agreed incredible
Great PR today!!! If you build it they will come...customers and investors alike.
This service fills a void in the market...I don't think folks realize the size of the potential market here.
Been a long wait...and will continue to require some patience...but this is potential disruption of the global low cost airline industry...that doesn't happen over night. But certainly the momentum is picking up :)
Imho
That is huge news. Excellent, but surprised to not see more volume.
Looks great! Thanks and best wishes
first news and its amazing https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/as-ip-tech-inc-makes-aviation-history-301433567.html
Apologies for the confusion.
Just to clarify. The PAX trial was scheduled to commence on 16th, but delayed a week as the airline needed more time to schedule the passenger and crew notification system, as is just one aircraft equipped and required a custom setup.
We started flying passengers last week, hence the increase in app downloads.
The runwaygirl (industry announcement) was to support the show and there will be a similar announcement on PRnewswire today.
The show is just the offical starting point, as it’s now real and there is considerable interest in the Wizz program.
When Wizz feels it suitable, they will make their own announcement. As you know, our policy is to let the technology do the talking.
As we roll out enhanced features over the coming weeks, we will update accordingly.
Regards
Ron
Agree. I think article is separate from IPTK news release.
Like you said ball started rolling
Not sure...but from the last update from Ron it sounds like we might get something from the World Aviation Festival. I don't know if today's article was what he was referring to here or not...But I'm leaning towards not. I think this article is linked to the jump in downloads we saw recently and the round of testing Ron mentioned here...

Passengers trials to commence 16th November and we will officially launch the service at the World Aviation Festival in London, on December 1st.

Ron
I'm believing we get something from this upcoming conference. Would be a great stage to announce from.
Hearing it come from Wizz in a full on PR with social media support would be great.
Guess we shall see in the coming days.

Wonder when we will see joint news from Wizz and iptk.
Runwaygirlnetwork.com is widely followed and respected for airline industry information, geared to the passenger perspective. Definitely worth following, and researching if you're an air traveler
Yeah I can't imagine the excitement inside the ASIP camp these days. I am also extremely happy for him and the team. Always nice to see determination and a steadfast approach pay off. Exciting times.
Hopefully one of these days in the next year or 2 I can use the service first hand aboard Frontier or another airline here in the States. :)

I'm happy for Ron; it's been a long road for him.
Great Find! Here we go! And this part is def interesting...
"We are in serious discussions with a third unnamed, but it won’t be a trial,” he said."
Assuming I'm reading into this right...I thought something like this could happen going forward. If they have already documented detailed installation instructions and passed extensive ground/interference/passenger testing etc with WIZZ, then why would there be a need to go through all of that for every airline? I could see some of them maybe go through it if its just part of their procedures...but I could also see some of them just sign on for bigger deployment already knowing that the tech works.
Will be interesting to see what comes from the Aviation Fest this week.
The ball is rolling...

"Wizz Air UK launches trial of free messaging service from ASIP
By Mary Kirby ? 29 Nov 2021
Budget operator Wizz Air UK has commenced inflight trials of a novel Bluetooth connectivity solution that supports free messaging for every passenger, the airline’s IFC supplier AS-IP Tech (ASIP) divulged today.
This is a world-first debut for ASIP’s fflya-branded offering in the commercial aviation sector, though the firm has provided similar technology on private jets since 2016.
The fflya solution is unique on a number of fronts. Rather than using a traditional onboard Wi-Fi network, fflya employs a frequency-hopping Bluetooth access point/router as a lower-cost, lower-bandwidth alternative to Wi-Fi. Its dual window antennas transmit data via the Iridium NEXT global network of LEO satellites.
Installed and now flying on an Airbus A321 operated by Wizz Air UK, fflya allows over 200 passengers to get an identical and simultaneous service regardless of where they sit in the aircraft and at no cost, according to ASIP.
“More than 10 years of development has gone into the creation of fflya and answers the question, why do I have to pay for connectivity on airlines? To see it flying and being enjoyed by passengers is a great reward for the incredible work of the ASIP Team,” said ASIP Tech president Ron Chapman in a statement.
“The benefits fflya will create especially for the low-cost airline sector and their passengers, will only enhance this unique service. We will announce more details shortly.”
Chapman confirmed to Runway Girl Network that the Wizz Air UK deployment is a pilot program, and that the carrier can make a decision about full-fleet equipage in time. “On other airlines, we have an agreement for a similar program with [Indonesia’s] Citilink. We are in serious discussions with a third unnamed, but it won’t be a trial,” he said.
While fflya operates over the Iridium NEXT constellation, it is presently using the satellite operator’s legacy service over those satellites. Even so, Chapman said the NEXT constellation “delivers a far better signal consistency” than the prior-generation satellites.
However, now that Iridium’s next generation Certus 100 “midband” service is commercially available via NEXT, “it also guarantees our technology roadmap on enhanced services, which we will announce soon”, he assured. In addition to free messaging, fflya can support payments and telemetry.

I used Full WiFi and each flight I would need to pay for it.
Thank you and yea it may not change the world for all flyers right away...as the ones who fly airlines with full on wifi now will likely continue to do so. But certainly on a global scale there are probably 50 or 100 airlines that currently offer nothing to passengers. How could they say no to fflya and what it has to offer? Unless I am completely missing something. So can we land 20% of them? Imagine if Wizz's competitor Ryan Air jumped on...between Ryan and Wizz alone your talking like 160-180M passengers pre covid. That alone could generate some serious revs. How many texts would that many people send over a yr? Lol. Even at fractions per penny per text that can add up whether its the lower margin revs or not. I'm really excited about the pymt component. That is where i think the numbers could really stack up. We just gotta get this thing launched and see how it goes..Hopefully passengers are well informed about the service and hopefully they choose to utilize all it has to offer
Imho

Fantastic post. Agree totally. This technology if successful will change world when you fly.
And with the google play store those numbers I think get updated weekly maybe?...so there is a good chance those numbers that have updated are delayed. Will be keeping an eye there. And one of the benefits of the app is that the software can be embedded directly into the airlines app itself..So I would imagine when that happens the fflya download numbers may not mean too much. Those dl numbers will probably only come into play as each airline begins their testing procedures and passengers have to dl fflya itself for the testing. But all this is just a guess.
Feels like the curtain will be raised soon.
Whether we see an immediate reaction in price and a knee jerk to .50+ or not...its very exciting to see this service become an actual functioning service. I have been trading a good number of years...very few penny stocks actually get a real product produced and sold on a decent scale. This one I feel has the potential to rise to even that next super rare level and effect a major industry with their product or service. I'm just happy to be a part of it in any capacity juuust incase true disruption of global low cost airline industry is a afoot...They have done a great job at keeping the share intact...I have to believe that is for good reason.
Will be interesting to see how all this plays out. Looking at the market caps of the larger providers etc...and how they lose money dealing with wifi in planes...the fact that IPTK appears positioned to quickly turn profits on much less revenue makes me believe there's a serious chance of being acquired or merged with a bigger partner who maybe has the resources to blow this service out on a larger scale, faster.
Again win or lose...I don't know what plays out here in the end...I'm just excited to be here to witness either way...Interesting story with some interesting characters.
As heard in the podcast...
ASI - Any Silly Idea. :)

Google play store.
Where do you follow download count
Yep. Noticed app downloads jumped from 50+ up to 100+ the other day...so it appears that next round of testing is underway. Service launch on deck.

Next week could be interesting.
As we approach our long awaited launch date. Here's a look back at 2015-2016...

Not quite sure at this point if the service has been installed onto the Wizz Fleet over the past 2 months and service goes live on DEC 1st?..or if they will announce the roll out of equipment installation beginning on DEC 1st? Either way we are getting closer.
If an announcement comes and it catches the attention of some serious investors in the airline space we could see some interesting action on the share price...this 18M float allows for some interesting possibilities.
Once Wizz is locked up it will be exciting to see who's next.

Wizz in the news again.

Yes agreed on all points. It's almost impossible to read that and not think ASIP.
Exciting times around here whether the price action currently reflects it or not. I don't know if Wizz news has already been reflected in the rise from the .02 area...but I have to believe a joint announcement from ASIP and WIZZ at this conference will garner some attention from those that invest in the airline space. And with only 18m floating that makes for some interesting possibilities.
Feels like ASIP the company is taxiing to the runway...Dec 1st the service will be officially taking to the skies. Will have to wait and see what lies in store from there or what it means for the share price etc.
And yes very good they are in step with filings. Encouraging on all fronts.
Best wishes to all involved...

The IPTK connection to Iridium is meaningful. And Iridium seems to be thrilled with exactly what IPTK has developed. Read carefully. Emphasis is mine.
"But do these types of IFEC players need to be formally approved as Iridium value added manufacturers?"
Any company that is integrating Iridium technology into a custom application “would in almost all circumstances have a formal relationship with us to do that," responded Iridium VP & GM of IoT and Aviation Tim Last. "And yes, as part of that, we insist that the product goes through certain testing type approval or certification on our network. Now we are doing that primarily for performance over the Iridium network"
Speaking broadly, and not about any specific company, Last notes that there is indeed “one or two of those types of companies that have been developing for a while and Iridium has been used for payment solutions on charter flights and other things. So yeah, we are quite excited because there is a space for that where full blown inflight connectivity is not going to be available but a throttled down version that’s maybe doing payments and messaging, things like that, absolutely.”
Sounds like he's talking about IPTK, doesn't it?
Happy to see the IPTK 10Q out on time, as promised.

New write up mentioning ASIP (IPTK) and fflya at runwaygirlnetwork.com. Very, very meaningful for IPTK, imo, especially the relationship with Iridium. From the article:
"In commercial IFEC, specifically, while some wireless entertainment companies suggested in 2019 that they had cooled on the idea of an Iridium integration, others are pressing forward given the low-latency nature of Iridium’s service.
AS-IP Tech (ASIP), for instance, is preparing to soon launch commercial operations of its fflya Bluetooth connectivity kit — with unique dual window antennas — onboard Wizz Air UK aircraft. The lite inflight connectivity solution will initially use Iridium’s classic service.
But ASIP founder and president Ron Chapman tells Runway Girl Network that fflya is “also designed to accommodate the new Certus midband."
ASIP also has the option to add Certus 350 broadband (352 Kbps) — and with it the requisite high-gain antenna on the roof of the aircraft — if demand dictates, and as a complement to the window antennas."
"But do these types of IFEC players need to be formally approved as Iridium value added manufacturers?"
Any company that is integrating Iridium technology into a custom application “would in almost all circumstances have a formal relationship with us to do that”, responded Iridium VP & GM of IoT and Aviation Tim Last. “They may have started working on the technology with one of our other partners because we have a range of other partners that are familiar with our technology that supports third party integrators. But in almost all cases that I am aware of, we know of those companies or they have a great relationship.
“And yes, as part of that, we insist that the product goes through certain testing type approval or certification on our network. Now we are doing that primarily for performance over the Iridium network. We are not doing aviation certification or telling them ‘can you put that in the cabin in a certain position or location’, that’s not our responsibility in relation to those solutions. But we obviously do our best to qualify those companies to make sure that they build good business plans, good technology and that they’re putting the right due diligence in place when they are working in the markets.”

A little throw back...In the beginning.
World's First Bluetooth Access Point For Aircraft Unveiled
Promises Inflight Mobile Phone Services
ASiQ Limited announced the release of the world’s first aircraft Bluetooth Access Point Tuesday.
“Up until now passengers have only had very expensive options for in flight mobile phone communications. However, with the evolution of our SafeCell App, combined with our new Bluetooth Access Point, airlines will now be able to offer their passengers affordable SMS, MMS, voice messaging and text email on the popular device of choice, the mobile phone," said Ron Chapman ASiQ’s CEO. "Better still SafeCell eliminates GSM roaming charges, as it does not require a GSM Picocell connection to deliver its services.”
Bluetooth access points are more efficient, as they operate as a Personal Area Network (PAN) and unlike Wi-Fi do not have to connect to the internet, in order to establish a link. The SafeCell App is unique in that file sizes are so small, even a narrow band satellite link can accommodate the basic texting needs of every passenger. Plus, Bluetooth can transmit at up to 3 megabits per second, which means it can accommodate any data or media requirement.
With ASiQ’s proprietary PAN design, two access points can cover a narrow body aircraft such as a Boeing 737 or Airbus 320. Up to 192 mobiles can be logged on to each Access Point.
The SafeCell system is projected to cost as little as $10k per aircraft, compared to GSM based systems costing around $500k per aircraft and a Wi-Fi system costing around $100K per aircraft for a US domestic airline and up to $350k for an international airline.
ASiQ says several airlines have been following the progress of SafeCell which was patented in January this year, and Chapman says he expects to announce the first installation of the new access point in the second quarter of 2010.

Yeah I hear ya. I was just throwing out some what I thought were reasonable possibilities. I don't know if there will be a need to allow time for production of units..or if they already have them. If there will be a need for a capital raise to order units. Maybe we get a clarity there soon. Been a few weeks now since the last update. Likely some kind of further progress has been made.
The silence is tough but exciting :)

Hope so as well. Can’t wait to see this stock get more attention from investors.
Hopefully, all of the pieces align in time for a holiday season roll-out if possible. Seems that would be a great time to get the service in front of a mass audience. The last update mentioned a marketing phase. Going to assume there wouldn't be marketing to passengers prior to equipment installations on a decent number of planes. The shortened installation time required makes for some interesting possibilities as far as when we might see this service take to the skies.
"And gone are the perks of flying during a pandemic. Prices will be higher and planes will be more packed than they were a year ago."

fflya opens the inflight imagination of airline passengers by delivering products and services, plus exciting tours and attraction offers relative to where they are flying. fflya also reconnects passengers with family and friends through free messaging.
Only ASIP Tech has the unique fflya network that can deliver this exclusive inflight service.
It is made possible by the integration of the latest generation App technology, Bluetooth, and Low Earth Orbit Iridium Next satellites.
Combine this with fflya’s world first window antennae and no longer do you need to install complex, heavy, fuel burning antennas on the roof of your aircraft.
LEO’s are only 600 kilometers up and the existing 66 satellites provide global coverage. Each aircraft only require 2 unobtrusive window antennas. One on either side of the aircraft and everyone is connected.
LEO’s also mean a much smaller, lighter system which is simpler to install and that translates into a fully self funding program that we guarantee will generate revenue for your airline from day one.
