The above makes little sense to me.
Apple needs to be concerned about downloading content to non-Apple pcs that have been modified as authentic Apple/Intel machines. You achieve that by authenticating (ie the Embassy Server) that the PC hardware really is an Apple/Intel machine EACH and EVERY TIME content is downloaded to the machine. Why would an authentic Apple/Intel TPM 1.2 PC have the Apple OS continuously checking in to see if the TPM embedded inside is authentic or not?
I really don't see how Apple can avoid licensing the Embassy Server. The rational for Apple going to the TPM has been repeated ad nauseam in the press: HARDWARE AUTHENTICATION! Apple is terrified that modified PCs will try to emulate real Apple PCs, and thereby massively underminding their business model.
What am I missing?
