RSI looks good...about the same as when we were at the $7 range...50ma has moved through the 200ma and the accumulation is good...with news there could be a nice breakout. Heard any whisper numbers on the 1st qtr earnings? comes out 21 Feb following the close. Could see a nice run up.
I have heard nothing about a buyout.
But, who knows?
Yea, I started to buy when it went into the 30s but waited. I'm not a chaser. I will hold out in case it comes back to me, maybe after earnings. Otherwise, good luck to the holders.
Looks like I missed the boat. Keepin my eye on it.
Wish I would have held on longer. Lost out on .30 more cents, but how do you know when it tops out. I hope it goes back down into the low $4s and I will be back in.
Way to trade. The trend is good, but the periodic consolidation is even better and makes the trend sustainable. And tradable.
Out @ 4.60. If if does dip back into low $4 I will buy again.
Any thoughts on the volume spike today just before 1 pm?
I don't know how long I will hold. I will have to see how it performs
Great buy, cracity. Hav eyou noticed that the Short Interest has come down?

BRCD is up 35% in the past six weeks. There will be a consolidation in this industry. Patents have value, even if business plan execution is lacking. Watch BRCD possible getting a suitor.
I'm in. Ridiculous that these stocks are dropping 50% on missed revenues. They are still earning $ right? Unlike many other companies that are posting losses.
BRCD $3.29 after missing:
"The San Jose networking equipment maker (NASDAQ:BRCD) now expects to post revenue between $500 million and $505 million for the three months ended July 30. It now expects earnings on an adjusted basis to be between 8 cents and 9 cents a share.
Brocade previously forecast adjusted quarterly profit to be between 10 cents and 11 cents a share on revenue between $540 million and $560 million.
The company last year posted a profit of 5 cents a share on revenue of $503.5 million.
The company will formally announce results Aug. 18."

Personally, i doubt it, but with a larger market correction, it's definitely possible. Seems like the most recent gap will be it considering the low volume. Hopefully it closes above this $6.10 area, would really make the chart look primed for another run.
Brocade Enables the Channel to Deliver Ethernet Fabric Technologies
New Specializations and Educational Offerings Help Channel Partners Capitalize on Virtualization and Cloud Opportunities
January 26, 2011, 8:00 am EST
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Brocade (Nasdaq:BRCD - News) today announced that it has introduced several significant enhancements to the Brocade® Alliance Partner Network (APN) program and Global Education offerings to help channel partners capitalize on Ethernet fabric-based technology opportunities. These partner investments include the introduction of the Virtualized Fabric Partner Specialization and the new Brocade Certified Ethernet Fabric Engineer (BCEFE) Certification designed to support partners in the delivery of Ethernet fabric technologies, including the award winning Brocade VDX™ 6720 Data Center Switch.
The Virtualized Fabric Partner Specialization is a technology-centric designation for partners who possess a deep understanding of design, implementation and maintenance of Ethernet fabric architectures. To receive this specialization, partners must be an Elite partner within the APN program and satisfy a specific set of requirements, one of which is having BCEFE-certified personnel on staff. As with other Brocade specializations, qualified partners are eligible for program benefits, ranging from pre-sales support and access to proof-of-concept labs, and can progressively apply multiple specializations to their overall rebate to receive greater rewards. Elite-level reseller partners may also leverage these specializations for participation in the Brocade Value Incentive Programs (VIPs), which are true pay-for-performance programs structured to reward and recognize partners who invest in expanding their personnel expertise and skill sets.
Recognizing the distinct skill set required for the design and deployment of Ethernet fabric-based networks, Brocade has also developed the BCEFE Certification to directly address the needs of partners who want to distinguish themselves in an increasingly competitive market. Partners who achieve the BCEFE Certification will receive training and education on a broad set of Ethernet fabric-related topics, including technology theory and concepts, Brocade VDX hardware and product features, installation, configuration, management and troubleshooting. Open to all Brocade partners and end-user customers, this new certification is an integral requirement for anyone looking to secure the Virtualized Fabric Partner Specialization.
Brocade continues to invest in channel education initiatives on a global basis to deliver world-class training, certification and accreditation opportunities. To fully support partners as they progress towards acquiring a broad range of networking skills, Brocade has also restructured its Global Education offerings by adding a wide array of coursework options and dedicated learning tracks to help partners quickly enhance their skills in regard to convergence, virtualization and cloud technologies. Brocade Global Education classes adhere to open standards-based principles, providing a level of flexibility and versatility not available from courses offered by other networking vendors.
“As part of our Brocade One™ strategy, we are continually enhancing the APN program with Quality in Partnership elements that provide partners with the necessary tools to help their customers make the transition towards highly virtualized, cloud-optimized network environments without the fear of vendor lock-in,” said Barbara Spicek, vice president of Worldwide Channels at Brocade. “The addition of the new Virtualized Fabric Partner Specialization and BCEFE Certification provides the educational background, practical know-how and technical validation that partners need to successfully deploy and manage Ethernet fabric-based solutions.”
The increased focus on private enterprise cloud environments as a critical component to business optimization has also placed emphasis on the function of Application Delivery, which is used to effectively manage and maintain data traffic patterns. To drive greater levels of partner expertise in this area, Brocade has also added the Application Delivery Partner Specialization for partners who have demonstrated proficiency associated with application load balancing and data traffic management technologies. Like the Virtualized Fabric Partner Specialization, the new Application Delivery Partner Specialization is available now.
The Brocade APN program includes four distinct partnership levels: Distributor, Elite, Premier and Select. All levels have been designed with specific requirements and benefits to help partners leverage and be rewarded for their networking product knowledge and solution support expertise. Holding up like a Champ so far ... might need to churn here a bit longer before moving higher, but i see little down-side risk with the 50- and 200-day SMAs just below where we're at. Lets see where she goes.
BRCD has filled that gap down. Chart really looking good here.

20 Beaten Up Stocks With Bullish Options Sentiment

The following is a list of underperforming stocks that options traders expect to rebound over the coming weeks. To create this list, we started with the following screen:
* Market cap > $300M
* Down over the last year
* Price below SMA20, SMA50 and SMA200
That screen resulted in a universe of about 140 stocks. We then checked the call and put open interest for each of these stocks, and sorted the list by the Put/Call ratios.
All of the stocks mentioned here have the lowest Put/Call ratios, i.e. the largest number of open call option contracts relative to put option contracts (bullish options market sentiment).
Options traders seem to think there's a possibility of a rebound in some of these names. What do you think?
We last wrote about this screen on October 19, 2010. On that day, the screen produced 20 companies. Since then, 13 out of 20 companies mentioned in that article have outperformed the S&P 500 index (a success rate of 65.00%). The screen averaged a return of 11.01% vs. an index return of 6.4%. Is Brocade Broken?
Wait! Don’t buy yet…Successful investing starts with a smart
Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.
What: Brocade Communications (Nasdaq: BRCD) shares fell 10% today after the company released earnings and weak guidance.
So what: Earnings were solid with revenue of $550 million and earnings per share of $0.14 for the quarter, both beating expectations. But investors were focused on next quarter's earnings guidance of $0.09 to $0.10 per share, well below expectations of $0.14.
Now what: The company sees risk in federal spending cuts. Brocade thinks trouble will be short-lived, but investors have their doubts, pushing shares lower almost all day long. Last quarter's earnings aren't enough for me to overlook the weak outlook for next quarter, so I've got to sit out today even given the new discount.
because of CSCO earnings and lack of anymore M&A rumors in tech. BRCD needs to focus on their balance sheet before anyone will buy them now.
