ABAT - Nano Patent NEWS - electrifying - Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc.'s Wholly Owned Subsidiary Issued China Patent for Nano Material Lithium Ion Battery
Wednesday February 14, 8:30 am ET
HARBIN, CHINA--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 14, 2007 -- Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB:ABAT.OB - News), a developer and manufacturer of rechargeable Polymer-Lithium-Ion (PLI) batteries, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, ZQ Power-Tech, was issued a patent of invention by The Intellectual Property Bureau of the People's Republic of China for the invention of the nano material lithium ion battery and its technology process. The patent's number is 200510087299X. The Company has started application for a corresponding U.S. patent. With the granting of this new patent Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. now holds a total of 8 patents, 7 of which are China patents and the other one a U.S. patent, all in the area of battery technologies.
The in-house R&D team in joint efforts with experts from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) have worked hard on this project before they passed the test to make this technology ready for commercialization. Compared to any other lithium ion battery technologies, the nano material batteries will have a greater power capacity, longer cycle life and significantly shorter re-charge time; therefore it enjoys a great potential for application in powering electric vehicles. The Company believes this patent represents a technology breakthrough in step with the industrial trend. When it is commercialized, it will also have a great potential in market shares.
"This new patent," according to Mr. Zhiguo Fu, Chairman & CEO, "will give us an edge in our effort to address the electric vehicle market in addition to our PLI battery technologies."

company has some money now and could really make some moves - and not just in the nano-battery area.
Can't discount the potential for hype either - not that I'm one to give that a primary consideration when purchase - but it does play a role here with the nano-alternative energy slant. Big NEWS in either could draw lots of momo and dream chasers.

Lifeway acquired Helios Nutrition, a top competitor and producer of organic kefir, in late July for $3.8 million in cash and stock.
Announced increased distribution in October 2006 – very little market penetration to date – product could/should catch on and be distributed nationwide – why not worldwide. The sales potential is essentially limitless.
It's got a monopoly on Kefir - a yogurt alternative that has significantly more health benefits via pro-biotics.
Most people are aware of the need to replenish the body with the good bugs after using anti-biotics, doctors recommend it and if you've ever had kids, there can be serious consequences if these good bugs aren't replenished. It's one of the main reasons why yogurt is popular. Kefir taste is equal or better and the benefits are better = market potential as big as yogurt or better - which is eaten worldwide.
Many of the containers advertise that the company trades on the Nasdaq under LWAY.
Kefir Info:
Kefir is a creamy, yogurt-like drink, available in 12 flavors at supermarkets nationwide, including Whole Foods and Wild Oats. The company's products also include its Drinkable Yogurt and Farmer's Cheese brands, along with Basics Plus dietary supplements. Last year Lifeway launched ProBugs, an organic kefir line aimed at children.
Kefir is a cultured, enzyme-rich food filled with friendly micro-organisms that help balance your "inner ecosystem." More nutritious and therapeutic than yogurt, it supplies complete protein, essential minerals, and valuable B vitamins.
• Kefir is used to restore the inner eco-system after antibiotic therapy.
• Kefir can be made into a delicious smoothie that kids love.
• Kefir is excellent nourishment for pregnant and nursing women, the elderly, and those with compromised immunity.
In addition to beneficial bacteria and yeast, kefir contains minerals and essential amino acids that help the body with healing and maintenance functions. The complete proteins in kefir are partially digested and therefore more easily utilized by the body. Tryptophan, one of the essential amino acids abundant in kefir, is well known for its relaxing effect on the nervous system. Because kefir also offers an abundance of calcium and magnesium, which are also important minerals for a healthy nervous system, kefir in the diet can have a particularly profound calming effect on the nerves.
Kefir's ample supply of phosphorus, the second most abundant mineral in our bodies, helps utilize carbohydrates, fats, and proteins for cell growth, maintenance and energy.
Kefir is rich in Vitamin B12, B1, and Vitamin K. It is an excellent source of biotin, a B Vitamin which aids the body's assimilation of other B Vitamins, such as folic acid, pantothenic acid, and B12. The numerous benefits of maintaining adequate B vitamin intake range from regulation of the kidneys, liver and nervous system to helping relieve skin disorders, boost energy and promote longevity.
The regular use of kefir can help relieve all intestinal disorders, promote bowel movement, reduce flatulence and create a healthier digestive system. In addition, its cleansing effect on the whole body helps to establish a balanced inner ecosystem for optimum health and longevity. Kefir can also help eliminate unhealthy food cravings by making the body more nourished and balanced. Regular use of Kefir has been shown to promote weight loss.
Better than Yogurt because:
First the cost is comparable and sometimes even cheaper than yogurt in side by side comparisons on store shelves.
Both kefir and yogurt are cultured milk products but they contain different types of beneficial bacteria. Yogurt contains transient beneficial bacteria that keep the digestive system clean and provide food for the friendly bacteria that reside there. But kefir can actually colonize the intestinal tract, a feat that yogurt cannot match.
Kefir contains several major strains of friendly bacteria not commonly found in yogurt, Lactobacillus Caucasus, Leuconostoc, Acetobacter species, and Streptococcus species.
It also contains beneficial yeasts, such as Saccharomyces kefir and Torula kefir, which dominate, control and eliminate destructive pathogenic yeasts in the body. They do so by penetrating the mucosal lining where unhealthy yeast and bacteria reside, forming a virtual SWAT team that housecleans and strengthens the intestines. Hence, the body becomes more efficient in resisting such pathogens as E. coli and intestinal parasites.
Kefir's active yeast and bacteria provide more nutritive value than yogurt by helping digest the foods that you eat and by keeping the colon environment clean and healthy.
Because the curd size of kefir is smaller than yogurt, it is also easier to digest, which makes it a particularly excellent, nutritious food for babies, invalids and the elderly, as well as a remedy for digestive disorders.

friggin LBIX - but it's way oversold now...
have the sinking feeling that just need to bail. Lightened the load a little bit - but holding most still. Not a great deal of $$$'s on, like LWAY, but enough to where it bites a little.

right at support. Next few days will be the decider. Irony is that it appears to be the best among the low cap companies in this sector. Fastest growing when compare to JSDA, FIZ, CCBEF, etc. Go figure - not turning profit appears to be overshadowing the bright outlook. Also, effect of savings may not show up even next quarter so impatience may be playing a role. Disappointing drop but the potential is stronger than ever.
Give us the needed pop here and don't break down!!
Hope that works
LBIX closed at 2.56...
on 4/17/06 and at 2.73 on 5/26/06. Any close much below either of these signals trouble - especially on higher volume. However, odds are it is well supported at these levels and both times it bounced hard off of these bottoms.
That's about where it is now - hoping for the hard bounce as technicals show it is oversold. will be surprised if goes lower, but will also dump most if it breaks down technically. Holding hard for now and may even buy more if it has some news or bounces up on big volume.

If LBIX saves overhead costs...
like they say and revs increases stay on pace - their earnings should be eye-popping going forward.
Will give them probably to mid-year to show the benefits and start down the accelerated earnings path which leads to a double digit stock price. We'll see and good luck to us.
OldPro, hang tight with LBIX. I bought after earnings, did not expect to see it dip below $3.30
This stock has really grown in the last 18 months and is on that continued path. We were flirting with $2 around this time last year, and by next year we should be in $5+ territory. I'm surprised and my shares are in the red, but I'll buy more if this goes lower.
LBIX - though giveth...
and thou taketh away. At support now. A bounce here would be great - break through to lower ground and will have to lighten some of the load.
well held tight on LBIX...
through earnings and it dropped and then closed for a small gain. Loss .04 for the quarter but had some 1 time costs and forecast huge drop in overhead costs - that coupled with the fast rising sales led to a strong outlook.
Really think this stock makes a move in 07 - plan to hold.
LBIX earnings - key point...
From PR:
"As part of our analysis, we decided to consolidate our plant operations into our Edmonton facility, where we own our land and building. We believe that we can more efficiently and effectively manage our bottling under one roof. Amongst the benefits of this change are anticipated annual seven figure reductions in overhead costs, the ability to have a greater impact on larger volumes of business by individual capital improvements and the centralizing of our corporate TrueBlue(r) 64oz production. Using our faster Vancouver equipment on our existing Edmonton lines will provide us with approximately 35% in available capacity to support the ongoing growth of our brands and customers, with the ability to add yet another line by expanding our building footprint. That change should be completed by the end of Q1 fiscal 2007."
LWAY had a double whack NEWS attack and...

sold DHBT around 3 and put the...

guess I'm a believer - picked...
up a little more - not much though. Have so much that buying in smaller increments now. Any ones catching your eye lately?
LWAY taking a hurting so far in '07
LWAY and LBIX are my 2...
favorite stocks in this category in 2007. All of these stocks have tremendous potential. Looking forward to a great 2007.
may be a good move, but...
I'm picking up little niblets of LBIX here and there. Plan on the big pounce if it drops in the 3 range - otherwise happy to slowly acquire.
Out of LBIX for now. Got out two days ago at 4.10 and moved into MESA, January is a historically shaky or flat month, so I wouldn't expect to move north of 4.10 until 2 weeks before earnings season.
JSDA and DHBT are powering ahead...
looking strong. Had a little of both at one time or another, but currently high and dry.
Goal for 2007: We need to expand our exposure for this board. I don't want this to turn into a pump&dump area, but the more input, the more exposure the real winner stocks get, the better.

Mesa Air Group signs deal to create regional Chinese airline
Friday December 22, 1:13 pm ETM/b>
Wall Street signed on as a smiling passenger to the deal in which Mesa Air Group Inc. signed a joint venture with Shenzhen Airlines to create a Chinese regional airline, and the price of Mesa stock rose by 4 percent in Friday trading.
As of early afternoon, Mesa stock was trading at $8.02, a gain of 31 cents, or 4 percent.
The deal between Phoenix-based Mesa (NASDAQ: MESA - News), announced late Thursday night (Friday in China), calls for an airline named Beijing Airlines to begin service within a year, using 50-seat regional jets on domestic routes within the People's Republic of China.

Mesa Air Group will provide pilot, maintenance and operations support and training, as well as the sourcing of aircraft.

- BusinessWire
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Dec 21, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hauppauge Digital, Inc. (HAUP) , a leading developer of digital video TV and data broadcast receiver products for personal computers, today reported financial results for the fourth fiscal quarter and year ended September 30, 2006.
FOURTH QUARTER RESULTS
Net sales were $22.2 million for the fourth quarter compared to $15.4 million for the previous year's fourth quarter, an increase of approximately 44%. Growth in North American, European and Asian sales contributed to the sales increase.
In the fourth fiscal quarter of 2006, the Company recorded net income of $50,920 which included charges for year-end incentives and stock compensation. The Company adopted the provisions of SFAS No. 123R Share Based Payments on October 1, 2005, and for the fiscal fourth quarter of 2006 we recorded $81,516 in stock compensation expense. There was no stock compensation expense recorded in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2005. This compares with a net loss of $864,371 for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2005. Net income per share for the fourth quarter was $0.01 on a basic and diluted basis compared to a net loss per share of $0.09 on a basic and diluted basis for the prior year fourth fiscal quarter. The fourth quarter gross profit percentage of 21.66% remained relatively consistent when compared to the gross profit percentage of 21.71% for the previous year's fourth fiscal quarter.
Selling, General and Administrative expenses increased by $276,423 for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006 compared to 2005. Higher compensation expenses, year end incentives plus stock compensation expenses were the primary reasons for the increase.
FISCAL YEAR RESULTS
Net sales were $97.7 million for fiscal 2006 compared to $78.5 million for the previous year, an increase of approximately 24%. Growth in North American, European and Asian sales contributed to the sales increase.
Gross profit percentage was 20.32% compared with a gross profit of 22.76% for the previous year. A higher mix of lower gross profit products coupled with an increase in transportation costs were the items driving the gross profit percent decrease.
For the fiscal 2006 year, the Company recorded net income of $2,409,612, compared with net income of $1,386,753 for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2005. The Company adopted the provisions of SFAS No. 123R Share Based Payments on October 1, 2005, and for fiscal 2006 recorded $356,286 in stock compensation expense. There was no stock compensation expense recorded in the previous fiscal year. Net income per share was $0.25 and $0.24 on a basic and diluted basis compared to net income per share of $0.15 and $0.14 on a basic and diluted basis for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2005.
Selling, General and Administrative expenses increased by $212,572 for fiscal 2006 compared to fiscal 2005. Decreases in sales and marketing expenses offset by higher compensation expenses and year end incentives plus stock compensation expenses were the primary reasons for the increase.
DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
Ken Plotkin, Hauppauge's Chief Executive Officer, stated "We believe that our sales increase for the year was due primarily to the growing acceptance of TV as part of the PC multimedia experience, a market we serve with our WinTV-PVR, WinTV-NOVA and WinTV-HVR products.
Helping the sales increase in the quarter was growth in sales of our digital TV tuner receivers for PCs and notebooks plus sales growth of TV receivers for Media Center PCs. In addition, we saw a turnaround in European sales when compared to the previous year's fourth quarter.
During the quarter, we started shipping the WinTV-HVR-950 "stick", our hybrid dual format TV tuner for North America plus the new quad format WinTV-HVR-4000 designed for the European market. The WinTV-HVR-950 stick is a pocket sized, external TV receiver which allows for the viewing of ATSC high definition TV plus NTSC cable TV on your PC or laptop. The WinTV-HVR-4000 is Hauppauge's first product with high-definition satellite TV reception.
For the fiscal year, strong sales of our TV receivers for Media Center PCs plus sales of newly introduced digital TV receivers contributed to a 24% annual sales growth. By keeping corporate expenses under control while we increased our R&D budget, we were able to see a 74% increase in net income and also introduced a record number of new products."
