Telemedicus Signs LOI to Buy the 'My Healthy Access' Clinics Located in Wal-Mart Stores Business Wire "US Press Releases "
HOUSTON --(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Telemedicus, Inc. (OTC:TMDI), has signed a Letter of Intent to purchase My Healthy Access, Inc. , which operates mini-medical clinics in Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) stores.
"My Healthy Access" clinics provide care for episodic non-life-threatening medical conditions. A Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides care with physician oversight. The clinics were first installed into Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) stores in 2006.
"The acquisition of these health clinics opens new markets for the Telemedicus DREAMS(TM) technology," Mr. Thomas Cloud, CEO of Telemedicus, explained. "My Healthy Access clinics provide greater access to convenient, quality and affordable healthcare for nonemergency episodic conditions."
The Telemedicus' DREAMS(TM) technology will allow doctors to virtually see and direct treatment of patients through an array of monitoring devices and high-definition video that transmits the patient's data in real time.
This technology makes it possible to expand the number of medical specialties available and increases the number of patients that can be seen in the clinics.

Intrepid Announces New Strategy

Copyright Business Wire 2007
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Intrepid Holdings, Inc. (OTCBB:ITPD) announced today that it intends to expand its "My" branded clinic operations in retail pharmacy, retail grocery and free standing locations. Intrepid is evaluating its clinics in big box mass merchandise retailers to determine if they continue to fit in the new direction of the company's business.
"Our goal is to provide quality convenient and affordable healthcare to our patients while providing the opportunity for our company to be profitable and sustainable," stated Toney Means, President of Intrepid and CEO of the Clinic Group. "We believe that we have come to understand some of the significant nuances of the retail clinic business that allow for our profitability goals to be met in our chosen markets. Additionally, we believe we have determined the best clinic models and venues for our company to continue sustainable long term growth while reaching profitability in a reasonable time frame and maximizing our shareholder value," added Means.
After operating clinics for over a year the company believes it has gained an understanding of its target market and the nuances of the retail clinic industry. Intrepid believes that the smaller footprint retail clinics in its chosen venues offer it a greater savings in operations and a greater opportunity to become profitable more quickly
Action good last few days. Is there hope that good news are coming?
Sold out today at .115
Stock still struggles for any momentum up,probably heading lower.
Chart put in a nice doji today. Hope for a little green tommorrow to confirm at least a short term bottom.
Picked up 20K shares today at .085 and .09, classic reversal formation in chart. Last 10Q shows OS at 52M. Could not find
any significant reason for the big selloff other than technicals.

A blurb, in the recent 10K, mentions a master lease agreement w/ Wal-Mart:
"An absolutely critical component of our business strategy calls for us to launch mini health clinics that will be located inside the stores of established mass merchandise and grocery retailers. We recently signed a master lease agreement with Wal-Mart whereby we will operate mini health clinics in Wal-Mart stores. We have no prior experience in opening or operating such clinics, and there can be no assurance that these clinics will be successful. Moreover, there can be no assurance that we will be able to open any additional clinics with Wal-Mart or with anyone else. If the mini health clinic component of our business strategy is unsuccessful, our business, financial condition and results of operations will be severely impaired."
and a recent Reuters PR, Tue Apr 24, 2007 4:55pm ET, mentions: Wal-Mart to open 400 in-store clinics
"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said on Tuesday that it will contract with local hospitals and other organizations to open as many as 400 in-store health clinics in the next two to three years. Should current market forces continue, the world's largest retailer said up to 2,000 clinics could be in Wal-Mart stores over the next five to seven years..."
CNBC just announced that the instore clinics at walmart are going to be discussed shortly, mentioned Revolution Health, will listen to see if they mention Intrepid. if you can tune in, do so.
Todays news mentioned a grand opening today. Is this the 2nd or 3rd location?
This stock is slowly being accumulated. Long and strong on this one.
It was on the TV..I was watching it. OUCH...! I didn't here your ITPD mentioned, but they did a whole story on health care clinics in walmart - the pros and cons.
How do you know? when?
Hey - I think dateline is doing a story on you guys...health care clinics in Wallmart.
I agree it needs more volume. The co. also needs to begin to show more revenue generated from the Prescription Business. I too would like to know how many clinic(s) and how they plan to fund. Only play what you can afford to loose. I just think this looks stronger than the last WalMart announcement (LOI). I tried to call last Friday and Theodis Ware (713) 278-1990
was at offsite mtgs. all day. I will attempt to call tomorrow. Others may want to do the same. At this pt., I'm digging for info myself.
From the 10K here's info for RX's
http://edgar.brand.edgar-online.com/fetchFilingFrameset.aspx?FilingID=4600452&Type=HTML
One potential source of revenue for us is related to new Federal Medicare regulations which require that Medicare prescriptions be generated electronically. These regulations took effect in January 2006 and are required to be fully implemented by 2009. We have formed a strategic partnership with VipMedRx, Inc., (VMRx), which provides e-prescription software to doctors. The VMRx software package provides drug cross-checking, access to patient records and the ability for a patient to request that his or her medicine be delivered to the home or office. When the patient requests home or office delivery, RxFS will be offered as the preferred pharmacy. Upon receipt of an order, we will fill the prescription and deliver it to the patient.
VMRx has initiated a relationship with the NMA, a national organization of 22,000 minority doctors who have elected to retain VMRx as their preferred vendor of e-prescription solutions. The majority of these doctors are general practitioners and internists whose practices are in urban communities. We believe that our affiliation with this organization will lead to an increase in prescriptions being filled by RxFS. We project market penetration of 10% within this group of doctors by the end of 2007.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another potentially significant relationship for RxFS is The National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), an organization dedicated to the economic support of African American communities with 190 affiliated local chapters throughout the nation and dedicated to economically empowering and sustaining African American communities through entrepreneurship and capitalistic activity within the United States. The NBCC represents approximately 95,000 minority-owned businesses and provides an advocacy that reaches over 1 million small businesses. The NBCC is a nonprofit organization.
RxFS anticipates it will be selected to provide the pharmacy benefit management for the NBCC healthcare program covering 280,000 members. When implemented this program will offer healthcare benefits, mail order prescription benefits, and a retail pharmacy network of over 53,000 U.S. pharmacies. Acting as the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) for this organization, RxFS could potentially manage over 14,000 retail prescriptions per day and fill over 1,000 mail order prescriptions per day.
Yes, it is looking promising.
But, I want to see VOLUME !!!
Gotta keep in mind.......this is a pinky crapshoot here.
I'd like to get a peek at the Walmart contract and where the $$ are comming from. This ain't gonna be cheap.
JMHO
Good luck all.
New Base in the .40's has formed IMO. Once the clinic(s) begin to open we'll head higher. I though the .30's would be back by now but I think this time people are holding on.
Just checking in to see what people think at this point..?
YIKES !
Lost 50% of my shares @ 45 with a forgotten GTC sell on Friday.
Made a profit, yes, but wish I had followed this one a little better. Looks like Monday will be interesting.
Now I will follow this one. Most of my shares are now free.....
Just a thought - Will they get any funding from GOVT for these clinics?

I am sure we will hear more details soon from the company! They had to get this signed first!
Most likley just a few stores at a time then they will add more. This does have good potential over the long term. I like the concept and Americans do love Walmart! lol! I am not a fan myself!
Cheers!
It looks like I should have been a little more patient with this one but I still see very few details. How many stores? Where is the working capital coming from?
