The biggest gas hog in the world uses JP8. The M1 Tank. The Army uses a lot of JP8. When I was stationed in Alaska we used it in our Yukon stoves for heat in the the minus 50 weather. It worked pretty good too. If AFTC gets a contract with the Army it will be huge. Just the vehicles on Ft. Hood would be enough to make AFTC huge.

Crucial to the equation however is commercialization of DME vehicle fueling retrofit systems – a specialty of Michigan-based Alternative Fuel Technologies (AFT), headed by Jim McCandless, considered by many to be a sort of “godfather” of DME.

The McCandless DME fueling system is, for example, what Volvo employs on its demonstration DME trucks.
