Well if they want to do something useful, tell them to aim a laser in the direction of the Presidential Debates.
I think the ETs think we are a bunch of 5 years out to destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons we have as toys. That is why they fly over Nuclear facilities to check us out. They do not think we are capable to control our emotions. That is also the reason the ETs are keeping a low profile from having "Lets meet your leader day" on the 6 Oclock news. I know I have seen some of them flying around in the sky.
The only thing I can think of that will fix the world is an alien invasion.....Cue the music for Resident Alien...
Unfortunately the world needs to grow up and act like adults. We still have 30 - 60 year old children in charge of some things.
IMHO.
When I see movies like that, it makes me wonder how much we have disappointed our ancestors. Generations of people working to make a better world has been replaced by girls on Tik Tok.
Both movies show in a masterful way the true humanity of people and the extremes they are willing to go to achieve their goals for good or bad. These movies dramatized these goals like masterpieces with the acting the stage setups and the mood and tempo of the movies and great screenplay story lines.
All in all it's been decades since I have seen movies as well done as Cabrini. A true sleeper masterpiece. Wait for next years Oscar's and we shall see what Hollywood thinks.
Take Care friend.
SM.
I saw Cabrini yesterday, and would have to agree it was very good. I don't know if I'd compare it to Godfather as much as Gangs of New York.
Cristiana Dell'Anna will be an early favorite for Best Actress.
I'd give the movie 3.25 pickles.
I think you mean "exorbitant".
I'd say there have always been some good and some trash movies. Debbie Does Dallas wasn't the Godfather.
Go watch Bubba Ho Tep from 2002. 20 years later and it still makes no sense to me.
However, in regards to the Oscars, it seems Hollywood is on a mission to reward all the groups they've felt guilty of ignoring over the decades.
Was very surprised Killers of the Flower Moon didn't win all the awards last night. They've spent the last 10 years rewarding minority groups who have made ok movies rather than awarding the Best Movie of the year.
12 Years a slave over Wolf of Wall Street?
Parasite over JoJo Rabbit?
Everything, everywhere all at once over The Fabelmans??? Or pretty much anything?
Or even the fact that Barbie was even selected?? Women empowerment??
I guess I agree with you, not necessarily that movies are garbage, but that the supposed message being sent is.
These days some of the movies are pure garbage a 6th grader could do a better job. On the opposite side movies like Cabrini make Hollywood justify paying their exorbited bills.
Most movies exhibiting homosexuality are pure trash.
The only exception to this conclusion was the movie "Some like it hot" with Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe.
I AM a huge history buff and watched the previews of Cabrini Saturday. I will go see it.
Instead I went to see Drive Away Dolls. I cannot recall a worse movie I've seen. First off, not that it's a huge deal...well, I guess it was a big deal, but the previews do not show this is a movie made purely for Lesbians. From the opening scene of Andie McDowell's daughter going down on Jonah Hills sister, to the later scenes of Andie's daughter using Matt Damon's dildo, the movie was a total waste.....think Natural Born Killers, mixed with Pulp Fiction, then add in an Ernest Goes to Jail vibe.
How they ever got so many good actors to agree to this movie is beyond me.
I'd give this movie far less than a pickle, barely more than a speck of relish. Perhaps whatever comes out of you after you've eaten a hot dog with relish.
I went to see CABRINI yesterday and I was absolutely surprised because I loved this movie and I did not expect to get such a reation. It was like watching the GODFATHER part I without all the killings. I think this movie will be the sleeper winner of 2024 and a big OSCAR winner for its screenplay, the overall acting and so on. Its amazing how some gems get into theaters and no one even knows about them. I go to see many AMC movies because I have the A-List membership and if I did not I would not have seen this movie. What a great lady (Mrs Cabrini) who helped so many people in the late 1890s. This movie is a giant amongsts the movies (like Sound of Freedom) that Angel studios has produced lately. I strongly suggest you go to see this movie if you are any sort of history buff kind of person.
Thanks again Angel Studios for creating an amazing movie.
Job Well Done.
I don't recall the first season of Fargo, but I do recall liking it. I also liked the one that just wrapped up.
I've watched parts of The Lobster a few times and it seemed boring and dumb so never made it to the end.
Uncut Gems was one of the more disturbing movies I've seen. It was one giant roller coaster with no redeeming characters, although the hooker girlfriend came closest. I was happy to see Adam Sandler die. Never rooted so hard for the demise of a main character.
I enjoyed the very first season of Fargo, with Billy Bob Thornton, the rest sucked.
What's the point of the movie The Lobster?
"The Lobster" is a surreal dark comedy that explores human behavior and relationships,
touching on topics like social pressure and conformity. The film's satirical style presents a world
that seems absurd and irrational, while also making it believable for the audience.
Rotting in the Sun
2023 ? Comedy/Thriller
Rotting in the Sun Is a Deliciously Grim Comedy for the Social Media Age.
Sebastián Silva and Jordan Firstman play fictionalized versions of themselves.
Why Uncut Gems is a masterpiece?
An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, with a breathtaking performance
from Adam Sandler and mesmerizing visuals from cinematographer Darius Khondji.
Probably an unComedy viewing experience,
Season 8 Witches return to American Horror Story (Apocalypse).
To me, an must-see not too horror watch experience.
The male warlock was an excellent portrayal of an evil in human form.
.
Comedies! You need to watch a comedy.
BTW, we've gotten into Loudermilk. A dark comedy, but pretty funny stuff.
vibe is gloomy and eerie
Turkish
Hot Skull (TV Mini Series 2022)
A dystopian society traveling around contemporary social issues pandemic, state pressure, totalitarianism, resistance, individualism, and ...
.
Sounds intriguing. What network?
You've never had an epiphany??
The moment you learned something that you never knew before and it gave you another way to look at things?
One of my expressions is..."you don't know what you don't know".....which nowhere does that seem truer than on IHUB.
But the moment, you learn that one thing, it can change you forever. Think of the first time you understood the concept of arithmetic. This should be something video-ed for kids going forward. I've been trying to teach my grandchild recently....I showed him 2+3 of something and asked him how many. He said "Five!"....I thought he was a genius.......until I showed him 3+4 and he said "Five!"
When daughter_derf was about 4 or 5 years old I had taken some popsicle sticks, colored them and broke them in half and quarters and thirds, and taught her fractions. Today she tells me this gave her a love of math. That epiphany moment is a great thing to view in action. It's what I strive for here with penny stocks and so rarely achieve it. Maybe daughter_derf is just a genius and I'm not the teacher I think I am.
Anyway.....where were we?....ahhhh yes, epiphanies.
A baffling situation.
For most folks it is difficult to understand the ending of this 20 minute Turkish animated film (2019).
Embarking on a ship in hopes of finding a new habitable planet, a man is trapped when his robot tells him every potential planet is unsuitable.
The ending at 19 minutes presents one with an unexpected WTF.
Those that have the ability to grasp the ending: janice shell, Churak and Meatloaf
Those that might: derfie and Paulie Cashews
No chance: BobZ and Matt

New on T.V. today.
Hustlers Gamblers Crooks
Crime • Docudrama
True stories of high-stakes underdogs who risked it all to change their futures.
A roulette dealer discovers a way to cheat for his favorite customers;
a cocky pool hustler gets held at gunpoint;
a high-stakes gambler ends up in a Vegas car chase with $4.5 million in cash in his back seat.
I never had an epiphany experience,
and doubt they actually happen,
for anyone, as such, for a life changing.
Those that say so, I'll say it's just a weak mind's reaction.
.
I like Steve Buscemi as an actor, but didn't really care for either of those movies you mentioned....and I really wanted to like Reservoir Dogs as I am a big Quentin Tarantino fan.....well many of his movies. Many are over the top with violence and bloodshed and apparently, women's feet.
You've never seen Young Frankenstein??
It will change your life.
Susie is the only person I've ever met who hated The Princess Bride (its in my top 10 Surprise List).
I think she dated Mandy Patinkin long ago and he never called her back. She has never forgiven him.
Intriguing movie. Left ya considering the possibilities.
Movies with Steve Buscemi are very good...
(best examples)
Desperado (film) with Antonio Banderas
Reservoir Dogs
.
Good Grief, Where have I been, ...
... I have not seen any of those you mentioned!
The Princess Bride (what's with Susie about this one?)
Young Frankenstein.
Ferris Beuller
Something About Mary
Eurotrip
Kung Pow
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (I think BobZ liked this one)
.
Denzel Washington and John Goodman in Fallen (1998 film)
I'd recommend The Princess Bride but Susie will get mad at me.
Besides that, I'd say my idea of the funniest movies ever would include
Young Frankenstein.
Ferris Beuller
Something About Mary
Eurotrip
Kung Pow
My son would force me to add....Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Ya know, I've never truly considered that a comedy. John Goodman was violent and Julianne Moore was just weird in it.
I always thought being stoned would have made that movie much better.
The Big Lebowski ?
You need to watch some comedies. You are getting too dark. Go watch a season of Seinfeld (not the first two seasons though)
A movie with an incredibly gloomy atmosphere.
In a post-apocalyptic world, six soldiers on a covert mission must transport a mysterious package across a frozen archipelago.
Black Crab (film)
.
I cheated and read the Cliff Notes version. Why and how are you finding these types of movies? Ever watch a comedy?
You want greed and gluttony morals. Watch Willy Wonka.
A movie that I'm assured no one here can conjecture this plot about food...
... from the image.
The Platform (film)

Also, for some reason HBO is running all the Soprano's episodes pretty much every day, all day. I find myself getting sucked into 3 episodes at a time.
How did I not grasp what a truly awful person Tony Soprano was? First time around I found him whimsical.
Is the PC generation changing even ME????
(spoiler alert)
Tony pretty much kills everyone!
So right now we are watching Lincoln Lawyer. Not bad, but no Breaking Bad.
It's definitely a more realistic lawyer show than Suits (which I guess is coming back).
The legal system is much more expedient when they are paying for air time. Perhaps the legal system should turn all their courtrooms into prime time TV.
Looks like I'd have to read subtitles the whole time and I hate that. Not to mention, I found Pan's Labyrinth boring.
Nice fantasy horror film.
Errementari (The Blacksmith and the Devil)
Errementari is blacksmith in the Basque language.
Is Errementari a good movie?
It has been compared to other dark fantasy films such as Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone, both of which are known for their eerie and fantastical storytelling. If you enjoy atmospheric and visually stunning horror/fantasy films with strong folklore elements, you may find Errementari to be a compelling watch.
How scary is Errementari?
It's not really a true horror movie; almost more a morality play based on Basque folklore, and is scary in a proper "Grimm's Fairy Tales" sort of way.
yes, i did notice that one and made a note to watch
I have one on Netflix that you MUST watch. In fact, everyone needs to.....
Money Explained.
Brutally truthful.
Episode 1 is for IHUBbers
Not for the squeamish.
Which may be an understatement. (i.e.) #3 "The Autopsy"
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities
It features eight modern horror stories in the traditions of the Gothic and Grand Guignol genres.

Belgian series is golden,
German series sucks big time,
British series not yet viewed.
Professor T. (Belgian TV series) - the original series, which ran for 3 seasons in 2015, 2016 and 2018.

Professor T. (German TV series) - 2017 remake.

Professor T. (British TV series) - 2021 remake airing on ITV and Britbox.

Yes, some good, some not, and some were like reading my old gotMilk posts.
So far less than half I watched.
I finished the 11 episodes of The_Sandman and enjoyed the first 4 or so,
then the Woke movement took charge and shitted on it. Might be a second
season, so hopefully it's made unWoked.

A board to review, talk about, recommend your favorite movies, tv shows - reality and otherwise, actors, music, books, food, anything you feel like chatting about.
We like to use the pickle system around here, but feel free to rate as you see fit.
If you like the system, it goes as such
0 - 1....you would probably want to recommend to derf
1.01 - 2....better wait for HBO
2.01 - 3....worth a rental, maybe even a trip to the picture show
3.01 - 3.99....pretty much a must see, either in the theater or DVD.
4....WOW
