wow, so, I have…….

not yet watched it, but read every drop here.
so, they passed someone that cant sing and gave the special ticket? thats just dumb.
I cant even pronounce these names anymore.. what happen to “john, joan, bill, etc” lol.
about the guy with the falsetto, i used to be able to do it no problem but in the last 2 years, i cant do it anymore, its just gone. im sad about that.
and it sounds like a sappy sad story still gets you through, lol.
i will try and watch it tomorrow, but too tired today.. i put this little video together, recorded parts from my ipad, edited it, added some music and stuff, here ya go,, so, this is why i was busy.

My Take on Sunday's Show
Now officially caught up, and I will say this I found this week better than the previous overall.
1) Landry- Sings a CU song to CU, seen that last week as well with a singer doing that. She was very good, and she also made it a little her own. No brainer Yes for me, and the judges put her through.
2) Victor- Sang in my opinion the best LR song to LR. The guy playing the piano while he was singing might of set back piano playing a 100 year in my opinion. A little over the top in parts, but overall he can sing. I would put him through and the judges did.
3) Isaiah- first got the story of the Grandparents took him in, with the mom's struggles and all. Okay Vocal and Okay song, on the fence at best. Leaning towards a no, but the judges put him through.
4) Grayson- sings a song that was a duet between two female powerhouse singers in DL and CA. Sounds a little bit like CA in parts. Can flat out sing, one of the best vocals I have heard so far in the contest. No brainer yes for me and the judges put her through.
5) Brajawn- The postal worker is up next. Normally I like big powerful voices, and this guy isn't that. But there is something about the way he sings that is pretty good, a combo of a vibe with his voice. can't really explain it but do like it. Yes for me and although not unanimous by the judges they do put him through.
6) Kase- a 14 year old singer, clearly he came in too early as his voice seems to be maturing wouldn't surprise me if he came back a couple of years later and was actually good. He just isn't ready yet. I would pass and the judges did the same.
7) Mikaela- Singing a WH song, on a positive note she has an very good voice, on a negative note zero connection to the song. Still more than good enough to go through at this point but for some reason CU says no, and considering some of the people she has said yes to. Than the dad comes in she sings with her dad and she was much better connecting in my opinion, it will be interesting if she can learn to do that without her dad. I would obviously put her through at this point, judges did originally not unanimous, than CU said she would give her a yes after hearing the second song.
8) Bryson- Next up was the kid with the sister with the rare condition. It was just an okay song, with maybe a slightly above average vocal. On the fence leaning towards a yes and the judges put him through.
9) Carson- Singing a TS song and that is one of many favorite songs. Have to say I didn't have the highest expectations going in. But overall I thought he sang very well, and should go through. The judges put him through.
10) MKY- sang a SR classic Not perfect but does have a pretty good falsetto. I have my concerns about his non falsetto voice. But hard to tell on that because 90% of that song is sung in falsetto so can't say for certain. Good enough at this point. The judges put him through.
11) Josh- sang a classic that was played a gazillion times on talent shows. The good news is the piano playing was solid, the bad news is he made the piano playing the star, when he should be selling his voice. His voice was good, the arrangement and his style were not very good. He has some bad habits in my opinion that I'm not sure if he will be able to break. I would be a yes because I would give him one more chance to sink/swim worth a shot with the good voice, and solid piano play, now whether he can get out of those bad habits. Time will tell. we will find out in the next round in my opinion. Judges put him through although not unanimous.
12) Sophie- Singing a original song and hard pass on her vocal as I'm not even sure I would call that singing. As for the song, there is part of me that wants to say take it seriously or have a little class, there is another part of me that just wanted to crack up hearing the gazillion things she wanted to tell off with that classic line.
13) Lashion- Let me first start by saying might be the character of AI in 2025. That was perhaps the strangest vocal, style and song (which apparently was original) we will probably see this year. for me she grew on me and I liked it. probably not for everyone though I do admit that. But I would give her a yes and the judges did.
14) Filo- Singing a classic song, had a combo of way too many runs, a bunch of key and pitch issues, with a combo of yelling, and by definition is was all over the place. for me it was a hard pass, the judges disagree to giving him a standing ovation and eventually a platinum ticket. I go back hear it again thinking maybe I was too hard on him, but it was actually worse the 2nd time I listened. Don't get him getting a ticket let alone a platinum one, but to each their own I guess.
Anyways that is my take on week 2. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
yup, they put them ….
….
through so that they have someone to kick off easily, later. i do believe that.
The worst of all was the women who wouldn't face the judges and wear sunglasses, why bother, you a performer nobody was to see you hide it is kind of in the job description to actually face an audience I couldn't believe they put her through. Her singing wasn't great and I heard worse they actually put through vocally that night (Believe it or not), but what she did in my opinion was far worse than a bad vocal in my opinion. In my opinion that should never get a yes.
i got a giggle when you said….
….
“give himself whiplash”. haha.
and yes, i was shocked at some of the garbage they put through like “the turn around lady”. lol.
i have not seen the 2nd one yet either, but will soon.
Update on 1rst Show
Got to the 1rst show yesterday. here's my review.
1) Kolbi- A gospel singer, a strange combo of having a deep voice in parts with the added benefit of some pitch problems. A little all over the place for me. I hear some talent, but way too man runs for me and in the wrong places as well. I have a low bar this round, but for me I'm on the fence. Judges put her through. More on her later.
2) Breanna- Sings a CU song to CU I guess. She can flat out sing. She did a really good job. No brainer for me and the judges agreed here as well.
3) Cruise- I don't love his tone or his style or the way he sings of this 17 year old country singer. Granted the song didn't help either. Pass for me, But the judges put him through.
4) Isaiah- Sang a DH classic, wasn't perfect, with every run a few too many for me. Was on the fence but leaning towards a yes. Because he did have some good moments too. Judges put him through.
5) Kamron- Not my favorite song, but from what I heard I liked this country singer. Actually don't know if he went through, but based on the commentary I think he did. I would of put him through.
6) Insite- The heavy metal hard rock guy who wants to give himself whiplash. This can't be good for AI, that is not singing that is screaming there is a difference in my opinion. I would be a hard pass, but they put him through.
7) Baylee- Son of BB singer, heck bringing me back to my high school/early college days with that one. Singing a original song, not sure what type of a singer he is, but he can sing, probably could even be better with a better song. Maybe it was just me but he didn't seem like the happy type.
8) Lilly- Sang a BI song, it was just a majority yes here, but they put her through. Once again, another not so good vocal, I would pass but they put her through.
9) Shane- Another Majority yes, his voice was too scratchy for me, and I would of passed but they put him through.
10) Pat- Singing a original song, let just complete this the song/style/ and vocal were a complete mess. I would be a hard pass but the judges put him through.
11) Che- The guy from England he can flat out sing, so no brainer for me. And Judges put him through. Would be a better with a better song in my opinion
12) Gabby- She can sing, not a perfect vocal, than again a AF hit like that is no easy chore. At this point she showed more than enough to go through for me. Judges put her through.
13) Ian- Singing a classic 80's one of my many favorite songs. A little theatrical, but can sing would go through for me, judges put him through.
14)Abby- singing a BR Song, forget the vocal for a second which wasn't great. She literally sang with her back to the judges with her sunglasses on. I don't get it. That is not an AI in my opinion. Hard Hard pass for me, to be a effective singer you have to be able to face an audience, clearly she couldn't. But judges inexplicably put her through.
15) Kolbi- Back to Kolbi again, they surprise her with the platinum ticket which to be fair I was unsure she should get a ticket let alone a platinum one. we will see.
16) Slater Sings and original song, about his teachers deceased kid. And the song was obviously emotional, but it wasn't great. His vocal was above average/good, but far from great. would put him through at this point because he showed enough vocally for me.
Anyways that is my take of show 1 will get to show 2 sometime this week. plan is to be caught up before show 3. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
update, i just watched the….
…
first show of the season/2025….
im only posted some of the singers, not all.. so, here ya go…..
I thought it was a nice intro, for Carrie Underwood, as she is joining as a judge. finally the “panel” is legit and not crazy or weird or out of control.
- Kolbi- too over the top with the runs,
- breanna- it was good but she looked very unhappy. not fun to watch.
- crews (yes, thats his name) .. pretty good, very nervous, but a very fun song. then it got super fun when luke joined in. (he sang “they call me the fireman”)
- a head banger guy, i forgot the name, but he does head banger stuff, just awful, but i cracked up when sweet little carrie was rocking to it and got up to dance and sing along to it. sadly, they put them through so that they can have someone to kick off later. i cracked up when Lionel said “I dont know how we fit you into disney night” lol!!!
- Baylee- the son of one of the “back street boys” sings a dumb sappy song but his voice is very good. they cave under the pressure and put him through, which was fine by me in this case.
- Gabby- not great, kind of weak, but they put her through.
- abi- she sang awful, turned around to avoid seeing anyone, yet, they put here through, lol
- ok, so, at the end was Slater—- sappy but good enough, but how can you say no after he made a song from a grieving mom’s poem about her dead son. he was her student. he wrote the song from her poem. she was so proud of him getting through as if it was her own son. it was a win for her, him and his actual family. I cried over that one and i dont cry easy.
here is the link for anyone that cares to hear it.
hi there my “idol” friend, i just noticed………..
….
that idol is on again as its on my dvr!
i have not watched yet, but am about to. have you seen it yet or do you still watch?
its aways fun catching up with you about this show.
hoping to hear back from you soon.
gail
i was surprised it was in fact the…
…
finale’. i was thinking one goes and next week is the biggy. anway….
round 1-
will - smiled oddly during a song that is not “smileable’ and it was just average for me
jack- boring song and he didnt bring his usual energy to it.
abi- another sappy song (thats all she does) but she sang better than the guys, so, it was good.
round 2-
homecoming is always fun to watch..
will- sang “my town” and did good, but not amazing.
jack- great song choice,, but he went full-on funny mode, lol. it was ok but just “meh” for me
abi- sang west side story’s “a time for us” or whatever that song is called. i love that song and she did really well on it. i chill bumped the moment she started. it wasnt perfect but it was very good.
she won, and cried way too much and yes, on her knees crying when time was ticking, was way over the top. she is the best singer but some happy songs would be nice so that the young girls (and girly boys now days) dont kill themselves listening to her songs (and i mean that). you gotta be an AMERICAN idol and be someone to look up to, not to cry along with.
well, im going to miss you, as always, but until next year, God willing, lets do this again ok?
i enjoy this and look forward to it, thx to you.
My take on last night's show
I didn't post it, because I thought you might not want the results. But seems like you wanted my write up so here goes.
Round 1
1) Will- I thought it was a good song choice for him. Sang very well. And No KP he didn't sound like the artist, but he did sound very good nonetheless. Grade B+
2) Jack- Didn't love it. Hit some sour notes along the way. Paled in comp to the original. Just barely Average and I'm being nice. Grade C
3) Abi- Not my favorite song. Pitchey in parts. This clearly wasn't her best. Just average for me. Grade C
Round 2
1) Will- I thought this was another good song choice for him. He sang it very well. Very good performance. Grade B+
2) Jack- he didn't sound very good and I'm being nice. His tone sounded terrible on this song. Below Average. Grade D+
3) Abi- Had one little moment where she went off. Other than that it was brilliant. Have to take a little off for the small vocal imperfection. But still very good. Grade B+
They eliminate one. I thought it should be Jack. And it turned out to be Jack.
Round 3
1) Will- I thought his vocal was very good although the song was a little boring. But overall good is how I would rate it. Grade B
2) Abi- There was not much too that song. To say the audience was a little over the top with her was an understatement. Keep in Mind I thought she should win all along, but even I found the reaction so over the top. As for the performance and song, it was okay and or average. Grade C
Since this is cumalative eventhough will easily won the night, I still had Abi winning overall. America and clearly the audience agreed with me. Anyways that is my take. All is just my opinion of course.
im about to watch but…..
…
im used to you chiming in first.. i assume it taped last night, will watch now and post soon.
my take……..
….
round 1-
- abi- i see what you are saying about confetti in the mouth but she handled it well, but i didnt care for the song.
- triston- it was ok but just “meh” and he was so much better earlier in the show
- emmy- horrible as usual
- jack- it was good but boring. have you noticed no more dried spit in his lips lately? sorry, but someone has to say it to him and i think someone did so they either have him drinking more water or something.. i think he will win this. he has more talent over all, than the others, with moving around, engaging the audience, etc.
- will- odd song and not a good job on this one.
round 2-
- emmy- horrible again.
- triston- his poem to his mom got me sappy… he sang a hard song to do and it was NOT good.
- abi- rough start and just meh later on.
- jack- kids wont understand this old song but it was really good.
- will- he told his mom “you ain’t losing me, just sharing me” wow, what a great line! this was his type of song but it was just “meh” for me.
- you said emmy and triston go, so i cut the show off before that part.
i dont think the finale is next week, dont they kick off one and then the 2 compete last?
I think they changed that a few years ago. This upcoming sunday is the season finale. Hope this helps.
wow, i cant wait to……..
…
watch it tonight and comment but yes, i never understood confetti any time on this show.. poor abi, lol.
and wow, im thrilled to hear whiny crybaby emmy is gone. super sweet girl but she is NOT her grandmother and thats all that carried her along so far. sweet girl but thats all and she needs mental help. she is very depressed.
i think jack will when, but im happy with all 3 for now.
i dont think the finale is next week, dont they kick off one and then the 2 compete last?
My Take on the show last night.
Round 1
1) Abi- I thought she did an excellent job on that song. The vocal range was great, with excellent control. On a side note I don't know what genius had confetti falling down while she was singing, and letting it get in her mouth, what did they expect was gonna happen you have to open your mouth to sing. Excellent performance. Grade A
2) Triston- Can't say I loved this performance. It was a combo of draggy and nasally. Just barely average and I'm being nice. Grade C
3) Emmy In my opinion this song is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big for her, before I heard her sing it. And as we know I'm not her biggest fan. But she was far better than I thought she would be. Still pales in comp to the original. But slightly above average which for her is actually good. Grade C+
4) Jack- His performance was over the top for me. Didn't love the song for him, and the vocal was decent, but have seen much better the last several weeks. Grade C+
5) Will- I didn't love the song choice as I found it boring. Vocal was decent. Slightly Above Average. Grade C+
Round 2
1) Emmy- As we know not the strongest voice, wasn't terrible, heard her worse. Just average for me. Grade C
2) Triston- Lack of clarity when he is singing is not a plus on this one. Got like every 4th word at times. Can't say I like the vocal either. Slightly below average. Grade C-
3) Abi- Good Performance and Good Vocal. Not a perfect vocal, but still good. Grade B
4) Jack- A strange song/performance to say the least. Overall I liked it and thought it was good. Grade B
5) Will- I thought it was good. Not a perfect vocal, but I liked the song choice for him, and still think he did a good job. Grade B
My Two Cuts
Emmy
Triston
The Actual Two Cuts
Emmy- She should of been gone weeks ago, as her voice wasn't strong/good enough in my opinion.
Triston- I never been as high on him, but the last several weeks he has been getting worse. He is getting a combo of more nasally and less clear when singing, both of which are not a plus.
Obviously I agree with the choices. My Favorite for the last several weeks has emerged is Abi and it is not even close at this point. Tight for 2nd at this point for me. Anyways Abi, Will, and Jack will compete as the final 3. Next week I believe is the finale. We will see what happens. Anyways my take on last night's episode. All is just my opinion of course.
uh oh, guess what……
….
i just noticed, on youtube, as i have marked the “American idol” page, it shows the number of views for each act and sadly, emmy and then abi got the most and then jack is 3rd and the rest dont have as many views. that tells me that emmy may win even though she cant sing, but abi i nearly tied.
lets see if that give us an idea how this all plays out.
here’s my take on sunday's show….
…
and i see there are no more monday shows, just sunday until the 2 week finale it appears.
round 1, ding ding…
- jack- he may just take the whole thing. i thought triston, will or mckennah would but it just may be jack. now, having said that, they keep emmy in for who her g/ma was and for that reason, as you say, popularity, yet she cant sing well, will she win? nice girl, horrible singer.
- julia- you hated it and i agree, it was horrible
- abi- i didnt like it
- mckennah- she was good but her virus, over the 3 weeks, really took her down along with her boring sappy songs.
- will- great song choice! but he didnt dance like the lady asked him to, lol
- emmy- you hated it and i agree, it was horrible
- triston- agreed, it was not good and he was gasping for air with just a little movement. he will be super overweight when he gets older, so, he may be done. he was one of my favs too.
round 2- ding ding ding…
- mckennah- boring, like you said, and too sappy, so, that was her doom.
- will- bad song choice, worst song for me, from him, so far
- julia- boring, not good
- emmy- horrible and she always looks so nervous- she should have gone before mckennah
- triston- this was not his “wheel house” and it was awful.
- abi - you loved it but i am so tired of sappy poor me songs but it was just ok for me.
im sad about how its going nearing the end.. i was hoping for much better talent but having said that, they have to learn tons of songs that are not even sung on camera yet, so, lets keep that in mind.
at this point, its a crap shoot but if emmy wins, i will not be happy.
ah, ok! yes, you ……
….
have to spell things out for me at times, lol
Both went they cut two to take it from 7 to 5. Hope this helps.
forgive me, my brain is not working as well after this crazy virus i had, still kind of dealing with, but im still not clear. did one or both go?
Here's your answer. Hope this helps.
The Actual Bottom 2
Mckennah- Can't say I'm surprised after being saved last week by the judges. Clearly wasn't popular.
Julia- Was a little more surprised on her figured Emmy had to go eventually, but just like contestant go because they are unpopular, some stay for the exact same reason, that can be said about emmy. As for Julia, she did have a not very good 1rst performance which didn't help her either.
they are keeping……
….
emmy ONLY for views, as they know she is the g/d of a great singer. thats the only reason she remains and its not fair.
so, who went home? i saw the bottom 2, but did both go or just one?
im said that you said triston is slipping but he cried last time saying he doesnt want the money or attention to bring him away from God, so, maybe he lost the will to fight now?
i will watch it tonight.
My Take on the show last night
Round 1
1) Jack- not my favorite song. But I thought he sang it well, and had fun performing. Not normally his style. But it worked for me. I thought it was very good. Grade B+
2) Julia- As one knows I'm normally a fan, but this in my opinion was one of her weaker performance to date, if not her worst. Lots of pitch issues and yelling. Below average performance. Grade D+
3) Abi- Singing a FOB Song. Got to say she did a great job not getting thrown off by catching the equipment that came lose. She did a great job performing and a near excellent vocal for me. Grade A-
4) Mckennah Singing a KP Song. Overall I thought the vocal was very good. The bad news is the performance was a bit stiff. So I take a little away from that. Still good though. Grade B
5) Will- I thought the vocal was good, the song however was bit boring though for me. Thought the overall performance was solid. Grade B-
6) Emmy- Her tone doesn't sound very good. Didn't like her changes on the arrangement. How the way she sang it is suppose to make you want to dance I will never know. The judges loved it again, I just don't get it. Well below average vocal and performance for me. Grade D
7) Triston- Singing a TT Song. In my opinion he is getting worse. Alot of the song I thought his voice was drowned out by the band. And in other parts I don't think he was very clear either. In parts felt like I was getting every 3rd word. Just barely average for me. Grade C
Round 2
1) Mckennah- A Little bit boring and draggy, a decent vocal, but not great either. Slightly above average, but nothing better than that. Grade C+
2) Jack-I tought he did a very good job on that song. Very good vocal and performance. Grade B+
3) Will- Singing one of my favorite songs from this songbook. Having said that will seemed off in parts, one of his weaker performances to date. Just barely average and I'm being nice. Grade C
4) Julia- Singing another one of my favorite songs from this songbook. As for Julia, not perfect, but still good for me. Grade B
5) Emmy- Much better than her first performance, granted the bar was really low to surpass that. Her tone/vocal didn't bother me as much on this song overall. Just average for me. Grade C
6) Triston- Seemed flat in the beginning, and than the middle to the end was just okay. Just average at best. Grade C
7) Abi- Singing another one of my favorite songs from this songbook. This was another near excellent vocal for me, she did it differently, but it still sounded very good. Grade A-
My Bottom 2
Emmy-she is the weakest singer out of the group and it isn't even close.
Triston- I have not been a huge fan recently as his performances seem to be getting weaker for me. Although I acknowlege he had no shot being in the bottom 2 as I thought he was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too popular.
Anyways that is my take on the show. All is just my opinion of course.
omg, i see that i forgot to mention emmy- she is ONLY there cause of her “heritage” thats all.
sweet girl but horrible singer. and i didnt like that she sang “coal miner’s daughter” in basically one note. hated it.
tell me that you….
….
listened to the link/song. its a great song.
The Abi performance in my opinion was the best performance of the whole season (Not even close), yes it was that good. The popularity of emmy is very confusing to me, I just don't get it. And I think we found out mckennah isn't popular. Those are the three things that really stuck with me overall from this week in my opinion.
agreed, so, here is my…….
….
take on the show.
i just watched it and OMG what is this show doing to me? im crying like a baby at the very end! lol.
here we go….
- Will - I LOVED ITTTTT!!!!! i thought it was the bomb. the band’s music had a little mix of “she’s got the goldmine, i got the shaft” by jerry reed. do you recall that song? if not, its a great one, please click here to listen to it. my hubby, who rarely sings, if we ever go to karaoke, does a hell of a job on this song.. here ya go..
The fact that she was bottom 2 was surprising. Although every year there are 1 or two singers that in theory should go much farther than they do, but for whatever reason they are unpopular. It does say the chances of her winning the show are now highly unlikely. Probably she will be out by next week.
To be fair I thought mckennah song last night was very boring. The judges were going nuts how great the song is. and I just didn't get it, and neither did America Apparently. It was also a very disjointed song the way it was done. So maybe people vote based on week to week, and if that's the case she wasn't great last night with that song, than again I don't think anybody could be in my opinion. Granted I just think she is unpopular, but the song didn't help in my opinion.
holy moly! first of all… .
…
i still have to watch the show tonight, but you said jack is growing on you, i told you, from the start, if you look away, he is really good and unique.
wow, they voted mckennah out? but judges saved her? wow. shocking, i was sure she was top 3
My take on Monday's show
Here goes.
1) Will- Picked a JC Song, wouldn't of been the choice out of the three choices he had. Was good for what it was. But every song seemingly sounds the same, the only difference is the words for me at this point. Solid performance though, but would be better with a better song. Grade B-
2) Kaibrienne- Sings a more current hit by OR. I thought she picked the right song when I seen her choices. Having said that I liked it in parts, but she pitchey in a number of parts too. Thankfully she didn't break down when she got emotional this time so that is a plus I guess. Just barely above average pitch issues held it obviously back for me. Grade C+
3) Mckennah-Would of made a different choice on the song if I was her. I didn't like the song or at least the way she did it was a combo of boring and disjointed. Her voice sounded fine on it, so made it solid, but that is all it could be on a song like that and too be fair I might be being generous with the grade here. Grade B-
4) Jack- Didn't love any of his choices on the board, but felt he picked the best out of the bunch. He tries singing without his guitar, can't remember him doing that, now at times he didn't know what to do with his hands. Having said all that it really didn't matter his best vocal to date. I really love it. Great vocal with good emotional feel coming off it. Near excellent. Now he is starting to grow on me, because he backed it up with the previous night that I liked as well, although this performance was significantly better. Grade A-
5) Abi- This was the most obvious song choice out of the three choices of anyone. I think she obviously picked the right song. Also happens to be one of my many favorite songs again. I loved how she sang the song, she felt it throughout the performance, it almost like the judges said felt like we weren't watching a competition, but a live concert of a star that has allready made it. It was really good for me. Excellent. Grade A
6) Julia- Singing OTR, she had a very unique take on the song. I really really liked the performance, but admittingly I can see some people not liking her version. But I loved the performance with the excellent vocal control she had in it. Near Excellent. Grade A-
7) Triston- Didn't love his tone on that song, as it was very nasally for me. Just average for me. Grade C
8) Emmy Sings her grandmother's song. Emotionally well delivered, but her tone is only gonna make it so good, but it was better than some performance. Slightly above average. Grade C+
The Duets
1) Jack and Emmy- First Duet was jack and emmy. Singing a LR song, in fact my favorite song from LR. Jack sounded good, and Emmy was a unmitigated disaster on the duet.
2) Triston and Will- Sing a LB Song. Didn't love the song. I thought Will sounded much better and clearer than Triston. But performance didn't exactly show off the best of either in my opinion.
3) Julia, Abi, Mckennah, and Kaibrienne- Sing a KP Song together. Kaibrienne sticks out like a sore thumb, because of how much the other 3 can out sing her in my opinion.
My Bottom 2
Emmy-Would of been my cut.
Kaibrienne-
The actual bottom 2
Kaibrienne- Can't say I'm surprised.
Mckennah- A little surprised to say the least, guess she isn't popular. Although her song was a bit boring last night, but still don't get how people like emmy voice over her's.
KP (Judges) Save Mckennah, which was the right choice.
Well that is my thoughts for last night's show. Just my opinion of course.
my take on sunday’s show….
…
first of all, i had no idea that was Shania Twain until they said so. wigs, faces altered, strange stuff.
- mia- you hated it and i agree, it was horrible.
- jack- you loved it and my (late) mom used to LOVE that song so we sang it at karaoke. anyway, i didnt love it as much as i thought i would, being you loved it.
- mckennah- you loved it, but i thought it started way too low for her, but it got way better. you can hear she is still sick and i get that as, 2 weeks later, im still dealing with the pneumonia part of this mess i caught.
- kayko- horrible
- emmy- nope
- triston- you said the band was too loud but i heard him pretty good. he did too much reaching out to the crowd and he is heavy, so, he got winded. if he is heavy now,he will be huge later. that may be an issue for him. also, his “dancing” was a little odd for me.
- abi- it was oddly good
- julia- nope
- will- wow, i LOVED it. you were not as thrilled.
- kaib- more sappy crap and sooooo boring.
- as you said, mia and kayko go bye bye, lol
i think its between mckennah and …
…
triston. triston is young and they want young, to mold and be their puppet. so i wonder if he will win.
i knew that funny face would…..
…
grow on you.
I'm not sure he grew on me, I would have to like him more than 1 performance to say that, a lot of contestants can have a good performance along the way. Plenty of these contestants it is up and down with. with some having more ups or more down depending on the contestant. Heck alot of the contestants that have been eliminated allready I felt the ups and downs.
Kaibrienne-mixed
Jack-mixed still slightly on the glass half empty
Emmy-mixed still slightly on the glass half empty
The other 5 are varying degrees of positive right now. With mckennah being my favorite out of the bunch in my opinion.
i knew that funny face would…..
…
grow on you.
i will watch tonight after the hubby hits the hey, stay tuned.
My Take on Last Night's Show
The top 10 performed last night at the end they cut it to 8. before a further cut tomorrow after another round of performances. Here goes.
1) Mia- Singing a ST song. It was pitchey mess for me. Well below average. Worst performance of the night for me and not even close. Grade D
2) Jack- Funny face guy than performs, as One know I'm not his biggest fan. And I don't always love his tone, combined with the facial expressions. Having said that I love the arrangement, and his interpetaion of the song, with him putting his version on it, sounded very good to me. Best we heard from him so far. Very good. Grade B+
3) Mckennah- Singing a GGD Song, one of my many favorite songs. I really love how she sang that song, and the vocal was really really good. Near excellent performance for me. Grade A-
4) Kayko- Thankfully he didn't do that crazy rendition of BS Song, that would of been a trainwreck of monumental proportions. Having said that the vocal was fine on the song he choose. But his manic performing style and a little too theatrical for me. Just average at best. Once he stopped singing his own songs (Obviously can't with the themes), he in my opinion has fallen off a cliff. Grade C
5) Emmy- I'm not her biggest fan. Here's a positive for the first time it looked like she was having fun on a stage. So that is a plus. I liked the song choice for her (Not a song would you expect her to choose), and it was solid for me. Still her tone will only get me so positive. Grade B-
6) Triston- Singing a JA Song. In my opion the band was too loud in the beginnign and drowned him out in parts. Overal the vocal was decent and the performance was decent. Solid performance. Grade B-
7) ABI- I continue to say she is one of the strangest singers in the competiton. Singing a CP song. She had a numbers of decent moments in the song, but didn't love all the vocal choices. And a little pitchey in small parts of the song. Still Solid. Grade B-
8) Julia- Singing a BA Song. I continue to say she has the best voice when she doesn't power up. Overall I liked it very good vocal and performance. Grade B+
9) Will- Singing a TT Song. Overall I thought it was pretty good. Not my favorite song though. Good, not great. Grade B
10) Kaibreinne- Singing another one of my many favorite song. Good song choice, and a good performance for her. She has her ups and downs for me, but this week more up than down. Grade B
My Bottom 2
Mia
Kayko
The Actual Bottom 2
Mia- Obvious choice
Kayko- In recent weeks, with his manic performances, he has fell in my rankings.
Well this is my take. All is just my opinion of course.
so, today i took a…
…
little short cut. i just feel so awful, i never really got to feel better and in the last few hours, i feel worse, so i watched them sing here on line as youtube had an American idol youtube page. they showed all but the ones that got the boot (jayna and roman) so i didnt see them..
- abi- meh
- will- pitchy but a fun song
- jack- i like it
- emmy- i just do NOT like her voice, its like she’s on helium.
- triston- good but not great this time.
- julia- it was ok but boring
- kaib- boring and off key
- mckenna- still sick but did quite well. she and triston are my favs, i may have said that before but im sure now.
- kayko- i just do not like this guy and it was awful
Well it is not shocking that it wasn't as good in my opinion. You would spend more time preparing your first song, since it was the first one that you would perform and wouldn't know if you were gonna be there for the 2nd song. Hence more prep work and thought would have to go to the 1rst song on sunday for the simple reason if you don't do good there you might not be around to sing on Monday.
wow, sounded like a bit of a….
…
bust and i will watch it wed night, stay tuned.
My Take on last night's show
Well here is my take on last night's show.
1) Abi- Singing a TS Song. Started off a little slow and boring. Than when she got to the middle to end it was a bit pitchey in parts. She has been much better alot of times, including on sunday where she was really good. This one however was just Average for me. Grade C
2) Will- Sining a CS Song, much better than the previous night. Good vocal and Good performance. Grade B
3) Jayna- A very good vocal, not perfect, but very good. Good stage presence as well. Grade B+
4) Mia- As you know I'm not her biggest fan. But I really liked her on that song. Her tone actually sounded good on that song. Good and well controlled vocal. Very good performance, by far the best we heard her. Grade B+
5) Roman- He tried to totally strip down a KP Song at first with him on the piano. The vocal started off with a not sound very good vocal on the piano, that than transitioned into his usual overdone yelling and screaming once he left the piano. Didn't like it was an understatement. Well below average. Grade D
6) Jack- Funny face guy is back at it. His prenunciation wasn't great, and I didn't like the arrangement of the song. His vocal was just okay at best. Overall slightly below average. Grade C-
7) Emmy- Don't like her tone on this song for starters. I found that somewhat hard to listen too. Below average for me. Grade D+
8) Triston- Started off a little flat for me. It got better once it got going. But still the whole performance was missing something. Not his best to say the least. Slightly above average. Grade C+
9) Julia- Not a perfect vocal, but very very good. Might have the best voice in the competition when she is not powering up. Clear and cut through perfectly. Everyonce in a while she can still confuse power with yelling/screaming. As for this performance for the most part it was very good. She has a really good two days in my opinion, she made a move up my standings. Grade B+
10) Kaibreinne- Singing a MC Song, his some bad notes along the way, also hit some good ones two. But the song in my opinion was too big for her. Her voice is cracking because it is too big for her, and the judges for some reason loved it. can't say I got that very much. Barely average for me and I might be being generous. Grade C
11) Mckennah- Obviously still fighting being sick. But overall I think she pulled off the vocal pretty well and like the performance. I found it very good. Grade B+
12) Kayko- Where Julie and Jayna had A good week in my view, Kayko had a bad week. First I didn't think think the vocal was bad at all. Problem is he changed this song to a rock song, I have to be honest I didn't like it that way. And his performance style was very manic which I also didn't like. It was so over the top it was just too much for me. The judges loved it. I just thought it was average. Grade C
My Bottom 2
Roman
Emmy
The two that were eliminated
Roman-Obviously agree
Jayna- Strongly disagreed with this choice, she sings well, she just wasn't popular in my opinion.
Anyways that is my take on last night's show. All is just my opinion of course.
wowza! i just finished the…
..
show, sooooo, here we goooo!
- triston (you liked it) and I LOVED IT! but he was just a little weak right at the end.
- julia- (you loved it) and wow wow wow, omg, you were spot on. it was amazing.
- roman- started off good but seemed he forgot some words? then boom the song was over. not sure what just happened there. lol
- kaib- she looked amazing but a “rocker” she is NOT. but she did ok
- jayna- it was excellent actually!
- mia- you gave this one a “d” but i actually liked it. its country “twang” so maybe thats what was off for you? that “dragging up” the notes, its twangy and meant to be that way.
- kayko- nope
- emmy- looked beautiful but was horrible.
- jordan - NOPE!
- mckennah- i love her in general but due to her cold, she was not great, but she deserves a pass. i hope she stays. i have not seen tonights show yet. i will tomorrow.
- jack (funny face, lol).. he is really growing on me.. i loved it.
- nya- ok, that was a big time full on PRO performance right there! i am impressed!
- will- yipes, you were so right. it was not good, in fact, it was bad. sigh.
- abi- you loved it. i thought it was hauntingly good.
my fav is triston. he should win the show. but if not, i would love to se mckennah take it.
you are so sweet. you really are.
do you read my replies back to you? you are so quiet, im never really sure. but i love chatting with you about all this.
I do read the replies, just often don't have much to say to add, because there were no question asked or at least I didn't think you were looking for a reply.
you cracked me up when you said “a sprinkle of screaming”!! im over here hacking up a lung (laughing) since im still dealing with pneumonia, lol.
Hope you feel better by the way.
im sad that you say Will wasnt very good. but he was a bit pitchy at times before and stuff. but i think triston is the one to beat, he is young, dedicated to this and is what American needs. im looking forward to watching tonight.
I don't think he was terrible. He was decent, just for him I expect better. I personally didn't love the song for him. As I felt it did nothing for him. Song choice is such a factor to whether a performance is good. True better singers have bigger windows (More songs that will sound good) than lesser singers, but at the end of the day if the right song isn't choosen it will hold everyone back to varying degrees.
but i think triston is the one to beat
I like him, but I'm not sure he would make my top 5 if I'm being honest. he is right around 5-7 in my rankings right now. But I think America will have him higher than me. All is just my opinion of course.
I LOVED YOUR ….
…
review here. Im going to watch it tonight after the hubby hits the sack.

My Take on the show last night
Well the top 14 Sang last night at the end of it they announced the bottom 2. and we were left with 12 at the end of the night. so here goes.
1) Triston- Singing a EP Song, anytime generally somebody covers a EP Song in these competitions I generally always find it to be a trainwreck. Now in this case, overall I like it. It was more different than his normal routine as he was moving around the stage alot more. He sang well, don't always love his tone at times. But it was still good. Grade B
2) Julia- Have to admit didn't know WH was in the R & R HOF, don't get me wrong she was a great singer one of the best in my lifetime ever, but she is not a R & R singer. Which means they put alot of non R & R singers there I guess. Sang one of the big 3 from perhaps the greatest soundtrack of all time at least one of them. A Very Very good vocal, on a high degree of difficultly song. I thought it was near excellent. Sang very well. Grade A-
3) Roman- I really didn't like the way he sang that song, and the arrangement. At usual it was completely overdone. I found it slight below average. Grade C-
4) Kaibrienne- Actually one of the few that sang a real rock song in my opinion by JJ. Been up and down with her, because at time she doesn't control her emotion on stage very well, like last week with the stop and starts. But this week singing a non original song, and more of a non ballad. I thought she did very well on the song. I thought it was very good vocal and performance from her. Her best to date in my opinion. Grade B+
5) Jayna- Singing another WH song from the big 3 from the great soundtrack. She did a very good job singing that song on a high degree of a difficultly. Very good vocal. I liked it alot. Grade A-
6) Mia- She is pitchey and her tone isn't very good on that song. Well below average. Really didn't like it, one of the worst performances of the night in my opinion. Grade D
7) Kayko- Singing a RH Song. First time he was singing a cover, and not an original song. Normally I really, really like him, however I thought this was his weakest perfromance to date. Don't love the song, and didn't love how he did it. Just average for me. Grade C
8) Emmy- Singing a big BR Hit. She was making progress the last couple of weeks. But I thought her tone was not great on this, a little pitchy and whiney in parts. below average. Grade D+
9) Jordan- Singing yet another WH Song. Not a perfect vocal and several issues in parts. His falsetto could use improvement. I liked him better in the beginning of the competition than I do now. Slightly above average and I might be being generous. Grade C+
10) Mckennah- Singing one of my favorite songs from this group. They said she was sick, and too be honest it appeared she still was even now. Having said that, I still thought the vocal was really solid, and it gave off emotion as well. I thought it was good overall. Grade B
11) Jack- Singing a BD Song. Funny face guy, don't love his tone on that song. Medicore vocal for me. Thought that was the wrong song for him. Just average. Grade C
12) Nya- Singing a AF Song, a combo of pitchey, a not so great song, with a sprinkle of screaming. Didn't like her arrangement of the song either. Judges love it, I just don't get it. Well Below Average for me. Grade D
13) Will- Might of been his weakest performance to date. Not my favorite song for him to say the least. Still solid as his quality tone and good voice will make the performance only fall so far though. Grade B-
14) Abi- Singing a EJ Classic. I continue to say she is one of the strangest/unique singers I have ever heard, she takes alot of unusual vocal choices throughout the song. As for this song I liked it, it was emotional and perhaps a little eerie in a good way. Very good vocal, near excellent perfromance for me. Grade A-
My Bottom 2
Nya
Mia
The Actual Bottom 2
Nya and Jordan
Well today the top 12 will sing again for 10 spots. Time will tell. All is just my opinion of course.
i just watched it, so…..
….
i found it to be more enjoyable than i expected, just the general setting, the way they went through them, tossed them on stage with “handlers” putting a mic in front of them, guitar on them, etc. it was fun.
now, im mostly posting the names of who i liked tonight and then a couple “comments” outside of that..
- mckenna - i really like her a lot, and she did good. so classy and cool too.
- jack, yes, funny face didnt do that but still had a ton of foamy spit around all his teeth, makes him so hard to watch, but he did good.
- mia, very good.
- Will - YIPPY!! so glad but he did hit a couple pitchy notes. i noticed several doing that, as some times the mic was too low and i dont think they could hear themselves.
- abi - it was good, she slipped on the louder notes, but good.
(NOT- emma - she should NOT have gone through and what the hell was she wearing? lol. )
- triston - YIPPY! again, the mic was not loud enough, he did great but a tad pitchy too.
roman, who i dont care for the spazziness, did put out an over the top emotional song, but its way way over the top too the point it was embarrassing. he looked like he was about to murder someone.
I'm fine. I'm not sick. Not feeling that great was towards the mental state of contestant after hearing they didn't make it. My problem was I used the word I which clearly was wrong and see how you came to that conclusion. Than again nobody ever confused me with a great writter. LOL. My strength has always been numbers in my opinion.
wow, ok, well, i will skim the…
…
show since you gave great details on it. i hope you are not getting what i have. its no fun, throat gets like hot needle poke feeling, in the lower throat, that makes you cough so hard, your eyes pop out. take vit d3 and zinc.
Last Night's Show
Now the top 10 get through by America, the next 4 by the judges. All 20 had to sing, although I have to honest wasn't much of a grader on these, because either they were singing through, i made it, hence this performance doesn't matter that much, or I didn't make it, and I'm not feeling that great right now. So I watched performances, but some of them sang songs, they allready sung. And quite frankly as a whole the performances weren't great but to be fair given the conditions I stated earlier, your not gonna get the best results out of anyone at that point, with basic human nature in my opinion.
Since It was a top 10 (My Top 10 would of been) (No Particular order)
1) Triston
2) Odell
3) Kayko
4) Jordan
5) Quintavious
6) Jayna
7) Abi
8) Will
9) Mckennah
10) Julie
The top 10 America set through
1) Mckennah-agreed
2) Jack- Funny face guy would of made my top 14, but not my top 10.
3) Mia-Wouldn't of made the top 14 let alone the top 10. She is not very good alot of times don't get what America is seeing there.
4) Kayko- agreed
5) Will-agreed
6) Abby- agreed
7) Kaibrienne- Ms. Stop and Start, obviously wouldn't be part of my top 10 or top 14. America clearly disagreed here. I thought what she did in that song, should of been automatically eliminated you forget a bunch of word or you come to a screeching halt and just sit there for a few seconds multiple times. You in my opinion should not make it through. The funny thing is she actually sounded her best with the performance tonight, after getting the news she went through. Is it because she wasn't singing a original song (Cover) Let her perform better, or is it that she didn't have the pressure since she knew she was in, hence all of a sudden she had better control of the emotions. Time will tell.
8) Emmy- Would of made my top 14, but not my top 10.
9) Julie- agreed
10) Triston- agreed
The other 10 sing, as I said I personally didn't put much stock into last night's performance, so I would of made my top 4 picks based on how I feel about the contestants overall.
Too be fair I would of taken
1) Odell
2) Jayna
3) Jordan
4) To be honest could of been 2 to 4 people for that last spot so was kind of indifferent.
The Judges took
1) Jayna-Absolutely Agreed
2) Jordan-Absolutely Agreed
3) Nya- Judges love her, all I hear is a bunch of pitch issues with a bit of screaming most times she goes out there for me. Wouldn't of been my choice.
4) Roman- Judges loved him last night. I thought it was more of the same. Over the top, and manic. I would of passed on him as well, but the judges loved it.
So the top 14 turned out to be.
1) Mckennah
2) Jack
3) Mia
4) Kayko
5) Will
6) Abby
7) Kaibrienne
8) Emmy
9) Julie
10) Triston
11) Jayna
12) Jordan
13) Nya
14) Roman
Anyways well hope you feel better. That is my take. Most of the performances as whole last night weren't that great. But you couldn't expect them to be. Either they are excited and going through the motions, or disappointed/nervous they didn't get through. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
