IGLD went from 5 to 25...

Noah China successfully developed the first hand-held calculator
Published: 2007.12.18 17:08 Source: Reuters Author: forget -
[Ccidnet.com] December 18 news, national 11th Five-Year Plan focuses on educational technology issues - "handheld network learning system in the academic teaching of applied research" recently made a major breakthrough: in a new generation of handheld Nuoezhou learning platform successfully inquiry into "graphic terms" technology, China's first hand-held calculator officially born. This afternoon, Nuoezhou Learning Machine "graphic terms" technical formally adopted by the Ministry of Education Central Identification electronic teaching museum.
By the Central Audio-visual Archive, Renjiaoshe, Beijing University, Beijing Normal University and other educational technology experts and mathematics education experts, composed of identification was agreed that: Nuoezhou in the latest generation of handheld learning platform successfully developed the "calculator" function to fill China's handheld devices, interactive graphics study of the technology gap, in line with the state's new curriculum standards reform needs Inquiry is the ideal platform for learning in the new curriculum standards and to promote reform in the areas of mathematical inquiry with important promotional value and value.
According to this reporter's knowledge, mathematical graphing calculator technology as the inquisitive learning of the teaching of advanced information technology has become a mathematics teaching and research information indispensable teaching tool. In the United States and some other developed countries, the graphing calculator has been a wide range of popular and go to the primary and secondary schools in every classroom teaching. At present only the United States but the world Texas Instruments, Hewlett-Packard, Casio and other Japanese manufacturers can produce several.
As China's implementation of the new curriculum standards the continuous deepening of the country's primary and secondary school mathematics teaching on the graphing calculator, and other information of the use of teaching tools also made increasing demands. However, before the domestic inquisitive learning math teaching used by the handheld graphics computing equipment provided by foreign enterprises, a single price in more than 2,000 yuan, which is very expensive, and from operating language, function settings, to the user's interactive operating habits, high prices, lack the process of localization, complex operation so that teachers and students is not easy to grasp, high costs of procurement for some bad economic conditions, tight funding for education schools and students are difficult to graphics The teaching of information technology have brought tremendous challenges, which restricts the teaching of mathematics in-depth inquiry carried out, in our primary and secondary schools teaching mathematics is still in the experimental stage.
I think they will get it... I think all the food companies will get increases.. may take a couple months or so...

results and an actual increase in margins despite rising milk costs - maybe LWAY can pull that off with the price increase.

Profit from a busted Chinese IPO
Noah Education (NED) is a high growth Chinese company in an attractive market, trading at value prices. With nearly half their stock price in cash ($3.65/share), the company is trading at an ex-cash trailing P/E of 12. Though some short term risks exists, I believe NED offers an incredibly attractive risk/reward here, and a surprisingly affordable relative and absolute value for a Chinese company.
Company Overview
NED IPOed in October, selling 9.8M shares for $14/share. Please note that the proceeds from the IPO (~$130M) are not reflected in the most recent financial statements, which are for the quarter ended September.
NED primarily produces learning devices and content for children aged 5-19. The companies' primary product, their DLD (~80% of revenues), is a handled device preloaded with over 30,000 courses on a variety of subjects. Though there are competitors, NED is the current leader in the space, and their product is generally considered superior to competitor's products. There are about 233M school children in NED's target. With total DLD sales to date estimated at 6mm, there is plenty of potential for increased penetration as prices eventually come down. Current estimates call for DLD unit growth of 20% annually through 2009.
The company also sells an e-dictionary product (~20% of revenue) which has become commoditized and should not be a significant driver of profits going forward.
Though the majority of NED's revenue currently comes from the DLD device itself, it's worth noting that NED is building an extremely valuable library of learning content that, to date, it is mostly monetizing through its DLDs. NED's content was largely compiled by a network of over 250 teachers, and has received strong endorsement from the Chinese government, as well as from users. The company plans to continue to build on and monetize this content in the future through other channels (e.g. the web, cell phones, etc.).
The companies' main growth initiative is its focus on building out after school tutoring centers, targeting school children in the 5-19 year old range. The largest provider of tutoring services, New Oriental (EDU), tends to target a slightly older audience, from senior secondary students to adults. Noah is in a fantastic position to leverage its strong brand and to potentially become a dominant player in the space. This market has attracted lots of attention due to EDU's success, but I think NED's strong brand and existing content should give them a leg up on the emerging competition. This is also an incredibly large market, and there should be plenty of room for multiple large players. NED will also benefit from enormous cross-marketing opportunities. They are in a great position to drive current DLD users to their tutoring centers, and to promote their DLDs to their tutoring customers.
It's also worth emphasizing just how important education is in Chinese households. The Chinese education system is incredibly competitive, and success in school, as well as English language skills, are incredibly important to career success. Due to China's 1 child policy, parents will often invest heavily in their children's education to ensure that their children have the best opportunity to get ahead as possible. NED is a great way to play the rapidly growing income of Chinese families, as its revenue going forward should be highly levered to the prosperity of the Chinese consumer.
Risks:
So, how did this get so cheap? The company received a lot of negative press after one of its manufacturer's forgot to put a warning label on one of its products. Though this was in actuality not a big deal, the local media overblew the situation, and NED received a lot of bad press. The company has increased its marketing and taken efforts to restore its brand, but it is likely that--at least in the short term--the companies' reputation has been damaged. The news wiped out roughly 60% of NED's enterprise value, which I believe was a strong over-reaction. That said, it is possible that the negative press damages sales going forward, even beyond the next quarter or two.
An additional risk is pricing pressure and eventual commoditization of DLDs. Though the products are currently differentiated significantly, it is possible that NED will lose its edge as its competitors build out their own proprietary content. I think this is a long-term risk, but given strong pricing trends and NED's recent market share gains, this issue seems like it still may be some time away.
Valuation:
Adjusting for cash, NED trades at a P/E of only 12, with incredible growth prospects both in its interactive education content and tutoring business. It's worth noting that the market places a much higher value on tutoring and online education services than it does device manufacturers. EDU has a trailing P/E of 70; though I think that we'll see that come down eventually, I would do think a 25-30 P/E could be reasonable on NED's earnings from its tutoring business when it starts generating significant income. At today's prices, you are getting the interactive education business, which is anticipated to grow 20-30% annually for the foreseeable, at bargain prices, not to mention a free call option on what could be a highly profitable tutoring and education content business, which could allow for multiple expansion as NED transitions from a device company to an education company. With $3.65 in cash providing a nice downward cushion, I believe NED offers an incredibly attractive risk/reward opportunity, especially for a Chinese stock. Though I have no specific price target, I could easilly see this being a multi-bagger of the next few years if the tutoring initiative is successful, and if NED reaches the lofty valuation multiples achieved by education companies in the US or China.
Note: Author is long NED.
bought some NED and looking...
at picking up some more LWAY - but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Made a list of about 10 china IPOs and like NED the most out of all so took the plunge.
Agree.. AVEE is not liquid and with the shares I have could drop it back to $1.40's.... Thus one person's fear could do it..
Holding long good companies with strong managers only in this range..
AVEE
LWAY
SOYO
just another...
102 points down on Naz to close the gap - then should get a big bounce - whether it sticks or not is another question.
just a theory.
your numbers look good...
but even AVEE is not immune to a correction in this brutal market. may be ok to hold, but would wait to buy on a dip - odds are it's coming IMO.
Naz may have...
another 100 points down before a market turn IMO - the gap up from mid August needs filled. would be fine with me if it happened in 1 day just to get it over with.
Then need dollar to pop up, oil to drop, good Black Friday consumer spending numbers, and a rate cut. Would make for a merry Christmas IMO.
AVEE.OB is a good pick right now IMO....
Ask is $1.98
OK here goes...
8k says EPS was $.049 x 4 = $.20 per share. Is the x 4 correct to assume? Yes because of history... This increase was due to recent aquisition
History says this stock has trading range of pe 11-25...
So at
$.20 x 11 = $2.20
$.20 x 25 = $5.00
Can the company handle the increase Cap? I say yes! see compares here in yellows...
http://www.geocities.com/syte.storage/software_yahoo.htm
Thus.. it's my predictions that if you can get some now under $2.00.... at very min you make 10%.. but I hold for at least $3.oo per share. I beleive EPS will be in the $.25 forward range for 2008 makes for F PE of 12 and cap of $20.5 million
The neat thing about this biz... it is repeat biz... once they sign someone up.. it continues month after month! Strong Quality managers too!
tough few days for both of these...
stocks - holding on, but market is not cooperating like would like it too. Ouch.
i believe they both will...
do well - but the search never ends for another. SYTE looking better and FE has probably learned not to overpromise now. GXYF jumped up before filling my order. Lots of 10Q's coming over the next 2 weeks - looking for the big winners. Last Q's winner I pegged as DFNS - I was wrong since stock did nothing and even pulled back some. Will be doing lots of 10Q reading - actually enjoy it and get excited when believe discover one that belongs higher. good luck - as always.
Nice move on LWAY...
I think SOYO has a great chance of doing very well too.
SOYO and LWAY...
just documenting thoughts - not many read this board anyway - want to have this down in writing.
Sold some LWAY but bought most of it back recently. Holding strong on SOYO.
Believe both of these stocks will be moving much higher in future. SOYO is performing better as far as continuing to dramatically improve revenue and earnings - has the better outlook, and the major "rockability"/catalyst factor with upcoming release of Honeywell products - in short - it has all the things I value most going for it. It is making a clear case for being "the One".
LWAY took a pause with the lack of significant quarter over quarter revenue increase, but it still has all of the above qualities also. Their catalyst for improvement include the opening of the new Starfruit shop and the inevitable pick up of their food distribution agreements - and of course continuation of Kefir's rising popularity.
My conviction to hold SOYO and LWAY through downturns and corrections comes from my own knowledge and experience on mostly 3 stocks I occasionaly point to - HANS, CROX and ABAT (now GBT). I know that I owned all of these stocks at or near their lows, and well before their major runs. I did so much DD on them and elevated them to the level of "don't sell" until a specified period. But, I sold each of them too early - too early being that if would have held for as long as I planned would have made over a million. These are the only 3 stocks that have previously focused on and written personal notes on (except to some extent SYTE which I bought a ton of in the $0.01 range and sold most over $0.10).
Expectations for SOYO and LWAY exceed even those I had for the above stocks (excluding possibly HANS since I proclaimed to family members that HANS energy drinks will take the world by storm). I bought monster energy drinks by the case and have a closet full of Crocs.
Now have an addiction to Kefir and starting to accumulate several SOYO products - including dual 19 inch monitors and plans to purchase 2 SOYO TVs around Christmas and the Honeywell TV soon after they are released in early 2008. Very pleased with the dual monitors - in fact, quite possibly my favorite electronic purchase ever. If not for the fact that bought a new large HDTV right before bought into SOYO stock - would certainly own a big SOYO TV now - they are great bargains.
SOYO and LWAY will make me very rich IMO. This is my documentation of my conviction to hold them.
SOYO, current price = $1.38
LWAY = $15.38

Scheduled for Oct. 29
$375.7 million post-money valuation
Is it 1999 all over again? No matter how mature the Internet seems, investors want stock in it. Hence, Internet Gold - Golden Lines Ltd. (Nasdaq: IGLD), an Israeli telecommunications and Internet company, is spinning off its 012 Smile.Communications subsidiary, which operates a broadband Internet service, VoIP-based telephone and business services, and a network of Wi-Fi Internet access spots throughout Israel. After the deal closes, Internet Gold will own 73.3% of the 012 Smile.Communications business and all of its Smile.Media business, which provides online content, advertising, commerce and search services.
Internet Gold hopes to net about $91.3 million from the offering of 6,675,000 shares at a price between $14 and $16 per share. (All numbers are in U.S. dollars on U.S. GAAP.) Of the proceeds from the offering, $41.0 million will go to pay off debt, debentures, and a contingent payment stemming from its December 2006 acquisition of 012 Golden Lines, an Internet service provider (ISP) that was rolled into Smile.Communications. The rest of the funds will go to general corporate purposes, possibly including acquisitions. Acquisitions aside, the big source of growth will be telephone services. Israel is a tiny country. Its citizens come from all over the world, and its businesses (including Internet Gold) rely on customers and partners all over the place. Hence, it’s easy for people to run up big long-distance bills, and that makes alternatives attractive. Already, the company captures 34% of incoming and outgoing international call minutes within Israel.
Although 012 Smile.Communications is the second largest ISP in Israel with about a third of the market, it generated just $244.4 million in revenue from one million residential and business customers in 2006 on a pro-forma basis. To put that in perspective, Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA), which is the second largest ISP in the United States with about 12% of the market, brought in over $24.9 billion in total revenue last year, although the company did not break down how much of those sales came from its 11 million Internet subscribers and how much came from customers using television and telephone services.
IGLD - here it something that...
may also spark it higher in near future:
Sep. 25--The Ministry of Communications will hold a hearing to formulate it policy for a WiMAX tender, after the subject was postponed several times and was not included in the 2008 economics arrangements bill. The ministry plans to conclude the hearing by mid-October and then work on the responses from the public and communications providers before publishing the tender.
Minister of Communications Ariel Atias said, "I believe that when the process is completed, a fifth cellular operator will enter the market who will offer private consumers the lowest price in the coming years for advanced 4G technology. The train has left the station. We're pushing the subject as part of our policy to encourage competition in the cellular market."
Atias said that the ministry would give priority to a new operator that currently lacks a cellular infrastructure. He said that Internet Gold Golden Lines Ltd. (Nasdaq: IGLD; TASE:IGLD) subsidiary 012 Smile.Communications Ltd., which is already operating a pilot under a Ministry of Communications license, was the leader in terms of know-how and potential for innovation.
Atias said that MIRS Communications Ltd. was the second preference. "If Smile and MIRS bid in the tender under the exact same terms, Smile will win because it has priority as it is not a cellular operator," he said.
"WiMAX is a very new technology in the world. We're one of the most advanced and pioneering countries in this matter. We're one step ahead on this technology and we're not waiting to see how the world is going. We're basically talking about a third infrastructure after Bezeq The Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) and Hot Cable Systems Media Ltd. (TASE: HOT)."
Atias reiterated that the tender winner would be the company offering the lowest price for services to the consumer, including inter-network connectivity fees, for five years.

LWAY I bought a good bit in the 8's - 9's, then sold sometime 10-14...Shorted it at around 14 and covered around 12.... then went long again into 16... and shorted it again the other day when it got to 20... LOL.. One time I'm gonna miss on that one... The funny thing is, had I just held long, I would have made a bit more! Because they had that flat Q, I think it's a warning, if you look at all the other food stocks, the ratio's look high, making the risk high. It's being pumped to the masses and then hedge funds will short the crap outta it once any negative news hits. It's held up though with that flat news.. I could be wrong too.
Yahoo food stock date: http://www.geocities.com/syte.storage/foodstocks.htm
Soyo I like alot. I bought in the 50's and came home one day and saw I placed a limit out in the $60's. Wrong move. Next thing ya know, $1.. LOL
4 of us are the main buyers of the GX right now... I've talked with the company a couple times and trust there guidance. This Q will be key IMO.. if it's flat, then this stock will be long winner... If revs in the < 5.5 range.. Not good... but I think bottom is here.. as long as founder doesn't dump.
had to look...
solecism up in dictionary - and can imagine what happened - kind of funny.
Found LWAY on IBD Top-Rated Stocks Under $10 list - which I pay about $99/year to get along with the couple of hundred dollars per year for the regular subscription - so IBD found it for me at around $8 - and that's where I bought most of it. Huge winner for me - relatively speaking - since I'm sure the Wall Street big wigs would say it's petty cash - lol.
I sold some around $18.5 recently and have order to buy back in at $17.90 - as soon as I sold I felt "empty" (he, he, he) but holding quite a bit still - plan was to sell and and buy back in quick on expected dip - but it really didn't dip like thought would (were the only shares have sold since originally buying). Almost feel like I panic sold since did so on revenue miss - but thinking there will be big PR on opening of Starfruit Shop and bound to get more distribution agreements - I will pay higher than current order if not able to build position back up soon.
Holding all of SOYO and have not sold a single share - I think it could be "The One".
Have order in to buy some GXYF at .31 - put right after dip - previous order expired before it got filled.
LOL.. DD..
You called SOYO and LWAY. LWAY was my biggest winner in 2007.. Rode it up and down, twice! Did you find LWAY on the A[xx]?
too embarrassed to tell ya about solecism click with SOYo.. taxes will be paid though... oh well.. gx will be da next big'n fer me, I hope...
Always look'n for another..
another one that was near...
the top was INWK - which is kind of a printing broker. Was just profiled in IBD New Americal today. I didn't buy any and probably won't, just providing a strong growth company for others to look at.
I'm stickin with it...
at least into next year - most likely. Hey, I thought you did a bunch of DD and also liked it - lol.
Here's how I found it. Sat down a few weeks ago with IBD and went through every single stock in the $10 - 20 range looking at their IBD EPS and [Sales + Profit Margins + ROE] rating. Picked only ones with a 90 or better EPS and an A [xx] rating.
That right there indicates good quality stock IMO. That narrowed it down to around 40 stocks. Then went through and looked at growth rates, shares out, insider ownership, balance sheet and several other items. When got down to final 4 - went with the "rockability" - could be next Google or Yahoo in Europe. But really favored IGLD after read all they had going on. Took over a week to do all of this.
Anyway - glad to know someone else owns it. I think we'll get some shares of the IPO - will have to read the fine print - and with recent merger - it's like an IPO itself. Read Yahoo board - company is friends with some high ranking Gov officials in home country.
LOL.. I saw that right after I bought!
but during the past 5 years.... about a buck to today $13.50 makes for a good solid growth pattern, and history....
I did buy just on your post btw.. LOL.. and the long chart history too... but will look at them a bit deeper...
I'm sure the cash will be put to good use.. and giff needed another ISP beyond ELNK and SYTE...
good to know - wonder how this...
impacts us - probably won't know until see the details - but others seem to like it - nice gains after announced:

Vita Food Products Inc. (AMEX:VSF)
some brief comments...
- New ownership and board (very key)
- Possible that they will try and grow vs. history of flat revenues
- writeoff of $1.4 million goodwill 4th Q 2006. (Not expecting another, thus forward PE expected)
- Low Mkt cap of $10 mil compared to many other food stocks when Net income will come.... expecting mkt cap of $20-$30 mil
- down 52% from Year high... History to repeat
- 4th Q is season for this company
I think it's a watch/start to accumulate for the next 6 months.... as all bad news may come out with new mgt wanting to start fresh...

AVEE just announced the purchase of $2 mil more in Revs... for cash and very little stock, 260K shares...
Not sure what value yet...
I've been ignoring this board - shame...
on me. AVEE looking very good chart wise - not a stellar quarter - always did like it and had a fairly good size order in that expired before it filled. Believe it's a buy near here and may pull the trigger soon. Have so much tied up in LWAY and SOYO - have been buying all dips on those - not much spare money right now.
Have on to do list to go through IBD list and update this board - soon.
Good entry is AVEE.OB
just increased revs by $2 mil!
and profitable!!!

Galaxy Nutritional Foods, Inc. (GXYF.OB)
Current price is $.70
This one came off the big board last year. It's in a turnaround. Paying of debt and improving cash flow
They did it by
- selling mfg equipment
- eliminating some unprofitable products
They are taking advantage of the health kick...
my predict based on history.... notice PE on right.. notice what should happen at the next 10K....
Nice chart!
Also like UWNK and WGA...
but have sell in on WGA at 4 to buy more of the others.
LWAY and SOYO my 2 favorites...
but UWNK is gaining ground quickly.
Not giving up on this board just haven't had a lot of time to spend on it. Would welcome any assistants.
Concept is based mostlu on IBD's stocks under $10 and Cramer's position that stocks in between $2 and $10 have the greatest potential for returns, but also have the greatest risk. Therefore, the key would be to minimize the risk while going for maximimum returns.
adding ALAN...
has been on internal watch list for years. RFID tracking systems for prisons and trucking. Nice company with good potential.
IMAX - saw 300 at IMAX theatre...
and it was incredible. Most enjoyable experience ever at a movie and well worth the $12 price. This is going to catch on IMO and hence putting my money where my mouth is.
ABAT - had to sell the rest...
just can't hold onto any longer - shot almost straight up and sold a lot too early so felt compelled to hold the rest for longer than I normally probably would have. What a run - and really made some $$'s on this one. But to hold longer just defies the overwhelming odds.
have to add IMAX - and they report...
tomorrow - should be interesting. Holding quite a bit a looking for it to close the gap to around 9.8.
now completely out of ABAT after...
the huge pop up. may buy back in on a good corrective drop. what a nice run up. good stock and keeping on the close watch list.
WGA - plunged into on this NEWS...
After all - retirees and slot machines go ahnd in hand - simple.

OK - feel a litle better for airing that out...
not much, but some. ABAT was one of my favorite too.
Stop it - quit hammering yourself - ain't the first time, won't be the last.
This is called "internal board therapy".
Pain, suffering, and a pox on...
me for selling most of ABAT yesterday - right before the NEWS and runup. Just a mind-blowing example of bad timing and selling for non-fundamental related semi-panic reasons. Still made money, but missed an incredible gain if only would have sold a day friggin later.
Cost me lots of $$$$'s as ABAT was one of biggest holdings. On the bright side, sold lots of ALTI at good price - have odd feeling it may go up signficantly now.
Got off margin - so that's good.
Won't touch LWAY holdings or several of favorite micro-caps --which I think are overdue for pops.
