While I think NWBO knows far more than they are saying regarding Direct, they probably want to see if systemic tumor response and immunity are clearly present.

According to the Triozzi study, even at 2 weeks, tumor reduction can exceed 50% (in the injected tumor). It oozes a clear liquid. Also at 2 weeks, other tumor reduction can/may be detected. Finally, some of the indicators they use to detect an immune response can/may be detected at 2 weeks.

NWBO probably wants to go out further out than 2 weeks for their preliminary 'report', because these responses might be more complete. Moreover, the tumors will (in most cases) not be removed as they shrink, unlike the Triozzi study, so the Direct scans need to be measured accurately -- this is easier when the responses are more profound.
