I want to put up a survey in the HCCF section, how do I go about doing it?
sorry about the double post.. any chance that this will be addressed, or are you hunkering down for more hurricane activity. ? If so.. good luck and be safe
Hey Bob,
the survey on my site
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=93
says that 39 people voted, but the votes shown only total to 31
No one seems to be able to answer. It says survey #2 but I dont recall a survey 1.. maybe the stray votes are going to the mysterious # 1??

Hey Bob, one of your surveys got public recognition.

Last paragraph.
Just added a Survey to get a feel for how many people would attend a Vegas gathering in August or November. The survey is on the Q&A board.
Another way I can use this that I've always liked is to "quote stamp" posts so that when someone writes a post, the last price for the relevant ticker is stored as a snapshot so even a year later, you can see what the stock traded at when that post was written.
I like it.
I've added a new survey and would like as many people as possible to participate in it and discuss it here.
To get to it, click "Other", then "Surveys", then go to Survey 7.
Specifically, the survey is about adding delayed quotes to Investors Hub. They would be displayed as follows:
1. In the "Board" screen for any stock-specific board that has a ticker.
2. Next to any message within such boards.
3. A separate "Search" item you can use to pull up quotes on any ticker.
I would also be able to (eventually) add portfolios if I get the quote data feed.
The survey's purpose is to find out if enough people would be willing to pay extra for the quotes for it to make sense to add them. I wouldn't be able to just include them as a benefit of subscribing, although one would have to be a subscriber (or Grandfathered) to be able to purchase the delayed-quotes option for their account.
So, go take the survey so I can see if enough people will pony up that it'll be worthwhile to pay the fee for the quote feed and let's get some discussion about it going here.

I like surveys especially if they send me coupons in the mail for filling them out :)
JR
Yup..... I already voted "NO".......banners are
not that bad....and, I even click now/then !! :)
Got make some CASH somehow !!!!!!
EZ
Good work!
Your answers weren't saved because you've previously taken this Survey.
Surveys could be fun.
Fixed.
Thanks for letting me know. And let me know if you find any other way to do it. It's pretty unlikely.
that way I can make sure each person only votes once.
FYI,
So far, I have found two different ways to vote more than once with the same user log-in. I experimented on the "What to do with Bob" survey so as not to skew the real surveys.
I just took a couple of your surveys.
A suggestion for your demographics survey:
Under "Education," the only choice for a doctorate level degree is "PhD," which stands for Doctor of Philosophy. I selected that option as closest to my JD (Doctor of Laws). There are several other doctorate level degrees in other areas such as medicine - MD or DO, psychology - PsyD, Education - EdD, etc.
To avoid confusion, I suggest replacing "PHD" with "Doctorate."
Thanks,
Quahog
The annoyance factor is why we just plain don't do popunders here.
I take it you've seen the new survey asking whether or not we should do away with all advertising on iHub?
AOL drops pop-up ads
Had projected $30 million in 2003 revenue from pop-ups
ASSOCIATED PRESS
WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 — Pop-up advertising from outside merchants will disappear from America Online as the company attempts to regain the affections of its 35 million subscribers by minimizing the annoying screens.
EZ
I've added a 1-question survey about the possibility of war with Iraq.

I need to fix the CSS problem (it uses the defaults) upon completion of the survey and also make it so that "View Results" isn't clickable until you've completed the survey.
Some of these surveys may get enough of a life of their own to warrant their own boards?
Are the surveys open to free members as well?
Yes they are. They only need to be registered, that way I can make sure each person only votes once.
Let's see if the board gets some momentum then do the spotlight if it does.
Just to get things started and to see what kind of interest we have in this, I suggest we add this board to the home page spotlight and do a survey on the Iraq war question.
I also noticed that this board is in a Free Zone. Good move. Are the surveys open to free members as well?
What kind of surveys shall we add? The survey engine was written more for the users than for me and Matt.
So, if you've got a question you'd like to submit to the community as a poll, let's hear it.
