Home depot prices for stuff is now surprisingly high, does anyone think they threw out too much stuff over the years or not buy an extra supply?
My Best Buy just went out of business and they were selling store fixtures, tons of mobile shelving and containers for 95% off, and I finally had a use for them because buying them at retail were not worth the value of what I was hoping to store before this lucky event for my stuff in the basement.

Yesterday we had guests over for Thanksgiving and I set up a carving station for the turkey.



If you don't have a carving knife you can pick up one at Home Depot or Lowes today.

If your lawn area small enough like mine hopefully you can find a EGO mower?

That way you can keep your batteries the same.

I sure like cordless instead of gas engine.

Only gas I have now is my generator.

Finally broke down got a battery starter one.

I start it every 2 months to make sure battery stays good.

Ryobi has re-designed their mowers since I bought mine and I get tempted but still can't pull the trigger. They sure are light which I really love.

My garage door was over 30 years old and has always been problematic. The hinge that met the door was worn out and I had managed to piece it together.

I was at Costco and they had a flyer for new doors and openers with a 10% discount in the form of a Costco card. Turned out it was 15% and after a couple of quotes I went with them. There was a 2 month lead time but they showed up on time and replaced everything. I can now even open and close the door with my cellphone.

I also double dipped by charging the door on my Costco card and got an additional percentage from Costco.

It's belt driven and quiet as a church mouse. My wife and I are a couple of happy campers.

I like the Ryobi cordless drills etc but still not sure about the lawnmower.

I do like my Ego blower and weedeater however. The batteries are interchangeable so I always have them at the ready.

My wife used to take a broom to sweep off the deck and I finally got her to use the Ego blower.

I also use it to blow dry the dog after she has had a bath.

6 years ago I bought the ryobi cordless lawnmower.

Ryobi is not really what brand you want if you are using tools for a job but for the home lot of times they work fine.

Hilti & Makita is what I use for work I love them.

Back to Ryobi lawnmower.

In 6 years I've ran that mower through very tall grass in my garden area. Ran it in my ditch. Ran it in the rain which you aren't supposed to do for two reasons.

One, if you don't have battery protector down the terminals can get wet and rust.

Two, they know the batteries aren't going to last as long so in order to claim battery time they say not to run it in rain or even wet grass.

Where I live good luck with that.

So here we are 6 years later and mower still kicking butt.

So if you looking to go cordless I can tell you this has served me very well.

I'm very critical of lot of products so when one performs great I like to tell others.

Since I bought it they have new designs of course but price wise still right there in that range I bought it.

So if you considering going cordless this be great buy for you.

I've made a habit in the last year to check it every time. They normally have two clearance sections where I am in center of store on the end.

Have scored some great stuff.

Kicked myself for not doing what you said stock piling I had gone back after trying it and of course all gone. Learned my lesson.

Of course you going to lose now and than too.

I bought some stainless steal appliance spray cleaners think they were around $1.50.

Got home told the wife.

She tried one the next day just to inform me awesome from the dollar store works better. LOL!

HD has new DNA, I always stock piled stuff on their clearances, now the whole "special" section has labor intensive yellow labels to show eye popping price slashes, original price $ 9.96 now $ 9.76?
Use to buy tons of cheap supplies from Ebay but shipping costs are now eating into cheap final free shipping items.

Need to plunder a small store that did not realize all prices have to be changed and relabeled up.

BTW ............. Couple months ago if you have the commercial pro extra card they went from 60 days to 30 days before finance charges.

Citi card is who is behind them.

Once a year they will send me a bla bla bla letter how happy they are to have me as a customer.

At bottom of letter it states anything we can do to help your credit situation let us know.

So one time I called and said I'm calling about you helping me.

I normally pay it off every month but lets say I didn't one month?

I have excellent credit and citi-card still charges 27% interest.

I can get better rate down on the street corner.

They gave me the bla bla bla it's citi card not them routine.

I said no, you have control of competition amongst credit card companies your corporate suits don't give a rip just as long as your stock investors are happy.

All this we are there for you contractor crap is just that ............ CRAP!

No no, maybe some vendors did not raise prices yet.

Went to home Depot to buy a single 1 1/2 inch ceiling to floor flange (for example) was 6.50.checked, out a bunch of other stuff and double what I thought.

Well went to old SupplyHouse.com , and flange was still .89 cents..................bought my valves and no hubs and pipe fitting for 1/2 Home Depot prices and 10 items all had just 4.95 shipping charge.

In my apt. I use an A/C cooler/heater on electric, would be interesting to know if a Cadet can replace its use in the main room I use up 95% of the utility bill in the winter?

That cracks me up when products say this is going to cost you so much per day when everyone has different usage rates.

Need to look at energy consumption.

The two Cadets I bought take 1500 watts.

The new one I bought .......... 500 watts.

No noise, no fan blowing dust.

I'll be removing the cadets eventually.

Wall heaters like Cadet take 1500 watts and they got a fan so you are blowing dust around and dealing with noise.

I had already installed two Cadets and now I wish I had seen this one. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

I took a chance on buying that heater never heard of them not much info out there but I'm definitely a believer now.

For 30 years here we've heated our home with the wood stove cause I love wood heat nothing like it.

But ........... 30 years of dealing with wood I wanted to start looking at ways if my health goes bad, get hurt, the Wife is taken care of.

So a heater that works well at 500 watts to 1,500 watts for cadets I'm very happy with energy savings as well as dust and noise.

Thought one of you might be wanting one.

After our remodel going to buy some more and probably buy the hardwire ones but bought the corded for now till we figure out for sure where everything is going to go.

All the while vast majority of Doctors are nothing but glorified drug dealers.

I've asked people when is the last time you've heard your doctor place you on a drug to treat a condition and say ok, now lets form an exit strategy to get you off of that down the road.

My Wife was a CNA I'd go visit her at the places she was caring for private clients and in nursing homes.

20 bottles of drugs on their bedside table was the norm when God gave us natural herbs of all kinds so we don't need mans $$$$$$$$$$ drugs.

If I were you I'd price them both. You will definitely get more room with a complete walk in and eliminate the slope in the tub which sometimes slips me up.

We just got done getting rid of our tub turning it into a shower as we never used the tub.

I've seen those adds and hope I'm able to see one of those some day as I'm curious how it is designed to stop water leaking.

I do see what you're talking about but I'm leaning toward the complete remodel. Getting rid of the old tub will give you more room for the shower and I can live with the glass door. I like the look and the grab handles and a seat are neat for when I get really old. lol.

Same here, have 2 full bath/shower units and never use the master as a tub. Didn't want to get into plumbing reconfig. and the "Door" or the "Convertible" model would give you best of both worlds if you ever wanted dual usage of the tub. Another plus for me is no shower doors,I hate cleaning shower doors seems impossible. Using a curtain/liner with reduced "open frontage" for overspray or leaks with only a 2' opening.

I've been thinking of it for the guest bathroom. We have a tub shower combo but we never take baths in it since the master has the garden tub.

It is a pain at even 70 to take the high step over the tub so why bother having the damn thing to begin with.

They have been running adds for a full walk in shower no cutting the tub. That is the direction I'm looking at.

My wife has Parkinsons and it's hard for her to get into and out of the tub/shower. She's been wanting a $3k-4k walk-in conversion.
I've read quite a bit into this and nothing but 100's of rave reviews.Looks simple to install also. Hell,if it's that easy I may take on as a hobby installer for the community...lol.

If it works as advertised they are saying500 watts compared to most wall heaters that use 1,500 watts.

BTW ........... Take can of silicone spray and spray it on a rag then wipe down your car door gaskets. Stops your doors from freezing shut.

LOL. Now you tell me. That is a keeper. I had 3 doors freeze on me and had to get a screw driver out to gently pop the doors on 3 different cars.

For NC the powder snow was a freak accident.

Your link reminds me of what I did this year.

I buy the 10x100 4 mill plastic for work and around here. So I'll cut a length that goes over the back of my rav4 and over the head lights.

Being 10ft wide it makes it over the side windows.

Easy to pull off. Saves lot of time as our snow is normally heavy.

BTW ........... Take can of silicone spray and spray it on a rag then wipe down your car door gaskets. Stops your doors from freezing shut.

Oh, and I use it on my snow shovel stops the snow from sticking on it.
