you beat me to it, and we seem to be generally on the same page here.
my take, in order of the show..
- first off, let me say, i LOVED the "mocking" of each other, before they sing. i cracked up.
the theme was "movie" songs.
sam- ok key but blah and boring. not enough "gruff" for that song
jessica- uh oh, just yuck. and was not in time with the band. the band got blamed so maybe? not sure.
omg, while im watching, the wind was blowing sooooooo hard in va, i had to turn the sound up and hoped all was ok outside.
ok, back to idol..
cj- although he bombed all season, after i loved his audition, he rocked this time and was mostly on key. i even got chills.
dexter- he sang a great song, hard not to love, but he didnt do "great" to match it.
ben- when you close your eyes, and i mean US... do you like what you hear? i didnt. but i loved the look and all. nice try but.. next!!!
magesty- never liked her singing (but i do like her) but its a "singing competition". she was very "glee" like. hated it. if simon was there, he would say "you need to 'go' like the name of the song.
caleb- not his best but he rocked the house with his 007 movie theme song. i think he will win the competition. i really do. it was fantastic and i wrote that down before before harry (judge) said that.
mk- rough start, but, got better. too macho in her moves but then.. you know.. sigh.. but she does still have a nice tone. she just makes me feel sad and uncomfy as she seems to feel. it hits me like that.
alex- yuck. i like him a lot but, again, close your eyes. is that what you want on the radio? i hated his outfit with teh super high water pants and hot pink shoes (if i recall) yet the judges loved it. hmmm.
jena- very good! powerful-
malaya- good but not as powerful as it was meant to be. just ok.
