RockTenn (NYSE: RKT) is a leading North American manufacturer of paperboard, containerboard, consumer and corrugated packaging and merchandising displays. Since its founding in 1936, RockTenn has focused on low-cost paperboard and packaging products and services that bring high value to its customers, employees and investors. Based in Norcross, GA, the Company operates manufacturing facilities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Argentina.
RockTenn reports its results of operations in four industry segments: (1) Consumer Packaging (2) Corrugated Packaging (3) Merchandising Displays and (4) Specialty Paperboard Products. The Consumer Packaging segment consists of an integrated system of five coated 100 percent recycled paperboard mills and a bleached paperboard mill that produces paperboard for our folding cartons facilities and third parties. The Corrugated Packaging segment consists of an integrated system that manufactures 100 percent recycled linerboard and corrugated medium (containerboard), corrugated sheets, corrugated packaging and preprinted linerboard for sale to industrial and consumer products manufacturers and corrugated box manufacturers. The Merchandising Displays segment consists of facilities that produce temporary and permanent point of purchase displays. The Specialty Paperboard Products segment consists of an integrated system of five specialty recycled paperboard mills which produces paperboard for the company's converting operations and third parties. The converting facilities convert specialty paperboard into book covers and laminated paperboard products for use in furniture, automotive components, storage and other industrial products. RockTenn also buys and sells recycled fiber.
