Good idea, but I think only one solution is attack decision of Japan district court.
If you check JAL FAQ
http://www.jal.com/en/ir/info2010_0119_3.html
they will not give us any satisfaction.
See Q4-A4
No. Any shareholder will not assume any more liabilities than the amount of money which they have invested and therefore will not assume any liabilities of more than a 100% capital reduction based on a shareholder’s position, such as requiring an additional payment.
The reorganisation plan has to be canceled. It is only one way.
I'm sad they just cancel shares without any good reason because
"JAL made operating profit totaling over 140 billion yen ($1.7 billion) from April to November in 2010, according to a document submitted to the Tokyo District Court."
Are any people willing to file a petition before tokyo district court regarding cancelling JALFQ.
Hello Francois,
for more info please check JALSQ page
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=16957
It is necessary to make some action against this canceling...
I'm a French stockholder. My 3K JALFQ stocks dissapeared too.
I only found topics on this place, so I'll reply here with what i've (hardly) found.
Latest JAL statement:
2010.11.30 * Approval of the Reorganization Plan
Reorganizational Plan: (submitted in august 10)
http://www.jal.co.jp/en/other/info2010_0831.html
See POINT 2:
"Stock owned by JALS shareholders will be acquired gratis, and all treasury shares will be cancelled, and JALI will reduce stated capital and capital reserves to zero."
...So they took everything with court approbation.
A "100% reduction warning" was also in the FAQ on their investor page regarding the delisting, so it was planned BEFORE august !
Can't explain the jump to 0.022 the last day though...
i see that...strange.
also I checked SEC page of Exchange Delistings and I can not find any mention about delisting of JALFQ
http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?company=&match=&CIK=jalfq&filenum=&State=&Country=&SIC=&owner=exclude&Find=Find+Companies&action=getcompany
for example if you check VIONQ which were canceled at the April, you can see all documents for this event...
http://www.sec.gov/cgi-bin/browse-edgar?action=getcompany&CIK=0000944522&type=&dateb=&owner=exclude&start=0&count=40
thank you very much dibbley i'll check it out!

mmmm...privately placing stock w/ top Executives...i wonder... keep me posted if you find out anything more. Thanks again.
also interesting message:
"Dec 29, 2010 (MENA News from Al-Bawaba via COMTEX) -- TOKYO, Dec. 28 -- Japan Airlines Corp is privately placing stock with its top executives as the bankrupt carrier looks to boost accountability and reduce its tax burden, the Nikkei business daily reported. About two dozen top executives, including President Masaru Onishi, took part in a recent offering, with each investing several hundred thousand yen"...

I try to find some statement about shares cancel, but I didnt find anything...
http://www.jal.com/en/ir/finance/tsc_filings.html
http://www.adrbnymellon.com/dr_profile_news.jsp?cusip=471040105
exactly ! it is really mysterious share :-O
if shares were cancelled then why did this go up 120% on Friday? i don't get it.
Yes I hate too when shares are cancelled. You mentioned "traditional Japanese respect for the shareholder" - do you mean we get some satisfaction during relisting of JP3705400004 ?
In last two days we can see very interesting thing - JP3705400004 were trade on 30 and on 31 of december - in total amount 34.14 k of shares - very interesting after 20 days of inactivity.
And how can be trade shares wich were canceled?
Did anyone try to contact JAL for shareholders information on irdesk@jal.com ? I'm nervous because there wasn't any official PR from JAL...
GLTA
This things getting ready to move in the next few weeks.
Any disruption with Korean air should be positive for
jalfq business. IMO
also my shares JP3705400004 were canceled on 17 of december.
I can not belive that company with financial profit can easily delete all shares! in 2012 will shares relisted, but common shareholders will not get nothing !
Shocking, I thought something Q was going on.
Mine is gone too, due to bankruptcy....!
I hate it when that happens. :) Mine is gone too. Hope it was beer money we are gambling with. I think ST has pulled this from my positions list before and it mysteriously reappeared. At this point I am only hoping the traditional Japanese respect for the shareholder is not breeched. We could us some of that in this country I opine. Burr
My shares just disappeared today!!!
Has anyone seen any news that Japan Airlines cancelled shares. So far, I've seen no such mention.
Yes, all of my money is gone. What I want to know is why do other people still have this stock in their account such as yourself. All Scotturd told me was that the stock was delivered out b/c it was deemed worthless. I'm gonna have to contact them again and ask why other investors still have their shares.
Hi Mutz, so did you loose your money in JALFQ???!!!
Fortunately I still have my shares on it.
Where we can ask info about this??
Don't know. I saw that my shares were gone and my account history said "stock delivered out". So I contacted Scottrade and they told me the stock was delivered out b/c it was deemed worthless. Who the hell knows...LOL.
I still have my JALFQ shares in my Fidelity account.
Looks like JALFQ has been deemed worthless. Scottrade removed it from my account on 12/1/10. Has this happened to anyone else yet?
Japan Airlines Corp. JALSQ
Pink Sheets Current / Sponsored ADR - Ratio: 1 ADS = 5 Ordinary
JALSQ is an ADR,
An American Depositary Receipt (abbreviated ADR) represents ownership in the shares of a non-U.S. company that trades in U.S. financial markets. The stock of many non-US companies trade on US stock exchanges through the use of ADRs. ADRs enable U.S. investors to buy shares in foreign companies without the hazards or inconveniences of cross-border & cross-currency transactions. ADRs carry prices in US dollars, pay dividends in US dollars, and can be traded like the shares of US-based companies.
Each ADR is issued by a U.S. depository bank and can represent a fraction of a share, a single share, or multiple shares of the foreign stock. An owner of an ADR has the right to obtain the foreign stock it represents, but US investors usually find it more convenient simply to own the ADR. The price of an ADR often tracks the price of the foreign stock in its home market, adjusted for the ratio of ADRs to foreign company shares. In the case of companies incorporated in the United Kingdom, creation of ADRs attracts a 1.5% stamp duty reserve tax (SDRT) charge by the UK government.

Does anybody can explain me the difference between JALFQ and JALSQ?
And what would happend if JAL is re-listed again in Tokyo Stock Exchange? What will happend in that case with the shares one can have in JALSQ/JALFQ?
Thanks,
Now is 22% up!!!
Waiting here myself. In at .02. I feel pretty good about that price and some days lately i have noticed nice chunks being bought at the ask which takes us up 50% but get knocked down by a small sell. IMO, this is shaping up. Of course with it being BK this can fly or die. Im willing to take that chance from the DD i gathered. IMO, this BK stock is in a better position than most!! :)) What do you think? I can care less about a pump here only real talk please. Thank you
JAL stock will take off soon...
yes, i hope so and I have same opinion.
i bought 150k of JP3705400004 for about .015€ and I believe in grow.
Boss of JAL have a lot of experiences and in next year we see results.
this stock is going back to dollarland when economy starts recovering... who knows it might take year or decade but JAL will survive regrow IMO
wau, it is roller coaster with interesting volumes. somebody knows whats happends? and what will be next? i had red rellisting in Tokyo should be at the end of 2012...
Did that get released somewhere?
If the restructuring works, this is golden. Could eventually pop back to 2.10.
Reward far outweighs the risk IMO
they have submitted the restructuring plan to major banks today.
Well, almost there, time to see if they can restructure and pull themselves out of the fire.
Waiting and watching.

Japan Airlines Likely To Need Y100 Bln More In Financial Aid - Source
TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Japan Airlines Corp. will likely need another Y100 billion in financial aid as it now expects larger writedown losses from asset valuations, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.
The airline, which filed for bankruptcy protection in January, is preparing to submit a restructuring plan to the Tokyo District Court. But JAL and a state-backed turnaround body--the Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corp. of Japan--are "reassessing the value of assets such as fleets," the person said.
JAL last month postponed by two months the submission of its restructuring plan to the court, from an initial end-of-June deadline, as it seeks to flesh out the details of the plan.

Japan Airlines Submits Antitrust Immunity Application for a Tighter Cooperation with American Airlin
18/06/2010 12:14 (03:36 minutes ago)
The FINANCIAL -- On June 18, Japan Airlines (JAL) applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan, seeking antitrust immunity with American Airlines (AA) so that both members of the oneworld(R)Alliancemay enter a Joint Business Agreement (JBA) and cooperate more closely on the operations of flights between North America and Asia.
“We are excited to have taken another defining step towards forging a closer relationship with our partner American Airlines so that we can combine strengths to offer our customers travelling on trans-Pacific routes unprecedented convenience and flexibility.” said Japan Airlines President and Chief Operating Officer Masaru Onishi of what will be Japan’s first ever antitrust immunity application. “With the immunity, we can greatly enhance competition in this region of growth, including at the strategically-located Haneda Airport which will soon commence scheduled international flights. This is an opportune time for both airlines to retain existing customers, attract new travellers and to lift revenue.”
Japan Airlines and American Airlines have jointly submitted the application for antitrust immunity with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on February 12, 2010.
“We very much look forward to working even more closely with our valued oneworld partner, Japan Airlines,”said Gerard Arpey, AMR’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We appreciate the important role of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and look forward to receiving the appropriate government approvals that will allow us to provide customers with more integrated air service in one of the world’s growing aviation markets and provide benefits to both the U.S. and Japanese economies.”
Upon attaining approval from the MLIT and the U.S. DOT, Japan Airlines and American Airlines will operate as two independent legal entities working closely together to strengthen their service offerings to customers on their flights between the United States and Asia. Passengers will benefit from a more comprehensive network, expanded flight options, access to more fare levels and enhanced services while continuing to enjoy reciprocal frequent flyer accrual and redemption benefits and access to both airlines’ lounges. JAL and AA will also be able to improve their efficiencies, lower operating costs, and robustly heighten competition in the trans-Pacific aviation market.
