Did you mean East of Palmdale?

I do not know the distance but 40 miles sounds about right, but Victorville is definately East Paldale.

Apple Valley is only about 5 miles from Victorville.

Soooo. About 45 miles from Apple Valley to Palmdale. How big would a strat look?
