We don't get powder here to often but when we do yep I bring it out.

Your link reminds me of what I did this year.

I buy the 10x100 4 mill plastic for work and around here. So I'll cut a length that goes over the back of my rav4 and over the head lights.

Being 10ft wide it makes it over the side windows.

Easy to pull off. Saves lot of time as our snow is normally heavy.

BTW ........... Take can of silicone spray and spray it on a rag then wipe down your car door gaskets. Stops your doors from freezing shut.

Can't believe all these years I didn't know this just found out this winter. Works great.

Oh, and I use it on my snow shovel stops the snow from sticking on it.
