The Mayans spoke Yiddish!? Oy vey!
Histrionics aside they’re correct, the world is changing; it’s how you deal with change that makes the difference.
If you can keep your head when all about you…..
Armageddon? Really? You need to relax. As a dear old friend of mine used to say; “Nisht gedeiget. Odem yesode meofe vesofe leofe,” beyno—lveyno iz gut a trink bronfn.” (Don’t worry. A man comes from the dust and in the dust he will end —and in the meantime it is good to drink vodka.)
I understand my furry friend, after all it isn’t like we are still using stone tablets or Inuksuit to communicate (we actually have the wireless now!); but still I’m not saying that people south of the 49th are either wholly ignorant or uninformed, I’m saying that it goes deeper into the mindset of the citizenry. America was sold on “Manifest Destiny”, the isolationist Monroe Doctrine, and the “Melting Pot” ideas of societal structure; and when it was finally realized that – to paraphrase Orwell – “all men are created equal, just some more equal than others” despair, disillusion and distrust became the norm and the overriding raison d'etat behind both government and individual actions. Little wonder there is the “us vs. them” mentality. How do you overcome that? – I have no idea. And, when an individual or group “are unwilling to consider anything otherwise” I can’t help but apply the descriptor of ignorance. Thus endeth the diatribe. NO, wait, one more thing,…..
The next time someone from the U.S. of A. inquires where I’m from and, after hearing the response says, “Toronto? I’ve got a cousin there – George Smith – do you know him?” I’m going to reply in the affirmative and ask the individual to communicate with said cousin and request that he stop sexually molesting my sled dogs.
OrT
By rhetorical convention, if information is has not been provided to the individual then they are uninformed. Ignorance is generally defined as a lack of knowledge, education, or awareness. Both are unfortunate situations to be caught up in but, barring an inability to reason, ignorance is more often forced upon the individual through societal construct or religious dogma, or it is a conscious choice. Semantics I suppose but I still consider one state to be voluntary.
One shudders to think!
I suppose it can, if you’re complacent in ignorance; but, generally speaking, one would think that a modicum of intelligence and moral conviction would lend itself towards the ability to make an informed decision.
Perhaps I expect too much of our species.
That says a lot, but I’m not sure if you’re saying that the media as a whole are intentionally misleading the sheeple to satisfy some hidden self-serving agenda or if you’re implying that the populace is either too dim-witted or apathetic to invest the time in practicing due diligence in order to make informed decisions. In any case I’m glad I’m not in your shoes.
Power? Not so sure, but the “naked” and “grab” part does paint a graphic and believable picture.
Wow.
So, if I am understanding you correctly, you are faced with a broken system where trust in your political apparatus, (not to mention the individuals running the show), is questionable and according to your President, (whom presents to the rest of the world as egocentric, divisive, and not at all disinclined towards totalitarianism), tells you that you can’t trust the media or anyone whose opinion differs from his.
How do you fix a situation like that short of nuking it and paving it over? If that was Trump’s plan it seems to be working. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the plan has one decidedly major flaw – collateral damage; not just to the individuals adversely affected by the ideological and moral destruction of the society as a whole,(say those of ethnic, cultural, or religious persuasions other than the ruling elite), but to the American psyche en masse.
At one time I envied the socio-economic and political dogma and rhetoric that the United States of America espoused; now it appears to be nothing more than a chimera. I don’t envy you your situation DDF.
Tor
Just curious; as a toque wearing hoser Canuck I suppose it’s not my place to critique America’s choice of Commander-in-Chief but doesn’t the man strike you, (or to use your parlance – y’all), as just a tad unbalanced? Little wonder he’s such an easy target. Not that you (y’all) had much of a choice but still….
Obviously you went to the wrong store. Perhaps this would more ‘up your alley’?

Charleston S.C. in April, (for the “Ladies with Hats” Easter Parade), Vancouver B.C. in the summer, (great beaches), Toronto ON In the fall, (was 93.2° Fahrenheit yesterday but the leaves should be turning in a couple of weeks), and St. Johns Antigua between November and March.
And a damn fine grub.
FWIW, They are also in favour of repealing the laws of Gravity.

Only if you don't live in Toronto Canada.

Doesn't matter what you drive, you're still screwed.
Depends on the nature of the data you use as interpretive measures, objective or subjective. And, in answer to your second query re: High school students attending college I’m with the number cruncher , relatively speaking the it comes down to percentages.
Don’t you just love Canadians?
At what?
FYI - Newmont Canada FN Holdings ULC ceased reporting in 2012 and the parent (Newmont) has focused primarily on Gold and Copper since. The only entities focusing on Diamonds in Sask. are Shore, North Arrow, Alto, and Strike. Have a look:

Bored?
Both beautiful cities; great food, nice people, a bit expensive, but well worth the cost.
The better half and I have spent a lot of time in both cities, (usually around the Easter long weekend), but Charleston’s my favorite. We time the visit so we can watch “The Hat Ladies Easter Promenade” along Meeting Street and indulge in a Mint Julep or two at The Carriage House, (we usually stay there so it’s convenient).
If it wasn’t such a pain in the arse for a Canadian to set up temporary residency in The States I would have bought a place there after the crash. Now it’s a little out of my $ range.
Savannah’s terrific too, nothing beats a po’boy and a cold draft for lunch on the roof of The Cotton Sail.
Ever been to Charleston S.C. or Savannah?

Stop teasing the dummy dammit! You didn't even tell him about the Fingerprint/DNA tests required. The least you could do is give him complete info.
Did you put them on backwards again?
Truth be told I haven’t been paying much attention. He, (or she), appears to have quite eclectic tastes if nothing else. Whatever floats the boat and all that.
Geez, I don't know. Sounds about right........
Your answers reveal that intuition is your most dominant personality trait. You listen to your gut, and it is hardly ever wrong. People are sometimes caught off guard by your perceptiveness. You are also an excellent judge of character.
