I do do not know what is going on. Let's stay positive and keep trying. Anything is possible. This week I will try to contact some of the lead investors in this.
John
I just got this e-mail from an investor to another BIGGER investor in SOCI:
----------
Saturday, September 18, 2010 4:16 AM
Dear Norman
I am a share holder of Southern Energy. It's been a long time I've heard something about the situation of Southern Energy. When will SOCI be relisted?
Are the shareholders still trying to place the project back into production?
Sincerely
JO

This is Norms e-mail: newsom@telus.net
Hello, has anyone found out what happened to our stocks after Sept. 2009 when new company was acquired? They just disappeared? Please let me know since we have been trying to find out for the past year. Thanks again.
I don't know. Hopefully soon.
Has anyone heard anything on SOCI?
To Chuckpenny and others in search of info:
Yes, we are continuing to find out what has been going on with SOCI. Mr. Newsom is an original investor in the company and has some contact with the CEO of SOCI I believe. If you havn't already, please go over the e-mails in detail that we posted.
I sounds like SOCI will be up again trading after its filing issues with the SEC get dealt with completely.
I asked Mr Newsom these questions:
People ask me questions about what is going to happen to all of our shares. Do you have any knowledge of this? Are our shares still good? Should we get our shares from our brokers and hold them ourselves, since many brokers do not respond to any questions about SOCI?
This was his answer:
I can not answer these questions as yet, but I will ask the lawyer and see what he thinks. The brokers have nothing to see until the company does a news release or a filing and therefore they have nothing to tell you.
Andrew Hudders the company lawyer has asked Ricardo Munoz to check with the Chilean Navy on the concession at Lota Bay as to the status after the earthquake. It appears the concessions are still intact and the damage is minor at the site with the access road suffering the only significant damage. I will try to keep you informed of developments
Norman Newsom
Dear chuckpenny
I'm not Mr Newsom. I'm just a shareholder of SOCI just like you but after a long search I finally found someone who could answer some questions about SOCI.
I will ask Mr Newsom What you want to know.
Dear Mr Newsom,
I have a couple of simple questions. Are our shares still good? Should we get our shares from our brokers and hold them ourselves, since many brokers do not respond to any questions about SOCI?
Thank you,
chuckpenny
Hello All,
I just want to let everyone know that there is yet another investor (myself) who purchased SOCI and then saw it fall off the map! The discussion you have going here is the first on SOCI information that I have ever come across, and I have been searching for a year. I hope everyone will continue searching and trying to find the status of our shares. Are they now worthless??
Thanks all,
chuckpenny

What is going to happen to all of our shares? Can you please ask Mr. Newsom if he has any knowledge of this.
Yes, this was recent. About two weeks ago I asked the CEO of Majestic Silver to give the email of David Shaw so I could contact him.
I recieved this email from Mr. Newson yesterday.
Was this recent?
John
Mr. XXX:
David Shaw told me about your inquiry that was sent to Majestic Silver and then forwarded this to me. That is how I have your email address and inquiry.
There is no real contact to the company as we are spending our money to bring the company back to trade not on PR.
SOCI was delisted as the company could not bring all audits upto date as the old records the lawyer said he had were never delivered to the management and therefore the missing audits could not be completed. As the company had been a reporting issuer, this meant that the company was in violation of SEC rules and was then delisted. The directors were give bad advice by the previous lawyer and that is why a new and very competent lawyer/law firm was retained.
As the filing are filed then accepted there will be news releases about the status of the company. Once the company is back trading with working capital I would expect the management to update the website and release the appropiate news to the shareholders and the public.
Sincerely
Norm Newsom
Hi Jurgen.
This is all I have hear from Mr. Newsom below:
Re: Southern EnergyFriday, March 5, 2010 1:16 PM
From: "Norm Newsom" <nnewsom@telus.net>View contact details
To: "John Kountouris" <xirokambi38@yahoo.com>
John:
As I stated in my email to Jurgen, the audit and all related material is either in place or very close and the required filings with the SEC and Finera should be completed shortly. From that point onward it is totally upto the timing of the SEC and Finera for approvals for Southern Energy to come back to trade.
I have no offical capacity with SOCI and neither do the other shareholders invlolved, we like you just want to see the company come back to trade. None of our group are market people rather professional people, engineers, geologist etc., and we want very much to place the project into production as the cash flow will help build a real company over time.
Please email any of your question and concerns and I will do my best to walk you through what is happening.
Take care
Norman Newsom
So, nothing new since he replied to me. Please try to keep in touch with him as I will too.
Thank you Jurgen!
John
John,
Did you ask Mr. Newson some more questions and did you get extra information?
Dear XXX
I am a share holder of Southern Energy like you, the only difference is I was an original investor in the company.
Myself and several large investors have gotten together to try and bring SOCI back to trade on the OTCBB and Frankfurt exchanges. To date with the help of Mr Ricardo Munoz, the President of Southern Energy, we have funded a new securities lawyer, Anderws Hudders of a large New York firm, a new auditor, Daniel Lafley, CPA of M&K CPAS, PLLC and have answered all question to complete a new set of audits. We expect to file an S-1 filing with the SEC and a 15C-211 filing with Finera within days.
Our group of investors has also kept the Lota Coal Concession in Lota Bay Chile in good standing and once the company is trading again we expect that with the expertise of consultants and large shareholders, we would still expect to develop the project.
We have been in touch with the Chilean Navy and they stated that the pier and the surrounding area that was to be used to recover the coal has not been damaged as much as most areas by the major earthquake of last weekend that was centered some 60 kms from Lota Bay. The timing of the project will now depend upon the reconstruction of the road and railway system in the area along with the trading approvals of the SEC and Finera.
Please send myself any question you may have of Southern Energy as Mr. Munoz is very hard to communicate with as his house was partially destroyed and he is still without power, only a cell phone for communication.
Thank you for your inquiry to Dr. David Shaw who has been such a great help in our going forward.
Take care
Norman Newsom

just got this from sec:
Dear Mr. Kountouris:
Thank you for your taking the time to alert us to your concerns. The SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy (OIEA) processes many complaints received from individual investors and others. We keep records of the correspondence we receive in a searchable database that SEC staff may make use of in inspections, examinations, and investigations. In addition, some correspondence received by OIEA is referred directly to other SEC offices and divisions for their review.
Please understand that the SEC conducts its investigations on a confidential and nonpublic basis and neither confirms nor denies the existence of an investigation unless the SEC brings charges against someone involved. We do this to protect the integrity and effectiveness of our investigative process and to preserve the privacy of the individuals and entities involved.
As a result, we will not be able to confirm whether an investigation exists or provide you with any future updates on the status of your complaint or of any pending SEC investigation. You may wish to check our website, www.sec.gov, for information about pending SEC civil actions, administrative cases, and other matters. Please do note that if an investigation or other Commission action is initiated, it is possible you will be contacted by SEC staff for additional information.
I’ve attached a flyer that describes our policy as it will apply to your complaint. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any other questions.

Hello.
I invested in this company back last year and they suddenly were pulled from the exchange. They are engaged in the exploration of coal properties and other minerals. From 2007 to present date the company has been active in finding and developing coal properties in North and South America. The Company earns working interests in early and/or advanced stage of coal and other mineral properties.
The advertising company for this stock was Pennystockchaser.com and they were really pumping this stock (their last update below) UNTIL the bottom just dropped out from under us. The Facebook update last sent me is below:

www.pennystockchaser.com – SOCI, NVSR, and IFUS – All racking up gains for members this morning
SOCI, NVSR, and IFUS all reported strong news in the last 24 hours.
News drives investor interest and investor interest usually drives stocks higher. We think SOCI, NVSR, and IFUS are headed much higher after the labor day weekend holiday.
SOCI is @ .74 this morning which is up 17.46%. The volume at mid-day is 162,658. The company had news at the close in regards to a cola concession in Chile. SOCI has been a barn burner for the last three days. The stock has moved from .26 on Monday and looks like it will move past the old high of $1.23. Members should expect big news @ SOCI and we will release a special report on the company over the weekend.

INFORMATION ABOUT SEC INVESTIGATIONS
Each year, thousands of investors ask the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate the activities of other investors, financial professionals, corporations, brokerage firms, investment companies, stock exchanges, and others. These complaints generally suggest some impropriety or misconduct and sometimes make a plea to the SEC for direct assistance in resolving a grievance.
The SEC has the authority to investigate whether violations of the federal securities laws have occurred, and we make every effort to evaluate promptly and thoroughly the information provided by investors. But we cannot investigate every investor complaint. While many investor complaints do lead to full investigations and, if appropriate, to enforcement actions, we cannot guarantee that our review will lead to further investigation or that the SEC will take any legal action.
We also cannot provide you with updates on the status of your complaint or your request for an investigation. The SEC conducts investigations confidentially for two main reasons. First, we can conduct investigations more effectively if they are not announced publicly. For instance, important documents and evidence can be destroyed quickly if people hear of an investigation. Second, we keep our investigations confidential to protect the reputations of companies and individuals if we find no wrongdoing or decide we cannot bring a successful action against them. The SEC will not confirm or deny the existence of an investigation unless, and until, it becomes a matter of public record as the result of a court action or administrative proceeding.
When there is proof that someone has violated the securities laws, the sanctions may include financial penalties, orders to surrender profits, cease and desist orders, or an injunction by a court to prevent further violations. The SEC may also bar individuals from working for a securities firm, investment adviser, or investment company. We can also ask a federal court to bar individuals from being officers and directors of publicly held companies. In some situations, we may refer a case to the Department of Justice for possible criminal prosecution.
The SEC publishes news releases about its lawsuits and administrative actions, and the news media often report on them. You can read and download the SEC’s “Enforcement Actions” on our website at www.sec.gov/divisions/enforce/enforceactions.shtml. Ok, I will try to contact the SEC. No, I have not contacted them yet. My e-mail is: xirokambi38@yahoo.com.
The only one from SOCI that I possibly can contact is David Shaw because he works also for other companys like First Majestic Silver Corp. I tried to contact him but they didn't respond to my question. I really want to ask him some things about SOCI because he is the only one that works for another company and didn't disappear in the dark like the other crooks. I want to find his email, so john maybe you can help me?
Did you contact the SEC about this company? It's a bit difficult for me to do that because I'm from Europe and my english is not so good to explain the whole story to the SEC.
How funny! I just decided to check this board and you posted today. Well, I'm prayin that SOCI raises from the dead! Let's keep trying, though, to find out what happened. Thanks!
Unfortunately, I do not have any other information on SOCI. I believe that the company is still functioning but I do not know more than that. Sorry.
PSC told me this:
As for SOCI, the company was halted for failing to keep up with their filings and to my knowledge has chosen not to relist at this time. This is a move that no one could have predicted.
Yeah, well, thats how the game is played, I guess. They still have their website up. Just have to hope something come up, soon.
I asked PSC about those rumours but of course they didn't tell me:
I do not wish to perpetuate any rumours about SOCI. I would suggest attempting to contact the company directly for an answer.
Unfortunately, I do not know if the company will or will not trade on the market again. I do not have any other information about the company. I am sorry they have not contacted you back.
Hello XXX,
It is true SOCI was halted last year. PSC was advised that this was done as they did not keep up with their filings. As to why the stock is still inactive I do not have any information. There are a number of rumours as to why they are not trading but I do not have any confirmed information as to the actual reason.
Thanks,

Does it really take that long to restructure such a tiny company?
No answer from the company.
I'm a investor from Europe and I want to contact the SEC but my english is not so good. Have you asked questions to the SEC about SOCI and if they have tried to get relisted again?
I can't find the email of the CEO, so now I'm searching for the email of David Shaw because he works for others too.
Well, I tried contacting them in Oct. '09 but no response either. Pennystockchaser.com told me that they might be in the process of restructuring the company, etc. I've tried to find some kind of recourse too, believe me. I put a lot of money in this too. You can try Pennystockchaser.com yourself since they were the ones promoting this-and they should have warned investors somehow before the freakin' ground dropped out from beneath us!
Is there anybody here that could tell me if Soci is ever gonna resume their activities? I failed to contact the company and I wanna now if I going to see my money back. Guess not but you never know.
This is what pennystockchaser.com (who was advertising for SOCI) told me today about SOCI's situation:
Penny Stockchaser October 27 at 7:04am Report
SOCI does seem to have vanished. We have not yet heard what is going on with this stock. As they have not made an announcemet I would hope this is a short term thing. For more information I would contact the company directly.
Dosn't help much, I know...
Well my ING sharebuilder shows this:
SOCI
SOUTHERN ENERGY COMPANY INC CO
$0.00 0.0 % Buy | Sell
NO MONEY IN IT ANYMORE!!! These jerks...we need to take action, but how? Or did we just get screwed and there is nothing we can do...
Read this please. Ever since this stock was it's new symbol "SOCI" from it's old one "CHAT" it showed in my Scottrade account as "#CHAT". I couldn't buy or sell it. I called to scottrade and was told they didn't get some papers from the transfer agent. Anyways I get a letter a few days ago and now when I click the "#CHAT" symbol in my account it does not direct me to any stocks page, not even the SOCI page.
The letter is as follows:
Security Description: CHATCOM INC
161723101/CHAT#
Quantity: 28,000
"We are writing to you concerning your position described above and held in your account. There is no known market for the security and there is no known transfer agent service available. Here's what the folks at pennystockchaser told me today:
Penny sent you a message.
"SOCI was halted as they failed to keep up with their filings - thats what we were told. They need to get the filings up to date and then can start trading within 10 days."
Also this crap:
SOCI - SEC Suspension
http://messages.finance.yahoo.com/Stocks_%28A_to_Z%29/Stocks_S/threadview?m=tm&bn=74419&tid=76&mid=76&tof=1&frt=2
Here's the ORDER OF SUSPENSION OF TRADING
http://www.sec.gov/litigation/suspensions/2009/34-60713-o.pdf
So should people get out of SOCI?
I found this article:
SEC charges Briner in alleged pump-and-dump
http://www.stockwatch.com/newsit/newsit_newsit.aspx?bid=Z-C:*SEC-1640607&symbol=*SEC&news_region=C
Why has it halted?
Looks like the run from the promo is over, they usually only last a day or so.
