value.
I’d take a close north of $7 as a positive, but it’s touch and go right now.
Oh damn, only down 20+ bucks from 3 years ago.
Your arrogance is ignorance.
This POS always sells off after 3 pm. It never seems to close at its HOD.
Regarding the shelf offering, Missling was careful in his answer that it was not for any “immediate” cash need, but rather for a potential need in the future (i.e. EMA approval requiring establishing manufacturing and marketing channels overseas). Regarding the FDA, Missling stated that their energy and focus presently is with the EMA submission. He mentioned that once the EMA is done, most of that work is applicable to the FDA filing.
George:
You must grade CCs on a very generous curve. It sounds like you’d give it an A+ and my grade is a C+.
I feel that Tom Bishop is the voice of this message board. He asked Missling directly about the stock shelf offering, as well as what are the future plans for an FDA filing.
Thank you, Tom, for asking those questions!
Same old nothing—listening to Tom Bishop ask Missling unscripted questions is worth the 5 minutes. Soumit Roy is nothing but a Missling shill who asks pre-scripted questions.
Yes, that is my impression as well. Everything is supposedly going to happen in the 2nd half—if at all. The SP reflects this lack of urgency.
SOS
Expect nothing and you probably won’t be disappointed.
You do bring up a good point—owning this stock for 9 years should have me questioning my cerebral capacity and functioning.
Yes, SAVA’s is up in one day the entire MC of Anavex. It is certainly infuriating being a shareholder of this company. When was the last time this stock was up a buck in one trading day? Never seems to happen.
Houston, we have a problem.
I HOPE YOU ARE AS EXCITED AS WE ARE!!!
It didn’t even take until the end of the trading day for your prediction to be true.
SAVA up 6 bucks, AVXL up 6 cents.
They are definitely getting the market’s attention, which is something Missling & Co. never seem to do in a positive way.
Where have you been the last 3 YEARS—perhaps under a rock?
It looks like Cassava has overcome its bad press from July, and now has a MC 3x that of Anavex. It seems like ABA (Anyone But Anavex) benefits in the CNS space—we’re the ugly duckling.
I’m disappointed in MCD as well. Big Macs are selling for $10 in some locations—that’s crazy!!
After 9+ years, I’m beginning to think he is a hopeless scatterbrain.
You keep thinking this way, and I do hope you may be right. However, I have some healthy skepticism that these are his true intentions.
Bottom lime: you don’t tell investors on CCs repeatedly that you have 4 years of cash runway and then pull this stunt.
Now you know the main reason why we are a $6 stock. It’s not because of the boogeyman, cabal, or corrupt FDA. The fault lies mainly with our CEO—and his poor decision-making.
Look at it this way: when the federal government prints more money, the value of money declines.
The same is true for shares of a company’s stock.
Missling said he was “not happy” about the SP at the last CC. So what does this “financial genius” do? As soon as the SP begins to recover, he files a stock shelf registration. All this guy seems adept at is raising money from sketchy sources, which could imply that he knows the likelihood of approval and revenue generation is still a long shot. His actions are not instilling confidence, as evidenced by today’s SP shaving.
Well done, Christopher!
Looks like another wonderful day to be an Anavex shareholder.
Thanks, Christopher!
I totally agree. This PR seems like another bullet point to list during the next CC. Still waiting for full PDD results, ALZ data published in a reputable, peer-reviewed science journal, and the yet undisclosed CNS rare disease condition.
SOS from Missling.
When I bought my shares in 2015, I did NOT think that 9 years later we’d still not have filed an NDA, not released full PDD & ALZ data, revealed the undisclosed CNS condition, etc. There was also discussion of AA or BTD which of course never materialized as well.
I would not have tied up my money for the last 9 years (opportunity cost) if I had known how slowly this would proceed. I’m pretty sure that I’m far from the only one who feels this way.
While I do weigh in on what Investor writes, I am an individual investor who believes in listening to all sides of an argument.
I came on board as a shareholder in July 2015, purchasing the majority of my pre-reverse split shares between 75 and 90 cents.
I abhor unfounded hype and hysteria, and much prefer level-headed debate on both the long and short side.
I hope we’ve got the goods here, but hope only goes so far.
Short term gain? Is 9 years a short term horizon in your estimation?
Your type is never wrong—you must have to win every argument that you have with others.
Put another way, if you lose $25, but gain $3, are you not still down $22?
Think about it and let me know if my math is wrong.
Really?
Did you happen to notice how much AVXL is up in a week?
Yes, but I also happen to notice how much it’s down from it’s all-time high. Or, does that not matter?
Another anticlimactic trading day for Anavex leading into this weekend’s AAIC conference. Once again, so much anticipation leading into this weekend, only to have it flatline with today’s SP inaction.
I was hopeful it might be different this time, but this company has a way of falling short on expectations and delivering disappointment.
It has been nearly 2 months since a PR of any significance has been released. This is Missling’s usual MO.
Here goes my technical analysis: the closing price of $6.48 represents the lower channel of the band that extended through to $6.73. $6.73 represents the resistance zone, as this price has been tested, retested, and retreated. Bollinger bands and stochastic modeling indicate the price could go higher, but it certainly could go lower as well. The key to watch for is if the color is green, the price is higher, which then means it could go lower or remain unchanged, as traders generally want to make money. Look for the stock to go up or down, but it might also remain unchanged if buyers lack conviction. It’s too hard to call right now, so I’ll get back to you tomorrow at 4:30 to let you know what already happened.
Suggestion: Go to the beach and count the waves lapping the shoreline. This analysis is pure, unadulterated crap.
