Does iHub still support surveys? The link I used to click on to access surveys for the Biotech Values board generated a "404" error.
You’re welcome…
Ok, thanks Joby...
Why would a pink current company need to file an S-1 to start filing again with the SEC, can't they just start filing again and that would be it? When its supposed to be for an IPO, but this company isn't doing that there already trading with alternate filings. TIA.
Yes, if ignorance is bliss, there should be more happy people posting on IHUB.

If the shoe fits wear it.
I think we should just stick with natural stupidity. We're used to it.
Soooo…. Is it better to rely on artificial intelligence, or just stick with natural stupidity?
That is very smart. We must be appreciative of our new overlords.

My God, your Bot Buddy is longwinded, isn't he?
I have some intelligent feedback. Resort to the old rules of engagement.
The social media experiment failed miserably.
So you rely on chat bot to think for you?
Check it out Surf, my chat bot buddy thought I was on the right track with a query.
You’re right; the distinction between critical analysis and whining often hinges on intention, tone, and the presence of constructive elements. Here are some key differences:
Critical Analysis
Objective and Evidence-Based: Critical analysis involves examining an issue or argument systematically and objectively. It relies on evidence and logical reasoning to support claims
1.Constructive Feedback: The goal is to provide constructive feedback that can lead to improvement or deeper understanding. It often includes suggestions for how things could be better
2.Balanced Perspective: It considers both positive and negative aspects, offering a balanced view rather than focusing solely on the negatives
2.Purposeful: The intention is to inform, educate, or improve a situation. It’s driven by a desire to understand and solve problems
Whining
Subjective and Emotional: Whining is often driven by personal dissatisfaction and emotions rather than objective analysis. It lacks a solid foundation of evidence Complaints Without Solutions: It tends to focus on what’s wrong without offering any constructive solutions or suggestions for improvement
Negative Focus: Whining usually emphasizes the negative aspects and overlooks any positives, leading to a one-sided view
Intent to Vent: The primary intention is to vent frustrations rather than to seek understanding or improvement.
Key Factors to Consider
Intention: Is the goal to improve and understand, or just to express dissatisfaction?
Evidence: Are the points backed by evidence and logical reasoning, or are they based on personal feelings?
Constructiveness: Does the feedback include suggestions for improvement, or is it just a list of complaints?
Tone: Is the tone balanced and objective, or is it overly negative and emotional?
By focusing on these factors, you can better distinguish between critical analysis and whining. Do you have a specific situation in mind where you’re trying to make this distinction?
Yes I do. You don't seem to address those people that whine or use critical analysis to push an agenda. Some agenda's are of course positive but some like propaganda twist the truth for often nefarious goals.
You’re absolutely right. The intention behind the analysis or complaint can significantly impact its nature and reception. Here’s how agendas can play a role:
Critical Analysis with an Agenda
Selective Evidence: When pushing an agenda, individuals might selectively present evidence that supports their viewpoint while ignoring or downplaying contrary evidence.
Framing and Spin: The way information is framed can influence perception. For example, emphasizing certain facts while omitting others can create a biased narrative.
Persuasive Language: The use of persuasive or emotive language can sway opinions and manipulate emotions, rather than presenting a balanced view.
Goal-Oriented: The primary goal is to advance a specific agenda, which can sometimes lead to distortion or exaggeration of facts.
Whining with an Agenda
Exaggeration and Hyperbole: Whining with an agenda often involves exaggerating problems to make them seem worse than they are.
Victim Mentality: It may portray the speaker or their group as victims to garner sympathy and support.
Blame and Division: This approach often involves blaming others and creating an “us vs. them” mentality, which can be divisive.
Emotional Manipulation: The focus is on eliciting an emotional response rather than fostering understanding or solutions.
Propaganda
Misinformation and Disinformation: Propaganda often involves spreading false or misleading information to shape public perception.
Repetition: Repeating certain messages frequently to reinforce them in the public mind.
Appeal to Emotions: Using emotional appeals to bypass rational analysis and directly influence beliefs and behaviors.
Control of Information: Limiting access to alternative viewpoints to create a controlled narrative.
Key Factors to Consider
Source Credibility: Evaluate the credibility of the source and whether they have a history of bias or agenda-driven content.
Cross-Verification: Cross-check information with multiple reputable sources to identify potential biases or misinformation.
Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills to assess the validity and reliability of the information presented.
Understanding these tactics can help you discern the true nature of the analysis or complaint and recognize when an agenda might be influencing the narrative. Do you have a specific example or situation where you’re seeing this play out?
Generally speaking in the bull and bear discussions that go on stock chat boards, you can see a lot of exaggeration - often to influence the share price but often people who have a strong belief about factors being discussed. Everything from a share selling scheme to next best and disruptive thing in the marketplace. The SEC rewards research and whistleblowing for example - that is great incentive with sometimes million dollar payouts. This sometimes goes to far with a short and distort campaign by some of those "researchers". But I suppose there is abuse in every human interaction and one just needs to maintain some critical thinking skills.
You’ve highlighted a very pertinent issue in the world of stock trading and investment discussions. The dynamics on stock chat boards can indeed be complex, with a mix of genuine analysis, exaggerated claims, and sometimes even manipulative tactics. Here are some key points to consider:
Bull and Bear Discussions
Exaggeration and Hype: Both bulls (optimists) and bears (pessimists) can exaggerate to sway opinions. Bulls might hype a stock as the next big thing, while bears might paint a dire picture to drive prices down.Influence on Share Price: These discussions can influence share prices, especially for smaller, less liquid stocks. This is why it’s crucial to approach such forums with a critical eye.
Research and Whistleblowing
Incentives: The SEC does offer significant rewards for whistleblowers who provide valuable information leading to enforcement actions. This can be a powerful incentive for uncovering fraud and misconduct.
Potential for Abuse: However, this system can be abused. Some individuals might engage in “short and distort” campaigns, spreading false or misleading information to profit from a decline in stock prices.
Maintaining Critical Thinking Skills
Verify Information: Always cross-check information from multiple reputable sources before making investment decisions.
Understand Motivations: Consider the motivations behind the information being shared. Is the person providing analysis genuinely interested in the stock’s potential, or do they have a financial incentive to sway opinions?
Look for Evidence: Reliable analysis should be backed by solid evidence and logical reasoning. Be wary of claims that lack substantiation.
Stay Informed: Keep up with regulatory updates and market news to better understand the broader context of the discussions.
Navigating Stock Chat Boards
Be Skeptical: Approach all information with a healthy dose of skepticism. Not everything you read will be accurate or unbiased.
Engage Thoughtfully: Participate in discussions, but do so thoughtfully. Ask questions, seek clarification, and challenge unsupported claims.
Educate Yourself: Continuously educate yourself about the market, investment strategies, and common tactics used in stock manipulation.
By maintaining a critical mindset and being aware of the potential for manipulation, you can better navigate the often tumultuous waters of stock chat boards. Do you have any specific strategies you use to filter through the noise in these discussions?
Just one really - I read the Question and Answer board at the iPub and the good folk there tell me what to think. Thanks!..
Turns out that was a swing and a miss.
Administration was looking for intelligent feedback.
What happened to the iHub User Experience board? Was that closed too, like the VIP Board?
If management doesn't like user feedback, then don't ask for it.
Users are giving their feedback on their personal use and time, and it just seems to be ignored. Very strange. Very strange place.
Very interpretive fo sho - between a grievance and a whine and all the many layers available.
Just heard last night how Captain Beefheart took his handle,
Something like a critical social commentator with a heart.
I don't. But scum trolls do.
Stop whinin' Surf
Just kidding ;)
Did you know that someone constantly imagining a flawless IHUB experience 24/7 has a name? It's called maladaptive daydreaming and it's a mental illness.

What happened? Somebody pull the wrong plug?
Sadly that is what that board turned into.
I'll bet these cry babies have to cry for their facial recognition to work.
Paulie's Pixel Palace
Cannot view posts beyond 9:59 this morning. on NWBO board. WHY?
On ND you have to go through a verification process and designate a neighborhood when you sign up if I recall.
What was he supposed to respond to? A bunch of whiny cry babies? SMH
Maybe the VIP board failed because of a Total LACK of response from amit...............

Who does the assigning?.. is it geolocation?.. is it like the iPub where people maintain a avatar for hiding personal info?.. TOS that provide for these things?..
Seems that people would quickly figure who and where everyone is by the nature of the sharing..
But yeah, the review process I'm sure is always in need of tweaking - I suggest build up a language model with criteria and see if what comes out is satisfactory.
When you sign up to Nextdoor you're assigned to your neighborhood and those are the only posts one sees. So in comparing neighborhoods to each other there probably is income inequality. I would venture to say in my neighborhood everyone is above the poverty level to the upper middle class and the things I posted about are what concerns my neighborhood.
The reason I brought it up here was regarding the review process for questionable posts here as opposed to how Nextdoor does it and I copied admin for something they might want to consider.
Just raccoons and foxes, not sure what that has to do with income inequality pertaining to Nextdoor but overall sounds to me like a good site.
Better I'm sure with you as a moderator.
Do you live in a development in a metropolitan area? Have you had your car broken into in your driveway or a package stolen off your porch? If so buy a Ring doorbell and a security system.
Lost your dog or cat? Seen a raccoon or a fox in your neighborhood. They have been known to carry rabies.
You need to get better-looking because your attitude isn't getting you anywhere.
Paulie's Pixel Palace
Hey Bull, never heard of Nextdoor. So my first article/opinion (Guardian) seems balanced but concludes there's a bit of a glitch with income inequality.
Ever get that sense as a mod?,
It has been claimed in America that Nextdoor is most active in neighbourhoods not badly afflicted by crime, but in which there is an exaggerated fear of it. The company maintains that the network is used across all communities. Whatever the truth, a healthy community steadfastness against crime is easily parlayed into hostility towards strangers, outsiders, minorities, the poor and the mentally ill.
In turn, that hostility can create a virtual gated community that, sooner or later, leads to the real thing. It’s a cycle that may prove profitable for the well-heeled and well-protected, and for those who service them, but it’s unlikely to make for a kinder world.
