Been holding all my shares. Waiting for some hint of a turn-around for NEOM. Not sure if this is the start of things going positive, but I did take opportunity to double my NEOM shares this morning after the news. Hoping for a couple more press releases coming during the show.

As a hang glider pilot, I find the discussion interesting. Highest I have flown is 9,000 ft, but there are pilots that go quite a bit higher... sometimes on purpose and sometimes against the will. Maybe you heard about recent Event where a Paraglider pilot got sucked up by a Cumulo-Nimbus to a record 32,612 and survived. Quite a story of survival.

Engine:
a machine for converting any of various forms of energy into mechanical force and motion;
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An engine is something that produces an effect from a given input. The origin of engineering was the working of engines. There is an overlap in English between two meanings of the word "engineer": 'those who operate engines' and 'those who design and construct new items'.
Usage of the term
In original usage, an engine was any sort of mechanical device. The term "gin" in cotton gin is a short form of this usage. Practically every device from the industrial revolution was referred to as an engine, and this is where the steam engine gained its name. This form of the term has recently come into use once again in computer science, where terms like "search engine", "3-D graphics game engine", "rendering engine" and "text-to-speech engine" are common. The earliest mechanical computing device was called the difference engine; Military devices such as catapults are referred to as siege engines.
In more recent usage, the term is typically used to describe devices that perform mechanical work, follow-ons to the original steam engine. In most cases the work is supplied by exerting a torque, which is used to operate other machinery, generate electricity, pump water or compress gas.
In the context of propulsion systems, an air breathing engine is one that uses atmospheric air to oxidise the fuel carried, rather than carrying an oxidiser, as in a rocket. Theoretically, this should result in a better specific impulse than for rocket engines.

Reminds me of an incedent a couple years ago. My buddy and I are out riding our mountain bikes on the Arkansas Trails. My cell phone goes off, and when I stop to answer, he says... "that's why I will never own one of those"..... I answere the phone.... It is my son calling from Iraq. Just letting me know he is doing fine. I smile and say... That is why I never go anywhere without my phone!

Not a prediction... but I have tickets for 07/07/07. Big Lucky Seven Day, so going to see my nephew get married in Vegas, and play a little Texas Holdem. Would be a great time for NEOM to celebrate making it back to Ten Cents. Actually, not being negative here. Just a little dark humor. I took opportunity to buy some more Neom today at 1/3 the price I have ever bought before. Good luck to all the NEOM sharholders.

Funny you should ask. Go to www.shockcode.com. Pretty scary looking graphic. Appears to be spanish. Maybe this is what Tobin is talking about. LOL

Not to distract from the ASM, but I did not see a whole lot of discussion about the Elle News. Pardon me if this question has already been presented as I am pressed for time right now and did not have time to read all the poste the past two days.
Concerning Elle... the PR states that a photo of any advertisement in the Magazine will take you to a location. I am not a reader of Elle, but I presume it probably has a lot of ads. Would this PR mean that each of the various companies that are displaying ads in Elle have signed a licensing agreement with Neomedia? If so, this is really quite the deal. Very exciting...

tcr or anybody. I have often seen much debate about Gap-ups and the eventaul retrace to refill in most cases. I understand that on a very surface level. But when you speak of gap downs (I can see those), what are the dynamics in play as far as MM's in how they play in regards to gap downs. I am not sure I see the importance of a gap down and whether a gap down has any more importance than just a gradual bleed. Are they often "filled" in a similar manner to Gap ups?
MenaMike
A fast learner.... although I must ask... did I see a dangling participle?
MenaMike
Maybe we will fill the gap this morning. I am hoping to buy some more at that point. Question I have is there only one gap or is there two to be filled.

Dr. Bill:
Considering the CMS issuing of a draft coverage policy allowing for broad coverage for Microvolt T-Wave Alternans Testing (MTWA) in individuals at risk of sudden cardiac death, will this indeed have an impact on policies as I find stated by heathcare plan providers such at The Regence Group, http://www.regence.com/trgmedpol/medicine/med88.html
Medicine Section - T-Wave Alternans
Topic: T-Wave Alternans Date of Origin: 02/2001
Section: Medicine Policy No: 88
Approved Date: 11/01/2005
Effective Date: 11/01/2005
Next Review Date: 11/2006
"For patients who would not otherwise be eligible for ICD placement, the TEC Assessment noted T-wave alternans would be used for its positive predictive value to select patients who might be at increased risk of VTE and possibly benefit from an ICD. The most important clinical endpoint in determining the clinical effectiveness of ICD therapy is all-cause mortality rather than VTE alone. Certainly, ICDs are effective by reducing mortality due to VTE. However, it is the balance of VTE-related sudden cardiac death and other causes of mortality that determines the effectiveness of ICD therapy, and this balance varies by population. In 9 studies that reported positive predictive value (PPV) for T-wave alternans in the TEC Assessment, positive predictive value ranged from 7% to 67%, and the likelihood ratios for a positive result generally ranged from 1.4 to 3.6 with one exception at 6.3. Positive predictive values vary widely, somewhat influenced by differences in population baseline risk, but the relatively low positive likelihood ratios also suggest that T-wave alternans is not a very strong predictor of VTE. However, even if reliable prediction of VTE were possible with T-wave alternans, this would still not address the question of effect of subsequent ICD therapy on total mortality, considering the balance of sudden cardiac death with other causes of mortality.
In conclusion, the TEC Assessment found the evidence is insufficient to determine whether the use of T-wave alternans improves net health outcome or whether it is as beneficial as any established alternatives. Therefore, the use of T-wave alternans testing for risk stratifying patients being considered for implantable cardioverter defibrillator therapy for primary prevention of sudden death did not meet the TEC criteria.
The 2004 practice guidelines for the management of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction from the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association addresses noninvasive assessment of risk of ventricular arrhythmias in these patients. Noninvasive measures include T-wave alternans in addition to signal-averaged ECG, 24-hour ambulatory EKG monitoring, heart rate variability, and T-wave variability. In the discussion concerning these tests the guidelines state the following:
“The clinical applicability of these tests to the post-STEMI patient is in a state of evolution. Although the negative predictive value of most of these tests is high (generally greater than 90%), the positive predictive value is unacceptably low (less than 30%). Whereas the positive predictive value of noninvasive testing for future arrhythmic events can be modestly increased by combining several test results, the therapeutic implications of positive findings are unclear. Insufficient data are available to indicate whether general therapies, such as beta-adrenoceptor blockade, ACE inhibition, and revascularization procedures, or specific interventions such as amiodarone or an ICD, targeted toward high-risk patients identified by a combination of noninvasive tests after MI can more favorably impact mortality.”
“Finally it is difficult to justify the costs of the routine use of these procedures in the absence of demonstrated clinical benefits.”

What do you mean by searches have to be set up?
Mena Mike
Sure... if you dig deep enough you find it. Page 7. Not a good ranking.
MenaMike
Neom coined the term "mobile marketing supercompany", thus there is a good chance that the only place on the Internet that that search group of words would be found would be in the Neom Press releases. What value is that. Not much. I doubt that very anyone would even come up with the idea of putting together those three words as search criteria. Hmmmm... I am looking for a company to provide Mobile Marketing Services. Don't want a small company. Would like a "Big" Company, indeed a "Super Big Company". A Mobile Marketing Supercompany! That is not the way anyone would search. Try this "mobile marketing super company" Oops... Makes all the difference in the world.
Search Engine Placement is important.
MenaMike
As a web master, I am surprised after looking at the scripting of Neomedia's web site index page at www.neom.com, to find that the Meta Tags are very poorly designed and are even missing some important components. IMHO
Typically there are 3 main Meta Tags that a web page should be tending to in order to assure that they achieve maximum search engine position. These Meta Tags are typically found at the very top of the scripting after the Head Tag. You should see
a "Title" Tag, a "Description" Tag and a "Keyword" Tag. Each of these would then have the appropriate information to inform the search engine spiders as to what the site pertains to. Without these, the search engine will be at a loss in determining what the web site is about and thus the ranking will suffer.
You can view most web sites HTML scripting by simply clicking on the "View Source" in your Internet Explorer. Click "View" from the menu at top and the select "Source". Every page of a web site should have properly constructed Meta Tags that correspond with the text content on the particular page.
Here is an example of good meta tags. Go to http://www.adverblog.com/archives/cat_mobile_marketing.htm which I found in good position in Google with the search terms of Mobile Marketing as PeeVeeCee pointed out. View the source and you will see the following Meta Tags at work.
<title>Adverblog: Mobile marketing Archives</title>
<meta name="keywords" content="advertising, online advertising, interactive marketing, print advertising, online campaigns, mobile marketing, advergames, viral marketing, new media, blogs">
<meta name="description" content="Adverblog: advertising, interactive marketing and viral ideas">
These tags as well as the word content on the corresponding page is a significant component of what a search engine spider will use to determine what a web site is about so that it can be properly ranked.
Now take a look at Neomedia's Meta Tags.
Go to www.neom.com and selct View then Source.
The only Meta Tag found is the Title Tag which reads as follows.
<title>NeoMedia Technologies - We Bring Innovative Technologies to the Forefront!</title>
There is no Description Tag and there is no Keywords Tag. This sets the page at a distinct disadvantage when compared to companies that have web sites that bring all components necessary to achive good seach engine placement.
Meta Tags as well as tending to Link Popularity strategies is the key to good search engine placement.
Hey! I just found a way to get a First Position Ranking for Neomedia. If a person Googles the following search critia "We Bring Innovative Technologies to the Forefront" (from the Title Tag) Neomedia comes up in first place. But what are the chances of someone putting in that group of words.
Search Engine Placement must not be much of a concern for Neomedia. I am not sure why this would be.
This all in my very humble opinion.

As much as your discipine is obvious and your TA, very respectible, it will it seems, fall on a few deaf ears.... I personally find it very hard to remove the emotion from the trading. With that being said, it seems to me that you may not be cut out to be a teacher. Don't get me wrong... there is nothing wrong with your presentation, your content, or your advice. But you do seem to be a little thin-skinned to be in the role of teacher. And I doubt that this board is much different than any other.
Imagine a teacher in other settings. Let's say a high school teacher demands that the whole class or the majority of the class "Get It" when it comes to grasping all the content and principles of what is presented on a daily basis. This teacher will not last long... Some kids are there with only a desire to be disruptive in class... Some are there with the desire to learn but personal problems or even disablities limit their abilities. And yes... there are some that are in love with the teacher. But in the end only a small percentage of the students will "Get It". But I digress as I am addressing the issue of how does the teacher respond in this setting. I am not concerned with the students. Some will learn, some will not.
A high school teacher probably realizes that the majority of students will not "Get It". The good teacher will do their best, constantly repeating the lessons, and not just for the benefit of those who get it but for those who are outside the fold. Seeing a students light come on, even just one... is a great victory, for it is through the efforts of just a few inspired young people that great things can happen. A teacher can be very proud of the small victories.
Imagine the impact that you and many others here on this board can make in someones life. There are those who present the fundamentals, some with great DD talents and there are those that TA. I guess we should throw in the Pumper, Dumpers, Cheerleaders, and a variety of misfits. But that is the way it is in life in the real world as well.
I suggest that you evaluate your role of "Teacher". As a teacher, it is my opinion that you set your success bar much to high and your skin is a bit thin when it comes to negative comments. To think that the majority will get it is a bit naive.
Remove yourself from the role of teacher, or at least lower you bar as far as what you consider to be a success. I for one have seen that a large number of individuals express their appreciation for you input, while only a few fall on the other side. Even the Clawman's post to which you replied to with your swan song was not all that negative. He was basically stating what I am stating.
I suggest you remove yourself from the role of teacher. You may not have the stomach for for that role. Present your Excellent TA, go light on the "Discipline Lessons" and present all info IMHO.

One thing I do like about Scanbuy is their name. Better than Paperclick. Especially for providing Shopping Specific solutions. Just Scan and Buy. I think we should own that. That will fit in with all the others go windows and whatevere they want to name our licensed technology.
ScanBuy seems to only concentrate on that single aspect of what is possible with the camera phone and bar codes. Scanning while shopping to see if you can get a can of corn cheaper elsewhere. NeoMedia as a much bigger vision of connecting the physical to the Internet.

Isocyanate exposures in the collision repair industry
http://www.lni.wa.gov/Safety/Research/HazardousChem/AutoIcn/default.asp
Isocyanate exposures in the collision repair industry
Isocyanates are a leading cause of work-related asthma and workers in the collision repair industry are at high risk. Most two-part paints and coatings used in automotive refinishing include an isocyanate-based catalyst or hardener.
Spray-painting can generate a great deal of airborne isocyanates, which painters and other nearby workers may breathe in if they are not adequately protected. Workers may also absorb isocyanates into their bodies through their skin. This may occur when workers use bare hands to mix and shoot paint or clean up spills. During spray painting, isocyanates may also be absorbed by unprotected skin at the neck, wrists, and on the face.
Asthma is a disease that affects the lungs and makes it increasingly hard to breathe. Workers who become sensitized to isocyanates and develop asthma usually can no longer work with automotive paints. Isocyanate-exposed workers have died from asthma attacks. New information suggests that isocyanates can cause asthma both through inhaling the chemical and from absorbing isocyanates through the skin.
MenaMike
Apparently there are other "Isocyanate Free" auto paint systems out there. http://www.kwikfix.com.au/Environment.html
"The Kwik Fix system has been developed using international standards as the benchmark. Europe has the strictest environmental protection regulations in the world, and these have served as the standard which Kwik Fix has set locally.
Kwik Fix cares for the environment, and leads the Australian mobile paint and plastic repair industry for its environmentally-friendly work practices. Our franchisees are trained in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements in each state, and also to meet Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and local government authority guidelines.
Our outdoor spray painting techniques are permitted by all authorities because we use special spray painting equipment to minimize any paint escaping into the atmosphere, and use a world-first Australian-developed paint system which is completely isocyanate-free. (Almost all panelbeaters and smash repairers use isocyanate paints, which is why they can only paint in sealed extraction booths). Isocyanates are toxic and harmful to humans, animals and plants.
We also go to great pains to ensure that no vehicle waste contaminants the environment. Our franchisees collect all debris from sanding and surface preparation. By disposing of this waste responsibly, they prevent it from eventually washing into stormwater drains and into our waterways.
Our repair processes use very small quantities of paint (measured in millilitres rather than litres), so there is very little waste after a repair is complete. Any excess paints are disposed of in liquid or solid form in accordance with local government regulations in each franchise territory."
