What is it now? Like 53% of working Americans now work for an income that is within spitting distance of the poverty line. The hole keeps getting dug deeper, and the floor keeps getting thinner. When it cracks, all "you know what" will break loose.
To me, one of the most obvious way to improve the economy is through regulatory reform. It's rarely mentioned.
The Republicans should start screaming from the roof tops:
Americans! What is more important to you? Protecting wet lands that aren't even damp. Stopping untold construction projects to protect obscure lizards and minnows.
New regulations regularly add mountains of compliance documentation to already burdened businesses. Money spent for crap like that creates nothing -but more paper for bureaucrats to beat business over he head with.
By my numbers, over 300 Billion dollars more a year will be transferred from individuals to Large Insurance companies that would have been spent on other goods and services.
