Good morning brother plugger....Its funny how sometimes we can read something that on the surface seems so simple...so to speak...but from that and the Holy Spirit prompting us...a really good discussion can come forth in our head and heart. You said....
I have this card on my desk and I see it everyday:
LORD HELP ME TO REMEMBER THAT NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME TODAY
THAT YOU AND I CAN'T HANDLE TOGETHER.
Sort of a net thing to keep in mind, we are not in this war of evil vrs good all by ourselves
There is sooooo much in Psalm 23. I read it every morning along with Matthew 6:8-13 or sometimes rather than Matthew I use Luke 11, then I go on with my coffee with God time....My prayer. list keeps getting bigger & bigger and about the only thing my mind works well at.
GOD BLESS & and remember to wear your Christian attitude today
The Actor
"I am the good shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me, 15 as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep.” ~ John 10:14-15
There was once a Shakespearean actor who was known everywhere for his one-man shows of readings and recitations from the classics. He would always end his performance with a dramatic reading of Psalm 23.
Each night, without exception, as the actor began his recitation -- "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want"... the crowd would listen attentively. Then, at the conclusion of the Psalm, they would rise in thunderous applause in appreciation of the actor's incredible ability to bring the verse to life.
But one night, just before the actor was to offer his customary recital of Psalm 23, a young man from the audience spoke up, "Sir, do you mind if tonight I recite Psalm 23?". The actor was quite taken back by this unusual request, but he allowed the young man to come forward and stand front and center on the stage to recite the Psalm, knowing that the ability of this unskilled youth would be no match for his own talent.
With a soft voice, the young man began to recite the words of the Psalm. When he was finished, there was no applause. There was no standing ovation as on other nights. All that could be heard was the sound of weeping. The audience had been so moved by the young man's recitation that every eye was full of tears.
Amazed by what he had heard, the actor said to the youth, "I don't understand. I have been performing Psalm 23 for years. I have a lifetime of experience and training - but I have never been able to move an audience as you have tonight. Tell me, what is your secret?"
The young man quietly replied, "Well sir, you might know the Psalm... but I know the Shepherd."

Amen and Amen brother plugger!
.
I tried to get rid of one of those AMENs....but could not----reckon that post deserved a double Amen
Good morning...and...a big AMEN to that!
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
Let us not forget...GOD...created the heavens and the earth and every living thing on it...God...our living and loving God...the One and only God...the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob...the great "I AM"...He is sovereign...He is in complete control. He is holding the balance of the universe in His hands. He gives us our every breath and heartbeat. Everything that happens...outside our own free will...is sent by God...or...he allows it. Nothing takes Him by surprise. Nothing is beyond His reach and control and nothing takes priority over Him! He has promised to never leave or forsake us. He loves His children with a love that we truly cant understand the breadth, length, depth, and height of it. And God really does want the best for us according to His awesome perfect will while we are living here on planet earth. And...He has also prepared a place for us that everything is going to be perfect with our home in heaven one day. So on this beautiful Wednesday morning i ask you...where is your faith and trust...is it in God "all the time"...or...just "now and then"? Do you really believe that God always has a perfect plan and purpose and do you believe this awesome promise from Romans 8:28..."And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose".....Do have a awesome and blessed day and remember...if you are a born-again believer...the war has already been won and the victory is ours!...thank you Jesus!
I Have No Regrets About My Past...My Past Is Who I Am Today...Born Again!
Rick j Sane
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5
The Mountain Mirage
“The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway.” – Proverbs 15:19
One of the greatest dangers on the mountaintop is the temptation toward complacency. We long for the heights because we imagine a certain comfort there, an ease. We falsely believe reaching the mountains means we won’t have to struggle, or even work.
Laziness is not the anecdote to turmoil. The belief that apathy is any sort of cure is as false as it is rampant in the modern world.
The Lord does not promise us comfortable circumstances. He promises to be our comfort. The difference is massive. Apathy is a fool’s goal. Meaning requires work and sacrifice and struggle. And since God wants the best for us, He does not desire for us to sit on a throne and sleep.
This is the danger of the mountaintop and the danger of living under the circumstances. When we believe an improved circumstance will bring us happiness, we will be disappointed. “More” is the pot at the end of the rainbow - you can chase it but you will never find it.
The God of comfort is with us throughout all terrains. He is not here to ease the circumstance or deliver us into apathy. He is there to be our comfort and provide the transformational peace of His Presence in every circumstance.

Father God....i ask in Jesus name that you would speak to the heart of "lakers 17" and encourage them to stop posting the obscene emojis in reply to Chartmaster here on the BIBLE board.
I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,
Matthew 12:36
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Ephesians 4:29
Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
Ephesians 5:4
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”
Matthew 15:11
What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Psalm 34:12-14
Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool.
Proverbs 19:1
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:45
But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
Colossians 3:8

Insights from Job Part Three: Adversity
"You speak as a foolish person speaks,” he told her. “Should we accept only good from God and not adversity?” Throughout all this Job did not sin in what he said." ~ Job 2:10
Life is full of adversity. We lose loved ones, get fired from jobs, suffer miscarriages, and experience rejection. The story of Job is famous in part because of the extremity of the main character’s adversity. It is this very thing that makes Job so relatable. And it is Job’s response that makes the story inspirational.
Adversities are a constant ingredient of life. We would prefer to have only easy situations, perfect settings, and good circumstances. But the fall of man has made it so that this existence, in some way or another, is going to be like Job’s.
There are times when it feels like we are brimming with adversity. When we “can’t find a win”. Life is tough. Being human is not for the faint of heart.
Just as we relate to Job’s situation, we have an opportunity to replicate his response.
Job “accepts” adversity as an opportunity to trust God. He did not go looking for adversity. But he acknowledges the reality of it and the choice he has in its midst. And he chose to live righteously.
Nothing about adversity is easy. We cannot completely avoid it. We cannot control it. What we can do is follow the example of Job and not let adversity define us. Not allow it to lead us into sin. We can see it as an opportunity for worship. A chance to trust. An invitation to be an example. A catalyst to know God by faith.

I have been shopping for a mountain cabin to get away from it all when the Gov says everybody must receive a chip in right hand or forhead to be able to buy and sell, .the mark of the beast, it's coming and already happening in europe....even our Credit Cards now have chip implants....makes me think this whole computer age is the beast, google is the beast, the main frame computers are the beast....at some point we'll need to cut the cord, and throw away the smart phones and head for the mountains! God Bless you man!
Good morning to you plugger...i reckon you must have snuck in the back door when i wasnt looking...wink....have a most awesome day brother!
"This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it"
Psalm 118:24
Good morning Ranb2khz....as believers we all look forward to the Rapture because of course as we know that is the day that all believers that have already died and are in heaven now will get their new glorified bodies...and...the living believers will be called up in their existing body and it to will be glorified! Saved from the horror of the Tribulation! However...if i die today and my spirit / soul as we know goes to be with Jesus until the Rapture happens and we get that glorified body....that is going to be a awesome time hanging out with Jesus praising God waiting for that day. Thinking it will be pretty cool to be a spirit for a period of time...wink! Im in the boat like you mentioned. God giving civilization time to repent of their sins and be saved that all that will can be spared the horrors of hell for all eternity! I sometimes say to people when they say..."Oh come Lord Jesus"....and hear me folks...i get it....but i say...hey if your fed up and tired and ready to go....maybe you should just say "Oh Lord Jesus take me home"...and i get some strange looks sometimes but i say to them....do you not know that probably 85% to 90% of the earths population of 7.6 billion is unsaved and headed to hell...(and hear me folks...there is a difference in calling ones self a christian and being born-again)......so stop focusing on yourself and the world and get out there and tell them about JESUS! Hey...we all know that believers have been hoping for the Rapture for hundreds of years...looking for Jesus to return ever sense he ascended into heaven...but look it. I was born in 1956...and in these past 68 years i wonder how many believers have said "Oh come Lord Jesus"....i got saved in 1996 when i was 40 years old and God the Father...God the Son...God the Holy Spirit helped me put 25 years of drugs and booze and that whole insane lifestyle behind me. If....the Rapture had happened between 1956 and 1996 i would be burning in hell right now....of course there will be some that get saved during the 7 years of the Tribulation...but....probably few and far between....So....the billions that are living on planet earth right now this minute....they still have a chance to repent and call upon the Lord and be saved! So yes....the Rapture will be awesome....but seeing lost souls saved from hell is pretty dad burn awesome as well! You have a awesome day brother!
"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance"
2 Peter 3:9
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me"
Friends, we are in the valley of the shadow of death....you are preparing for eternity----think on it----Brother Rick/Tenac has made mention several times that we have a choice, it is your decision--your choice-- which way your eternity goes
really some good stuff out here on Bible Board this wonderful Sunday morning......thanks for all the post
GOD BLESS and have a very good day
Food for thought-----Remember "when you take your last breath your world has ended"....you have stepped off into eternity
Good morning Chartmaster....have a most awesome day!
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am”
John 14:1-3
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession — to the praise of his glory”
Ephesians 1:13-14
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
Revelation 21: 1-6
"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance"
2 Peter 3:9
God Has Time for You
~ Just as God is never too busy for us, we need to slow down enough to give others the gift our time.
Scripture Reading: Mark 10:46-52
Time is precious. It’s a tremendously valuable gift that we can give to others. And Jesus showed us how to manage our time well. One important way He demonstrated His love for mankind was by being available.
The Lord had much to accomplish in His few years of earthly ministry. But wherever He went, He was sensitive to the needs of the people around Him and reached out in love to help.
In this month’s Bible study, we saw that shortly before going to the cross, Jesus stopped to help a poor blind beggar — a “nobody” in the eyes of society. Although the redemption of mankind was vitally important, the Lord cared enough about the suffering of one person to stop and do what He could to provide relief.
If Jesus stopped on the way to the cross in order to help someone, will He not also stop and listen when you call out to Him in your distress? He is never too busy to listen to one of His beloved children.
We are stewards of all that God gives us, including our time.
How can you, like Jesus, reach out in love today and give someone the gift of your availability?

Likewise my friend - I am also looking forward to the rapture! I am also happy that the Lord has tarried this long though, as it gives more time for the lost souls to repent. As the Lord points out in 2 Peter 3:9 - “He does not wish for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance”.
Have a blessed Sunday!

I'm looking forward to the Rapture, were the last generation meets The Lord in the air on way to Heaven where there has been a place prepared for me! New body, new Heaven home, and no non-believer fools neither! They all get cast to Hell!
If you dont have a personal relationship with Jesus. Im going to give you the opportunity to do that right here right now. If you will pray this prayer...not only from your mouth but also your heart...and mean it like nothing you have ever spoken before. Jesus will come into your life and heart and save you. You will be born-again!
Lord Jesus, Im like everyone else...i cant make it through life on my own. Im imperfect. Im prone to sin. I have come to realize that theres nothing in the world I can do to make myself acceptable to You. But I know that You have loved me so much that You were willing to die on my behalf. That's a grace so amazing I cannot understand it...i can only accept it. And i do. Please forgive my sins and i accept Your free gift of Salvation... and I know that from this moment on... i am saved...i am a child of God. And i give the rest of my life to serving You and experiencing the joy that only You can offer. Fill me now with your Holy Spirit dear Lord...and raise me to walk in the newness of life. I thank You and praise You!
Amen.
If you just prayed this prayer and meant it...you are now born-again and have a home in heaven! Go tell the world and if you dont already have a church family...please find one...And if you would like to talk...send me a private message....i will give you a call....
I Have No Regrets About My Past...My Past Is Who I Am Today...Born Again!
Rick j Sane
Up until the age of 40...ole Rick Sane...lived life his way. During the last 25 years of that span...he put enough drugs and alcohol in his body to kill a great deal of Coxes army. He never went to church...never read the Bible...never prayed. He cussed often and often took the Lords name in vain and mocked God and laughed about seeing folks in hell one day. His main focus in life was getting high and all the insanity that goes with that lifestyle. In jail a few times....overdosed on drugs twice...alcohol poisoning to some degree several times...in his twisted mind he somehow thought he was indestructible. He kept a job traveling the country working construction...deep down in there somewhere he was kinda sorta a pretty good person raised a farm boy whos family were born-again believers...but for whatever reason he had become one of satans right hand men...in the crazy life he lived. Now...Rick had this friend...we will call him Jim...and Jim was kinda sorta a model citizen. Jim did not drink or use drugs. He held a job and was also a volunteer fireman. Coached his sons little league baseball team. He didnt cuss and was always helping in charity events thru the Ruritan club that he was a member of. Jim went to church...read his Bible once in awhile and sometimes prayed and tithed his money. In most ways...Rick and Jim were complete opposites. The thing is...in the most important way...they were just alike. And that being...both Rick and Jim had never repented of their sins...never ask God for forgiveness of their sins...neither were saved...born-again. If Rick and Jim had both been in the same car and had a bad wreck and both had died...they both would have gone to hell. You see folks...it dont matter what kind of life we live...wicked like Rick or pretty dad burn good like Jim...unless we surrender our life to God...we have a personal relationship with Jesus...we are filled with the Holy Spirit upon the day of salvation...we are going to split hell wide open. We cant buy our way...we cant do enough good stuff or be good enough...there is nothing we can do to earn our way to heaven outside of a personal relationship with Jesus. Salvation is all about what Jesus did on the cross...He paid our sin debt in full. So...do you have that? Remember...there are no do-overs...when we step foot into eternity the stage is set...heaven or hell...where are you headed?
I Have No Regrets About My Past...My Past Is Who I Am Today...Born Again!
Rick j Sane
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Ephesians 2:8
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:13
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6
Insights from Job Part Two: The Arena of Circumstance
"You clothed me with skin and flesh, and wove me together with bones and tendons." ~ Job 10:11
Many scholars believe Job is the most ancient of Biblical texts. If this is true, the story of Job serves as a kind of preface to the rest of the text. It sets the stage, as it were, for creation and the prophets and the nation of Israel and the life/death/resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It seems a poetic possibility. Because Job addresses some fundamentally tough questions:
• Why does God allow bad things to happen?
• Why do the innocent suffer?
• What benefit is there in all this for humanity?
When reading the book of Job, it is hard not to feel a cringe of familiarity when Satan is allowed to play a part in the circumstances. His allowance to alter Job’s settings feels very close to home.
Perhaps the reason for all of this is that God wants to communicate in this preface that the battle for humanity will play out in the arena of circumstance. Satan and his dominions will be there, including the inclinations of the flesh. So will the Spirit. And the mysterious Creator of all things. But central casting in the drama is humanity. And the drama’s tension is this question: “What choices will they make?”
It is a question as relevant for us as it was for Job. The world has been created. The board has been set and the players are in position. What choices will we make in the midst of the arena, in the world of opportunity set before us?

The Charles Stanley Institute
What is the Charles Stanley Institute?
The Charles Stanley Institute is the disciple-training arm of In Touch Ministries. It exists to provide believers with sound biblical instruction so they can know God, learn to listen to Him, walk with Him, take hold of all for which He created them, and live the abundant Christian life.
Did Dr. Stanley know about the Charles Stanley Institute?
Yes. Before he went home to the Lord, Dr. Stanley expressed his desire for In Touch Ministries to continue broadcasting his messages and keep making disciples worldwide. As he and the current president and CEO of In Touch, Phillip Bowen, prayed, God gave them the idea for the Charles Stanley Institute to carry on the mission. Dr. Stanley even took part in choosing key team members — people he trusted to teach the Word of God as he would.
Who will teach at the Charles Stanley Institute?
The Charles Stanley Institute is based on Dr. Stanley’s teachings, and in each class, you’ll begin with his messages. However, there will also be new materials that align with his teachings — such as instructional videos, Bible studies, and leader guides. Those resources are authored by people who worked closely with Dr. Stanley for decades, including individuals he specially chose for the team. You may see some new presenters on the videos but be assured that everyone on the team works together to obey God, align with His Word, and stay true to Dr. Stanley’s legacy. This team is dedicated to Dr. Stanley’s heart and vision for the future of the ministry.
What is the relationship between the Charles Stanley Institute and In Touch Ministries?
The Charles Stanley Institute is a ministry initiative developed by In Touch Ministries to fulfill its mission to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and strengthen the local church.
Is there an actual physical Charles Stanley Institute? If so, may I visit?
Currently, a classroom training site is in development at the In Touch Ministries headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and will be available in the near future. However, we are currently unable to accommodate students.
Is the Charles Stanley Institute accredited or recognized by any educational authorities?
Currently, the Charles Stanley Institute is not accredited, but we’re working on it.

This message ties back to that “thorn in our flesh", "that so easily ensnares us”. Those small “one-offs” that hide in that tiny corner of our hearts that I believe we all struggle with as we walk through this dark world that is not our home. But, praise be to God - we don’t walk it alone, and the Holy Spirit is our constant companion helping us to shine the Light of Christ in and through us - even as we struggle at times to fight-off the “messenger of satan”. Have a most blessed weekend!

Thank you for this post , you sort of stepped on my toes a bit with this one. I suppose I could go on & on about how short I easily fall into this frame of mind. I have learned how to really forgive another....but I fall way short in the area of forgetting and offering an evil deed up t o God for Him to take care of. In my morning chat (prayer) & coffee with God I ask that today I would be ever mindful of my short-comings and that I might feel the presence of the Holy Spirit throughout my day. I was getting ready to do my Bible study but felt a tug on my heart to read the Bible Board 1st and your post was there....thanks, I needed this one. Yesterday (I think) there was mention of prayer, I am now 80 and find my prayer list is getting quite long----raises a real conversation in my mind with myself, lol,.....I find so many folks in need of God's healing hand , but more so the strength and courage that is available from God in the time of need. Then a real disturbing FACT, my country is really suffering from all sorts of illnesses, somehow we as a God fearing nation have to turn back to God. If I go here I will be typing all day long, but those professing to be Christians (in my opinion) really need to step up. Yesterday Tenac put out that Scripture about letting your. light shine-----think!! if you walk into a dark room and light a candle, you chase the darkness away-----now if "each Christian" were to in their little corner of the world be a candle for Christ, WOW, what a difference our world would be. Maybe each of us should ask ourselves, are we a light or just a go along person.
GOD BLESS ---have a great day----step out in faith
Seeing Through God's Eyes
"They mourned, wept, and fasted until the evening for those who died by the sword — for Saul, his son Jonathan, the Lord’s people, and the house of Israel." ~ 2 Samuel 1:12
How would you respond if you heard something bad happened to someone who had been trying to cut off your head for several years?
King Saul had been seeking to kill David for many years before Saul was thrust into battle against the Amalekites. In this final battle, a sword killed Saul. When the news reached David, instead of rejoicing that his enemy was no longer a problem for him, he responded in a totally different manner. He mourned. Imagine that; he mourned for the one who sought to kill him.
This is a sign of one who can look past an individual who is the source of pain and consider how God views him. God looks on that individual and sees his needs and knows why he responds the way he does. When we begin to see people as God does, we'll no longer look at them as enemies, but as souls in need of grace. This is how Jesus could give of His life for us. He saw our great need, not what we did to Him.
When someone wrongs you, do you seek to retaliate, or do you pray to understand the need behind the offender's actions?
For several years a person was a source of constant pain and retaliation toward me. There was nothing I could do to change it. God allowed me to go beyond the person's actions to understand what was the source of his need. When I gained that understanding, God gave me a picture of this person inside a prison cell and in bondage. This bondage made him respond to life in this way. I was able to pray for him and genuinely love him in spite of the fact that he persecuted me. This is the kind of love Jesus wants us to have when He tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who spitefully use us.
I believe God does a special work of grace in those who go beyond the realm of normal response to persecution. He brings us to a level of grace we never thought possible. Describing how God worked in Joseph's life, Francis Frangipane reveals what happens when we tap into this grace:
"God made him fruitful in the very things that afflicted him. In the land of your affliction, in your battle, is the place where God will make you fruitful. Consider, even now, the area of greatest affliction in your life. In that area, God will make you fruitful in such a way that your heart will be fully satisfied, and God's heart fully glorified. God has not promised to keep us from valleys and sufferings, but to make us fruitful in them." [Francis Frangipane, Place of Immunity (Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Arrow Publications, 1996), 93]

I think I will just say excellent......no matter a person's past, whenever they give up their evil side and turn to God they become a new person. And I suppose if a person ain't been there that there is not much there for them to understand , when I was living by "MY" standard no way could I ever begin to understand a new & better life.....When one comes to Christ all things are just different/better.....I got a great story here, but will save it for another day
You good folks have a very good evening,,,,,you bad folks join in there and have a very good evening also
GOD BLESS
I remember now that you spoke this testimony of a period of your life...that i had heard you speak of before here on the Bible board but as im good at doing...i had forgot. Thanks for sharing again as in itself it shows the awesome God we serve and His mercy and grace upon us. We often speak as believers that God works in mysterious ways and oh how true that is! And i would agree...you said....
An Impactful Prayer
~ We know our requests align with God's will when they come directly from Scripture.
Scripture Reading: Colossians 1:1-14
Today’s passage includes a life-changing prayer, written by Paul to the believers at Colossae. Here’s what makes this prayer so powerful: Every request is in agreement with God’s will.
In verse 9, Paul asked that the Colossians be filled with knowledge of what the Father desires from His children. The way this happens is by spending time with God — talking with Him, reading His Word, and seeking His will. It includes His general purposes for all believers — such as loving Him and people (Luke 10:27) — as well as His specific plan for each one of us (Ephesians 2:10).
Paul knew that to apply what we learn, we need insight and clarity, which come from the Holy Spirit (John 16:13). So he asked God to give the believers at Colossae spiritual wisdom and understanding. But this is also a request we can make for those who don’t yet know Christ. After all, it’s not God’s desire for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9), and people need spiritual understanding in order to come to faith.
Our heavenly Father has promised that those who pray in agreement with His purposes will receive what they ask. Therefore, it is important to start by discovering what His plans are. Try incorporating scriptural prayers — like the one from today’s passage — into your conversations with the Lord.
