IMO the breakaway is not a big deal, Bank. They just replaced Sandy's winches and tethers with ours so there must have been some disappointment there as well. Tether tech is tether tech. If the Army wants better there should be some research spiral in it for us and a partner IMO. Otherwise they are going to have to stay within the parameters we give them. Jet pilots do that so some E-3's can learn as well IMO.
Other than Sandy Allsopp in the UK, I don' think we have any strong competition IMO. The breakaway may drive down stock price or not. But I think it is a typical experience when fielding a new system. Heck, Sandy had all his winches and tethers pulled on STMPAS and replaced with ours--and a year ago I almost spent $6K on one for a prototype the boss wanted! Tactical LTA is a new and growing market segment and we have a good position in it IMO. I usually trust strategic things like that. Just me--but you know how eccentric I am!
