I wasn't shocked (Not the result I wanted at all, but wasn't shocked.) AI like all contests are a popularity contest. The best singer a lot of the time doesn't actually win. She is clearly the best singer, but she didn't come with the over the top rooting for that Iam get. And country singer specifcally the last 3-5 years it has become apparent always do well on these shows. Wei was neither. This is not a open contest, it never has been. It has Always been IAM winning this thing, and it has been painfully obvious for me for weeks. I thought there was a shot Wei could beat Megan, But I knew Wei was done, when she sang leadoff. If you ever notice poeple that sing leadoff in these competitions seems to have horrific results when it comes to advancing in my opinion.

Here is my take.

1) Wei- Overall another excellent vocal as usual. Excellent Performance. Grade A-

2) Zachariah- Didn't love the song choice to say the least. Didn't love the vocal either. Sounded like alot of screaming to me. Below Average Grade C-

3) Collin- Overall I think he did a good job on that song. A solid performance, athough thought the band was a little too loud, and did drown him out in a few parts So I agree with you there. Grade B

4) Megan-I don't like her tone which is why I wil never be a fan, but she can sing. And on that song it worked for the most part. One of her better performance. Good but not great. But for her good is great. Grade B

5) Iam- More of the same pleasant, but a bit boring and bit forgettable. Slightly Above Average for me. Grade C+

6) Wei- She was solid, but not my favorite from her, not a perfect vocal for me. But still good. Grade B

7) Zach- Better than the 1rst performance, but his 1rst performance was one of the worst in the contest for him. But far ffrom perfect, just average for me. Grade C

8) Collin- I kind of liked it. Not perfect but solid vocally, and the song just seem to connect in a way. Can't expain it, something intangible about it. Good performnce. Grade B

9) Megan-Didn't love this performance. Her tone for me it a problem. Just barely average at best for me. Grade C

10) IAM- A boring Average at best vocal. Grade C

To Me my top 3
Wei (Best singer by a country mile.)
Collin (Move into clear 2nd choice for me)
Zach (Based on past weeks performances gets him 3rd choice for me)

What Happened Wei and Zach Get cut. Strongly disagree on Wei. Slightly disagree on Zach, but this week was not good, so it did hurt him.

If you see these talent shows what you begin to realize who wins, it is either a country singer (They have absurd levels of success), or your classic Either Sob/Feel Good story. And that is clearly what advanced. That is what does well these days. Wei as good of a singer as she is (I don't think it has anything to do with the voice you mentioned), isn't a country singer, and did not have the good appealing sob story/feel good story that people seem to graviate to from a voting perspective. I will root for Collin, but who are we kidding IAM is winning this thing in a landslide I have been saying it for weeks, not that I think he should win, but all you had to do was listen to the audience the people are voting for him it really is that simple at the end of the day. All is just my opinion of course.

- we’ - i dont know the song but she still sang it flawlessly yet it was boring.
- zach- not good
- colin- pitchy but i still like his style but the band drowned him out
- megan- a good performance but as i say all along, i dont like her voice
- Iam- still just average but maybe they like his “feel good” songs during these crazy time?

round two- ding ding ding…

- we’ - another sad sappy song but she sang it top notch. she is the superior singer
- zach- wow, his mother’s day letter got to me.. but his singing was just ok
- colin- lol, they put some sub titles there as he spoke, lol. his song was a little pitchy but so honest. it was good.
- megan- nice start but i just dont like her voice
- iam- it was depressing. also, idol needs to keep in mind that he is beyond obese and if they put a ton of money into him, boom, he could be gone. just saying from a money making standpoint but its out of their hands now, as America votes.

Yes I did, Been quite busy this week.

I agree that I'am is waaaaaaaaaaaay overrated, eventhough I like him much better than you. I see him generally as a decent contestant who is pleasant to listen too but far from great. But I think The audience/voters really Likes him. For me he is a distant 4th of the 5 contestants left. My comments were with IAM winning, not that I would have him win WEI should win this contest in a landslide in my opinion. But that I think he is a good shot because I think he is way more popular with the Audience and America's voting than he is with me, and even more crazy of a difference for you, because you like him less than I do.

My order right now of preference is:

Zach
Collin (After this week has moved closer to zach)
IAM
Megan (Who is 5th because there are only 5 left, I just have a thing with her tone, as I'm not a fan.

Having said that I will be shocked if IAM isn't in the top 3, and I think there is a great chance of America Voting him 1rst. Now I strongly will disagree with that result, but the statement him winning to be clear, is not that I think he should win, but that the audience/voting public might make that happen. Anyways have a great evening, and of course just one man's opinion.

Maybe it was just me On warren, but to say I didn't like it was an understatement, based on last night alone he should of been the 1rst cut and it wasn't even close, if you were voting like that, not that I think you should vote like that at this point, it should be more collective at this point, but what the heck do I know. The thing I got from this show the most was how insane the reaction was for I'am, I mean the audience was going nuts. And As I said I have never seen anyone basically almost say vote for another contestant before. Those are the two things that really stood out to me on the show to be honest. All is just my opinion of course.

My Take on the Show Last night

First we were missing KP and LR from the judges panel and Essentially replaced them with AM and ES. And they decided to cover the AM song book for the solos and the ES song book for the duets. I personally think AM although there were two songs from her that are on my many favorite song list, is a hard cover, most songs don't sound great if you make them your own, and it is hard to do if you keep true to original without paling in comp. Anyways just my take.

1) Warren- As for Warren that was flat out brutal, I mean everything was off, the music behind him, his vocals. It was way below average and I'm being nice. And one knows I'm generally a fan, but not this performance. Grade D

2) Zachariah- It was above average, and had it's moments of success. But also moments where it was either missing something with a few bad notes. One of my two favorite songs from the AM Song book. Slightly Above Average. Grade C+

3) I'am and Oliver- The first duet, Although I thought it wasn't the most exciting, it was the best harmonization by a wide margin, and that made it decent for me. Also found it odd to see Oliver basically doing the vote for I'am campaign, never seen a contestant do that before. Grade B-

4) Haven- Overall I thought it was the right song choice for her. I thought she sang Above Average on this performance. As usual her vocals are never gonna be the strongest, but this song hide them well enough. Grade C+

5) Wei Ani and Warren- I didn't love this duet. And oddly mostly because of Wei, who was the first time I didn't like her on a song. Warren was a lot better than wei on this. Overall Just average at best. Grade C

6) Collin- I thought he found a way to make this song his own, and It really worked for me. I actually thought it was very good. Grade B+

7) Haven and Zachariah- The duet was above average, as zachariah was good, and haven wasn't very good and I'm being nice. The good news for this duet is alot of times it felt like haven was the background singer. Which made you focus more on zachariah, so it was slightly above Average for me. Grade C+

8) Megan- She sang it decently and knows how to sing. I know everyone says they like her tone and it unique. I just think the combo her tone presents isn't for me, so it will hold every song back for me. if you don't like the tone of a singer (At least for me), it hard to love the performance. Just Average. Grade C

9) I'am-The more and more you hear this crowd, I'm starting to strongly believe he is gonna win. Don't get me wrong he is a solid contestant, but the popularity is through the roof, for the level of talent in my opinion. As for this performance, it was more of the same a pleasant decent vocal and performance, that was slightly boring. Decent but far from great like the audience wants to make you believe. Grade B-

10) Wei Ani- Sang my favorite AM song, which is one of the most haunting songs I have ever heard. As for Wei Performance I thought it was very very good, as usual. Grade A-

11) Collin and Megan. Collin had a very good vocal in this duet, his voice was very strong last night in my opinion, perhaps the strongest his voice ever was. Had a very good night for him or anyone to be honest. Megan tone as usual and the vocal I just didn't like it. So brought the overall duet down signficantly. Slightly Above Average. Grade C+

12) Oliver- It is my third favorite AM song, but didn't like the vocal, thought the performance and the vocal was a bit all over the place. Slightly below Average for me. Grade C-

For me it is Wei Ani in a landslide. She is so above and beyond the competition. I mean every song is different, it doesn't matter, she is great on one song after another. Doesn't matter what style, whether she is singing a ballad or a up temp song. She is very good to great every week, I don't think I have seen this kind of excellence by a contestant week in and week out, in many many years of AI, yes she is the best we have seen in years in my opinion.

My Take on the show Tonight

This was judges pick night.

1) Zachariah- Sings another huge rock song. I didn't love this performance. When he was not powering up, his voice kind of sounded nasally. Hit the power notes fine though. Far from his best, just slightly above average for me overall. Grade C+

2) Haven- Boring and not a great song choice for her. A very off, pitchey and weak vocal. Way below average. Grade D+

3) Wei Ani- Another one of my favorite many songs. Sings a classic WH song. Another excellent vocal, she can flat out sing it doesn't really matter what song she sing, it always varies from very good to excellent. She had excellent power, even better control, and then hits the falsettos at the end. This was excellent for me. Grade A

4) Oliver- This is one boring song to say the least. Average to slightly above average vocal. But overall just Average at best for me, because I was bored listening to it. Grade C

5) Warren- I thought it was a good song choice, and he did a very good job on the performance and the vocal. Grade B+

6) IAM- Sing a classic LA song, which I thought was a good song choice for him. Although I did find it a bit boring though, but the vocal was decent. Grade B-

7) Mary Beth- Wasn't the perfect vocal, actually an average vocal, as there were a number of imperfections. But she did make me feel something so that is a plus. So I would say overall that played it up a bit for me, so I went with above average. Grade C+

8) Tyson- Sings another one of my many favorite songs with the LC hit. More emotional than normal, and he sang it very well (Although pales to the original, on vocals and emotions). A strong good performance, and one of his better performances overall so far. Grade B

9) Megan- Sings a VG hit. I continue to say I'm not her biggest fan of her tone. But it worked way better on this song than most. I thought the performance was pretty emotional, and way better than normal. Having said that her tone will only allow me to score her so high. Though it was decent. Grade B-

10) Collin- I thought it was a decent and a little out of the box song choice for him, I thought it was a strong vocal, and a good performance. I liked it. Grade B

I would of Cut: Haven,oliver, and Megan

Who they cut Tyson, Mary Beth and Oliver.

Than the judges with a twist save one of the contestants. if I were them I would of saved tyson out of the three, but they saved Oliver which admittingly would of been my last choice out of the 3. So Mary Beth and Tyson go home leaving us with 8. All is just my opinion of course.

My Take on Last Night's Show

So the top 12 perform rock music.

1) Tyson- Sings a Classic SW Song. I thought it was a slightly above average vocal, but his performance looked like he was drunk up there performing to be honest. Seems to be missing something always and a bit forgetable for me. Grade C

2) Warren- Started off a little slow, on a actual rock song, a pet peeve as I felt alot of these songs were not rock songs. Anyways After the slow start really got into it, and his voice was very good, and I like the preformance. Grade B+

3) Haven- As one knows I'm not her biggest fan, as I think her voice is not strong enough. Actually her vocal wasn't perfect, but I actually think she did decent on one of my many favorite song. For her that was her best ever for me by a country mile. Although I still have my doubts on her vocal abilities overall. Grade B-

4) Lucy- As one knows I'm not her biggest fan either. And this performance was more of the same a bunch of screaming, and don't love her tone to say the least. By the way Just because something you think is unique doesn't mean it is good. The Judges love her for some reason that is completely unexplained to me. A well below average vocal and performance for me. Grade D+

5) Oliver- Didn't love the arrangement to say the least and vocal was just barely average and I'm being Nice. Overall slightly below Average for me. Grade C-

6) Collin- Did a decent job, although I thought the performance was missing something. He needs a hair cut desparately by the way, I mean it is perhaps the most uneven I seen hair cut. Normally I could care less, but it was so noticeable just had to mention it. A decent job, that was held back by song choice, and making me feel nothing. Pleasant but forgettable. Grade C+

7) MaryBeth- Did a decent job on it. But once again the vocal wasn't perfect and I don't think the song was the best for her which held it back for me. Above Average, but that is it. Grade C+

8) We Ani- I thought it was another very good vocal as usual on a EJ Song, with a excellent performance from her. She is without a doubt the vocalist with the most talent in the the competition and it isn't even close. Grade A-

9) Nutsa- I thought she did a decent job and she can sing. And it was decent, but as always a little over the top on both performance, and the fact that is rarely a ramp up generally she is always on 10 most if not all the song. Which made it just above average for me although it one of my favorite songs from that group. Grade C+

10) Megan- Singing a BR Classic. I thought her tone was very annoying on this song. I know the judges think she can sing, I just can't get over her tone, don't like it. Well below average for me. Grade D+

11) Zachariah- I really liked his vocal, and as usual thought he was very entertaining. I thought it was very very good. Grade A-

12) IAM- I thought this was by far his best performance since the audition phase. I loved that song for him and he did very very well. Although I think he is good, I feel his popularity/hype do by a wide margin exceed his talent, he has to be considered a favorite to win based on what seems to be insane popuarity if you listened to the audience in the room, he is my 4th choice right now overall.Grade A-

Went with Lucy and Nutsa, which really wasn't surprising because they were put back in the contest by the judges last week anyways. Nutsa wouldn't of been my choice (But that is more because there were others I would of cut first), but lucy is gone which is something I have been calling for a number of weeks.

Tonight the top 10 perform again, and my understanding is we get down to 7 by the end of night. All is just my opinion of course.

My Take on the Show Tonight

I thought it was a solid show overall.

1) Zachariah- Sang one of my many favorite songs, and I think he did a very solid job with the vocal and the performance. Although eventhough it was good it did pale to the original. I didn't love the arrangement, but it was different. Overall A solid performance. Grade B-

2) Matt- Not the most exciting song choice in the world. It wasn't perfect, but he can sing, another overall solid performance, the song in my opinion held him back from doing better for me on this one. Grade B-

3) Nailyah I really didn't love the song choice to say the least. To much screaming in this song for me to say the least. Overall She can sing, but you Always have to ask yourself the important question, and not about whether every note was hit or not? But did you simply like it. I didn't. I found it slightly below Average. Grade C-

4) Warren- Not my favorite song choice for him, but he can flat out sing. I thought it was a good vocal/performance, obviously is capable of much better with a better song. But still good. Grade B

5) Kaeyra- I really like how she turned this song into a powerful rock ballad on the piano. Loved the Arrangement, and thought the vocal was very good. Grade B+

6) Mariah- she was one of the people I thought should go home this week, but the voters disagreed. I really didn't like the song, but that was surpassed by a not very good vocal. Was off in parts and pitchey in others. Well below average for me. Grade D+

8) Haven- she was one of the people I thought should go home this week, but the voters disagreed. Having said that I liked the song choice for her this week, admittingly never heard that song before. Overall Not perfect, but one of her better vocals. Above Average for me. Athough this week she was fine, I still have major concerns her voice isn't strong enough. Grade C+

9) Oliver- He sang a decent original song, not the most exciting song, but was a very good vocal, and I did feel something when he sang so that is another plus. Very good performance. Grade B+

10) Lucy- she was one of the people I thought should go home this week, but the voters disagreed. She sang a original song, which I thought was pretty good for her. I still don't love her tone, but she connected better on this song choice, and was better overall vocally than normal. Still have my doubts on her as a vocalist, because of her tone, and generally her waaaaaay over the top singing. But this performance was solid and her best by a lot. Grade B-

Three people go home Elise (She shouldn't have), Pjae (Should Have), and Emma (Who wouldn't have for me yet, but admittingly would of probably got cut this round for me, as she is a bit too theatrical for me.)

Now they announce the 10 from Monday's show last week.

11)Hannah- Not one of my favorite contestants, she wasn't great last week although she was sick. Excellent song choice for her, and I thought she had a very very good vocal. I think the speed of this song (More umptempo than normal), got the draggingness out of her voice sometimes, and show cased the power she had in her voice, and she sang it really well. Best she has ever been in a landslide. Very, very good Performance. Grade A-

12) Olivia- Singing a CD classic. Fantastic song choice, and can flat out sing just about anything with that voice. And this song she sounded brilliant. It was essentially pretty much a perfect vocal on a high degree of difficultly song. Excellent performance. Grade A

13) Mary Beth- Sang a original song, thought the song was decent actually. She sang it relatively well, a good strong performance. Grade B

14) Michael- he was one of the people I thought should go home this week, but the voters disagreed. Don't love his tone, but thought it worked much better on this song. As it was a good song choice for him. Decent vocal, above Average For me. Although I still have my doubts his voice will sound great on many songs, because of his tone gives him a small window of songs to choose from in my opinion. But better than normal and above average for me. Grade C+

15) Paige Ann- Didn't like the way she sang that song. Her arrangement wasn't very good and I'm being nice. I really didn't like it as I heard alot of pitchiness and some screaming as well. Grade D+

16) Nutsa-Sang the Great TB classic, not a song that covered as often as some other famous female signers of that era. Paled to the original for me. I found her sharp in a lot of parts of the song. Overage Above Average for me, but that is just it. Grade C+

17) Tyson- Sang an original song that was just okay, he shouts when he powers up, showcasing at times that the song look to big for his voice. Not a perfect vocal for me. Just average at best for me. Grade C

18) Megan-she was one of the people I thought should go home this week, but the voters disagreed. I don't love her tone and that is a problem for me with her. far from the perfect or even good vocal. Below Average for me. Grade C-

19) Collin- I didn't like the song choice. I didn't like the vocal either. Flat in parts and boring in others. Below Average for me. Grade C-

20) We Ani- Sang a theme song from A JB movie. Did a very good vocal, she can flat out sing, outside Olivia who can match), I don't think anyone has more vocal talent in this competition. It was a good song choice, with a very very good performance. Grade A-

Three more people go home Elijah (Probably shouldn't have gone this week, but had a good chance of getting cut tomorrow. Same can be said with Malik and Dawson.

Now America puts 10 people through tomorrow, and the other 10 sing for two spots.

I tape everything too. All the different show I watch, Plus the time I have with being a trader in the market, plus personal stuff, plus sports, you have to speed up through the commerical you can turn 3 hours into almost 2 hours or less in my opinion, most of the times it is less in my opinion.

I agree 100% In fact, I said the same thing about 12 minutes earlier.

I thought Monday was far weaker overall than sunday if I was comparing.

They are gonna eliminate 3 from each day, so we will see who they eliminate. My favorite right now Are Wei, ann followed By Olivia,, than followed by warren, than elise, than matt. Those are my current top 5 at the moment overall right now in my opinion.
