Ghanaian, U.S. Universities Collaborate on Solar Energy Projects
Schools focus on sharing knowledge and building intercultural skills

Littleton, Colorado — Mechanical engineering students in Ghana and the United States are designing and building inexpensive solar-powered water heaters made with tire inner tubes, rubber sheets and other locally available African materials.
Their work is supported in part by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in its People, Prosperity and the Planet (P3) national design competition. (See “U.S. College Students Offer Innovations in Global Sustainability.”)
The effort builds on years of partnership between Minnesota State University – Mankato (MSU) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana on shared projects and faculty interaction. This spring, MSU celebrated its relationship with KNUST with lectures and activities focusing on Ghana.
In villages of developing countries such as Ghana, access to hot water is limited. Home water heaters are expensive to own and operate. Typically, wood is burned to heat water, which contributes to air pollution, deforestation and health hazards, Saeed Moaveni, MSU professor, told America.gov.
Students from both colleges are working together to compare different designs for solar-powered water heaters, looking for high efficiency, low cost, ease of assembly and use of local materials.
“The hot water heaters use solar energy to heat 50 gallons [190 liters] of water to 120 degrees in a matter of hours, which replaces burning three to four pounds [1.36 to 1.8 kilograms] of firewood and eliminates 1 pound [0.45 kilograms] of CO2 emission,” MSU student Chris Esser said.
Heated water then can be used for grooming, bathing and cleaning. The system also can heat indoor air, such as in a greenhouse to grow food in winter months in colder African climates.
In February 2009, three MSU students will travel to Ghana to test the solar collectors. “The trip will be a great opportunity to experience engineering from a different point of view, removing the emphasis on economic gain,” said MSU student Mike Peterson.
MSU students also received an EPA award to study the feasibility of producing low-wattage electricity from a solar chimney, a structure that funnels air heated by solar energy through a turbine in a central tower.
“We are verifying the feasibility of small-scale chimneys that could produce power for areas completely off the power grid,” said MSU student Derek Gramstad.

So Alfred, did you check the grammatical structure of YOUR comment? I see a few rough patches. Conversely, it seems like Actsolar is mostly compliant with the English vernacular.
Regardless of proper grammar use, this is an interesting technology. My company installs commercial PV systems that are routinely plagued by shade and string-level component power fluctuations. And we are very diligent with shade mitigation design. The root causes of these problems are difficult, if not impossible, to detect. In fact, we often loose them in the noise of multiple strings connected in parallel. We know there's more power to harvest from an array and hopefully this is the vehicle that delivers it. Technically, it makes sense. If it works, I'm guessing there will be many followers.
Wow, that's soooo dumb. I guess the whole purpose for the massive RS was to screw any large TMXU holders who were out there.
Geee... let's see... let's reverse split the current shareholders into oblivion, then give shares to a market maker to sell for peanuts because there's no float.
The sad thing is that with a smaller RS, I would have invested in more of their companies. Now, I'm never touching their companies again.
I think they sold them to a market maker so they would have a float and the stock would trade.
That is strange.
The 600 shares are trades that I expected. What I didn't expect was 14,500 shares (29mil pre-rs) traded at .085. Who had that amount of shares (not us, only insiders), and why would they let them go for .085?
According to this link of trades for today it shows $1250 worth of sells at .085, $2400 worth of buys at $4.00...strange thing is the 600 shares of $4.00 buys printed out of sequence at 5:00pm

No idea what will happen. I didn't like seeing the large trade this morning and it doesn't look good.
Any idea what's going to happen here?
I've lost 99.9% of my investment.
The bid dropped a while ago. Nobody was going to pay the ask of 101, so somebody finally sold at the bid of .085.
what happened to $10.50?
Adjusted for the split, that is 29million shares. That has to be an insider sale as the float pre-rs was not that big. Or the printing press has started.
Believe it or not it happens pretty often. Dont know if MMs do it or someone trying to do a paint but they do it.
Yes, that was like a gift! I was very grateful!
Wow you lucky dog! Got to love when Big RS com and you sit on the ask and it actually works! I got 900 bucks on a RS round up stock once with 100 shares.
Nobody....
I got my shares today, and now the bid is .04. wooo hooo. It'll cost me more to sell my shares than they're worth.
Who's crazy enough to pay the current ask price for this POS
Still waiting on my shares... and it looks like somebody took out the bid today... yuck.
SOLD MY SHARES!!! Sold 110 at 10.50. I had expected to lose 99% of my $$, but I only lost half. I am very grateful, and I'm outta here!!!
Goog luck to you all, maybe it will run - I hope so, you all should get a break like I just did - actually I hope you do even better!!
no. and no. what you wrote, it is what it is. have a great day.
I'm hoping RM's prediction comes to pass here myself. We shall see.

I'm thinking anyone averaged in under a penny will do very, very well with this one. They can take this as high as they want with only 6000 post split shares not owned by insiders. They get the stock up to $30-$40 or higher makes it a lot easier for them to do a private placement which is where their money comes from imho....Tried all day for some cheap ones on the bid so far got none.
MEEE TOOO !!!! I smell a gigantic printing press, after a very brief run-up to pull in some unsuspecting folks.
Here's a company profile:

And IR's presentation from Liviakis's web-site:

Personnally, I'm looking for an exit.
Well....what do you expect after a 2001 to 1, RS, LOL. The important question is what do these people have, that will make the share price go up. I don't think they have anything and folks will be selling, if nothing good shows up soon and I mean REAL soon
Pinksheets has been updated - bid today 10.50 not too shabby.

Digging up year old posts and blaming others for your current losses? That's pathetic. Were you really buying this based on that old DD? If you were you deserved what you got imo.
All we can do now is hope for the best.

TMXU UPDATE!
Ok folks got an interesting turn of events here. I got a hold of the new attorney Blair Krueger, asked him if he could give me the current status on TMXU. He told me that he represents venture capitalists who are acquiring TMXU but he could not disclose who they were for reasons of attorney/client privilege. I asked if he could at least disclose what sector of business they were planning on merging into the TMXU shell. He corrected me and said that TMXU was NOT a shell. I repeat NOT A SHELL!
I questioned him repeatedly, as you can imagine I was stunned, and I was told TMXU was 'very much an active company and always has been' (in a tone that led me to believe the business was substantial) and that his clients, the venture capitalists, were acquring TMXU and it's business operations. When I queried for more information I was told his client would reveal to the TMXU shareholders with a public annoucement when they are ready to (I got the feeling that was in the near future) and that he couldn't tell me anything more as that would be insider info.
As you could imagine I was more then a little surprised by this info. I went back and read the SEC filings on Tmex USA, did some general digging on Cooper Lee the CEO, and unraveled a probable/possible MONSTA play in the making here!
As most TMXU players are aware, we have great sharestructure, BIG $$$$ investment capital here, Cagan McCafee, Brian Sherer and Blair Krueger and now this revelation as it was described to me by the attorney.
Blair Krueger openly disclosed this info to me as a shareholder, so after careful consideration I dont see the harm in disclosing it to you all.
I will post what I have found to date on the company.
I doubt you could be classified as a pumper LOL - all I found was your 3/29/08 post which was some good DD you shared. That isn't pumping - that was the kind of factual reporting for which I am always grateful. IMO anyone who steps up like you did just now is OK in my book!
TMXU looked good to me also... so I guess I should just be quiet (I probably was whining without realizing it), collect my $1.52 (or whatever the value is LOL) by selling my shares LOL, and move on.
I'll take some of the heat on that one.... The Cagan and McAfee deals all looked really good. This one is way outside their normal mode of operation... or, their previous mode of operation.
I don't remember, but I do remember someone pumping this. When I get some time I guess I should do some DD....I was just busy and trying to see if anyone remembered.
When did anyone pump this?
Wish I could remember who pumped this....not to complain, as I am responsible for my own actions.....but to avoid any future recommendations by him/her/them.
All the usual suspects are there. Including Liviakis as IR who I don't care to talk to after the beating I took on TWLO. Good luck to anybody that may have a chance to make some money here. I'm so far under, I'm just hoping to recover some of my losses.
Sucks, says it better.
Neither did I... and it turns out to be a pinksheets filer. Not even an SEC filing company.
I did not think this would turn out as badly as it did
So they added 14.9 mil shares post RS. Pre-RS equivelant of 29.8 billion shares....

no problem. best of luck.
Thanks for the info.
I was one of the investors that got the proxy statement from Mark Smith back in June of 06 talking about a 1-10 RS. 2 and 1/2 years later, and we've got this crap...
Atleast the wait is finally over.

R/S should be coming soon.
I wonder if there is something in the "Spendulus" bill that would benefit a environmental company to merge into this shell? Can the wait be about this?
They obviously saw the 140,000 share float that would have remained with a 100 to 1 reverse split as too much of an obstacle. I was expecting no larger split than that.
This definitely is about self dealing. They are in this to make as much as possible. As far as the shareholders of the TMXU shell, I think their attitude is that they don't have any fiduciary responsibility to shareholders from the previous company.
If you look at what happened to PFAP's share price, you can see how they might have reached the conclusion that they needed to reduce the float drastically if they cared about the share price of their future endeavors.
totally agree, or like breaching their fiduciary duty to each of us by not even considering alternative deals (could have meant alot less dilution to each of us!)
some also view this as self dealing
