Apple has rights to use lmt in the CE world forever. I don't think lqmt would be able to go with Samsung due to the perpetual agreement lqmt gave to apple in the ce sector for the cash at that time to keep the business a float.
Yes, LQMT may decide not to renew partnership with Apple. However all the patents that are in CIP secondary to the LQMT/APPLE partnership from 2010-2014 can not be shared with anyone else in the CE space. So if they decided to team up with Samsung the patents that came out in July could not be used by anyone else but Apple in the CE space. So Samsung and LQMT would have to start over. I am unclear what patens are in CIP and if the oringal recipe for LQMT is in CIP then Samsung would have to start over from scratch. I think that it is in lqmts best interest to renew partnership with apple unless someone comes along in another area that would offer them big bucks to break their partnership and pay for continued research and development. Apple has given them a sweet deal if they can only get their heads outof their arses.
